Not sure if folks saw this over in the Patch Notes thread. Some of the new DLC materials have issues when crafting shields:

Known Issues: New tier 4 metals introduced in the Jaws of Hakkon DLC result in an armour rating of zero when used to craft shields. Please do not use Ice Dragon Bone or Veil Quartz in the armor slot of a shield, as it will craft an item with 0 armour. We are working to resolve this issue.

http://forum.bioware...h-notes-thread/

Also in Patch 6, the mosaic pieces for "The Fall" have been relocated so they should all be findable now.

Ohh great! Thank you for posting. Then I will let my Adaar go hunting for them. Haven't gotten a single completed mosaic yet so this will be fun.

Yep, another patch.   You can see why I went to replay the ME series again for a little while.   My Shep just started ME2.

Are you going to post your playthrough in the thread?

For those of you that play on the ps3 and downloaded the latest patches/updates. Have you noticed that the text looks smaller? It does for me.

My cat killed a ghoul. I was walking around on the Storm Coast when my cat wanted attention, so I pushed the keyboard back, which he stepped on. He stepped on one of the hot keys, which launched Winter's Grasp (or whatever it's called) and killed a ghoul. Good boy.

Your 'capping and punning skill is an honour to behold, FiveThreeTen

I'm quite looking forward to this DLC now. I read somewhere (twitter, maybe?) that Black Emporium will be coming out in early May. Maybe we'll get this at the same time? It'd be pretty cool to get both, though I'm sure my wallet would disagree.

Short report (maybe not a pun, but it rhymes. Can I get a like for this? No? ...Hey, where'd everybody go? It wasn't that bad!  :P ) since my save file got messed up and I don't feel like going back just yet: Revas popped over to the Hissing Wastes real quick to get some new schematics. We ran over a spider, two rams and a wyvern (it didn't like that and tried to murder us for it) on the way and a merchant puppy helped us kill some more spiders. Then...plaidweave! Er, that is, we went back to Skyhold to make everyone some new armour. Which Revas, ever with the brilliant fashion sense, decided to tint with plaidweave! Ah, how glorious we all were. I'll take screenshots next time because everyone loves plaidweave, right?  :P

It isn't a big deal for PC players. But I think Bioware is pestering those on a console. They should definetely let people have the exploits. It's completely ridiculous how they remove them. It really feels like sadism to be honest.

If you're on a PC you get Cheat Engine and/or a trainer. End of story. But what do console owners do? Not a thing. It's a very complicated process to cheat on a console.

I think Bioware is being the opposite of decent towards console players. With Dragon Age: Inquisition they begin to summon a certain smell around them. Sadism. They aught to be ashamed of them selves. Seriously.

The thing is that people wants to modify games. If it's ingame graphics or cheating with values and access points. That's just the way it is. It's in the blood of most gamers. It's exactly the reason why many people play games: They like the challenge and finding ways to make things easier. To some it's the goal, to others it's the process.

But I can tell you the exact reason why they fix the exploits: Money

By closing the exploits you will probably buy more DLC's and extras. DLC's that offers you more goodies to make you stronger.
Who wants to buy the Digital Deluxe Edition if you can farm amulets and generate money by the duplicate item glitch? Nobody. The gear you get with many DLC's are weak and a waste of money. Unless it has specific something to do with new clothing, party chest or configurations. Nobody buys DLC with useless items.
In other terms: If they don't close the exploits they are forced to deliver story and nice graphics. They can't make cheap and fast money on worthless items.

Same goes with modding. It's not a good thing if a game is easy to mod. That means people make their own designs and cheats.

What's worse is that the the good stuff come in very late in the game unless you grind like crazy and become like level 21 where you can start getting more Tier 3 schematics. I'm level 20 with Thegrath and I haven't bothered to complete Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. All of this RNG crap destroys the game and it doesn't help when the game is 75% fetch quests. If you excluded side quests and the power point system, DA:I would be like 3 hours.

The Short List perk sucks, and the best Tier 3 schematics are so hard to find. By the time you find the ones you want, you're already starting a new playthrough that is if you haven't quit the game already due to fetch quests and RNG looting. I just want Bioware to put these stupid things in Merchant stores. DA:I has become one of those games where I do not wish to play by the rules.

