I'm having a bit of trouble on deciding which class to play. I usually play as a warrior but does the warrior class have a high DPS like the rogue and mage? I've heard of mages and rogues doing 10k damage. Can warriors do the same?

I'm playing 2 games. A warrior (Templar bound) who brought in the Templars. And a Mage who sided with the mages guild.

Thinking about doing a rogue and do the snarky responses and the im the Herald, get use to it itches dialogue.

Oh, a good attack for my warrior is use the chain to pull them to him, he kicks them over with the chain extension, then HULK SMASH! with a two hander. Can't wait for the elven two hander sword I gave Bull in my Mage play through. +50 something strength! He also has way cry and horn of valor.

Battlemaster with some two hander, going for Templar when it's an option.

I haven't played a warrior, so I won't be able to speak to that. However I have played a little bit of mage and rogue. Keep in mind I haven't even been to Skyhold yet, so I'm sure there will be more experienced players that can chime in. With that said, I found the mage to be more forgiving of the two classes I've played. Sure, you wear napkins for armor, but that can't really play into it a whole lot seeing how a mage is supposed to be casting spells and not stand toe to toe with enemies. Spells look cool, your targets are far away and you basically focus on casting support spells to keep your companions protected while CC'ing enemies to keep them at bay. It sounds like a lot, but it's actually pretty easy. My intention was to become a KE, but even sitting back and slinging spells as a noobie mage got boring. Range, in my opinion of course, is pretty boring.

Rogue is a different animal. You will feel gimped to get started. Very few abilities. Very susceptible to eating a lot of damage especially if you mistime something. But that's the beauty of it. As you pick up more skills, you can weave in and out of danger, wreak havoc among your foes and melt face while you do it. However, pick the wrong target to tickle with your dagwags, they will turn around, give you a dirty look and you will fall over. That's also what makes the class fun. You can literally pick and choose who you pick on. A well placed combo can alter the tides of the fight. That's your job.

If you can't tell, I'm a little biased.

Also note that I spent many hours creating characters and re-rolling until I found the class I enjoyed starting with. I'm looking forward to going through the entire game with my DW rogue. Fun times ahead!

Untill you get +guard on hit gear and that stare suddenly becomes filled with fear in their eyes as you continue to plow your daggers into their chest right before you either stop time or vanish into thin air just to give them about a zillion new breathing holes.

Warrior if you want to be the one to the front soaking up most of the damage. Taunts and buffs are your friends, as they are used to get the attention of enemies so they'd ignore your more vulnerable teamates.

Rogues aren't front up fighters but they do big damage in spirts. Expect to be spending alot of time cloaked, hitting enemies from afar, or hitting them when their backs are turned.

Mages are glass cannons with supports that can help out the entire team. Mages (as I like to call my ace in the hole) are pretty detrimental to a team especially on harder difficulties. They tend to fancy elemental damage which many enemies are vulnerable to/invulnerable to so choose your spells wisely. Also, sheild spells are you best friend.

That is the gist of the classes, but there are a number of factors that can change these classes and make them intertwine with one another.

Reavers can deal pretty high damage if that's what you're looking for.

No. Why would they? In what game can a warrior deal more damage than a rogue?

Weeeelll... If we are going to beat it down to numbers here, a reaver can beat a rogue in dps on an AoE cleave fight. Barely. On single target a rogue will out dps anything by design.
