Yesterday Jaega reluctantly went back to the Plains since there were still 3 rifts to close in the Crow Fens. On the way, they found the Dead Hand tomb and, despite no one being able to follow the simple direction, "Stay put," managed to light all the circle things to find some nice loot. And an arcane horror. They went out the tomb's back entrance and into the swamp proper. The first thing they saw once back outside: a big ol' dragon flying overhead. Bull started to get excited but Jaega reminded him they had work to do before they could go play with the big critter.
Closing the rifts is becoming second nature to Jaega, so it didn't take them long. Just had to watch out for the gurguts. The last rift just happened to be right next to where the dragon was taking a sulfur bath. It took off and flew around the area as they moved closer, then came in for a landing and a fight.

I like killing mean ol' dragons that are a danger to people/things/whatever. Not pretty ones that just like to have some fun in the water. Ah well, once I get some decent schematics, her sacrifice will be remembered in the coming empire....
That's the main thing I did yesterday. Also helped Cass track down the real (psycho) Lord Seeker Lucius and turned him into a pincushion. Haven't talked to her about the book yet.
IB romance update:
Spoiler
Gave Bull the dragon tooth after multiple interruptions. Don't people know how to knock? Sheesh! I'm still not sure how I feel about this romance. It's kind of giving me Jacob/Anders vibes, as in, only doing it to see the content and not 'cause I really like it? I do like IB as a character though, which is more than I can say for the other two guys. Anyway, I'll play it out to the end, but I think IB is definitely friend-zone material only.

I activated enough of the elven relics that I got a war table mission from solas. After 13 hours that mission led me to a large rift in the Hinterlands that needed to be closed.

Well I decided to take up Chaismess up again (female human DWK rouge) and started hitting the EXALTED PLANES. Initially i was getting destroyed there (bloody arcane horrors. Just like the one arcane horror in the Tallis DLC these guys still can kill you in seconds regardless of them being at 11 while i'm at 14/now 15). I was able to take the western and easter forts and worked my way east to do Solas's ALL NEW, FADED FOR HER quest:
Spoiler
Darn stupid mages were messing with Solas's spirit friend so I decided to mess with the barriers. After the spirit departed Solas was not a happy camper.
so...
Jerks. Like what I did for Vyre Dite I had them killed out of principle than anything else. I didn't give Solas any lip at all.
I kind of hit the Hinderlands and did that one cavern mission (not Verric's). I had a awesome moment there which i wish I could of recorded. I used (deathblow? the final attack in the SUBERTUFUGE pool) to a darkspawn and knocked him off a bridge and he plumietted and i landed on-top of his corpse. It was so bada**.
I decided to switch to Lylia On for a bit (female elf bow rouge)
Spoiler
(Sorry for some reason it was taking me forever to post these gifs here so I just posted these links here instead).
Lylia On had a run in with Corypheus and scared him away. man was he easy on NORMAL compared to Chasimess on NIGHTMARE. so I reached SKYHOLD and met some of my allies. Also I took Vivianne's advice and shoo'd off Cole.

I made a second spoiler? That's odd. Well anyway I also met Nyre On who's my Hawke (also part of a set storyline of mine called: "The wives of On").
.
Was a simple meet and greet. I had other stuff going on today so that was it for all.
I apologize to everyone if I am behind with my posting again. I at least want to respond to the comments first before I finish posting:

