Me too... :(

And my second emotion is: Oh my freaking g....! No way!?

I hope you enjoy the game and don't think about how much you paid for it. I must say there is a huge difference between console and PC. But I didn't expect the difference to be that significant.

And today I was thinking if I should buy a new graphics card to get higher resolution? I feel embarrased about my self.

This isn't a console and PC difference, but a last gen and current gen difference.

Then again, vanilla Skyrim looked better than this.

Give me nao!

So, how do I sign up for that beta progam, Bioware?

When they announce it, you'll be able to do so from the Keep.

Do you mean when you go to select 'which hero you want', they aren't an option? Or that their world state is gone? ...or something else?
I notice on mine that I can't select my saved world states anymore, I have to select 'copy of world state #1' (with the Inquisitor included), and load that. When I load it, the decisions are all correct, but my Warden/Hawke has been replaced with a default. It's very weird.

Selecting 'which hero I want'. I.e. the 'world states' from DA:O.

What did I do today?

Well, yeah, I was browsing the Nexus mods. The game is still great. I just need some changes somehow.

I think It's time to test some of the mods. Some of the clothing and armor mods maybe. Josephine in a black shirt instead of gold? A larger inventory? A new pajama?

It looks as if the modding community is getting bigger now. It's still 'minor' changes but worth looking into.

I played Skyrim for more than 2.000 hours. The mods was the reason. It was exiting to change things. Adjust things.

There's even a mod that lets you start with the 'Masterwork Archon Staff' and 200 of each crafting material. Including herbs. I don't know about this one though. Takes some of the fun away. But who isn't tempted after 600 hours with 8 playthroughs?

I'm waiting for the 'Black Emporium'. Maybe I wouldn't start all over again and again then?

It's a sign at least. I need something new.

I was also fiddling with the cinematic tools for free camera. But I can't make it work. The graphics goes all purple. A shame though. I like picture experiments.

Antisocial  elf mage continuation ...

The inquisitor is back at Haven and she needs to make a decision about Templars/Mages. She told everyone that she is choosing the mages (which is exciting as this will be the first time for me! ^_^). The inquisitor then went to speak to Josephine in her office and she wanted to know more about the Dalish clan. The inquisitor wanted to keep this information private so she told Josephine to mind her own business. There was a war table mission about how to stop dissenting Chantry voices. The inquisitor chose the 'tactful' response of have an intimidating visible presence of troops on the street to remind everyone that the inquisition is in charge (I will probably pick a lot of Cullen responses). Cassandra disapproved again and now she replies "What do you want?" in an irritating way when the inquisitor asks questions.

She then went to the Hinterlands. The inquisitor heard reports of a Grey Warden so she went to investigate. She found him with a few recruits. Blackwall wanted her to help fight some attacking bandits -_- but the inquisitor didn't like taking orders so she watched the recruits battle the bandits without making a move. Solas, Varric and Cassandra couldn't just stand back though and they helped. The bandits were defeated without the inquisitor's help. Blackwall wanted to join the inquisitor but she didn't accept because she didn't want any Grey Warden hassle in the future. Blackwall just grabbed his sword and went back into the wilderness alone :(.

The inquisitor got a bit side-tracked and she met a scout looking for Ritts (she left mid-conversation). Ritts was rescued but wanted the inquisitor to keep a secret. Ritts asked if she will report this and the inquisitor replied "Probably". The inquisitor went back to the scout to snitch on Ritts  :pinched:. The inquisitor also barged into a house to discover that a fellow elf needed help to find a wedding ring. The inquisitor thought that this task was too trivial and walked away mid-conversation. A cult was found in the hills and wanted the inquisitor to prove that she was a herald. The inquisitor was offended by this as she is no herald and she left the cult with a rift that they will need to deal with themselves. The inquisitor killed all the rebel Templars and made her way to Dennet. She tried to intimidate him and even implied he didn't like her because she is an elf :pinched:. Dennet wanted her to complete some tasks and the inquisitor doesn't like being told what to do. So the inquisition might have to go without horses.

