Today’s dragon killing day! The team took on the Northern Hunter, which didn’t take too long. The only one who took real damage was Dorian, from those electricity rings.
Spoiler
Sera was beside herself with glee about killing it. “Big frigging heroes, right?” I’d have thought saving Crestwood is more heroic than killing a big dragon, but hey. Whatever Arls your Eamon.

Then it was off to deal with the Ferelden Frostback. This time Iron Bull got to join us, since dragons are one of his favourite things. She seemed to have a strange grudge against Dorian. Despite two warriors challenging her, and Trev stabbing her ankles, the big girl just wanted to swat Dorian around like a nug. Then there was the fly-by fire bombing.
Spoiler
I’d forgotten that she’s actually rather pretty!

Since the palace will be the first major quest, I want to lock Cassandra’s romance beforehand. That means actually getting the cutscene for it! Trev went back to Emprise to kill her targets, then the Emerald Graves. He got a little cocky when marking sites on the map, and look on two giants at once. Poor Dorian was the world’s punching bag again. Fortunately the brontos were staying away.

It had all been pretty plain sailing up until now. Dragons, giants, who cares – we’re invincible, right?
Spoiler
Wrong!  :pinched:
Nasty crap came pouring out of this rift and was killing off party members before Trev knew what hit them. One minute he was stood next to Dorian at reasonable health, next the guy was flat on the ground, KO’d!
Then Sera. Then Cassandra. Panic!
Spoiler
But he can’t run away! He’s the Inquisitor, and a Knight Enchanter. If his barrier holds, he can get Cassandra up, then Dorian, then Sera.

As predicted, once Cassandra was back on her feet, she started laying into the demons again. Trev face-planted seconds after reviving Dorian. Moustache man hit the ground a second later. :wacko: It was just Cass then, getting hammered on all sides. And since I have no idea how to play a warrior, she died. Game over, man.  :blush:

Second attempt, I tried to keep the mages and Sera close together for regular barrier renewals. This meant Cassandra was unprotected and went down as everything hit her at once. Once attention was turned to the squishy members, I actually looked to see what exactly had come out of the rift.
Spoiler
Now I know why it’s so tough! It’s one of those nasty Fear demons. Trev did a mad sprint over to Cass to get her up, and we all made a combined attack on the fear demon, with Dorian casting barriers. Once it was dead, the fight went smoother and the despair demons could be picked off. After such a tiring day, I think everyone’s owed a drink at the Herald’s Rest. The Herald certainly needs some frigging rest!  :P

+1 for no more nugskin, another +1 for a fellow city elf in DAO  :wizard: And yes, FT Hidden Blades does in fact stack with the ability. If it triggers while you're doing the rogue assassin thing, it can deal pretty massive damage. I think that's why that dragon went down so quickly for me yesterday, and I didn't even have the actual ability. Speaking of massive damage, Revas somehow managed to hit over 9000 (hehehe) with Deathblow. Let it never be said little daggers don't do big damage  :P

 Nice screenies! Love those dragon fights, but I have to wonder what makes Dorian such a target? Could it be the moustache? Or is it just that no one in the game likes 'vints? :P ...LOL poor Trev. The things he'll do for love! Well, Cabot always has a cheery word to make him feel better :whistle:

Well, you know, it's not that I dislike nugs, but they do make some snazzy looking duds. Kubrie can't help it that she needs a lot of them to make a big enough coat... I mean, uh, look! Over there, it's a subject change! Thanks for the info about the Hidden Blades. Eventually my inquisitor will be a killing machine B) I guess it's just like the other classes and there are some growing pains in the early levels. I promise she'll be wearing a better coat by then, and it won't be just tinted to look different. :whistle:

Explored the Emerald Graves, helped Fairbanks, found ancient elven ruins that held a secret I gave to the Keeper in the Exalted Plains, and on a quest to find Samson, Solas, Varric, Cole and I were nearly slaughtered by 5 giants! Talk about overkill... and bodies... so many bodies! After taking a break to play Wicked Grace and watch Cullen lose in a most embarrassing way, we're off to seek out another elven ruin.

My go to party this time will feature Iron Bull of course -- I'm going to respec him for sword-and-shield so he wont die so much --  and I'm thinking of alternating Varric and Sera, and also alternating Viv and Dorian. I'm really leaning towards Varric this time, because in three PT's, I've never taken him anywhere unless I had to. And I'm also leaning towards Dorian for mage support. Siding with the mages will mean greater involvement for him anyway. Maybe he and Kubrie can form a friendship.

