Thanks to tinting and traipsing around in Emprise du Lion my little elf is ready to take on the world wearing a flowery bonnet and a pretty blue dress. If anyone finds it somewhat strange that the mighty Inquisitor is a tiny elf in flowers and soft silks they know better than saying so.
And it is scout Harding, I love her to bits. Wanted to ask her all the questions straight away but saving some of them for later because she's so much fun to talk to.

These dragons... I hate having to kill them. So beautiful, but they hold XPs and stuff I needs. Is it worth it? Debatable.

Here Lies the Abyss...
Thegrath fought through Adamant and killed hostile grey wardens and demons while helping allies break through the demons. Coming across a summoning, Thegrath, Hawke, and Alistair, tried to persuade Clarel to stop the summoning of a demon, but being unable to reason with Clarel commands the warden mages to proceed. Left with no alternative, Thegrath asks Blackwall to speak to the wardens to talk some sense into their minds and apparently, it worked. Erimond pleads Clarel to continue, but Clarel wishes to test the Inquisition's claim. Angered by Clarel's decision, Erimond summons Corypheus's dragon to kill us while demons spawn from the Fade rift below. Thegrath and the team takes out the demons and proceed through Adamant to follow Clarel and Erimond. Clarel continues to cast magic on Erimond torturing and blaming him for destroying the grey wardens, but before Clarel could act the Lyrium Dragon snatches Clarel into its mouth and throws her back onto the bridge. Bleeding and dying slowly, Clarel shoots a lightning projectile at the unaware dragon's neck as her last attack. In pain, the dragon destroys the bridge where everyone was standing on. Thegrath and the team struggled to get off the bridge before it collapsed leading to everyone falling off, but just before all hopes were lost, Thegrath uses the anchor to open a rift sucking everyone into the Fade.
Literally falling into the rift, physics within the Fade work differently. Hawke and Alistair confirmed that where they are is the Fade, but it looked different due to them being here physically and not through a dream. Thegrath and the team walk up the path, and lo and behold, Divine Justinia awaited Thegrath's return to the Fade. Justinia greets the Champion, the Inquisitor, and Cassandra. Shocked, Cassandra hesitates to speak until Thegrath asks her if she thought this was the Divine due to their relationship. Unsure, Hawke, Alistair, and Thegrath, question Justinia, but she does not give a straight answer and only says that there is not enough time to prove her existence. Justinia tells Thegrath that he does not remember everything that happened at the Conclave, and Thegrath agrees that he does not. Justinia claims that his memories have been stolen by the nightmare, and the only way to escape the Fade is for him to become whole again. Showing the way ahead, Wisps spawn and Thegrath and the team proceed onward to kill them for Thegrath's memories. Absorbing the memories back into him using the Anchor, the truth is shown. Thegrath's Anchor was not a gift from Andraste but by the orb. With faith shaken, Thegrath was saddened that his gift was not by the Maker or Andraste, but Justinia reassures Thegrath that if he believes it was the will of the Maker that gave him the mark then it was meant to happen, but if he does not nothing had changed.
Taunted and being harassed by fears as the team progressed through the Fade, the team clear out another wave of Wisps which held the remaining memories of Thegrath's lost memories. Seeing what happened before Thegrath stepped out of the Fade, Justinia helped Thegrath escape from the Fade at the cost of her own life. Thegrath was unable to save Justinia. Learning the truth of the Divine, Justinia transformed into a spirit filled with light, but it was never confirmed by the spirit if she was the spirit of the Divine.
After countless checkpoints of killing demons, the spirit that took on the Divine's image guided Thegrath and the team out of the Fade, but before the exit was a giant spider demon and a Fear demon, known as the Nightmare. The spirit told Thegrath to give Leliana a message and then proceeded onward to take down the giant spider demon for the time being, but the Nightmare demon still posed a threat. Thegrath and the team fought the Nightmare while taking down other minions that dared to interevene. Once the Nightmare was defeated, Blackwall, Cassandra, and Varric, went through the exit first, but before Thegrath, Hawke, and Alistair could exit the Fade, the giant spider demon recovered and blocked the exit. Both Hawke and Alistair were willing to die to make sure Thegrath and the survivor would escape(I did both scenarios). Alistair agreed to stay and slowed down the demon allowing Thegrath and Hawke to escape the Fade at the cost of his life.
Returning from the Fade, Thegrath uses the mark to kill the demons by disrupting and closing the Fade rift behind him. Confronted by a grey warden on where Alistair was, Thegrath told everyone that Alistair died a hero. Given the decision to either exile the wardens or to have them join the Inquisition, Thegrath asked the wardens to join the Inquisition. Cassandra was not happy about Thegrath's decision, but she knew that she may not always agree with his decisions.