The Storm Coast was unlocked to meet the Iron Bull. The inquisitor again didn't join the fight so she can assess the mercenaries capability but Solas, Varric and Cassandra rushed in again. The inquisitor was initially impressed but the Bull revealed that he was a spy. Therefore, Iron Bull and company were rejected to be part of the inquisition.

I am currently at lv 6.

(I am still enjoying this playthrough but some of these decisions are difficult to do when I like to complete everything :). This includes the companion quests being locked out and the side-quests but I am looking forward to doing the Mage branch for a change.)

I made another Quizzy in the CC- this time, a dwarven lass.  I tried to recreate the tarot card for female dwarves.  She'll probably romance Blackwall, but right now I'm playing the world's smallest violin because she can't even flirt with Varric </3

I really liked the Ken and Gabby mod in particular. It was cool to actually recruit them in the bar, rather than at the spectre terminal, but i gotta say that EDI looked naked without her visor, heh. This was the last femshep I played before DA:I:

Spoiler

I never knew about the Ken and Gabby thing, that sounds much better too. And I love that Shepard, very badass :D

While we were on the topic of ps3 vs next-gen/pc, I made the mistake of looking through some of my old ps3 saves before I got ps4. Turns out, I've got a post-ending save where I haven't explored everything with one of my favourite Inquisitors that may or may not have me leave ps4 Thedas burning for a few extra days (I've forgotten what I was doing and still haven't had a chance to sit down and get back into it). I actually recreated her (poorly) on ps4 and I think I managed to walk every inch of the world there. On ps3, she was first Inky so I'm sure I've missed some interesting stuff. I'll be checking it out a bit later today :)

Ladies, gentlemen and variations thereupon, meet the dork Eirin Lavellan:

Selecting 'which hero I want'. I.e. the 'world states' from DA:O.

Oh wow, that really sucks, would you have to try and sync them again?

Make sure to report it on the Keep site. I hope it gets fixed for you soon.

....

Dofni had to admit those troops were pretty good at getting things done when they wanted to, and by the time the gang returned to the Plains, both operations had been done. Blackwall volunteered to stay behind this time, so that Varric could get out of the castle for some fresh air -- in the swampy, undead-filled, war-torn, halla-sh*t-everywhere, smoky, dusty, Plains. Dofni was sure he appreciated the thought, anyway *ahem*.

...

Emerging from the Dead Hand they found -- yay! -- more Gurguts, and a rift, oh, and someone named Ser Hildebrandt of Gond. Cassandra is looking for this guy, but I dunno that yet because she hasn't told me (read: haven't received the quest from her), and she is also back at Skyhold. But the gang couldn't ignore him because he attacked. They sliced him up easily enough... until his health got down to about five percent. Then he called a timeout. His health bar turned green and he just started walking away! Wait, what? You can't just call a timeout in the middle of a battle, pal!
....

What?! You left the bearded one behind? TDB??!  How could you?!  He goes with Nery everywhere, they are like two peas in a pod.  Double shield bash + double lunge&slash FTW.

As for Ser Hildebrandt, he is one of the champions you need for champion specialization. You don't actually kill them, you just get their heraldry for defeating them in battle. B)  Cassandra's quest should be fine once you get it.

Nery stayed up too late last night, and she wasn't even drinking with IB this time. The red lyrium mine is shut down, all miners accounted for. Mistress Poulin is paying back the town for selling workers to the red templars. Hard times and hard choices. Nery kind of felt sorry for her, but she still needs to try to make amends at least.

