After cleaning up from the Frostback battle (and having a ten-minute debacle regarding who is using what Superb Accessory; spent three minutes looking for the Superb Belt of Constitution I got from the dragon, checking between Iron Bull and Blackwall and myself for whoever was wearing it. It turned out Dorian was wearing it, the cheeky ass. And no, I'm not romancing him. I usually abstain on my first run through). So then I initiated Here Lies The Abyss...

I've finally settled on what my human mage should look like.

wYaeewo.jpg
lTSyKpt.jpg

On another note, I did a little search and it turns out there was a real person with the same name I gave him.

Charles Trevelyan. Two guys with that name, actually. A "1st Baronet" and a "3rd Baronet". Both had a role in British history.

Leliana got a message from the Divine (well, a contingency letter) and asked Olinar to meet her in Valence to check out whatever Justinia may have left for her. (Uh oh, here comes Darth Leliana)

Just played through the Darth leliana sequence myself. I kinda felt that, when Dofni tried to talk her out of slicing up Natalie(?), and then tried to talk her out of "doing whatever was necessary" from now on, Leliana kinda had a point, when she said, "Now you want me to stop?? You didn't hesitate when it came to killing that spy (or whatever that guy was in Haven), and you gave me the confidence to carry on as I was." ... after all they had done to build the inquisition into a respected power, one with great influence, Dofni did seem just a little bit wishy-washy. I mean, I've been trying to role-play her as an ex-Carta thug who is realizing that life isn't so bad, and does actually mean something, but still... sometimes things do have to be done. i just wish it didn't have to be Leliana who was doing them.

Hey, Adaar here. Can you good folks help me out with my human? She's great and all, gets us amazing battles with dragons, plenty of vints that need killing and all but, she refuses to understand that I do not like purple and, I don't look good in it. No matter how much nice armor and how many sturdy coats I bring her, she dumps me back into this. HELP!

vH4P4Sul.jpg

Darling, you look mahvelous. I say, just go with it and be thankful that it's not plaidweave. ;)

If you do the quest to find the Druffalo and bring it to the rift, it will help defeat the demons at that rift.

I've tried that and I don't reccomend doing this because at one point somehow I hit it in the middle of a crossfire so not only do I have angry demons but a angry druffalo too.

I may try this again and hope for the best but still...

Btw to answer the question of "what level is the druffalo" I think it's level 12? I think it does x4 also so if you do hit level 12 it may be like lvl 14ish or something. I know the level is pretty insane for the thing. I almost killed in on my first playthrough but it steamed trained my last guy. I know my party was my first character wadolla (female elf dwk rouge) and had Solas, Varric and Cassandra dealing with it. I know regardless of the games difficulty this specific druffalo's charge will one hit kill your character and potentially whole group if it's sucsessful when charging.

As far as "what I have done today" is concerned sadly not much. I am trying to get Chasimess a level up to be ready for the red templar attack at Haven. I just feel a bit uneasy dealing with the red templars at lvl 9 or 10 (whatever I am at). I did some portal bashing in Forbbiden Oasis, finished some minor quests in Hinderlands, claimed the astrium's treasure in Storm Coast and claimed a beacon in the Mire but I haven't dinged yet. I did pickup Lylia On for a bit:

Lyllia_03_zpsxp5py9tj.jpg

Unlike Chasimess i am trying to level her up to be ready for the mage story while Chasimess completed it. I still swear I did a ehhhh job designing her because I swear she looks a-lot like a poster's inq on either this topic or "show your inquisitor". She's easy to play I must say since she's a elven female bow rouge.

I'm following the Divine Election guide in the wiki very carefully because I don't want Cassandra to be Divine this time.  My sexy Lavellan is pursuing her romance .  I hope to make softened Leliana Divine with the conscripted mages- a nice compromise for everyone, and one I hope will make Cass happy.  It will just require a lot of manipulation on my part because Leliana lost a lot of "points" from conscripting the mages- http://dragonage.wik...Divine_election

Been playing a little FC4 myself, and although jumping off cliffs with a wingsuit is probably my favorite thing to do, running things over with an elephant is a close second. Grenading bears is probably third B)

I can see someone making a mod for the Inquisitor to use a wingsuit in DAI.

Someday I will get Far Cry 4 since its a game I'm interested in playing

A DAI wingsuit would be amazing! Flying across the hissing wastes in particular, with so many open vistas and high jumping off points. Hmmm, then they would just need to incorporate the combat grappling system for climbing. Maker, I'd be in heaven!

I can definitely recommend FC4. There are so many random things that happen, and it looks very shiny too.

If the FC4 wingsuit is anything to go by, I don't think I would be such a fan. Only because I tend to die a lot using it (by dashingly crashing into trees). On the other hand there aren't many trees in the Hissing Wastes.

