"Oh Grey Wardens, What have you done..."

With the discovery that the wardens were being tricked into binding themselves to demons, Karliah Adaal saw no choice but to lead the inquisition into attacking the Warden Fortress of Adamant. It was not a task she looked forward to as she respected wardens and what they stood for. But allowing Corypheus to have a warden/demon army was all the drive she needed. But she had orders for her men to follow and that was to allow wardens to surrender. No needless bloodshed. Knowing it was going to be a tough battle, she took with her seasoned fighters from her companions. Varric, Dorian and Blackwall. The others she left to help assist where needed in the attack.

The attack was bloody but just as she suspected, many wardens questioned the course Warden-Commander Clarel was taking. They surrendered to the Inquisition forces and even aided them against demons. With a determined glint in her eye and leading the attack. Karliah stormed through the ranks of warden mages and demons/ cutting them down to the last one and eventually finding herself in the main courtyard. There is where the battle of words began as she with the help of Blackwall convinced Clarel of the mistake she was making. Clarel was unconvinced until Erimond played his hand to soon by showing Corypheus's pet dragon. Commander Clarel turned on him but it was too late.

What happened next was hardly something anyone could have predicted as Karliah found herself along with her companions physically in the fade. Varric was understandably disturbed because as a dwarf, he doesn't dream. Lady Hawke, Alistair and Dorian knew of the fade but even then this was unlike anything they had seen before. Even Varric recalled stepping into the fade with Hawke back in Kirkwall when assisting an elven mage. Of course Hawke had to remind him everyone got tempted by demons and abandoned the two of them there.

All was not lost, as a helpful spirit or even that of the divine herself showed up to guide them. The nightmare demon should have chosen more carefully who to try and intimidate as Karliah and her group smashed through everything he threw at them. When it was just him at the end, the fight was over quickly but that's when his giant pet came into the picture. With Varric, Dorian and Blackwall through the opening in the rift and out of the fade, the creature blocked the path of the three that remained. Hawke, Karliah and Alistair. Alistair insisted on staying behind but Hawke ordered him to go saying the "Wardens need your help to rebuild, to restore the trust everyone lost... Tell Varric... I'm sorry..."

As Alistair and Karliah rushed for the opening in the fade, Hawke tore into the monster with all her might and skill as a mage. Karliah actually suspected that she intended this, knowing she might have a better chance of escaping then Alistair might. As she fell back into the world, Karliah saw the wardens battling the remaining demons. So with a snap of her fingers, she used the anchor to kill them. With the threat gone, the only task now was what to do with the wardens. Karliah allowed them to stay, saying it was not her place to decide their fate or drive them from Orlais. In the aftermath, Varric began looking around asking "Where's Hawke?" Not knowing what had happened. Karliah had to break the news to him, making their victory seem more bitter then sweet.

Back in Skyhold she comforted Varric who told her how much Hawke had meant to him, how she had effected people. And now how he had to write a letter to Merrill and break the bad news to her. Karliah thought it odd Varric never mentioned Carver. But perhaps the siblings had distanced themselves to much for that to matter much now.

Hoping to find a less depressing situation, Karliah went seeking her lover Sera, only to find her terribly angry with her. It seemed the whole incident at Adamant had shaken Sera and her belief in everything, including her and Karliah's relationship. Nightmares had plagued her of Karliah vanishing into the Fade, never to be seen again. After some calming down, Karliah was able to get her to talk straight, noting how many times Sera had said the word "love" which was a lot. Karliah acted all tough and told Sera that nothing could ever tear them apart. After Sera tackled Karliah to the floor and smothered her with kisses, the two sat down near the bard and drank many mugs of mead. "I think we should get married." Karliah told her at length which resulted in her getting showed in mead as Sera spit out a mouthful.

Sera then leaned in close, winked and smirked before saying "Your a looney."