Suledin Keep is also now under Inquisition control. Ser Michel had told her that the demon (um, "choice spirit" ?) Imshael was cunning but she sure didn't think so. What's the point of offering things to someone who doesn't even want them? Power? She's already one of the most powerful and influential people in Thedas. Any more "power" and even more people will want her to solve their problems. No thanks. Riches? Again, she's already got more gold than she can spend, and Josie is probably hiding even more somewhere. Why would she need the demon to give her anything? And the best offer? Virgins. Really? That must be a guy thing since Nery really didn't see the appeal. Besides, everything Nery could possibly want was all wrapped up in the man standing beside her. She almost laughed at Imshael for his incompetence, but managed to hold back since he was a demon. So she made her choice and killed him dead. Ugh, what a wuss at the end. Have at least a little bit of pride in your demony-ness, man.

Once the keep was up and running, she learned that some dragons had moved into the area and were scaring the locals. Oh boy. Too bad Iron Bull was back at Skyhold, but there wasn't time to wait for him, so off she took TDB, Dorian (who was finally getting used to the cold), and Cole. Wouldn't you know the first one, Hivernal, was a frost breather and all Nery had brought along was fire resistance tonics. <_< That made things a bit more complicated, but they were finally able to take her out. Went back to camp to re-stock, and get the right equipment for the next one, Kaltenzahn. That fight went better, what with actually being able to resist her cones of cold air. She cheated though by calling in her babies to help. Poor little dragon babies. It wasn't long before she was taken down as well. Nery cleared the path to the final dragon's lair but decided to head back to Skyhold for an update on Samson first.

After reaching influence level 5 and getting my final knowledge perk, I did Valammar for a bit but only got some upgrades, instead of the desired Bow and/or mage armor. Meh, I guess I'll go buy the armor in the Hissing Wastes. (I'm gonna try to get my hands on all the Superior ones from there though, already sacrificed a few things here and there to the RNG gods). I'll also pick up a Masterwork Bow in the Hissing Wastes. If I recall correctly, that one is the easiest to acquire of the tier 3 schematics there, so I might do that straight out of Skyhold.

Anyway, it's time to close the breach.

The reactions to the ball were interesting. Sera pointed out that the nobles are all in it for themselves, and that Celene/Briala’s lover’s spat caused a lot of crap for the people under them. This is true, Adaar saw the truth for herself when an elf was about to be skewered by a harlequin just for knowing too much. However, the country needs a leader, and she believes that they will make Orlais into a much better place. Education, arts, diplomacy, happy elves. Better than war-mongering and misery, right?

Everyone’s gotten worked up about which backside is going in the holy throne. Adaar feels confident that Cassandra should be the one. Not because the lady is her chum, but because Vivienne is too conservative and Leliana is... well the last thing Adaar needs is an all-powerful Leliana. She still remembers the implied threat about breaking Josie’s heart. I must have done something right, because this is the first time I can support Cassandra at the war table.

Adaar wants to believe, and maybe the answer isn’t to force herself, but to make the Chantry into something worth believing in? Helping the poor and disenfranchised certainly seems like something worth having faith in. More so than pushy ladies in big hats, or petulant gods. Between the right kind of Chantry and the Inquisition, they could make a huge difference.

The Emprise du Lion is the next port of call, to help the people of Sahrnia. Hopefully they didn’t get tired of waiting for salvation. The Inquisition’s schedule is just a little busy. There are still slaves to rescue in the Hissing Wastes, and displaced folks to support in the Graves. Move over Andraste, there’s a new saviour in town.

We had a little chat with the Mayor (I think?) of the decrepit town of Sahrnia. If Old Crestwood looked grim, this place is a whole new kettle of dead fish. Apparently the red templars have been abducting people for some nefarious purpose. Now, maybe I’m just crazy, but didn’t we take care of this issue back in Therinfal? How are there still so many red templars? There has to be something else behind it.

There were some adorable snoufleurs waddling around on the ice, which are completely safe on this playthrough. Adaar has no pressing interest in wearing rogue gear. The ice itself is a little unnerving though. What if it cracks? Then it would be straight into the drink, with ice re-freezing over their heads. Bleugh. Safe to say, Adaar prefers sunnier climes.