I think you are talking about the battle with Gurd (the big cheater) here? That was tough for me on NM also. I gave Cass the rock armor potions, then loaded everyone else up with grenades....fire, pitch, bees, you name it. Also cold resistance and regen (on Cass). Pitch is really important because it slows down enemies, reduces the damage they do, AND increases damage they take. If you can coat Gurd with pitch, then hit him with a mark of death, you should be able to do quite a bit of damage before he calls in his cronies. Toss a couple of grenades their way and focus on Gurd. I think they fall when he does (though I don't remember for sure).
Good luck!
I love Dorian's comments. I'm pretty much resigned to taking him everywhere with me, no matter who my quizzy is or who s/he is romancing. He is just golden!
I had Cass with me this time, so she brought up Shmeples? Shmuples? when we went through there. Kind of annoying that Leliana has Schmooples whether the Warden gave it to her or not but there you go. Also love Blackwall's comment about nug racing when I bring him along.
When I played Amolla Vollsa (first playthrough) I always took Cassandra along. She had some ok conversations with Sera and Vivianne but mainly Vivianne and Sera ate up all the banter. When I played Draven Vollsa (third playthrough) I loved taking Dorian along. It seemed like he had some halfway decent multi conversations with Sera and Cassandra. I loved how Dorian always antagonized Cassandra in anyway shape or form just because he is who he is and that he's a tevintir.
Question for those who have completed the Iron Bull romance:
Spoilered, just in case
Spoiler
I'm having a hard time deciding whether IB is Jaega's love interest or her sex therapist. When does it swing toward the former? Does it? So far the interactions seem very, well, detached and clinical? Not really personal, I guess. Maybe I need to pick different dialogue? Anyway, I'm kind of confused as to what exactly this relationship is.
I almost got him started with my female human DWK rouge Chasimess who said "So you want to ride the bull" but i turned him down and he walked out of my room with a smile on his face all like "That's cool by me". Maybe sometime.
PS about Iron Bull: I am enjoying taking him along with Solas. Right now it sounds like their playing chess in their heads (qunari VS humans). Place your bets on who may win. I hope to get a outcome soon. Lol.
Sidenote: DW rogue is all kinds of fun so far. Only just reached level five, so have Stealth, Twin Fangs, and Flank Attack for talents, and they are an amazingly effective one-two punch for Kubrie. It's fun to watch her dance around like Cole did in Dofni's game. ... Oh, I added Caltrops with my last levelup but only because I'm after the passives in that tree branch, heh.
DWK rouges seem tricky to play on NIGHTMARE. I played one on HARD way back on DAO I believe and you have to pretty much hit and run. I got most of SUBERTUFUGE (except for KNOCKOUT BOMB and the stuff near it) as well as the two abilities in question myself but I started getting into ASSASSIN and got HIDDEN BLADES +upgrade, the -hp=+damage ability. I hope to get MARK OF DEATH +upgrade which I liked way back in DA 2 because it makes bosses into wimp heads in seconds.
In post in time I'll be hitting up MK X for a bit sometime this month but I'll still try to work on my people still and want to delete some so i can make some. I may do another elf and maybe a dwarf.

"I commissioned this ring from the Formari --- the Grandest Enchanter in all Thedas --- for you."
I love it when the camera angle changes so you're looking up (as a dwarf) or looking down (as a qunari). Really makes you feel like you're one of them. Though it does lead to some awkward camera angles for everyone else involved.

As I was passing judgement on Lord dirtbag and Ser Ruth, I realized what my biggest complaint is.
Why can't I recruit someone as a compnion who was brought before me to be judged? Too bad that wasn't possible.
Has anyone tried the fade touched lurker scale? It has a 10% chance to cast Veilstrike on hit. I have it on my staff. Very good. The place to find this is in the Hissing Wastes in the northwest area
I was playing around with the tint thing and realized I can't have my armor black. That stinks. Oh well.

I'm more fond of the Masterwork that gives 10% chance to use Hidden Blades on hit with 5 added hits. That one plus critical chances on a Mage is damaging.

I think they just didn't want an abuse of power sort of thing with judgements. "You'll risk your life, get set on fire, trapped physically in the Fade, etc. because I say so" might be crossing a line into something, say, DAO would've done They tried to shy away from the more...morally questionable stuff this time.
I got the FT Lurker scale but haven't used it yet. How's it working for you as a mage? I haven't actually done Rift mage yet so I'm not sure how helpful weakening is as a mage.
There's a few that get close to black. Great Bear Hide, I think? Obsidian and Onyx, too. Not sure about cloth but there's gotta be something.

As a knight enchanter, it works great. It knocks most enemies on the ground for a few seconds. I haven't played as a rift mage yet

I only mentioned it because at the beginning of the game, a knight is seen wearing armor that is black