After that Karliah went to talk with Blackwall to see how her own warden was doing. But first she stopped in to chat with Morrigan and tell her Alistair had wanted her to know he was there at Adamant, survived but looked stupid. Morrigan laughed and remarked that she was glad her warden was not involved. Which lead to the discovery that Morrigan's husband was actually the missing king of Ferelden and the hero of the fifth blight. She was rather shocked to say the least, wondering why Leliana or even Alistair had not told her this before. But the way Morrigan spoke, it seemed as if the king had set aside his title and instead searched for a way to save his own life so that what mattered most importantly to him could then be enjoyed to his twilight years. Family.

Karliah was rather glad for Morrigan that her husband had not been at Adamant. For had the decision to leave him behind in the fade probably would not have gone as well as Hawke's demise had with Varric.

But when she left Morrigan in search of Blackwall, she found the stables empty.

So I finally actually unlocked stuff in my specialization. I just respeced and took a bunch of stuff.

Wow. Yeah. Knight-Enchanter is ****** OP as all hell. Like, it's fitting, but still really OP.

Spirit Blade has allowed Olinar (and myself) to get our revenge on all those terrors that terrorized us early on in the Fallow Mire. It just cuts them to ribbons in nothing flat. :D Pride demons too. Love to hear their "mwahaha" laugh get interrupted by dying.

started my post Benjamin Trevelyan story fan fic today.  Finally.  And well at this moment I am kind of winging it  My post Kara T story is a lot more fleshed out in my head, even though I have not played her yet.  Though her backstory was probably a lot more fleshed out too and Ben turned out alright when I finished him.  Loved Ben.

I think that would be cool to read. a long while ago I did start one myself on DAO. I kind of made it a bit adult oriented. It starts off cnetering around a few of my mage warden's in their "origin stories", elves and their "origin stories", and the main character being a female noble who rises to become queen. I was even going to cover DAA where I was actually going to kill off a few of my characters in the process. I have been planning on doing my version of DAI with the Vollsan's Amolla and Draven Vollsa who are brother and sister as the heroes:

Draven_01_zpsp4p46zlb.jpg

Amolla_01_zpsbezklhjc.jpg

And I was thinking about dividing it up to make it makes sense at some parts like how Draven sides with the mages and how Amolla sides with the Templars.

The guide does indeed say that...*side-eyes the guide*

It's possible it's right, but if it is I can't remember an exact location. Suledin Keep is the easiest place to find it in a decent quantity, it'd probably be easier to just go through that than have poor little Dofni stumble over larger-than-life (literally, in her case) roots searching for what may or may not actually be in the Graves

Edit: Perhaps a stupid question, but what the heck is Zangolia? The guide claims it can be found in the Hissing Wastes but I've not explored much of it on foot after getting the materials I needed to have much clue one way or another.

Also, I can't remember if you've said, but if you have some of Josie's perks you can probably buy Felandaris...somewhere. Maybe :P

Getting supplies in the game is a pain I swear at times. It took me days 9yes days) to find venetori tomes to get rift mage. this online guide someone posted in a topic I made only suggested Exalted plains and said nothing about Hinderlands, Forbbiden Oasis or Hissing wastes for other suggested places to go to get the required stuff.

I cannot remember where I got the Felandaris's myself but I know they are NOT located in the HINDERLANDS (where you get the quest). I think I found them somewhere. I think around that one location that's a big forest area with the giants walking around the forest? I am unsure. I swear I got it around a heavy green area and not a desert zone. I am unsure.

Actually I use it as a backup. I'm still primarily a ranged caster, I'm just not squishy anymore. If anyone does manage to get close to me, they get Fade Cloak blasted and then I slash them to death.

Well i decided to hit up Chasimess again (female human DWK rouge on NIGHTMARE) and I was shocked on how it went:

Other_01_zpshvnkuklm.jpg?t=1425786999

The Mage route on Nightmare: A story told from Alexius's point of view

Chasim_09_zpsvchdnkyl.jpg?t=1425787003

"This rougeish woman from the inquisition shows up with a qunari and a elf. Apparently for a bit she was at a location called 'The Forbidden Oasis' doing some 'portal busting' before she decided to see me. She sounded like she wanted to make a deal with me regardless of the fact that the Elder One wanted to make my son live on as long as I kill her and her allies."

