Today, Leliana scared the ever-living shiz out of Adaar. Turns out she is very protective of Josephine, and gave Adaar a serious grilling on her intentions towards the lovely diplomat. And this scary Leliana is on the soft path. Adaar better watch herself if she doesn’t want to be mauled by nugs in her sleep.

Since the Spymaster had kind of given her blessing, Adaar went to share the good news with Josephine. Josie was aghast that Leliana thought her an ‘innocent in love’, but since she was apparently completely oblivious to Adaar’s interest, I’d say Leliana was right on the nose with that one. The pair proceeded to have the most hilarious balcony kiss I have ever seen! I should’ve taken a pic. Adaar was hunched over to compensate for being so tall, while Josie bent backwards awkwardly. She still tried to point up her foot though, traditional-romance-style. I think I hurt my jaw, I was laughing so hysterically. Marvellous! Next time, Josie should take a tip from Cadash’s book, and just use a stool.

Adaar nipped round the Exalted Plains, clearing out the horrible ramparts and failing to get the right kind of Fade-Touched ring velvet. Today we learned about the strange habits of the Orlesians.
Spoiler
It doesn’t seem like an ideal place for sunbathing. He must be a pretty laid-back guy. Cole should steal his hat and wow the Halamshiral ball with it. We also met our new friend, Bert the Brain-Eater.
Spoiler

Iron Bull finally gave his quest, so the team headed to the Storm Coast. The emotional choice at the end kind of lost some of its impact because Gatt had disappeared. Completely. And was mute. Bull and Adaar continued talking like he was there, with pauses to imagine him speaking. Sometimes the camera would switch to a 10-second shot of a bush. Gatt has some nerve calling Cole a demon when he’s practicing sorcery like that!

In a fit of foolishness, I decided to take on the Stormrider while in the Plains, and then Vinsomer while at the Coast. The lovely Stormrider was fairly easy to kill, I felt a bit sorry for her. Poor thing spent most of her fight hopping around on one foot and howling plaintively. This isn’t the time for Adaar to be going soft though. If she can slaughter innocent nugs, she can finish a dragon. Vinsomer was far less accommodating. It was lights-out for Varric and Cole almost straight away. Cassandra and Adaar finished the fight alone, with the help of barriers and a spirit blade to chop off all that guard. And dispel, so the annoying lightning couldn’t zap Cass senseless.
My favourite thing has to be when Vinsomer prepares to swat Adaar, and she just pops on a Fade Cloak and watches the attack sail right through her. Or when a giant throws a rock. Warrior uses Charging Bull. Fear (?) demon jumps out of the ground. Fade Cloak invulnerbility every time. So perfect.  ^_^

Adaar was misusing her magic somewhat while we checked out the Astariums on the Coast. We went right up to the top of the highest mountains we could find, cast barrier, and then Adaar sailed right down to the bottom. So exhilarating! When we smacked into the ground below, Cassandra cried “we are victorious again!” I knew she secretly enjoyed this nonsense.

I went back and managed to get kicked out of the Winter Palace (rather quickly).

You what???

Kicked out of The Winter Palace? How is that possible?

How did you pull that off?

Farmed Valammar some more. Got myself an armor and a pommel for Iron Bull. Quess that's it for tonight.

More farming tomorrow. I fully intend to get at least everyone a tier 3 armor (only need a mage armor) before I progress the story.

 I found this hilarious!

Orlesians play The Game even in death ("I'm on the brink of death but I must strike an artistic pose").

Also, it looks like one of the more awkward loot positions. Or did you just leave that one? (and don't tell me you followed the instructions on the screen by burning his arm pits :P)

Okay, I might have found it funnier than I should

When Dofni talked with Iron Bull in The Herald's Rest, she thought he seemed a little down, or maybe just bored, or maybe just drunk. Plus, he was getting fat sitting around all the time, so she decided to find him something to kill. They grabbed the mustachioed mage from Tevinter, and the young man with the hat and set out for the Hinterlands. There was this one corner of the map they hadn't been to yet...

Wow.

Dragon fights as a warrior.

Wow.

You know, the first time I took on the Fereldan Frostback, it took me three tries. I wasn't really sure what I was getting into, and was still figuring out everyone's strengths and weaknesses, and honestly I still wasn't totally comfy with the combat. I knew what I was doing, but up to that point it was like all my victories felt like the result of sheer dumb luck. Still feels that way sometimes, heh.

