Scars don't seem to show up on PC for some reason. Just searched the problem and it seems the problem persists.

Lowest Settings still feel like crap. Decent enough for me to play, but the hair is jello. Turning V-Sync off didn't help very much, and if I try 3 settings on Medium the game stutters like crazy. I don't know how a processor with 2.0GHz could even run this even if that is one of the minimum requirements for a processor's GHz. Mine is 2.4GHz which is pretty standard for a lower processor. I understand that this is a new engine from the U3 Engine, but still. The loading times are awful and way too long, and I hate needing to restart the game just to have my graphic changes take effect(mainly because of the loading times). It's obvious that I can make this game run at 60fps if dumb down the resolution bar(not screen resolution), but then my game would look like Minecraft. I'm trying to find some fixes for these issues.

If you have any suggestions, I'd like to know because the stuttering is driving me nuts. I would hate to lower my screen resolution just to play at a more steadier fps.

Not much to report. I forgot to mention in my previous post when I played Chasimess I did the mother of fade portals mission in Crestwood. Holy cheese and nuggets was it a pickle (I am putting this mildly). My allies were not co-operating, I had few regeneration potions, and refilling my potions was pointless. Somehow I pulled it off. however recently I went to the Crestwood mayors place and read his note and did the "Find Crestwood's mayor" WAR TABLE mission and judges him (*makes a throat slit sound*). Then i went to Hinderlands and crushed the final portal. I had crazy issues with it since level 12 and it seemed like no matter if I was at level 13-15 I couldn't get it done (at 15 it went from 11 to 15). Finally at level 16 and juicing Blackwall and Iron Bull with Rock Armor potions I crushed it. I then wound up taking a break with Sera:

Spoiler

Then I wound up working on the story in Western Approach. I came across a nasty glitch during the cinematic there which I wasn't happy about:

Other_81_zpsupsyrjxs.jpg?t=1428212905.

Other_82_zpssyxfyarf.jpg?t=1428212905

Chasim_95_zpshondlveh.jpg?t=1428212905

Because of this 'glitch" i couldn't get the mouse back on my XBOX 360 controller so I had to shut off my system and reboot it. I also had to snag my last three "dragon spots" again for the one side quest but oh well.

Spoiler

I found some new gear for my crew but the one slicer I made for Chasimess, the one armor I made for Chasimess, and the one shield I made for Blackwall has yet to be replaced by anything I found.

Same here. I especially love it for my Azul Hwallo shots.

Azul_03_zpsfysfq0zc.jpg

I mean seriously...Azul towers over Cassandra. Lol.

I think I may of but i think I found something better after I got that thing.

I got Rift Mage on my female human mage and it was worth the hours of fustration trying to get it. Most of the abilities not only knockback or cause things to happen but they debuff defences to after the target gets hit. I cannot remember what abilities I have with it but I know at least for Solas with her I got him all and the meteor strike hurts a-lot despite being in a small circle which tends to be a pain to use on High Dragons.

If you do that this will hurt your relationship with Dorian. as i said in one of my posts on this thread frankly I personally feel spareing Alexius for researching magic is a better idea because he gives you a WAR TABLE mission that gives you a ENHANCED COOLDOWN AMULET. I have been rocking with this with Chasimess since I got it. Abilities like HIDDEN BLADE seem to take barely 15-130 seconds to recharge so I can plow a group of wimp heads or bosses like nothing almost. I just cloak, hidden blade, shadow strike, whack to recharge meter, cloak, repeat. No regrets on not killing Alexius.

Knight Enchanter seemed ok to me. I only slightly dabbled into it with Vivianne and I felt she was using it wrong by thinking she's a warrior not a mage when she's a mage not a warrior. i am conteplating on giving it to Azul Hwallo though. Necromancer or Rift Mage doesn't sound like a Qunari mage.

I took Vivianne for my first playthrough and I liked her a-lot. Her conversations were kind of mean spirited but when I got over that I liked taking her along to everywhere I went. I was also amazed on how she was handling the inquisitions politics despite me kind of sort of not being aware of it. I was happy to make her divine.

I made Alexius and the evil grey warden guy tranquil and as i mentioned before i hurt Dorian's feelings because Dorian said "if you're going to take anyones emotions away you're better off just killing them. The thought of that I find rather monsterous." I am familiar with tranquil's and I remember back in DAO there was the one guy in the mage tower in the mage Origin's. He seemed nice despite sounding like a robot. I know in DA 2 you can make Feyrinl one if you wish and he wound sound like one too. Merdeth makes one that sounds a teeny tiny bit like one. I know Cassandra said she use to be one too because I remember in the anime movie she was dead fudjin serious nonstop through the whole thing but progressively like she said slowly bust surely was getting her emotions back.

