My next run will be the first that I'll metagame to hell and back.

Looking up the locations of all agents and how to get them as we speak :P gonna see if I can find some guide to all the war table operations as well.

I finished my first playthrough a couple of days ago so I am starting the second. I always find the second playthrough more difficult because I always do a completely opposite run from the first. I have set some goals on what I want to do before the final mission such as collecting all the mosaic pieces, defeating all the dragons (as I only did 6/10 in the last playthrough) and collecting all the Caprice coins (as I only got 6/15 before and yes I am a completionist :) ). I am also doing this run on a nightmare setting so I anticipate that this will be the longest playthrough.

So far I have created a Qunari mage called Akitana (Mortal Kombat influenced) and I wasn't expecting how hard the nightmare mode is. I am currently at the first pride demon. After several attempts, I have got killed every time. So this playthrough is going to take me ages .

I have been playing on casual. That might explain the speed. Battles don't last long. I might try a nightmare run soon.

Do it. I did my nightmare run on my third playthrough. The hardest part, for me anyways, was defending Haven while under attack, otherwise nightmare isn't that hard.

Normal a nightmare in itself for those of us who suck at games and are terrified of higher difficulties. I can't go 5 seconds without turning one of the wheels, then bam, new wave of mobs!

Take  your time. Gather all materials that you can to craft a good weapon and armor. Also do as many quests as possible that require the least amount of combat to get yourself leveled up to have more abilities to use, especially early in the game. Don't be afraid to run away to avoid dying. Make a save before encountering any combat.Tactical camera is your friend. Use it.

Now on my mage playthrough i just wrecked them at Haven but with my archer last time was so intense, it felt like killing a boss in dark souls or something. Friendly Fire was ON during my archer playthrough though.

Found my Magister Staff schematic!

And a tier 2 Light Armour schem which looks atrocious. I'll wait for when I unlock the Mage Schematics with an Inquisition Perk before upgrading my own gear.

I hope you didn't upgrade Explosive Shot so shrapnel can hurt others. You'd be doing more dps to your own team then the enemy!

Beat the game again on the weekend to record some more footage. Created a music video centered around the Solas romance!

If anyone is interested:

Daenerys realized she'd made a mistake and traveled back in time to Val Royeaux. Once there, she finished her quest for Red Jenny. Then went shopping again and spent every single gold piece she had on crafting diagrams. Sold all of her high level stuff that she won't be able to use for another 10 to 15 hours of game play and bought some more crafting diagrams. She had learned in the previous future that crafted weapons and armor are far better than the crap she'd been finding, and were on par with that higher level crap she'd been lugging around. Then she picked up Sera.

Sera is bonkers.

Then we went to see Vivienne. There was a very rude Marquis who approached Daeni. Vivienne froze him and asked Daeni what to do. The man insulted her honor. She wanted him dead. Done. No muss. No fuss. Such is the way in Orlais.

Sera will drive her crazy so she parked her in the tavern in Haven and left her there. She gave her Varric's old armor, and gave Varric her old armor which miraculously fit Varric. What was also amazing was that the armor that Varric had been wearing was once Daenerys' first crafted scout armor, and now that Sera was wearing it, it looked far better and more colorful on her than it did on Daenerys. Daeni is going to have a word with The Maker about this.

Then it was time to craft armor and weapons. But first we needed more resources. Being penniless, it was time to go hunting. So she took Varric, Cassandra, and Solas bear hunting in the woods. Then looked for Onyx, Ram leather, and Nug leather. When she had enough of hunting she found Blackwall. Now Blackwall is cool and all that, but I find his beard a bit weird looking. He looked better in the pictures. Needless to say she flirts with everyone except for Sera. She crafted a matched set of daggers for herself: Love and Hate. Also crafted new armor for herself and for Solas. Needs to craft armor and a weapon for Blackwall.

She is considering changing her party to Vivienne, Solas and either Cassandra or Blackwall.

Lol, of course not. Zero AoE spells with Friendly Fire, i had explosive shot but used it manually when Cass had barrier/guard on etc. With mage is impossible, one chain lightning killed my whole party...

Sullastine seems to be having an easy time lately winning friends and influencing people. She spent a lot of time trying to think of the most appropriate punishment for Alexius. She really had a hard time deciding between just executing him and making him tranquil because letting him live with full use of his power and knowledge was just too dangerous given what he knew and what he had been willing to sacrifice (the whole world). In the end, she figured he was expecting to die and opted to make him tranquil as the truer punishment.

This led to a huge fight with Dorian which upset her greatly. She wishes he'd understand that she hates making Alexius tranquil but thought that execution was too light a sentence and that she made Alexius her personal clerk so that she has to live with and be reminded of what she did every day. But she doesn't believe judgment should be about what's easiest for everyone, but about what fits.

She's pretty sure Solas is none too happy about it also, but after screaming over it with Dorian, she didn't feel like talking to him and getting the cold anger routine. And she's pretty sure Viv is happy about it, and that doesn't make her happy, either.

She's starting to think she ought to chop off the glowy hand, chuck it on the throne and run screaming for the hills ...

I'm not sure where to ask this, but does anyone know if there's a youtube link to the music that plays when you first arrive at Haven?

It basically starts playing as soon as you open the door and before you stands your number one fans  the people of Haven. It's such a beautiful piece, I end up pausing the game just to listen to it.