Anyway, my mage went down for the count in that first fight. Well everybody did that first time, but she was one of the first two. So I had to take control of Cassandra for awhile. That was the only time I'd tried to kill a dragon as a warrior, and the fight only lasted as long as it did because of all the guard she'd built up before I took control. Later my mage became a knight-enchanter and I started hacking away at everything with the Spirit Blade, but it's not the same as playing a warrior imho; my primary weapons were still my spells and barriers.

Dofni had only her sword to see her through this. And the belt of Superior Fire Resistance she'd picked up in the Flooded Caves in Crestwood   It was pretty freaking intense. Dragons are real b*****s up-close, man. Bull was pretty excited about it. I don't think he'd have come with us if we decided to run away plan a better strategy for later. So we charged ahead, through the paltry dragonlings, past the fireballs scorching the sky above us, straight at the beast... to begin flailing away at her ankles

It was all kinds of awesome. I was landing critical hits like a boss, and it wasn't long before we hobbled her so she couldn't fly away more than once, though it didn't stop her from jumping around all over the place, or kicking us, or shrieking at us, or toasting us, or biting us, or slashing us, or flapping her wings at us, or summoning more of her pesky kiddies to hamper us  :pinched:

Had to use five or six healing potions to get through this fight; one drink after she knocked Dofni over a cliff with one swipe of her tail. Why, Bio, why did you make us run so slow in combat? Took a long while to climb back into the fray, and the delay killed Dorian. Should have remembered he's not much of a dragon slayer, but he hadn't been out into the field with us yet, either, so he drew the short straw. Oh well, Frosty was down to about ten percent health by then -- the hardest ten percent to whittle away! It was actually kinda cool; it seemed like she really did grow more desperate the weaker she got.

I dunno who landed the killing blow, but Bull and Cole survived it with her, so Dofni is happy. Bull is happy. Cole is... Cole. We looted Frosty's corpse, killed the last few dragonlings lingering around, destroyed another vein of red lyrium, collected another piece of fade-touched obsidian (now have two ^_^ ), and are off to find the last four shards in the Hinterlands and kill a couple Venatori for Dorian. Then it's the Western Approach for us, or maybe the Exalted Plains, or maybe the Storm Coast to close up some darkspawn holes.

Side note: Just noticed we're at 100 pages. Cool. To everyone who's been contributing to the topic so far; You're all awesome. Spork Approves.  :D

Great stuff, Spork, thanks for sharing :D Sounds like the gang had fun. Or at least I did hearing about it.

No screenshots (haven't had a chance to boot up the ps4 yet), but I did go back to a save on ps3 where I could find the Dalish Scout Armour. I'll take a screenie when I can, but there's an elf that meets you at the gates the first time you go to Redcliffe to tell you to talk to Alexius instead of Fiona (you can talk to him in the town after meeting Alexius and he later shows up in the Bad Future during In Hushed Whispers as a prisoner) that's wearing it. The Widower that gives you the Flowers for Senna sidequest (also in Redcliffe) is also wearing it. It looks a bit like Merrill's armour in DA2.

In the Emprise Du Lion, starting at lv 21 on nightmare.

I took Team Dragon Hunter (Vivienne, Blackwall and Cassandra) to go kill the remaining two dragons in the area. This was the first time that I properly prepared each character beforehand such as creating resistant elemental equipment and tonics. It made the dragon fights a lot easier and I should have been doing this sooner. These two dragon fights went quicker on nightmare than it did on the normal playthrough . I then went for Vinsomer and the battle also went smooth (less than 10 mins). So this concludes the exploits of Team Dragon Hunter as there are no more challenges. To be honest when I first started nightmare, I did not expect to do one dragon fight never mind all 10. All this experience gained meant the inquisitor is now lv 23.

I got all the shards and completed the temple quest. This was one of the last side-missions so the areas are becoming a little sparse with things to do. :(

I started the Arbor Wilds quest and had a confrontation with Calpernia. I revealed the truth about Corypheus but I then attacked her anyway (in my defence, she did slaughter a lot of the inquisitor's people at Haven so it was a chance for vengeance). The inquisitor drank from the well and now he hears voices.