Got my butt handed to me in the DLC. Time to level up some more! What a challenge! Definitely a story recommended to play after Cory's gone. It's got that feel of a whole new adventure after the peace slowly returns to Thedas!
On a personal note, I have to say romancing Solas was amazing and easy to relate to, since it happened to me last year with a guy who said exactly the same thing when he ended things. I find Cullen's romance rare in real life, Blackwall's is a struggle with regaining trust. Kind of like romancing a former criminal. Iron Bull is the friend with benefits that becomes more unexpectedly, but Solas is the one many of us females (and some males) can relate to the most.
The ending when my Inquisitor leaves to retire to her quarters, turns and sees all her friends standing there (every companion was my best friend, even Dorian wanted to stay with me and not return home), bidding her good night and she smiles, it's like she's saying what she told Cole. That friends will help her through the pain, and everything was going to be alright. The next morning she sees that dawn did truly come and her heart will never forget Solas, but she will let him go for now.
Spoiler
In the DLC the parallels between your IQ and Solas with the first Inquisitor and his lover is painfully beautiful, especially the scene when the camera zooms in on the statue of Andraste holding the two Harts. Same ones like the place Solas took you to before he ended things with you for good.
Solas is my fav romance option and my canon one for all my games now! And what I like about it, is because I'm a softy for Cullen, a few of the heart choices can come off as good/close friends who might have been more in another life. I feel that my IQ and Cullen formed a sweet bond that didn't go beyond friendship, but was closer than anyone else besides Solas after I chose the heart options that weren't flirting, but my IQ genuinely telling Cullen she cared about him.

I still haven't recruited Vivienne this playthrough. Since I never take her anywhere anyway I'm not missing much, but the upstairs area of Skyhold is completely bare other than the mosaics on the walls.
Didn't do much last night. Took out the Red Templars on the Storm Coast, then decided to see where the boat would take us. I thought Vinsomer was a level 17 dragon but nope....she's level 19. Then since they were there already I thought, eh, why not give it a go? That didn't work out so well. I think I got her down by like 25% before the team wiped. They were only level 15, with Jaega at 16. So, they'll come back for Vinsomer later. Still got a couple of pics though. From very, very far away. I used tac cam for the close-up.
Spoiler
Jaega still didn't want to go back to the Plains so she took her squad out to the Western Approach instead. Closed a couple of rifts, killed a few packs of hyenas and quillbacks, and set up the camp next the Frederic. He seems to think there's a dragon in the area, so trying to find her should be fun. Oh, and the Venatori and Wardens too.
Then I got bored and decided to create a new character, whom I intend* to have romance Cassandra. For my world state I imported my two original characters from DAO and DA2. Auriel Cousland never met Leliana or Sten, and Wynne was killed at the Circle. She married Alistair and became Queen. Marian Hawke romanced Fenris, never met Sebastian or Tallis, and sided with the mages at Kirkwall.
So, here is Marcus Trevelyan, 2H warrior. He's going to really have it in for Coryfish since his sister (mage Julia Trevelyan, Inqui in an alternate universe) was killed at the Conclave.
Spoiler
*I can't help it if he gets distracted by Dorian along the way.

That's...a very good point. Maybe they figure, given what some of them have done, it's justified? Not to mention that it's reversible. We even have a spirit hanging around Skyhold, though I suppose if you're going to make someone Tranquil, you're not thinking about that...
So basically, taking away someone's emotions and dreams is better than slavery? Or they just didn't think you'd want to trust anyone you judge and make a companion. I don't know. It's an interesting idea, though; Ser Ruth could've been a good one to have as a companion.
I've never actually made anyone Tranquil, as far as I can remember. Maybe Alexius once, just to see it?

I find the male's have it easier voice-wise. Lol The non British speaking IQ for the females has a voice I find too deep for a human or elf, and better suited for a Dwarf or Qunari, but the males seem to work both ways. I have a thing for British accents, but the voice actor for Zevran did the American one so I'm torn. Lol

I usually choose the voice that will match my character's face. My dwarf would not go with the British accent voice, obviously. I wish there was at least 4 voices, and one of them would be low and still have an accent. DA:O's voices were so good even though you'd never hear it beyond the creation screen. Something like that, and I'd be set.

Lol well you did hear them, but only when responding to your commands or in battle. I wish my Dalish Elf sounded Dalish though...

The next time I use AWR's voice set I will have to import a male Hawke. Otherwise, IQ and Hawke sound exactly the same to me. I don't like how Hawke sounds in DAI. I'm not sure what kind of voice direction she was getting but she just doesn't sound right. Or maybe I just need to play DA2 again to be reminded that she really does sound like that.

Yes both Jo Wyatt and AWR sound the same. They could pass for sisters. I even customize my femHawke to look like my femquisitor.
I might play DA2 again. Jo Wyatt does very well voicing a sarcastic femHawke