Somehow its also playing at the Forbidden Oasis. But if anyone can point me to where I can listen to it, I'd be much obliged!

Lots and lots of dead phoenixes, quillbacks, and that other armored beast that I can't remember the name :) in the Western Approach. And dead raiders and Venatori. Rift mage is awesome. Pull of the Abyss is particularly useful for all those pesky demons coming out of fade rifts. Firestorm/Flashfire/Immolate (don't remember anything today apparently) is also pretty fun to wield as long as your comrades are not nearby. All those fireballs raining down from above will wipe them out with everyone else. Even with barriers and them popping potions like they were going out of style.

Been going around with Cassandra, Blackwall and Cole and they can hold their own even when I get wiped out quickly on occasion (stupid rogues and the occasional mass demon attack). I figured Blackwall and Cassandra would both want to be around to take care of Grey Wardens who might be consorting with/influenced by demons and Cole just mows down everyone (I've found/crafted a pair of wildly overpowered daggers for him). Not a lot of conversation with these guys though. I've enjoyed the conversation more when Dorian (who most people distrust) and Solas (who challenges a lot of people) are in the party. Solas and Iron Bull, in particular, have great conversations about the Qunari philosophy.

Solas reacted very strongly to the idea that the Grey Wardens were trying to wipe out the Old Gods before they could become Archdemons. I'm not sure if he objected to the idea of killing the Old Gods or of using demons to do it. Probably both - which is a little worrying. Happily, I could give him a flirt answer so I haven't been completely friendzoned yet. At least I don't think I have. I better not have!!!

Just started storming Adamant. I feel bad about killing so much of my army and I hope to be able to spare at least some of the Grey Wardens but we'll see. I need to get up on the battlements while Cullen and the rest of the army are holding off the majority of the demons. Cullen better not do anything stupid! Stroud and Hawke are very useful to have around so we should be able to mow through whoever we face in time to save the rest of the army. Unless of course something shiny pops up and then all bets are off. :)

-Que loud startled noise!-

But yeah, that whole moment when she really talks about the book then goes "Pretend you don't know this about me" is just really cute. So why do you want to be Divine when you can spend life with me Cass, why? Maker be damned, DLC best continue these romance arcs!

But I just did up to the templar hall in Champions of the Just, and I have to say that quest up to that point was impressive. I like the way Cole gets introduced as well. But my fellow Mages need me, so its off to see Alexius!

Unless you walk into that beefgate that is the rift by the river in the Hinterlands. That was a nasty surprise.

I freaked out at that first time. Then I went back up to the broken bridge and followed the river. That gave me the height to disrupt the rift and distance from some of the critters. Still died several times over and Varric had to keep running back up the river to ensure we all didn't die. :P

Wow, I'm up over 120 hours into my first run, and I haven't even done the grey warden thing yet. Hawke must be getting pretty impatient by now. Having way too much exploring, heh.

I'm at almost 200 hours but I figure my actual time is closer to half that since I'm moving in slow motion everywhere (please work new video card when you get here :crying:). I killed Frosty the Frostback yesterday (first dragon, yay!) and tackled the level 20 rift in Emerald Graves with not much difficulty (party is level 16, quizzie just turned 17). Then, feeling good about ourselves, we proceeded to get clobbered by 2 giants living in the middle of the Elvhen landmarks. <_< Finally got 'em though, then ran away to the nearest camp before the resident dragon did another fly-by.

Next up is either: visit the Qunari to talk about an alliance, finish setting up camps and clearing rifts in Emerald Graves, or head to the Western Approach to finally meet up with Hawke. She's gotta be wondering what the heck happened to us by now.

What took just about as long as killing Frosty? Getting to that bleeping shard up on top of the column before you hit the dragon area. Word of advice: don't toggle tac cam if you are perched precariously on rocks looking for a way up....it will send you back down to ground level so that you have to carefully jump and twist and step ALL OVER AGAIN!!

I've been avoiding this section of the forums, since I haven't finished my first character yet.  She's close, but not there yet.  I do plan on hanging out here for my next character, my human mage.   This looks like a fun place and I could use some fun with fellow DA fans.

Well, I just finished with What Pride Hath Wrought.   My dwarf trusted Morrigan as much as my Casteless dwarf did.  The same Casteless Warden that refused the DR because she trusted Morrigan that little.

Yeah, I had Garnet drink from the Well.  Plus, I also know that voice that was whispering in my Cadash's head at the War Table after I got back to Skyhold.  I didn't stop saying, "Oh f*ck" and "Oh sh*t" for a good 10 minutes afterward as a player.  I'm not reloading, but I know this bodes ill.

I think this screenshot sums it up:

Replaying my original character: Una'Suri.  One of the best moments in the game. This time, I saved the mages, not the Templars. I like that path much better.

Saves the effing world today.

Took me about 180+ hours to do, but it is done.

My Marcus is a pragmatic war commander of awesomeness.

Vivi as divine just about crushes it. Leli, much as I love her, will never be divine in any of my play throughs, all her ideas are just cray cray.

Now to concentrate on my andrastian she elf and her ongoing quest to get in Blackwall's pants.

Seemed like we were playing the same game for awhile, heh, but looks we're on wildly divergent paths now. I think that's one of the great things about this game.

Daenerys is trying to figure out who to romance.... Blackwall or Cullen. Cullen is cute, but who has the hotter scene. Inquiring minds want to know.