Chasim_12_zpsv1v6wqct.jpg?t=1425787003

"To my dismay my old student shows up without me being aware claiming to have me see reason with my decision to want the Inquisition eliminated."

Other_02_zps6rj8cagn.jpg?t=1425787495

"I was angered by his betrayal and tried killing all of them but instead since Dorian was familiar of my power he somehow sent himself and Chasimess to my ideal future and lived. Apparently Chasimess and Dorian regained their allies Sera, Iron Bull and Liliana. Apparently this was no easy task to do because the player saw this screen twice." (maniacal laughter)

DAIBadEnd01_zpsenuwdc1x.jpg?t=1425787757

Chasim_13_zpsqazyqov6.jpg?t=1425787806

"However despite the two blunders she had she got Liliana and easily made her way to defeat me. It's like these venetori soldiers and spellbinders were useless. I tried killing them myself after they showed up in the present and was doing so well too with my green bomb spell (maniacal laughter) but I was eventually beaten almost to easily." *Sigh*. "So much for saving my son".

THE END

Getting new gear the the dark future helped but I didn't like Dorian being the only guy eating my potions. At least i was able to refill with no problems and used them smartly. Also I did get the potion max upgrade which seems like a must on NIGHTMARE. Chasimess felt like MVP because I would stealth my way to the spellbinders and kill them. That Huxley (bonus venetori spellbinder mini boss) did kill me at one point and give me game over but after I got Liliana he was easy to beat. As mentioned from Alexius his bomb spell thingy was a pain in the butt and one shot killed Chasimess and Iron Bull a few times but I was able to get him.

Other_06_zpsejif8jeu.jpg?t=1425787809

Elora and Alistar looked cool coming out together and sounded cool ripping Fiona a new one. However since i am working on my Moonphase/Lightwind storyline where my decisions are never the popular decisions at all sometimes I openly welcomed the mages as friends not P.O.W.'s. Not to mention I am trying to build hate mail from Cassandra and see how that goes.

I am still shocked how easy the mage storyline went on NIGHTMARE DIFFICULTY. I was expecting it to be a pain in the butt since I always had on easier difficulties. Lol.

This sounds like what I did today. Same party for Adamant too, with the only difference being my (made up) Hawke was male. Dorian was quite upset when they got back, not for getting sent to the Fade but for having to worry about Olinar possibly not coming back from the Fade. He's so cute when he's worried though. They talked a little bit about what might happen once Cory is out of the picture, but it's still too early to make any real plans.

Olinar is avoiding meeting up with Bull at the Storm Coast to cement an alliance with the Qunari. I'm really torn on what to do here. So far, I've always saved the Chargers so I want to do the other route at least once. I'm just not sure this is the right game for it. Since Olinar is trying to make nice with Tevinter because of Dorian, it might not be a good idea to antagonize them by "allying" with their enemy. Plus, I like Krem.

I also finally made it to the Hissing Wastes and spent almost all my gold on T3 armor schematics. Made some new digs for Olinar, Dorian, Sera, Cass, and Varric.

Went back to Valammar with Varric to deal with Bianca's mess. I really would love a renegade interrupt to smack her one. I headcanon Olinar fade-stepped his way to blocking her exit and threatened her right back after her pathetic attempt to threaten him. She really needs an attitude adjustment. :pinched:

Up next....waiting for war table results. It appears Olinar's clan will survive. Just need to get the news from Cullen sometime tomorrow. Then it's back to either Emerald Graves or Hissing Wastes. Probably the latter since I don't feel like hiding from dealing with giants any time soon.

I know the feeling. Going through windy tunnels, dealing with red templars (especially the assassin type guys who can one hit kill), camp grab, getting to Imshael, beating Imshael, The three high dragons, saving the locations people, and fade busting I don't blame you for being like "ugh....zomg...LAME!" Lol. Honestly it's one of the hardest zones in the game no matter what difficulty you play but what you get there is well worth the argh factor.

What's funny is that they let you travel there right away after Skyhold without giving you a warning or precaution that you need to be at least this particular level to actually survive. I know that you need to be at least level 15 to take on the tasks there. Sometimes, the games will throw an enemy that is 5 levels higher than you which is cheating.