I haven't had any issues with IB dying this game (so far). Not even during the dragon fights. Not sure if it's because I'm on easy mode, or because I've ignored his specialization and have put all his points into 2H and Vanguard (the purple one). He's keeping his guard up like a good boy. :)

I am still on nightmare but I decided to turn the friendly fire off.

You had FF turned on?! :blink:  I may have been crazy enough for NM with a squishy mage, but I'm not that much of a glutton for punishment! I can just imagine how that would have gone:

Dorian: You know, Amatus, I may not like the cold but that doesn't mean I want you to set me on fire.
Olinar: ::snickers::
Dorian: ::casts Horror::
Olinar: ::runs away screaming and trips an ice mine::
Sera: ::ROFL::
Cass: ::disgusted noise::

Yeah, that would have been a bad idea. :P

My current playthrough, Iron Bull is using a sword and shield and hasn't died at all on nightmare mode. I'm also using Cole as an archer and he does very well on nightmare mode. Of course I make them look good playing as a knight enchanter

Today, Revas finally decided to advance the main plot and we headed to the Arbor Wilds, Cassandra, Varric and Solas in tow.

Spoiler

We ran into the new ruler of Orlais, some Red Templars, all of the advisors (Leliana greeted Inky cheerfully, Cullen ignored Inky entirely, and Josie and Inky worried over each other), and some...unusual elves. Then we finally found the Temple of Mythal. Coryfish wasn't far behind and the group witnessed first hand his immortality. Naturally, they ran for it.

Those pesky templars decided to just blast a hole through the temple and Revas wasn't about to waste her time with a few rituals for some long dead god she's not even sure she believes in while her soldiers are getting killed (they're not really, being 3 levels over the Red Templars...but I needed an excuse to try something I've never tried before, and this was it  :P ), so she jumped in after them. Took longer than the rituals would've, but she doesn't know that, and didn't care much that Solas Greatly Disapproves because what else is new.

Because we skipped the rituals, however, the elves were less than friendly. Revas tried talking to them, using their common enemy, but they wouldn't listen. The group was forced to kill them and find their own way through the temple. Morrigan, of course, ran off to stop Abelas destroying something called the Well of Sorrows. That was fine, they found their way with relative ease...and at the end of it? Samson himself.

Spoiler

Revas used Dagna's handy-dandy armour-breaking rune and it was a quick fight after that. Ever with the impeccable timing, Abelas showed up with Morrigan on his tail. We chased them up to the Well where Revas tried to talk him down, get him to just walk away with his life...but he still tried to bring it all down - Revas and co. with it, and him - and Morrigan killed him for it. Revas objected half-heartedly, sure now, perhaps thanks to Josie's influence, that there was another way. Still, this was easiest and a few short months ago, she'd have done the same.

Of course, that left the matter of the Vir'Abelasan itself. Conveniently, the eluvian was there too, but more on that in a bit...Revas argued that nobody should have the power of the Well, asked Solas if he would do it, then what everyone else thought (Cassandra said if someone had to, let it be Morrigan)...then allowed Morrigan to (which Cassandra disapproved of! After saying Morrigan should! Wha...). Revas wasn't going to do it herself, obviously, and if it was truly so important, well, Morrigan could deal with the consequences, too.

Spoiler

No sooner had this concluded than Cory and his pet dragon showed up to try to stop us. Remember that convenient mirror? Yeah, the group jumped through it to get away. Coryphenis crashed right into the thing and it shattered (that's 7 years bad luck, man!) and the group found themselves safely back in Skyhold.

Once back, Morrigan, Revas and the advisors talked about what went on and what our next move is. Our forces are still in the Arbor Wilds and the baddies are all but finished - we just have to deal with the not-Archdemon. Morrigan says the voices in her head told her this and, concerned, Revas went out to the garden to talk to her once the War Room meeting was adjourned. She wasn't there, though. Revas found Leliana in the room with the eluvian in a bit of a panic. Seems Kieran activated the mirror and ran through. Morrigan chased after him and Revas followed the both of them in while Leliana went for help (at a leisurely pace. Really, Leliana, if you're truly so concerned perhaps you should move a bit faster!).

Revas found herself in the Fade - physically. Again. Sigh - and found Morrigan first. Revas promised to help her search for Kieran, thinking better of mentioning the fact that if the Fade is infinite, they could be there literally forever. They weren't there forever, however, as some weird family reunion transpired when they stumbled upon the boy. He was with some seemingly crazy old woman who turned out to be Morrigan's mother, who in turn wound up being Mythal, but is actually a Witch of the Wilds! It's all rather confusing, and something about Kieran having the soul of an Old God? Right, Revas isn't keeping up well, but in the end Morrigan found a means to match the dragon and Kieran was back with her safely and that's all Revas really cared about.