Same here. However when I made my qunari male 2h soldier the two voices didn't sound like the way I made him so I tossed him immediately. As i said in another thread (or if not this one) to me traditionally qunari men sound deep voice people. Check out Sten in DAO, the Arishock in DA 2 and Iron Bull in DAI. To me the two male tracks are no where near qunari.

I know.  I wasnt talking about it from either a practicality stand point or a good versus evil stand point...not like that anyways.  My point was that the poster I was responding to said that you could not seem to be really evil in Inquisition and you could not use the judgements to recruit companions...which they made a link to the two concepts.  And yet, in this game where you cannot do evil actions...you can make someone Tranquil.  And...well the whole Blackwall thing.  That was my point. :)

Is there a reason why Origin is constantly updating? Every time I turn it off or I reset my Computer it needs to update.

I started my male playthrough yesterday

Elvis Trevelyan - english voice

archer

In the character creator I added a moustache similiar to what Charles Bronson had. I couldn't use a thick one since the shinyness blinded me, so I went with the peach fuzz. He has reddish hair.

One thing I noticed with the new patches installed, it takes a few seconds longer to load. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the ps3 is not very fast. There are other things I noticed as well, but don't hurt the story or gameplay.

I'm taking my time, since this may be my last playthrough before I get the dlc.

I will post some commentary later about the playthrough later

Ohhhhhhhh I see. Sorry if I missed your point. I read a-lot of things about tranquil and I thought the whole discussion was about if making people tranquil a good thing or a bad thing in your eyes. However after reading your quote I think the context was making good or bad judgements by building your inquisitor to be a good or evil inquisitor I think? If this is the point then yeah I do agree they kind of should of gotten into that detail a bit more. On my first playthrough I was thinking that to be the case after playing the templar storyline. I mean seriously maybe the whole you locking up members in the chantry may be a possibility. However it seemed like this game didn't stress this as a possibility so you play a goody goody inquisitor where the only quote on quote bad judgements you can make is either head lopping or making people tranquil.

Is there a reason why Origin is constantly updating? Every time I turn it off or I reset my Computer it needs to update.

Maybe one of the reasons why is because of their recent release of BATTLEFIELD: HARDLINE? It is under Origin so...

It's highly doubtful that the poor performance has anything to do with your CPU (it sounds like you think that's the problem because you only mentioned the processor speed).

What matters most in terms of performance is generally going to be your graphics card, so it would be helpful if you actually tell us what graphics card you're using. I will say in advance that if you're using the onboard graphics or have a really old card (or cards if you use SLI/Crossfire), that's likely to be your main problem.

I have an Aorus X7 Pro gaming laptop (which I had to get after my previous laptop died), and I can run DA:I on ultra in 1920 x 1080 (yes, really - every setting is on ultra). To help you do a hardware comparison, here is some of my system info:

  • Graphics cards: Two nVidia (Maxwell) GTX 970m cards running in SLI.
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • CPU: i7-4870HQ 2.50 GHz

I also have the game installed on my SSDs, so the load times are good. But even using mechanical drives, the load times shouldn't really be that bad unless something is wonky - and it may have to do with the graphics, actually. For example, on my previous system, I had ATI cards, and the game basically wigged out when I tried to use Crossfire mode; I ended up with horrible load times and crashes. Those problems went went away when I dropped down to using one card (and if you have Radeons in Crossfire like I did, try using only one card instead of two).

Anyhow, I suggest that you check your system info and report on your CPU, GPU, and overall memory. If you posted that info in here previously, heh, I've been on a Bloodborne binge for that last two weeks, so I haven't been doing all that much reading on the forums. *cough*

I disabled Windows Media Player Sharing Service and was able to get the game to stop stuttering all over the place. Quite fortunate I was able to come across that thread on support.

However, my specs are poor. Not the best by far, but not the worst either. I could be running way below the minimum requirements. I can run the ME Trilogy at the High Settings and Amnesia: The Dark Descent at high as well.

Specs are:

Laptop: TOSHIBA Satellite C55t-A

RAM: 4GB

Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-4000M CPU @ 2.40GHz

GPU: Intel® HD Graphics 4600

Oh dear - that is the main source of your problems right there: it's the Intel onboard graphics chip. You're asking the poor thing to pretty much do the impossible, heh. That's why you're having a tough time running DA:I at even the lowest setting, and I suspect that it's the main contributor to any crashing you might experience, along with the long load times.

Ummm, if you have a desktop system, I would recommend that you install DA:I on it ASAP instead. But if you're in the market for a new laptop because of school or traveling, there are actual gaming laptops capable of running the game (some systems with a single GTX 980m could work if you want high settings, and even a single 970m could probably handle it on medium settings I believe). Your Toshiba can't be upgraded graphics-wise (some laptops actually can - like if you get a Sager/Clevo/Alienware/that new GT80 Titan from MSI). *pat pat*

Anyhow, I'd check reviews before you go throwing down a lot of money on anything. If you do end up getting an ultra-thin system like mine, you should make sure to get a notebook cooler if you don't have one (and if you end up getting a laptop from a vendor who customizes the systems, you might want them to repaste the CPU and GPUs to help keep temps down).