We pushed all the red templars back, though they seem to be a lot stronger than I remember... All except for the behemoth. Adaar encased it in ice, then my lovely rogues decimated it. The thing fell flat on its face in less than 10 seconds. Marvellous! It did continue making horrible gurgling noises for sometime after that though. The red templar rogues are much more of problem, with their pesky little omni-tool blades. The way they whirl around Adaar makes it difficult to hit them and keep her barrier up. Static Cage and Immolate help.

The kidnapped villagers were very demanding, “help us!” “you have to help us!” “pleeeeeaase!”. Please people, can you not see we’re in the middle of beating templars into a fine red paste? I had Cole open all the cages, since that’s definitely his thing, and he seemed very pleased after each one. The whole mine is a bit of a maze, so there were plenty of opportunities to use barrier and jump off cliffs. It makes Adaar seem a little like a ninja or something, when she just leaps into the middle of some nasties and starts destroying them. I love it.

It turns out Mistress Poulin had been knowingly giving her people to the red templars. She explained that this was to save the rest of them, and it does hold some logic given the circumstances. But Adaar is not interested in excuses. Those people had lyrium grown inside of them, and Poulin has to be held accountable for that. She’s growing tired of all these arses saying “I did bad things because I had to.” No remorse, any of them. She had Poulin hauled off to Skyhold for judgement. Wr still need to head on up to Suledin Keep and deal with a nasty demon for Michel de Chevin, but for now it's back to Skyhold. Hot chocolate for everyone!

"Choice. Spirit! "

No but really, Nery's got the right idea. Why did he think those were good offers? :P

Anyway, I decided to go back to a save 15ish hours back, before end-game so I could keep a certain egg for a bit. Sadly, I'd still killed all of the dragons already. The good side of that, however, was that Eirin had plenty of crafting materials to mess around with. So, after a nice long vacation somewhere warm (likely with her girlfriend, since I don't imagine Sera's terribly fond of the cold either - growing up in alley and/or local tavern and all - and both of them rather lack...um...insulation, being tiny elves), we finally stretched our legs a bit and got down to business!

First stop, the Hissing Wastes to pick up some T3 armour schematics. We, amazingly, ran into no trouble there, thanks to a conveniently placed camp site just to the west. From there, we went to Val Royeaux. There we met an odd merchant trying to sell his "ware." Since Eirin's basically swimming in gold, even after buying those schematics, she decided to let curiousity get the better of her and purchased it. She...was less than impressed. Still, she remembered something of Leliana being fond of such things and sent her agents out to...deal with it. They'll be back in a few hours, so Eirin decided to craft some armour (which is actually what she's wearing in the screenies I posted earlier) and head back out.

This time, we went to the Emerald Graves to see what we can do (and Maker's breath, what a difference between last-gen and next-gen consoles! It hardly looks like the same area!). She decided to take the usual suspects of Cassandra and Sera, but replaced Varric with Dorian. No particular reason, really, just giving the poor dwarf a bit of a break from nature. I turned the difficulty up from Hard to Nightmare and sent the merry band of misfits gang off to deal with some rifts. We ran into our first Fear Demon almost immediately and it brings up the question, how often do you guys see them? I've only run into them a handful of times and I'm almost always playing on NM. They're quite interesting to fight, a nice change from despair demons for sure.

And that's where I am now. Already time for a break, so the group's gonna rest up in camp for a bit. Eirin's heard of a Chateu d'somethingorother that sounds like a nice break from armed lunatics and weird demon-y sh*t, so maybe they'll check that out when I return ;)

I wish I still had some screenies of the Ken and Gabby mod to show some of the dialogue, but lost most of of my screenies on my last re-format.  ... Eirin looks great :D I was thinking of that hairstyle for my next elf Inky, but haven't decided m/f yet.