But ditto on FC4, (driving with a grenade launcher FTW).

Found a river valley that was really twisty and winding, and had three bridges crossing it at various points, so I spent an hour (or two  ) practicing my wingsuiting by treating it like a slalom course. Stood on the highest bridge and then tried to get underneath the other two on my way down. Took awhile but I think I got fairly good at it. Still gotta watch out for trees though... And random giant eagle attacks

Hmm, based on that it looks like Leliana might win the prize this game, even though I have the "Support Vivienne" mission at the war table (not gonna do it). Olinar has been pretty much neutral to everyone when talking about it. He's got bigger problems right now, like where the heck is that felandris all his tonics need for the next upgrade?!

Sounds like I need to check out FC4  :P

Once I find a shovel to get out of this DAI hole, of course. Today in Inquisition...

Revas closed the Breach! It went well, surprisingly. What went less well? The army attacking Haven as we were celebrating.

Spoiler

That was not exactly what Revas was hoping to see today. Cole showed up, though, and helped find an escape route for everyone (all of whom Revas managed to save by sheer dumb luck...or a mysterious figure controlling her. Whatever :P ) After dying many times and taking potshots as Varric for an hour fighting valiantly, Revas and crew took down Knight Captain Denam and aimed a trebuchet at the mountain, bringing the whole thing down on us and the newly revealed Elder One. Turns out he was some loony claiming to be a Magister that broke into the Black City - one of the first darkspawn! Revas is inclined to believe him, due to the pet dragon and his whole monologue (arrogant arse) about the Anchor.

Of course, with Haven gone, Revas had to find her way back to the group. It was a long walk across the Frostbacks, but Cassandra, Leliana and Cullen stumbled upon her. Divine bad luck, indeed. They argued, had a random musical number, and another big reveal: the orb Coryfish is using is elven. Revas doesn't think it matters, being lost on a mountain as they are, but Solas tells her to lead what remains of the Inquisition north. Revas thinks he's full of it, but what else were they going to do?

Spoiler

Looks like he was right. Skyhold's a bit run down, but Revas loves it already. To her great surprise, they name her - some elven nobody - Inquisitor! She accepts, not for herself or elves, but to do what is right. Lots of approval for that was a nice bonus  Varric even had someone that could help with the Ancient Magister with a pet dragon problem.

Spoiler

Revas was shocked by how...normal Hawke was. They joked about Qunari, got caught up on old friends, and made plans to meet a Warden associate in Crestwood. Cassandra was furious and flipped a table in Varric's general direction, but then the Inquisitor (gosh, it'll be a while before she's used to that) stepped in. She smoothed things over as best she could without taking sides and the two calmed down enough that she's not too worried about axe-murder in the ranks. Today. Checking that everyone else was settling in nicely took quite a while, but the highlights were Krem's chair antics and Cassandra:

Spoiler

Revas caught her reading one of Varric's novels (smutty literature, apparently!) and was instantly charmed. She convinced the dwarf to write the next chapter for the Lady Seeker. That went well. He'll never let her live it down, but it went well.

Then we set off for Crestwood. Cassandra, Varric and Solas this time. Revas flirted with Harding, then the group ran into a couple Wardens almost immediately. They saved a young woman, who wanted to join their order. Revas could see the appeal but Solas talked her into joining the Inquisition instead. They then left to deal with the undead. Long story short, Revas and co. claimed Caer Bronach for Leliana the Inquisition...or rather, Cassandra did, with Varric standing back with 8 health, taking what shots he could:

Spoiler

Then we found the passage to the dam to reveal Old Crestwood to get to the rift. A dragon flew overhead (which I actually got a screenie of but doesn't want to upload properly so...oops?) and Cassandra made a resigned comment about fighting it. Revas was excited to do so after clearing the zombies out. The rift wasn't too bad with a Templar and mage dispelling what they could, and they even killed a rage demon for a spirit of Command along the way. Then they got distracted by this magnificent shield:

Spoiler

And decided to forget the dragon for now and meet up with Hawke and this Warden of hers. Turns out, it was Alistair - the one that helped the Hero of Ferelden all those years ago!

Spoiler

Revas tried not to sound too excited with her questions. He didn't sound too fond of the HoF and didn't seem too chatty. He explained how the Wardens are hearing the Calling and panicking and suggested we head to some ritual tower in the Western Approach. And that's where I'm at  :)

Times have been turbulent for Ulekarot Adaar. Haven was nuked by a thousand year old Tevinter Darkspawn Magister; he nearly died of exposure in a blizzard; and there was the nice bit with an army of deranged mages now siding with the enemy. And like usual, the force behind the breach was linked to some godforsaken ancient artifact pillaged from a now extinct society. All Dorian's talk of villainous cliches had become a self-fulfilling prophecy. An especially somber moment was also ruined by an inexplicable hymn by that batty old Mother Giselle, who seemed determined to fill his head with more Herald propaganda. Oh, and the magical thingy - now called an Anchor - was also permanently latched on to him, pun unintended. If there really was a Maker - and Ulekarot seriously doubted it - he had a very disturbing sense of humor.

