DLC astrarium question. Not really spoilery but just in case:

Is one of the astrariums bugged? I've done the one close to the Ridgeline Camp 3 times and it won't finish. I'm pretty sure I've done it right at least one of those times. Anyone else have this issue?

 

Also, just to vent, those "pull me" handles are driving me crazy since none of them do anything......yet!  And all the locked doors I can't get into. Argh!

My Qunari mage just became a Necromancer, and is clearing out demons in the Exalted Plains. After he finises that he'll attend Empress Celene's party before moving onto the Emerald Graves and looking for Red Lyrium smugglers for Cullen. 

 

Then he'll go looking for Hawke and Warden Alistair.

Olinar's NM DLC update:

Today Olinar died. A lot. Stupid one-swipe Hakkonite warriors. And the spies. Argh! Last time he died delivering the killing blow to the chieftain guarding some old Tevinter whatsit. When he was revived, his focus meter was set back to 100 max.  It's fixed now but ... gaah. Stupid glitches. And then the door to the whatsit was barred from the other side. Double .

 

On the plus side, all camps are established and 8 of 12 shards are located. And the not-bugged astrarium is solved. That one was tricky. I actually thought it was going to be a bear  but it was some lightning storm thing instead.

I would expect Sera to make a lot of jokes about looking in the mirror when they kiss, and then laugh that zany laugh of hers

Finally got 10 crystal grace for the flower crown. Now to find Suledin Keep, jupp, that was one map I left for a later Quizzy to explore. Well, I'm doing it now. I shall have that flower crown before I start the dlc, no more hugs with Cullen since she finished the game but at least some pretty flowers.

 

Hope that the next dlc has a little bit of new romance in it.

Jaws of Hakkon DLC spoilers to follow...

Today, Maharie, her lover, their BFF, and the Divine had their greatest adventure. Today we defeated dun dun DUN The Nox Morta
 
Spent the day, just wandering around, admiring the beauty of the Frostback Basin, establishing treehouse camps , killing spiders (there are many spiders), collecting shards (four to go), solving astrariums (one to go), and closing rifts (one to go). In our travels they encountered a wildlife researcher named Baron de ... err, something ... He reminded Maharie of Frederic of Serrault in the Western Approach, only with a more outrageous accent. 
 
He asked Maharie to place some herbs at various spots in the area, to keep the local wildlife away from Inquisition outposts, and while we were at it, could we keep an eye out for his assistant, who was surely dead by now. Well, why not? Any excuse to keep wandering this gorgeous land was okay by me. So we placed the herbs and met the assistant, who told us about a dreadful beast, known only in whispered legend, named the Nox Morta.   ... and that he had placed some bait not too far away, but the area was populated by Gurguts and so the Nox Morta would never take the bait. Of course it wouldn't. 
 
So, we found the bait sight, killed some Gurguts (yielded Hardened Gurgut Skin ), picked up what was left of the bait and trap -- surely evidence that the Nox Morta existed -- and returned to inform Baron de mumble mumble that his assistant was all right and that his pursuit of the legendary killer beast was stalled by Gurguts.
 
The Baron gave us some new bait, and a new location to place it. And here, in all seriousness, I have to say that so far this is the most hauntingly beautiful creepy place I've seen in a Bio game yet. We closed a rift (fade-touched silverite yay!) and climbed over some rocks and tree roots and stumbled into Swamp Kuldsdotten.

Bull said it was a wonderful place to get ambushed but at least it wasn't too dry. I think maybe Bull smoked a little of that herb we placed around to keep wildlife away.
 
The screenies I get with FRAPS are usually pretty good (if I do say so myself  ) but the ones I got tonight just didn't do the place justice. I should have spent more time just getting some good photos but... oh well, maybe next time I play this DLC. let me just say that I think even the undead of the Fallow Mire would have felt uncomfortable here, heh. We wandered around a bit, fought some creatures, and did some stuff, and eventually we arrived. It was time to bait the dreaded creature.

Sera: What the...? *giggle giggle giggle* (like she does).

Cassandra was unimpressed. In that tone of voice that only she can muster to show disdain -- Vivienne could learn something, amirite? -- she said, "A bogfisher? Is that a bogfisher?" ...and Sera yelled, "Yeahhhh! Brilliant!" and Bull laughed heartily. ... then we got down to business. It didn't take long. FRAPS apparently has difficulty picking up the Spirit Blade... which makes a certain kind of sense, I suppose... but holy crap it was made for slicing bogfisher flesh!

 When it was over Cassandra said, "I suppose it was a... very agressive bogfisher. Not what I expected!" and Sera simply said, "Best. Bogfisher. Ever." ...and she was right. It yielded this for loot.

The DLC is worth $15 just for this!

I honestly don't think you'll regret it. I hope you don't. I'm already looking forward to playing through this DLC pre-ending in my next game.

The area looks gorgeous and i don't mind fetch quests. No idea why i got affected by some negative feedback. Probably cus i didn't have money for it lol.

Someone said, in another thread, " if you like DA:I then you'll like this." ... and they're absolutely right. From what I've seen so far, I think it fits right in seamlessly with the rest of the game...

As we travelled we passed by some Inquisition soldiers, and I heard one say (something like), "Even though Corypheus is dead, I'm still gonna do my job."

I thought that was pretty cool

If a person can't afford it, that's one thing,  but if a person has a spare $15 of disposable income, then yeah it's worth it.

When you do the war table mission to start the DLC, it recommends you be at least level 20. My post-completion Inquisitor was level 24 to start and some of the fights are damn tough, heh. I've heard that the bad guys will scale to your level a bit. I'm pretty sure that some do. I definitely wouldn't want to go there too early, just to be safe

What did I do today? Got frustrated at how I have no friggin' clue how to get to the Tevinter ruins where Colette is. Still frustrated, since I can't figure it out still.

I like the icons. Too bad I can't have my favorite character from each game be an icon. Hahaha. How cool would that be? Hahaha

Oh, that would be marvellous! I'd probably spend far too long thinking about whose face to have as each icon.

I wonder if they'll do any for the older games?

Mine doesn't recognise ME1/2 since I never played them on this profile. Only have one for ME3 because I needed to register the game to post in the forum!

Ha, this drove me nuts too! Directly to the east of Cliffside Camp is a path that looks like an m on the map. If I remember correctly it should get you there.

Yeah I managed to find it (thankfully) like twenty minutes after I posted my frustration lol.

 

Tip to other players: To get there fast travel to the Avvar stronghold and then leave immediately through the little nook that runs under the cliffs, rather then the other way. That'll take you to the cliffside path right away.

Also we closed a rift that had five Pride Demons pop out of it for the second wave. No screenies because I was slightly in-shock

I almost fell off my chair when they spawned, I had barely survived the first wave with one pride demon. But when I cast Mark of the Rift on them, it sucked them all in! They kneeled before me and then faded to green glitter. Man did I feel like a god!

 

Btw this DLC is sooo frigging cliffy. I never had any problems with Leaping Shot but now Inky catapults himself off of cliffs over and over again. Even managed to fall below the map.

So be careful all you fellow archers!

Thank you! It was hard to decide on his complexion and beard. The last beard option was certainly tempting, but I thought I'd give this one to him instead. I don't think I can remember him beardless like when I first made him.