I almost fell off my chair when they spawned, I had barely survived the first wave with one pride demon. But when I cast Mark of the Rift on them, it sucked them all in! They kneeled before me and then faded to green glitter. Man did I feel like a god!
Btw this DLC is sooo frigging cliffy. I never had any problems with Leaping Shot but now Inky catapults himself off of cliffs over and over again. Even managed to fall below the map.
So be careful all you fellow archers!
Spoiler
That would be the rift, yep. I didn't even think of Mark of the Rift... D'oh! In three-plus PTs now I've used it maybe twice, because I always remove it to make room for other talents. Ah well, Spirit Blade did the trick
The gameplay is extremely frustrating on nightmare with FF on, though. Enemies keep popping up randomly, they are hard to kill and deal insane damage. Game just screams for AoE.
Haven't done any story quests yet, looks promising, will see.

Great screenies! I love that last one of the Avvar. I haven't gotten that close to any of them yet I'll be curious to know how Cole reacts to some of the things you do here.

I am far far away, you can check the minimap. Tactical Screenshot Camera ftw. These guys 2 shot my Cass like...ok. Not to mention the fear demons, mark of the rift is a must for them. The dragons were easier tbh.

Hah, I can't like this enough! She did really shine in this DLC, I hope they continue to flesh her out. And make her romanceable.

It stands for the DA Keep. But yes, i think they are too large, a "hide/show icons" option in the profile settings would be great.
Well i remember when i submitted my games years ago (MASS EFFECT 2 and MASS EFFECT 3 when they were 'new' as an example) the icons were actually decently sized and not as big as they are now. It took me a while to figure out the DAKEEP icon myself until mentioned but I wonder where is my DAA icon. I remember long time ago it was very similar to DAO's icon but it was red in the middle instead of black. Tiz ok. It's nice one of my complaints went away.
Now...about my pictures I stored on this website....where are they?

I quite like the icons, but I agree, they could be smaller. The old BSN icons were decent, but it's been a while and my memory could be playing tricks on me I know which one you mean, Naclyn, but I don't think there is a DAA icon now, it's just the DAO one.
Revas's adventures today - Halamshiral!
Spoiler
Mistimed arrival screenie:
Revas looking awkward in formal attire:
To say she hated it would be an understatement. Politics, "rabbit," itchy tight uniforms, dancing with traitorous murderers...the highlight was getting to see everyone else there. Dorian got drunk, Cassandra was about as pleased as Revas and Cullen had a bit of a following ("who are all these people?" "I don't know but they won't leave me alone!" Also, his headache was preferable to the company. Poor guy.). Leliana and Vivienne were enjoying it immensely, though. Not so surprising about Madame de Fer, a bit unnerving with Leliana. Revas managed to turn in all of the secrets to her, at least. Anything to keep Sister Scary happy.
She also got to meet Yvette, Josephine's youngest sibling, which was nice. She thinks she'd like to spend more time with Josie's family (and, uh, not just to get more embarrassing stories, honest!) but after Revas said she'd already packed their bags when Yvette asked if they were joining the Wardens and moving to the Anderfels, it'll probably be a while before the Ambassador lets that happen
Anyway, to catch an assassin...
Revas met a certain Witch of the Wilds:
Spoiler
She gave Revas a key, which Revas used to get a break from the nobles explore the Servants Quarters, where she found a bunch of dead servants (surprise, surprise) and was attacked by Venatori. There was also a dead emissary with a Chalons dagger in his back. Literal backstabbing!
Spoiler
Obligatory album cover screenie:
After finding an elven locket in the Empress's vault and meeting Briala, Revas and co. returned to the ballroom, where she told Grand Duchess Florianne she was seeing someone and of course still had to dance with her. Sigh. (I didn't manage to get any decent screenies, but let's just say Revas must have gotten a lot of dancing lessons from Vivienne and Josephine before coming here.) Florianne pointed the finger at Gaspard, the Advisors were divided on who should rule and told Revas to decide. Revas decided she needed more info. Off to the Royal Wing!
Here she kicked a baddie out a window, untied one of Gaspard's idiots from a bed and told him to keep it quiet about the Empress doing that to him, and rescued a merc from Florianne and some demons - then hired him for the Inquisition. He thought Gaspard tried to kill him over a bill. Revas wouldn't have been surprised. Anyway, Florianne did the whole big villain "this is my plan" monologue, and the group rushed back to the ballroom...
Only for Revas to tell them to wait for Florianne to kill Celene. Briala was not pleased (Revas had showed both her and Celene the locket) and Revas was surprised by just how horrible it actually was to let an Empress die. She chased Florianne out and made quick work of her (fun fight! I've always talked to her before, so this was a nice change) and returned once more to the ballroom. She doesn't trust Gaspard, thinks he's an idiot that's just going to start more wars, but she had to use him to put Briala in a real place of power. Exhausted, she stepped out onto the balcony for some air. Morrigan followed her.
Spoiler
Pretty much completely describes every Bioware protagonist, no?
Revas welcomed her to the Inquisition. On her way back inside, Morrigan passed by Josephine. Revas can't remember the last time she was so happy to see someone. Josie comforted her about letting Celene die, and obliged her when asked to dance. The whole thing was very nearly worth it just for that.
Shame I couldn't get a screenshot of that...
We're back in Skyhold now. Not sure how I feel about how things worked out. I saved right before the big decision and I might go back later - reconciling Celene and Briala is still my favourite ending, and I went in expecting to do that. But hey, variety is good...right?
Oh, and a few screens because I took a bunch (and finally got around to backing most of them up on a USB):
Cassandra's reaction to the naked guy chained to the bed just because I Revas thought she looked really good, especially in Warden armour...