Back at Skyhold to talk to some companions. Sera ended up putting a bow in the inquisitor's face and the inquisitor wasn't happy so that means more disapproval. Cole decided to forget himself :(. Went back to the war table and the voices told the inquisitor to go to a shrine in the wilderness.

I will probably delay this as long as I can but I will probably finish my 3rd playthrough tomorrow (and the nightmare achievement hopefully) :)

Well, it was time to check back in with Eglantine Trevelyan today (I tend to skip about between my Inqs). She started out by knocking on the gates of Adamant Fortress. She was really unhappy with what the Wardens were up to and when the warriors wouldn't surrender - she just killed them! She tore through the place pretty rapidly - clearing out the battlements as requested by her beloved Cullen and confronting Clarel and that tricksy Vint, Erimond. Clarel slit the throat of that poor elf from Crestwood who'd been so desperate to join the Wardens - Eglantine saw red and attacked. Then the corpse dragon appeared and everything went crazy. Clarel finally saw the light, committed one last heroic act and in the process, collapsed the tower around us resulting in an unscheduled trip to the Fade.

The Inquisitor does spend a lot of time slopping around in shallow waters in this game! There's more of it in the Fade...and demons of all kinds and spiders and...the Divine! At least it looked like the Divine - neither Loghain nor Cassandra were entirely convinced. To be honest, it looked and sounded like a much younger woman in really bad aging make up! Anyway, Vivienne - completely unfazed as always - reckoned we should follow it and so we did. On the way, Eglantine regained some memories and this was not necessarily a good thing. She really wanted to believe she was Andraste's chosen! Our host, the Nightmare demon made some feeble attempts at taunting us but no-one took him on. It was kind of him to provide us with so many supply crates (or maybe that was spriteDivine) and we made it in one piece to confront the demon and his pet monster spider. It seemed quite a tough fight this time around but justice prevailed. However, pet spider put in a further appearance as we were making a run for it and someone had to play the hero and stay behind. In the end, Diana Hawke volunteered - it was just the kind of thing she would do. Back at Adamant, a furious Eglantine banished the Wardens but allowed Blackwall to stick around. Poor Varric was simply heartbroken at losing Hawke (which is strange because she was one of the least sympathetic Hawkes I ever created) but hopefully, he'll come OK again.

Back at Skyhold, Eglantine decided to stick to her guns and insisted to Leliana, Cassandra and Mother Giselle that she still believed and instructed Josephine to tell the nobles of Orlais that she does indeed speak for Andraste! She then went to hit Iron Bull with a stick and he seemed to like it. Sera continued to confuse her by giving her approval when they shouldn't really like each other and she laid off the Wardens a bit for Blackwall's sake. She promoted Ser Barris to Knight Commander for all his good works and lopped off Erimond's head herself. Then it was off to see Cullen for some comfort on the battlements but...what's this? He's off with Cassandra? Furious, she loped off to that tavern ****** smithy that Cassandra likes to hang about in to see what they were up to! It was ok, she was just helping him out with his lyrium withdrawal. Back in his room, she assured him of her support and things seem to be ok...although he insists on being left alone for a while. Indeed, no-one seem keen to talk to her at the moment what with Varric also requesting alone time and Solas being as snippy and abrupt as always. So she's off to tie up some loose ends in Crestwood with Bull, Sera and Dorian.

Meet Mayte

I gave up on my last Knight Enchanter character.

I couldn't stand her voice. She sounded like a man. I like the voice of Alix Wilton Regan. It's soft and calm.
Isn't it incredible how many hours you can spend on creating the right character?

My new character is named Mayte.  I like her better even. I used about an hour to create her. Below are a couple screens of her on the way through the mountains towards Skyhold.

I've just got out of Haven and reached Skyhold. I fetched the whisp essences in The Fallow Mire and received my Knight Enchanter specialization, and imported Dagna for Masterworks.

Ready to start the game.

Maybe I should get master Dennet in The Hinterlands? I'd like to buy this beautiful white horse from Orlais.

I'm not sure if I want to have Sera or Blackwall in my team this time.
Sera annoys me with all her confused talk. She is so disturbing. I am tired of her. I don't know what influence this has on the story. I probably don't have to care about all the wierd Red Jenny stuff.

Blackwall? He is probably a good guy. He was weak and tries to make up for it. I haven't decided yet. Do I still have to find all the warden remains?