Same here.

I detest the way they lenghten the playtime with completely uninteresting fetch quests and collecting. If that is what I wanted I'd just play the oldschool RPG's.

What we want is:
1. Story - a long and good one told well.
2. Beautiful graphics, sounds and UI to present this story.
3. Influence on the story and gameplay.

4. Lots of options to customize the game and contents.

What we really want is the illusion of playing in a digital movie our selves, with a lot of freedom. With you as the main character. That's what we want.
No? Is it not? Why do you play RPG's and not first person shooter or strategy games then?

They forgot that Bethesda released Skyrim with a Creation kit. RPG lovers are way more spoiled than five or ten years ago. Bioware is not the only game producer in the world. It all fits into a higher unit. When Bethesda spoiled us with the option to have this extremely heavy influence on the game they will not be happy with having to say goodbye this freedom again. Once is is done it is too late. You can't revert this.
I think Booware miscalculated the situation. What will happen when the next top game is released with lots of freedom plus nice graphics? Bioware will loose in the end if they don't lighten up a bit and follow the evolution on the market.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has become too much collecting and non-essential quests. You forget the point of the story in all this collecting. As you say the game would be finished in if not 3 then 20 hours max. if you rip the futile empty concept away.

What Bioware really should do, and has a chance to do, is create a real role playing game where the story is 70 - 90% of the contents. DAI represent the direct opposite with 30 - 10% story.

There is a limit of how much filler you can put into a game before it become ridiculous.

Bioware forces us to use cheats and mods because they close the exploits.

And let me be completely honest right now: I would never have downloaded Cheat Engine if they had left the exploits open and also fixed the cutscene crashes. The result is I use my time on modding the game because I'm extremely bored with collecting herbs, metals, cloth, shards, mosaics and-what-ever comes to mind. I couldn't play the game properly. What was I to do? And then they removed the only thing that took away the boring part? Before I got Cheat Engine I was satisfied with the exploit. I didn't use it very much. Just a litttle here and there. But with Cheat Engine an entire world revealed it self in front of me. Why not get 2000 dragon scales instead of 50? It's just a click with your left mouse button. Why wait until I collect all shards? All 114 is just a click away with your mouse.

No, it's definetely the wrong thing they did. Because in some way they ruined the game for me. They should have let me have just a little tiny exploit, instead of forcing me to get the whole mega pack of cheats and become annoyed with wasting even more of my time? The illusion is very hard to obtain and preserve when you have to cheat this way.

Fix the damn cutscene crashes, Bioware! And quit closing the exploits to force us do the boring stuff. Be an honest game company: Make good role play and stories!

God what a terribly boring game it would be if I were the main character...

Yeah, I ended up just rushing to the Hissing Wastes to get the Prowler Armor schematic as soon as I could. There was a mod on the nexus which prevented you from having to bend and stop to harvest things around you but patches. An auto-loot system would have been welcomed too.

I felt like capping, don't know why. This is my crazy/silly Rogue run, it apparently influences my posts :X

I'd say it's bit overpriced but better than I anticipated. It's nice to have some new lore related content. Definitely must be played at high level though.

Right now you're the inquisitor. In DAO you were the warden. In Mass Effect you were Commander Shepherd.

Then change it to 'the central character'. But it is still in the terms of you being the main character.

No I am not.  Well not in the way I play the games anyways.  I do grant you you can play the games that way but I am not Commander Shepard.  Commander Abigail Shepard is.  Same for Malcolme Cousland and Benjamin Trevelyan.

I tried to avoid rushing the Hissing Wastes this time. When I do that, I tend to get lazy and skip massive bits of the Wastes themselves when I get around to going back, then the armour just feels a bit...OP. I've been running around in the same Warden armour since Crestwood and still find NM substantially easier than the past two games, though, so meh. Rush on!  :P

And that statement about not bending to pick up loot? Very confused for much longer than I'd like to admit - I blame it on having just watched Legend of Korra

I like it! Crazy/silly rogues are fun

Now I just want to stick everyone in plaidweave and drag Vivienne along with me everywhere. Oh, wait, I already am

Anyway, Revas spent the day dealing with the Emprise du Lion. We cleared out everything but the stuff on the other side of the bridge (namely, the dragons). We found an old Deep Roads entrance, abandoned by the Wardens and starting to be taken over by darkspawn. Revas grabbed Blackwall, Bull and Solas and played at being Wardens for a bit. Very fun.

