Driving the mako around on uncharted planets is half the fun of playing ME1 again :D

Ha! I'm experiencing the joy first-hand as I replay ME1: driving up vertical slopes, missing with the cannon, trying to run over geth and just driving past them instead...

Not to mention my all-time favourite - flipping the Mako upside down!

This time this is just a highlight of my Quizzy attempt to "soften" Leliana.

While looking for clues, I got really distracted by Chantry imagery.

*snip*

I give up.

This is marvellous! I hadn't noticed just how weird Chantry art is before. And Leliana looks pretty adorable munching on her own clothes like an adult baby! :P

I accidentally selected softened Leliana to poison someone at the war table recently. She's soft like nightshade is soft!

Things have transpired quicker than Adaar expected. He spent some time restoring order to the Hinterlands while taking on crazed rebel mages and red templars, and even had his hand in fortifying the travel roads with watch towers. He's becoming wary of any mysterious notes he finds, as they almost always lead to fade daemons, and he's had more than his fill of those while closing rifts. He's learned quite a bit about red lyrium from Varric, and also quite a bit about the Fade and its nature from Solas, who apparently has too much time on his hands. Cassandra has piqued his interest as a valuable ally, given her grizzled and passionate sense of duty and justice; Blackwall, a Grey Warden that recently joined the Inquisition, not so much. He preaches a lot and is far too idealistic for Adaar's tastes. No Griffons being around adds to the disappointment. Leliana is beginning to scare him with her ruthless and nonchalant approach to normally difficult situations; he's starting to think she's taking her role as Justinia's former Left Hand a bit too seriously.

Ironically, Adaar also had plenty of time to scare the uptight and bigoted inhabitants of Val Royeaux when they visited to address the Chantry clerics. He ignored the stares and even occasional slur, often "ogre" or "ox-man", and spent his time listening to Varric and Cassandra banter as a distraction. An rather well-timed visit from Seeker Lucius, however, spiced things up. As did an offer of assistance from a mage representing the rebellion named Fiona. Adaar finally felt important after weeks of mindless work. He was eager to see how long he could make that influence last.

Adaar missed his Valo-Kas buddies and assisted them when he could, almost ashamed that they couldn't have a more active role in Inquisition affairs. A crew he hired while visiting the Storm Coast would have to suffice. Although they perhaps had one of the corniest names he'd heard for a merc band, their leader, a rather handsome Qunari spy, seemed to be worth his salt. The Qunari, named The Iron Bull, seemed to be fairly moderate about Adaar's status as a Vashoth, but Adaar knew from experience just how manipulative the Benn-Hassrath could be through his chance encounters with Qunari in the Free Marches. When they returned to Haven, The Iron Bull's reputation clearly transcended his experience in combat, based on the gossip of a few Chantry ladies he overheard.

Spoiler

Oh, the depravity.

So, Aela Lavellan had arrived at the Winter Palace feeling like a fish out of water.  This whole experience through the Inquisition has been a whirlwind for her, from a huntress to Clan Lavellan who volunteered to spy on the Conclave to an honored figure recognized in human society.  She never would have wanted, or even imagined, that she could be an actual guest in the Empress of Orlais's palace.  The whispers and side eyed glances she received as proud Dalish elf didn't surprise or discourage her, regardless- she doesn't need their praise.

Spoiler

As much as she claimed to hate the Game, Aela played it well.  While she'd never admit it, she was even starting to have fun manipulating and twisting the Court around her little finger.  It was an entirely new experience for her, but she surprised herself (and others) by how well she adjusted to it.

Spoiler

When Leliana suggested allowing Celene die to give Briala power behind Gaspard, Aela was conflicted.  Her experiences outside her Dalish clan gave her a new perspective and appreciation on the lives of the City elves.  Due in large part to the influence of Solas, a city elf she developed a close friendship with and came to love, she began to widen her views to see them as her people as well.  Still, the death of an Empress was something that would weigh heavily on her conscience.

After the day's events, Aela needed to step outside and get away from the Court.  The steps she had to take to achieve her goals made her take a step back and try to process what she had done.  She allowed an assassination to take place to help her people.  Leliana was right- the best path wasn't the easiest.  Solas saw her outside and approached her, seeing that she was a bit overwhelmed by the day's events.  And even though she adapted to the Game, it was still a trying experience.  There, he comforted and sympathized with what she had to do:

Aela: I don't know if I did the right thing, letting the Empress die.
Solas: Sometimes sacrifices must be made.  Nothing is ever won without something else being lost.  Remember the lesson, but do not dwell on it.  You didn't invent war.

Aela smiled.  Solas knew the right thing to say.  She didn't need comforting lies, but she did need reassurance from someone she trusted.  She was only too happy to dance with him at the day's end:

Two things from the ME thread. If you get hit in the Mako move to where you can save and reload. You come back all bright and shiny and new. No omni-gel expenditure; and two - if you get stuck in a hole, turn the turret to face behind you and fire. It got me up a cliff. If worse comes to worst you can always get Kaibe and nuggalope to help run over things. :P

Don't forget plunging into lava.

Yeah I hadn't paid too much attention to the paintings on my first playthrough but some really make you go "mmh ok, some chantry artists are indeed a little touched".

There is also this guy in Haven, I like how he is suspiciously eyeing the fire:

Connor's is such a tragic story. i never considered the consequences of leaving him alive in DA:O and then having everyone in Redcliffe hate him later. Makes sense I guess :P but back in the DA:O days it sounded like he'd be sent off to the circle eventually to find his way, far from Redcliffe... and who could have predicted a mage rebellion.

EDIT: Forgot to say... being able to tint armors =

I'll probably wait to install mods until Bioware is done patching.  My game rarely crashes or has problems (except when I'm changing the décor in Skyhold for some strange reason) and I don't want to upset the balance.  When I do install mods the first thing I'm going to look for is a mod to get rid of that abomination of a hat that Solas wears in Halamshiral (and maybe one to give my poor dwarfette a reduction (or get rid of the wonderbra) - she's supposed to be 40 something and certain things are excessively prominent and perky - I'm sure they interfere with her archery).  Although the ability to wear armor in Skyhold would probably fix the latter issue, its only really obvious when she is in the pj's.

Today, an Adaar Inquisitor took his first Magic steps onto a Nightmarish world. Unfortunately, his Overlord (me :D) forgot to install Fraps and take screenshots, so people will have to wait until tomorrow to see his devilishy beauty :D

(Beginning of Korbuj Adaar: The Brutishtellectual series).

Today, Korbuj escaped from Haven only to return to....Haven (urg, prisoners like him would make police obsolete any day), and felt pretty good about himself for learning Fade Step and using it to defeat the Pride Demon at his first try (and even with his and Cassandra's HP bars at full! Unfortunately, Varric and Solas died like the dropouts that they are).

Then, once he was dragged again back to Haven (Korbuj: ouch! my back! :( ), he declared the Inquisition reinstated and went to sleep. You know, because changing history is no excuse for skipping an afternoon nap.

I know! I went out of my way to keep the whole family alive and Connor still get's the short end of the stick! At least he's alive and safe since I stopped that future and ended their alliance with Tevinter.

Right now I'm meeting up with Hawke and Loghain in Crestwood.

As for mods, my "no sideburn" one seems fine, but that's all I'm using.

Well, it' seems this crazy human behind the keyboard insists on making me run all over creation, quite literally I might add. She insists I must find every single one of those mosaic pieces today, then go fins all of those sparkly shards too. I will never understand humans, I might have to answer to one but, I don't have to understand IT.