I also have doubts about Vivienne. She is a damn good fighter, but a snob of unknown dimensions. She and Gaspard could be brother and sister for that matter. But I enjoy my pure mage team. They are invincible toghether. So, maybe.
Iron Bull is just a tank. No more and no less.

I could always recuit them and just let them hang around Skyhold? But it would be intersting to see how things turn out without those. Sera is definetely not coming to Skyhold. If I want children I'd rather get some of my own.

I want Cassandra, Solas, Dorian, Cole and Varric as my standard team. Maybe Vivienne.

Any thoughts on leaving Sera out?

Congrats! After what i went through today just killing my first as a warrior (level 13, not specialized yet) on casual, I think it's quite an accomplishment to get them all on NM.

I didn't. It's really very cool to see so many people getting into talking about their games, and the screenies people are putting up are fantastic.

Hmm... well, I left Sera and Cole out of my last game, and I gotta say that Herald's Rest isn't the same place at all. It's kinda lifeless. Was made worse by the fact that the Minstrel would occasionally break out "Sera Was Never..." Looking back on it, I've decided I won't kick anyone out again. But I like Sera, so I'm biased, heh. Doesn't affect how the game plays out much at all. I made some choices I know that both Sera and Cole would have disapproved of, and I didn't have to feel bad about it  so that was alright. It's up to you.

Sadly I am on DRAGON AGE 2 because I want to run two new story trees on DRAGON'S KEEP.

I started the two characters years before DAI was released so this is giving me a second excuse.

Male rouge Hawke:

- chose mainly archery, precision, assassin

- Currently in arc 2

- Killed elf girl who used qunari poison

- kept Feyrina a mage and kept him with the dalish (finally. Merril kept killing me in seconds)..

- Finished Verric's kill Bartrend mission. Killed Bartrend

- Romanced Fenris (continuing relationship)

- finished Sebastion's mission of raiding Harimens. Spared family.

- Friends with Aveline, Sebastion and Anders. Trying to pursue Anders. Rivals with Isabella and Merril.

Female Mage Hawke:

- Chose spirit, healing, better healing pool

- Currently in Arc 2

- Killed elf girl who used qunari poison

- kept Feyrinal a mage and kept him with the dalish (Was the reverse. Killed Merril and demon in seconds)..

- Finished Verric's kill Bartrend mission. Killed Bartrend

- Romanced Isabella ("One timed" her)

- finished Sebastion's mission of raiding Harimens. Spared family.

- Friends with Aveline and Merril. Trying to pursue Merril. Rivals with Anders. Trying not to rivals with Fenris

I am mainly running these because I want to experience my other DOA/DAA, DA 2 storylines the next time I play DAI.

Congrats on being so close. :) I'm still working on Hard, and it's hard enough, but easier than I thought it would be. Not sure I want to try Nightmare  but I really want to get all the achievements so.....yeah.

After all the drama with Blackwall (whom Nery has decided to start calling "TDB" for "Tall, Dark, and Broody") Nery decided to spend some time with the others of her inner circle. Cullen seems to be feeling better about his decision to stop taking lyrium. He pushed himself too hard at Adamant and started to question his choice, but Nery assured him that he was doing a fine job and that he didn't need lyrium to do it any better. A small part of her wondered how much her actions with the Carta might have played in feeding the Templars' addictions. Seeing what it did to someone she knew, someone she cared about and respected, made her happy she had put those days far behind her.

Next up was Sera, who had been acting quite a bit friendlier to Nery recently, especially after they played some silly pranks on Cullen and Josephine. Sera took her up to the roof where they shared some very bad cookies, and she opened up a bit about where she came from and some of the things that had made her who she was. She wanted to try to make some better cookies, for better times, and couldn't believe it when Nery said she thought that was a great idea. [First time I got this scene with Sera. It actually made me kinda like her bit more. :D]

Nery then checked in on Cole, to see how his becoming more human transition was going. She took him to Val Royeaux to see the sights and have some lunch. Well, Nery had lunch, and wine, while Cole just sat with her and talked. He may be more human but he doesn't need to eat? Weird. He seems to be adjusting well, and even is able to understand people a bit more, which he said makes it easier to help. Nery can't help but think of him as a lost puppy and just wants to give him a hug. It must be the hat.

Josephine is now safe from assassins. After the ball, Nery had had enough of the Game and Orlesian politics, and just had Leliana send her people to destroy the original contract. Problem solved. B)  [Sooooo much faster that way!]