We also found this not-suspicious-at-all pyramid:

Spoiler

Which turns out is actually very suspicious, indeed:

Spoiler

Then we went to claim Suledin Keep and Revas accidentally jumped through a snow drift, fell down a long, dark, winding, creepy flight of stairs and came across this gem that she immediately stuck on Cassandra (and turned helmets on because what's more dramatic than walking around like this for the rest of the game?) :

Spoiler

The group actually took the Keep, after that. The flower crown totally saw us through that fight, I'm sure. Returning to Skyhold, Morrigan showed Revas something that finally made her feel how the Dalish must when they talk about their lost glory: the Crossroads of the Eluvians.

Spoiler

She's not a very elf-y elf, but this place was incredible! She didn't particularly want to leave, wanted to know more (for a change). She and Morrigan talked more back at Skyhold, and Morrigan introduced her to her son, Kieran (this is so not the world state I thought it was. Sorry, Alistair.) Odd little boy, but Revas has enough sense not to say that to a powerful mage. Afterwards, I finally decided to talk to Varric for my favourite scene:

Spoiler

Wicked Grace is fun! Revas is terrible at it (nearly as bad as Cassandra, but she keeps betting more instead of walking away with her dignity) but it didn't matter because she's never seen the entire group in one room like this, let alone actually relaxing, having this much fun. Varric told the story about that time, at Chateau Haine...and Josephine conned Cullen out of all his clothes. Ah, good times. Varric and Revas agreed that once this was all over, they'd do it again  :)

In the meantime, Revas got a few more companion quests (avoiding Blackwall for a bit - about to be his big revelation) and just has Hissing Wastes, Forbidden Oasis and the rest of Emprise du Lion before the big confrontation with Coryfish. Bit sad, actually. Revas is my favourite Inky so far.

And did somebody say Scout Harding?

Well, yesterday Inquisitor Adaar went to Celene's masquerade ball, gave all the blackmail information he had to everyone, and got the three leaders to work together. He hates politics.

Then he judged Florianne to be the Inquisition's jester. He needed a laugh.

Then he went to Crestwood, took a keep, drove out some bandits, drained a lake, sealed all the rifts in the area, met Warden Alistair who told him as a Warden you get bunnies then killed his third dragon.

And he found out that Charter, that elven scout in charge of the Keep, he remembers her from Haven talking to a scout near the front gate and helping him figure out things are more complicated than blaming mages or blaming templars. No, really, she's that elven scout just inside the gate by that first house.

So now Inquisitor Adaar is tracking the traitor to Leliana and the runaway mayor while happily riding around on a dracolisk.

If you've proximity heal and lifeward, regen potions on Cassandra/your tank can do amazing things. Assuming survivability is your problem, not that there's just a million things killing you.

I'm sure Vivienne greatly approves.

Y'know, she and Inky were just trying to get Cassandra in a dress...for very different reasons, I'm sure.

So, Spork's recent victory inspired me to try taking out all three Emprise dragons in one go...on NM. Revas killed the first two in one go (with the wrong weapons again, because evidently I just can't get this right even when I know better) and gave a half-hearted attempt at the Ravager. Got her to 143k hp out of 311k, then she called in more (and by that, I mean too many) of her babies. Revas took one look at them and decided to keel over right then and there. Vivienne sneered until she was taken down, Varric was already enjoying a nice dirt nap and Cassandra [disgusted noise]ed us all and was quickly overwhelmed before she could get anybody to get off their lazy butts and help.

So in short, I could probably kill her (probably without restocking, if I really wanted to test my patience :P ) but decided to let her get her beauty sleep while the group heads out to the Wastes for some better crafting materials and schematics.

On an unrelated note, I just noticed I somehow missed chapter one of Hard in Hightown this playthrough. I've gotten it on all the others but...I can't remember where  :P Anybody happen to know where to find it?