Not sure if folks saw this over in the Patch Notes thread. Some of the new DLC materials have issues when crafting shields:
Known Issues: New tier 4 metals introduced in the Jaws of Hakkon DLC result in an armour rating of zero when used to craft shields. Please do not use Ice Dragon Bone or Veil Quartz in the armor slot of a shield, as it will craft an item with 0 armour. We are working to resolve this issue.
.
Don't be sad. The Archon Staff is not worth it. You're way better off with the First Enchanter Staff. Go save Bull's team.
.
See...
If you bought the new DLC you don't have to kill those dragons anymore. You will get plenty of T4 crafting materials in the Frostback Basin.
Was that an idea?
On PS4, and so, I'll have to wait until the day Bioware decides to make the DLC a standalone DLC. Also, I wanted the Archon Staff for Vivienne since the unique Archon Staff is lightning instead and I wanted it ice.
So, this alone made the DLC worth it for me. This and Scout Harding.
It really does. I laughed so hard when Olinar said that line.
I haven't done the rest of that quest though. I'm finding that I'm having to skip a lot of the posts in the thread now, just 'cause I don't want to be spoiled (too much )
Thegrath, Iron Bull, Varric, and Cassandra, investigated the Shrine of Dumat. They met a scholar of Tevinter, Erasthenes, who was bind to a bubble and forced to tell the truth of whatever he was asked. Erasthenes told Thegrath that Calpernia would become the vessel for Corypheus, but whatever Calpernia wishes to become as the vessel will never happen because she will be nothing, but like how Erasthenes is now but only perfect. Faced with a hard decision to either help Erasthenes by killing him, or letting him live, Thegrath chose to let him live in hopes that the Inquisition scouts can find some way to undo the bubble without killing him.

Last night, I handled just about all my companions' personal quests (except for Vivienne's little wyvern hunting request - sorry, my dear, but that snowy wyvern heart has to wait until later) and cleared the Storm Coast. Then I moved on to the Exalted Plains and stopped for an extremely late gaming session with Bloodborne, which I ended up failing at for two hours (and then I failed some more at it all day today...but I sort of got a little better towards the end...a little...).
Now it's time for a nice, soothing few hours with DA:I. I figure I won't die horribly and be curling up in a fetal position like I was earlier. All things considered, I now realize that burning pits filled with bodies in the Exalted Plains is a LOT more relaxing than dealing with very large and angry werewolves while wielding a threaded cane (although the whip mode is cool...).
You guys rock, thanks for keeping the DLC in spoiler tags. I'm playing the ME series while I wait for a bit to pick up the DLC. I know that Patch 7 is on the way, so I'll probably go back to my elf after that.

Really? Another patch? I'm scared of patching, because I need my loot exploits. I'd break DA:I in half if they patched all of the exploits.

Yep, another patch. You can see why I went to replay the ME series again for a little while. My Shep just started ME2.
I was just saying to someone else that it's kinda like walking a minefield in here at the moment, to avoid DLC spoilers. It's not that bad, and I agree: everyone has done an amazing job of keeping the spoilers at bay. I salute you all! ... but it's still not easy to avoid them at times, especially if you haven't finished it yet, heh.
So there's another patch coming? Wow, I bet the modders aren't too happy about that. Ah well, maybe best to just wait until all the patching and DLC'ing is completely done before modding
I'm just putting everything on hold. Modding is a small part of it, but I've been watching the forums for bug reports. There have been a few in relation to the DLC, and I know this next patch is going to probably make things a little wonky again. I'm content to wait though. I'm in no big rush. Several years of MMOs in my past helped teach me patience with patch cycles.
Since folks have been so nice about spoiler tags, I'll be reading more. I have been recommending this thread to a couple of really nice people that want a fun place to hang out.

Ugh, I had just finally gotten around to putting some mods into my game, and was just gonna fire it up for the first time to check them out -- or to at least get closer to Skyhold -- when patch 6 was released and I had to remove them all. I think I'll wait a while on the mods now too, though.... and that's awesome. It's a good group of people here, and the more the merrier I say.