That said, Solas, with an increasingly suspicious knack for resourcefulness, had found them a new "haven" of sorts - he felt particularly punny at the moment - known as Skyhold, which was an equally decrepit but promising fortress. It would have to make due, and with a new weight as the leader of the Inquisition - a new development he found to be a decent concession - he set about getting their organization back on its feet. Over time, he made a few modifications of his own, to add a little personality to the place.

Spoiler

He also acquainted himself with some of the more colorful denizens of Skyhold, including one who had the gall to challenge Ulekarot's title as the undisputed scholar of Thedosian history:

Spoiler

His exploits later led him to meet the legendary Champion of Kirkwall, who he'd heard about during his time with the Valo-Kas in the Free Marches. The same Champion who'd singlehandedly killed an Arishok, was a relatively lithe female mage with the most unusual mix of carrot-colored hair, bronze skin, and green eyes. Nothing he'd ever seen before. However, Hawke, as she liked to be referred to, was a very calm, confident, and assertive character. Her history as the last to defeat their new enemy Corypheus only impressed him. He almost did hate Varric for keeping his knowledge of her secret from Cassandra, but he wouldn't waste his time moping about. It was time to train; no leader could afford to enter battle without the best skills at his disposal.

Is there a way I can somehow get the Seer Staff? I hate RNG to death, and having that apply to single-player was the step in the wrong direction. Some of the loot exploits have been patched already which makes grabbing RNG-tied schematics the hardest schematics to obtain. You may never obtain through your playthrough if the RNG gods are unkind. I got the First Enchanter Staff Schematic without buying it and the Archon Staff Schematic is out of the question.

Today in the Inquisition, Dofni, Blackwall, Cole and Solas claimed Suledin Keep for the Inquisition. Barely gave the desire demon Imshael a chance to speak before we destroyed him. Blackwall said it all anyway with three simple words, "Time to die." Yup that about said it all. By doing so, we were able to recruit one Ser Michel de Chevin as an agent, and in the process of taking the keep, we freed a whole bunch of quarry workers from the town of Sahrnia. Cole really seemed to enjoy that part. ^_^ .

And we wrapped up a boatload of mini-quests, including destroying a bunch of red lyrium deposits. Varric approved all the way from Skyhold, but only slightly. He doesn't seem aas interested in them as he once was, now that his girlfriend (ooops shhh!) closed the deeps roads passage in Valammar. Now we have returned to Skyhold, to set Cullen's troops at the task of restoring the bridge at Judicael's Pass (or whatever it's called). This is a very important operation to Dofni, since it leads to the last seven Emprise du Lion shards, and the last two Emprise du Lion fade rifts, and the last three -- ulp, three! -- Emprise du Lion High Dragons. ... Gonna bring Vivienne in place of Solas and try this time and take them all out, one after the other. Brought along a spare cold-based mage staff for the Highland Ravager and a respec amulet for Vivienne, so I can change her magic focus from fire to cold. Then i won't have to go back to camp and swap out mages. Dorian is a terrible dragon hunter anyway. I suppose I could just take Solas along for all three, though. Nah. My way is more fun. :P

Oh yeah, while we're waiting for some other war table operations to finish up, Varric invited Dofni for a game of Wicked Grace ^_^

EDIT #1: Hivernal is no more. She was truly no match for the diminutive Inquisitor and her fellow dragon slayers. I just... wow... i felt sorry for her, really. The gang hobbled her very quickly, and for about half of her health, all she could do was lay on the ground and screech at us.  I don't often feel bad for slaying these mighty beasts anymore; I regard them as the best fights in the game, and that worthy opponents should be fought, and fought well, and they have the best loot B) ... but... well... poor Hivernal

Spoiler

EDIT#2: Kaltenzan joins her little sister in the afterlife. She at least put up a bit of a fight; she's got all the tricks up her sleeves: screeching to stun, wingbeat whirlwinds, giant snowballs, putting up guard, summoning her kiddies... phew... and ya know I gotta say, I think she's one of the prettiest looking dragons. At least, her colours are. Got a few good screenies from this one:

The Highland Ravager is a dragon's dragon and one mean b***h! One of the best, and toughest dragon fights I've had in nearly three PTs, and totally made up for the ease with which Hivernal was dispatched. I didn't realize, until i was into the fight, that Ravvy outleveled Dofni by one, and everyone else by two... and, uhh, also that I totally didn't swap out Viv's fire-staff for the ice one, like I'd planned  And so I give you... *ahem* attempt #1.