Back at Skyhold, Nery caught Cassandra in an unguarded moment, reading what she later referred to as, "Smutty....literature." Which it turns out was one of Varric's romance books. Cass practically begged Nery to get Varric to write the next chapter for her, so she could find out what happens. Nery, barely able to keep from bursting out laughing, quickly agreed and then went to see Varric. The latter of course was shocked, and then extremely amused, by this revelation, and agreed to finish the story so long as he could present it to Cassandra himself. Who could say no to that?!

As for the main goal of stopping Corypheus, Cullen was able to track the source of Samson's red lyrium to a mine in Emprise du Lion, near a town called Sahrnia. Nery hasn't made it there yet; she's still clearing out Freemen lackeys in Emerald Graves, who appear to be supplying workers for the mine. She was at least able to rescue some of the folks being held for transport. Between all the rifts in the area, and the red templars, it might be a while before the area is secure. Hopefully those giants she ran into don't like templars any more than they liked her. [Ugh to lvl 19 giants and their pet brontos]

Yay for 100 :wizard:

With some of my characters I am reminded of actors and whatnot. Lyell reminded me a little of Matt Damon. Now Maryann (romancing the bearded one)  reminds me of Cate Blanchett at some angles, in some light, after a few drinks. :D

and Simon somewhat reminds me of Jake Gyllenhaal (?) he is reserved for Cass.

Spoiler

Yeess - the Orlesians are strange. Every time I go back to Skyhold I have to have a 'chat' with the workers. They removed all the rubble and scaffolding and left the Orlesians behind, WTF?

Ugh, more giants. It is darn near impossible to tag all those elfy landmarks without baiting at least one of them. Iron Bull would have greatly approved if he'd been there. Nery was doing well, despite certain members of her party not staying put where she put them. <_< And, even if she was able to sneak, any time an enemy is near enough, auto-combat mode kicks in and you can't mark anything until it goes off. So anyway, she had all but two of the landmarks found when one of the giants spotted her. She ran away lured it away from the others so the team just had the one to deal with. One at a time please! Killed him, and Dorian didn't face-plant that time, which left just one landmark right next to where another giant was fighting a red templar behemoth. The latter was getting the worst of it, which Nery didn't mind, but unfortunately for her, it was doing practically no damage to the giant while getting pummeled. They finally beat it down though, and tagged the last landmark in the Graves. Then, before any more giants or templars could ruin the rest of their day, they high-tailed it back to the nearest camp.

Left the Greater Mistral alone this time. She's too pretty to die. :D

On tomorrow's agenda: The Deluded Chevalier and Chateau D'Onterre.

Sadly I am on DRAGON AGE 2 because I want to run two new story trees on DRAGON'S KEEP.

.
I had the impression you could alter your story as you see fit on Dragon Age Keep?

I have the option to copy my story and change what I like. Don't you?

I think i've become a dragonslayer, heh. I'm unable to quell the desire to fight them when I see them. The only thing that stops me is knowing that I'm underpowered and she will kick my butt.

I have no trouble with deciding to stay away from giants, heh, but dragon fights are the best fights. I love 'em. And the loot is not too bad either

Today in Inquisition, Dofni caught Cassandra reading the latest chapter of Varric's smutty literature, Swords and Shields. As the Inquisition's resident BMF tried to deny knowing much about it, Cole dropped in to inform Dofni that she'd read it three times. poor Cassandra! She looked like she'd rather be facing down the Fereldan Frostback alone. She angrily turned on Cole and reminded him that she told him to stop spying on her, to which Cole replied, "You read it out loud to me. I don't like the captain, either."

I don't remember Cole interrupting that scene during my first game. Maybe he and my elf mage weren't friendly enough yet. I had to share, it was hilarious.

Yeah, you should be able to make up to 10 world states in there, including copy & pasting existing ones and altering them.

Not that I'd know from using up all my world state slots. Noooo, not me, heh.

100th page hype.

I'm not one to post .gifs usually, but for the gif-y goodness you've posted in contribution to the first hundred pages...

Spoiler

EDIT: And...well... in truth this should apply for everyone who's posted here :D

It helps that dragon fights are accompanied by the best music in the game! It makes me feel unstoppable and all heroic!

At least until the dragon singes my eyebrows and kicks me around the local area.
