So, Blackwall. So... Blackwall, Blackwall, Blackwall. *sigh* ...Blackwall.
Dofni took her boyfriend, and Cole and Solas, to Adamant Fortress with her, and there they put an end to the whole grey warden mess. Not quite so easy as it sounds. Oh don't get me wrong. Storming the fortress with the Inquisition army at their backs was easy enough. Being five levels above the recommended meant they barely even benefited from the experience. Fighting the demons and the warden mages and whoever else was also easy enough, especially with Hawke and Loghain looking out for them too.
And then... the Fade. Wow did Cole ever hate being there. His first words were that he shouldn't be there, and that he made himself forget when he became real. Solas calmed him down, though. In fact, baldy seemed just a tad excited to be there, since he'd never really been there. The big bad demon tried its best to intimidate the group, but after all the crap they'd already been through to get to this point, his pitiful words were practically meaningless. No one seemed intimidated by him in the least. Dofni was proud of her people. She also remembered what happened that fateful day in Haven, and knew she'd been right all along; the Maker, Andraste, none of them had anything to do with what happened. It was just ... being in the wrong right place at the wrong right time. Was a little tiny bit puzzled by the fact that she was wearing her crafted obsidian grey warden heavy armor in all these memories, but no big deal.
They escaped the Fade and returned home, thanks in large part to Mr. "You won't die while I still draw breath", the Hero of River Dane, warden Loghain Mac Tir himself. In honor of that sacrifice, Dofni recruited the grey wardens to join the Inquisitions cause to fight demons and red templars. Solas wasn't happy because demon-killing and Cole wasn't happy because the wardens hurt people... but Dofni figured they were acting according to their nature, as was she, and she figured they'd get over it in time.
So now, we're all home in Skyhold. With a trip to Emprise du Lion looming, Dofni decided to take a tour around the place and see how everyone was doing. She and Vivienne had a nice chat about the next Divine, and Dofni suggested Vivienne herself. She could see a fire light in Viv's eyes at the thought of it, even as she expressed doubts the Chantry would ever support a mage as Divine. Dofni was inclined to agree, but assured Viv that, as Inquisitor, she would "make sure" the Chantry went along with the idea. immediately after the conversation, a "support Vivienne for Divine" war table mission became available. Interesting. i hadn't even considered this whole thing for awhile now, and up until I chose to support Viv I had been planning to support Leliana. We'll see what happens.
Varric was happy Hawke made it home, calling it a miracle, and then he went off to start writing letters to all Hawke's friends back in Kirkwall. Solas had nothing at all new to say after the adventure, which was a little surprising, neither did Cullen -- but he's a very practical sort of fellow now that he's kicked the lyrium habit -- and neither did Dorian, but that's okay. He seems to be content to explore Skyhold's library for now. Leliana was upset with the Divine's last words for her, and asked to speak about it later.
Haven't spoken to Josie, Cassie, Bull, Sera, Morrigan or Cole yet. Next stop was the stables.
And Blackwall.
They touched briefly on the events of Adamant, but only very briefly. Then he suggested they go for a drink. They sat at the bar for awhile, and then Blackwall sighed. Dofni told him he was brooding, and he denied it. She told him she liked it, and he didn't really know what to say then, so she suggested they go somewhere private. The hayloft of the stables would do nicely.
Oh my. Cutscene was just a little bit strange with a dwarf inquisitor. As they started kissing and backing up towards the bed, their faces were level, but Dofni's feet were also on the ground. Hmm.
Oh well, who cares about such things. Dofni sure wasn't going to let it spoil the moment. And what a moment it was.
Then she woke up alone.
Below her, on the stable's ground floor, was the finally finished (I think) Griffon statue with a note tucked into it.
Ulp.
I know what comes next.
But it'll have to wait -- sorry, Melbella
-- There are still others to talk to first, and new war table missions to check out, and Emprise du Lion (and three dragons! ) to prepare for.