I know, I know. But he volunteered. ;) ... I wanted to catch some banter between Varric and Cole, since he and Solas are the both involved in Cole's choice later. Not metagaming at all, though  Also wanted to see what it was like being the only fighter in the group, and also Varric's specialization hadn't kicked in since he hadn't been out on a mission in forever. Heh, trust me, Dofni will make it up to Blackwall once they're back at Skyhold.

Thanks for the info on Hildebrandt. I believe he's in the same general area on the map as Cassandra's target, and since I'd already picked the templar path, I thought the other choices were over with, so that's why I was confused. In fact, I did pick his pockets for a heraldric symbol as he walked away. The whole encounter was very weird, heh.

I really don't get the whole Imshael thing. Does anybody side with demons in these games?

I love Adaar's thoughts on the chantry, making it into something worth believing in. That's a very cool way of RP'ing it. I'm really not sure who will end up Divine in my game, but I have a feeling it might be Viv this time. Seems like I've been in the Plains forever and I'm kinda getting disconnected from the larger picture, heh.

Hmm, in Harold's game it seemed I got more Pride Demons in the rift encounters as I got later in the game, and more powerful. But I seem to remember a few Fear demons in there. Maybe I'm thinking of the Fade, though.

I wish I still had some screenies of the Ken and Gabby mod to show some of the dialogue, but lost most of of my screenies on my last re-format.  ... Eirin looks great :D I was thinking of that hairstyle for my next elf Inky, but haven't decided m/f yet.

Shame about your screenies, I lost all of my DAO screens too and it's always a bit disappointing :? I think I'll look for a video or search the forums for it later though, now I'm interested.

And thanks! I think they did better with hairstyles this time, though I still tend towards the shorter ones. I think this one actually looks good on both, so this isn't really helpful for deciding :P The other short one that I like (and I thought looks good for both, too, but some seem to disagree?) was the one I'm currently using on ps4 and used for my canon Hawke:

Spoiler

Hmm, in Harold's game it seemed I got more Pride Demons in the rift encounters as I got later in the game, and more powerful. But I seem to remember a few Fear demons in there. Maybe I'm thinking of the Fade, though.

Yeah, it's usually Pride and Despair for me. I thought perhaps it was just a lower chance to get them on NM, but considering they're meant to be higher-tier, I'd have thought I'd run into them more often. Ah well, I'll just consider them a rare treat and try not to die when they show up

I've come across the fear demon at least once in each playthrough (casual, normal, now hard). I may have had two or three of them this game....don't quite remember. I don't think they sprout until you get to level 20+ rifts though. Also lots of pride demons and greater terrors, and everyone's favorite, the despair demon.

I really liked the Ken and Gabby mod in particular. It was cool to actually recruit them in the bar, rather than at the spectre terminal, but i gotta say that EDI looked naked without her visor, heh. This was the last femshep I played before DA:I:

Spoiler

Hubba hubba. Very nice. :D

'Liked' for the Dude, and for the news ;)

No matter which face I use in . . . er. . . that other game. . . Shep always seems to look the same. (sigh)

Eirin is gorgeous :)

She Hawke has certainly aged better than He Hawke. If I want to make him anything close to decent I have all over stubble.

Hm, I usually go around and close all the rifts right before Doom Upon All the World, so it's usually 20+. Not sure why I've not run into more, since Hissing Wastes is almost all 20+. Thanks, though, I'll certainly keep an eye out this time. Maybe wait till I know everyone's 20+ before doing it.

Heh I don't actually have any male Hawke world states (because Jo Wyatt  ) but I have heard that. But hey, at least he gets to keep his original hair/beard? They did a better job recreating him in Frostbite than default Lady Hawke, though. She looks nothing like Marian from DA2 :(

That hairdo really seems to suit your Hawke. :) Looks good with the shape of her face. I considered it actually for Dofni, but couldn't make it work. Her jaw is a bit too narrow or something. It didn't look right, anyway, but yeah I agree, I like the shorter hairstyles... Although I think that may be an unpopular opinion around these parts. :P

The Zaeed mod is a pretty good one too, although the camera angles are kinda messed up. He talks about how Cerberus tried to recruit him after the events of ME2, and touring one of their ships, and seeing one of the new and improved soldiers without a helmet on, which of course helped him decide not to take TIM's offer, heh.

