If I recall correctly, this is how the LIs in DAI are in how sex is handled.

Mandatory part of romance:

Cassandra

Cullen

Sera

The Iron Bull

Voluntary part of romance:

Dorian

Rainier(if not counting the fade to black)

Never brought up but implied:

Solas

Never brought up:

Josephine

Sera's is based on a choice

Josie is kinda implied too

It is? I thought she races you to your bedroom? But okay, I'll edit.

Oh that scene, I forgot about that

I always took the "gift" part as the romance scene lol

No, Hanako is right. You can potentially continue the romance without the scene of them in bed together, but Sera will allude to the two of them having sex regardless.

So I was right.

Look at you, trying to mess with me. :P

Only if the player chooses a dialogue option. The game itself never implies anything about the relationship, ignoring the gossip from Orlesian nobles of course.

You can actually put it off in favour of talking the first time.
You get the option for another fade to black on the roof and the gift scene which can also be fade to black.

That's such a **** argument. It is actually you who is diminishing and belittling those who have suffered actual rape by requiring rape to be defined by your own narrow prejudices. Are you the sort of person who assumes consent, and then afterwards your defence is "She was gagging for it!"?

If by that you mean people only defining actual rape as rape then yes, people are defining it with their own narrow prejudices.

For that matter, all the relationships in DA:I are abusive since they are with between the head of an organisation and his or her subordinates. They are an abuse of authority. People get fired for that sort of thing in RL.

Next time you are on trial for rape, let me know how the "I didn't define it as rape" defence goes for you.

What do you mean "next time"? Doesn't that imply there had to be a previous time, and thus you are accusing them of being a rapist? That's a very serious accusation to throw out.

No, sorry, there is a difference between being abusive and can be abusive, a big one. Lets not jump into extremes at the slight provocation or else we'll end up calling all relationships ever "abusive".

Never thought I'd see the word 'rape' thrown around so loosely in a debate on fiction characters.

Yeaaah, this is a loose term even by BSN standards.  It's impressive, in a way a horrific train wreck is impressive.  Never thought I'd see Cass out of all characters accused of rape, ffs.

Wait till you see some of the threads where people actually argue for its inclusion as a choice... <_< (glad the mods locked those down)

I don't know if I'd say I want more sex scenes per se....but I would like to see more scenes involving the Inquisitor and their LI. Like I'd like to see my LI asking my Inquisitor how they're feeling more often, or argue with them on choices they don't agree with, etc. Just more interaction in general ^.^

It feels like Bioware has made the PC the more forward in a relationship in the past few titles. I kinda miss having an LI hit on you and you having to awkwardly deflect, or getting a little 'gift' from them (gift being something physical or just a nice gesture)

I remember romancing Anders in DA2 and feeling irrationally jealous at seeing him try to give Varric a pillow, but not my Hawke....

I'm still hoping it's bad trolling, but that's wishful thinking

Wait, so who's in the wrong here? The Inquisitor for "abusing" Cass by initiating a relationship despite being her direct superior, or Cass for raping the Inquisitor?

And I'm confused. Are we "accusing" Cass as rapist, or the Inquisitor?

Cass, last I checked.  This conversation is making my head hurt, but I can't stop staring.

Apparently Cass is the rapist and the Inquisitor is an abuser

Definitely a bad troll