We'll be talking to companions and clearing out the last map, Forbidden Oasis, next and then I guess I'm done  :?

Ah, and because everyone likes dragons and I meant to include pics last time:

First time I killed Sandy (30k+ a hit is a bit over the top, so this was all I got):

Last time I killed Sandy (because I'd killed her three times already, I didn't think to screenie until this  :pinched: ) :

So... major epic fail during that trip to Dumat... first off, Cullen got blown skyward and off the map by that giant red templar monster, so I had to restart it due to Cullen's creepy disembodied voice as I entered the shrine, then I completed the mission properly and the whole world literally fell apart around me when I got back to Skyhold... that music... *shudder* it was so scary I decided to jump to my death!

Spoiler

Suddenly I was in the Undercroft and everything was normal again. I blame Solas. I fell through his floor. He must have a secret entrance to the Fade he's hiding from everyone!

As I leave to find Cullen, in the distance I can still hear that blasted music box!

It's actually not blank, it's just a very light colour. I can tell you what it is or take a screenie later, if you'd like  :) But yeah, creepy sh*t happens around Skyhold sometimes, when you fall through the floor...

Anyway, big day in Inquisition for Revas today, but I'll try to keep it short.

First, she talked to all her gloomy companions and said their goodbyes, then headed out with Cass, Viv and Varric (as always) to the last map: the Oasis. We found an interesting boarded area on the ground, which Revas fell through and of course only Varric was concerned - got a new sword out of it, at least. Then we found a bottle...and not the second one I needed, so I'm missing that and one tile from one mosaic. Someday, I'll go back and collect those. In the meantime, we cleared out all of the Oasis then breached (get it?) the heart of the Solasan temple to get a fancy new dagger and some other stuff that won't matter because it's so late in the game  :P

Then, we headed home for the last time. Revas went to the War Room to discuss what to do, when Coryphifish decided for us: he opened the Breach again! With our forces still in the Arbor Wilds, Revas had to go without backup, but it wouldn't be right to not take those that had stood beside her through it all (because if she's going to die, why not bring her closest friends and allies down with her?) and so she took Cassandra, Varric and Vivienne with her.

Spoiler

So, ancient darkspawn magister, floating ground, giant growing hole in the sky, and a big dragon fight. Eventful stuff...once I got my PS4 to stop crashing  :P Morrigan was true to her word and fought the Archdemon herself while Revas and the others tried to take down Corypheus. He didn't exactly put up a good fight, but it as fun nonetheless. And then, to no one's surprise, we got to fight another dragon: the Archdemon  :D

Spoiler

With that defeated, we went for Corypheus himself. The Breach was spreading, and it was now or never, so Revas made it a quick fight with a TC (no Flasks or other buffs this time, so it only dropped him to about 20% hp instead of outright killing him  :) ) and after a bit more flailing, the big blighted bastard finally died and the Breach was closed for good!

Spoiler

Solas was heartbroken the orb had been destroyed, and Revas apologised. She wasn't a huge fan of the guy, but she knew how much it meant to him. On the bright side, world: saved! And the others, including Morrigan, were all there and okay!

Spoiler

Solas disappeared and everyone else returned to Skyhold to celebrate (er, winning, not his disappearance).

Spoiler

And Leliana's got people looking for Solas to drag home for some rest and relaxation:

Spoiler

And that's it! Knowing there's DLC made it easier to finish the game, since I'll be coming back to Revas to play it all. Oh, and final power, level, etc.

Spoiler

And the big decisions under another cut because it got long:

Spoiler

So that was a lot of fun! Definitely my favourite Inky so far and DW Tempest is my new favourite specialisation now, too  :D

Not entirely sure what to do with my free time now. Start another Inky with the weird World State I thought I was using this time? Start Mass Effect again? Replay all of the DA series again? Choices, choices  :P

Currently running through the Wilds, trying to get the jump on Cory. A very timely moment just occurred that made me smile. Near the entrance to Mythal, I jumped down from the bridge to attack a red Templar and just as another came at me from a different direction, ready to shield bash me, I realized I was still standing and he wasn't. Cullen had jumped in front and saved me. Makes me regret romancing Solas who's done nothing to protect me all game. Cole has been my bodyguard most of the time.  -_-