Honestly I never really looked too closely at them before this discussion  I just figured they were greater terrors with extra arms, or something.

Sooo Chateau D'Onterre was not the quiet getaway Eirin hoped it would be. Something about an ancient horror and mages. She found the whole thing intriguing, of course, but the team was far less amused. Sera hated it, obviously ("Seekers go first, yeah?") and Cassandra said the place made her uncomfortable. Dorian didn't have much to say until we got upstairs and found some...interesting reading about how to ensure your child does not become a mage. He was infuriated, naturally. Eirin was having less fun after that.

Things got entertaining again when we got to a room with this giant (fake) dragon hanging from the ceiling, though! Eirin stood around staring at it while her team dealt with a few walking corpses. Oh yeah, the place was filled with zombies. Did I forget to mention that? So yeah, not such a peaceful day trip.

Anyway, after wandering around for an obscenely long time trying to figure out what I...I mean, the team, missed, we found the balcony key. Rather than using it, however, Sera decided it would be more fun to just jump out a second floor window. Lucky she did, because she found a mosaic peace next to a corpse on the balcony below. Eirin proceeded to abandon her there and use the key. Because she didn't learn her lesson the first time with the Orb, Eirin decided it'd be a fantastic idea to touch the weird floating box on the other side of that locked door. Naturally it summoned that ancient horror I mentioned earlier. Luckily Sera was still stuck downstairs (with said ancient horror), so she dealt with it pretty much on her own. The team showed up right at the end to steal her glory and all was right in the world Chateau again.

With that, Eirin decided she'd had enough good ideas for the day, so we returned to Skyhold for some rest and relaxation (read: drinks in the Herald's Rest). While everyone was getting comfortable, Leliana's people returned with a report on...a nugalope? Eirin's not sure how to feel about them, but hey, the Inquisition can use all the resources it can get...right?

And as something of a side-note, I spent nearly the entire time playing as Sera. Coincidentally, I'd had her specced for DW Tempest and I wanted to test it out. Thanks for the suggestion, Spork; it is soo much fun (and consistent 4k+ damage on NM with the right combo of abilities? yes please), can't wait to get to Skyhold on ps4 and do that with Inky :D

Had an unsettling experience today; Vivienne was nice to me on arriving at Skyhold.   Never happened before; she usually tells me scornfully how incompetent I've been in not anticipating attack by dragon.   This time she noticed some dirt on my face owning to the house move and wanted to clean it off; the sort of thing my mother would have done.    Very disturbing.

Thanks ^_^ I usually start with the hair if I have no idea what I'm doing; it's easier to shape their face to work with it that way. It helps that the camera angle is quite flattering. Well, except for the disgusted looking Inquisition agent and Cassandra having an internal meltdown about Hawke in the background

Oh? Didn't know about the Zaeed one either. Ha, can't imagine why he'd say no. I mean, if anybody could get out alive it'd be him. And by that, I mean he'd be the only survivor. Again :P

Edit: Run, Gervaise! She's silently plotting your demise! Ruuun!

Welcome :) Tempest archers are kind of addicting to play, once you get the timing down with flask usage. Honestly, today I watched Cole slice and dice zombies up on Pont Agur, and it's really got me wanting to try out a DW rogue... So I'm think elf rogue next game. Still undecided about the romance. Will see once I get into the CC.

I love the Chateau D'Onterre; such atmospheric creepiness. The beautiful sunny day outside, birds chirping etc, only adds to it.

As for Zaeed, yeah, now that you mention it, I'm surprised he didn't fight his way off the ship. ;)

@Gervais. That would be unsettling for sure. I think I've had Viv ask if I was alright, darling, but never more than that. I think I'd be doing a  and backing away slowly, heh.