In my first game, i went there right after Skyhold opened up, and barely got through the first fade rift fight -- like no health potions left and everyone near dead. Limped back to camp to rest and restock, went after the guy on Cassie's hit list and nearly died again. Being the glutton for punishment that i am, I went after another fade rift and just got  destroyed. ...then I went to the Western Approach, heh.

EDIT: Or maybe it was the Forbidden Oasis.

Agreed. What even gets me is how they tend to pull this sudden level garbage in certain zones. Like for instance Hinderlands seems easy enough at first since it's like 1-3. However when you start going southeast to hit a certain fade gate, some sidequests like the apostate packages and that southeast exi all of the sudden the guys are level 8. It's like wtf! So after picking up Blackwall and finishing the western village same thing happens southwest: level 8-12 guys and portals. I swear at times they pull this MMORPG crap on you in zones that you seem to do fine at which gives you false confidence in completing the whole bloody map until you enter "X zone" in Hinderlands where guys go from very tolerable to one hit killing people in your group.

I do agree that when you do enter zones like the Forbidden Oasis for the first time you think you'll be fine being at level 4ish but you won't be because it's like 6 or 8ish on up at start and seems to progress further up since on the east side the spiders are like 12ish so doing the spiders in cave which has a ring sidequest is suicide.

I believe the hardest rifts are the ones down southwest and the rift down the river near the farm. It's mainly the Despair demons that are biggest arses for lower levels.

Today in the Inquisition, Dofni went to Val Royeaux, to follow up on that lead on her boyfriend, and she got way more than she bargained for out of it. Of course, anyone who has played the game already, whether Blackwall is romanced or not, knows what I'm talking about. But what hurt worse is that he -- Blackwall, that is --  wouldn't even look at her while they led him away to the prison. Dorian, Bull and Cole were no help either.  <_<

Down in the dungeons, Dofni showed how much she'd grown as a person, and how much her heart just melted at the sight of him. No matter how much she privately thought he deserved a good swift kick in the ... shins...  she told him that confessing his crimes was very brave, and even managed to smile for him. But he was all for throwing himself on a sword anyway, and tried as hard as he could to make her see he didn't deserve any mercy or kindness. He wanted to save her the pain of finding out that all she knew and loved about him was a lie.

Idiot.

She told him there was truth in the love they shared, and that there was good in him, but he wouldn't even look at her. So she left him for the time being.

Cullen was waiting for her in the guardroom, and suggested that even though he despised Blackwall's betrayal, he respected him for owning up to the crime, and for fighting so valiantly on behalf of the Inquisition. He even suggested they could have the man released so that she could pass judgement on him herself. She loved Cullen a little bit for that. He was a good man, and a good friend, and in another life, who knows what might have happened. Ah well.

She told Cullen to have Blackwall released into their custody, and went back to Skyhold. There, Blackwall tried to be a martyr again, but she wouldn't let him. She told him that he was free to atone for his crimes once all this silly Corypheus stuff was over with, and that they would figure out what comes next together. He kissed her for that, right in front of everyone and everything

All is seemingly well in Dofni's world again, and they are now off to Emprise du Lion to find a Felandaris flower... err, among other things

I believe the hardest rifts are the ones down southwest and the rift down the river near the farm. It's mainly the Despair demons that are biggest arses for lower levels.

Yeah that one. However the first time I played DAI I wasn't expecting this to be a high level and this much of a pain. I had no clue how tough this was going to be since I don't have a game guide to this game.

It's already bad enough one time when I was dealing with a fade portal on nightmare I got lesser terror spammed to death and couldn't even get up. Needing to know every area's level x-y is a must because if you go in blind as a "new to DAI" person you'll be like wtf when your a level 3 feeling confident from trashing earlier ones only to realize your going to make a mistake trying to trash portals with despair demons while being way lower than them.

If you do the quest to find the Druffalo and bring it to the rift, it will help defeat the demons at that rift.

My brother accidentally hit the druffalo and it almost killed him and his entire team. Not sure what level the druffalo was.