Oh, just to warn you: almost no modern games are going to run nicely if all you have is Intel onboard graphics. So if you have plans on playing Arkham Knight or anything similarly graphics-intensive in the future, you need to start shopping for a new laptop or desktop (whatever fits your needs).

Haha! I knew it! My lucky streak had to run out eventually. That CanIRun site wasn't joking although it said I couldn't play the ME games. I proved it wrong there. I've always had a feeling that my display driver sucked at best. My brother's laptop can run it at Medium settings despite his specs. His specs are better than mine by FAR! But he should be able to run some settings at High. He has a Qosmio x75-a7180 Gaming Laptop:

Copy and Pasted from the website:

  • LAPTOP SUMMARY
  • Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ Processor
  • Windows 8.1
  • 16GB DDR3L 1600MHz memory
  • 3GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 770M with Optimus™ Technology
  • 1.25TB: 256GB Solid State Drive (mSATA, SSD) + 1.0TB (5400 RPM, Serial ATA)
  • Blu-ray Disc™ Rewriteable (BD-RE) and DVD SuperMulti drive

I

I thought he'd be able to run it at 1080p at Medium-High Settings, but he suffers stuttering of frames at 1080p. He runs smoothly at 30-40fps average at 1366x768.

Yeah, as long as you have some kind of discrete graphics card like the nVidia GTX 770m like your brother does, DA:I is hypothetically playable - so long as you're willing to lower the resolution and tweak the graphics settings like he has. But it's going to be a total no-go if you're stuck with Intel. Anyhow, good luck if you go computer-shopping or build your own system. Alternatively, maybe you can play it on your bro's system if he's willing to lend it to you, hehe.

Is there something specifically wrong with Intel products? I know that they're not the best manufacturers when it comes "wanting the best glorious PC gaming rig."

This is just OT but i think from a "computer guy" i know I think told me once that gaming on a laptop is the suck. I don't know why personally, I always had zero luck with PC gaming so I prefer console gaming. It's like I either don't have a up to specced comp or get a game no one will play online EVER.

On topic I just mainly made new armor for Chasimess and completed a Solas mission where I had to portal bust in Hinderlands which I got from having a high relationship with him and got via the WAR TABLE. Was a semi pain (Chasimess went down, Iron bull had to use a rock armor tonic) but I got it done. I've been concentrating on WESTERN APPROACH and am working my way to Servius to beat the (reportedly glitchy) TROUBLE WITH DARKSPAWN mission (even though i found out why it glitched for me). I reached a camp but not the camp. I got my second astrium done too and beaten two giants with ease.

Jaega decided she'd rather face a horde of demons as prance around a bunch of nobles, so off to Adamant she marched. She made quite the entrance once the doors were busted open:

Spoiler

The battle went well; she even managed to convince some of the Wardens to stand down. Then, an old friend showed up:
Spoiler

Warden-Commander Clarel came to her senses just in time to blow up the tower everyone was standing on. Oopsie.

Luckily (?) Jaega was able to call on her handy-dandy anchor and opened a rift to the Fade. I think Bull would have rather taken his chances with the stone, to be honest.
Spoiler

He reeeeally didn't like it there, which was rather amusing. And it made the hitting-him-with-a-stick scene much more meaningful since he was actually there and not just told about it like every other time. Love when Cass knocks him on his keister.

Once they were back (everyone but Stroud, that is) Jaega still didn't want to deal with the nobles in Orlais, so she took everyone to the Emerald Graves instead to meet with Fairbanks. There, they came across another old friend (hint, not the behemoth trying to hog the spotlight):

Spoiler

Finally, after much wandering and rift closing and herb gathering and rock mining, they came across the big prize:

She's so pretty I've only killed her once (for the achievement) but Bull likes to kill dragons so that's what they did. Forgot to switch out for cold resistance potions but turns out they weren't necessary on easy mode.
Spoiler

Still have quite a bit left to do in this area. Need to find/mark the elfy monuments in giant-ville, the WT op for Din'an Hanin (met with Taven though), and explore Chateau d'Onterre. And then maybe I'll do the ball. It will be Bull's first appearance there. I'm tempted to blow off court approval this time just to see what happens if I have to fight Florianne.

Still have quite a bit left to do in this area. Need to find/mark the elfy monuments in giant-ville, the WT op for Din'an Hanin (met with Taven though), and explore Chateau d'Onterre. There are 3 ice (Mistral and the first two in Emprise); 3 lightning (Vinsomer, Northern Hunter, and the one in the Plains); and 4 fire (Frosty, Ravager, Abyssal, and Sandy Howler). So yeah, pretty even.

Currently watching my girlfriend, a complete non-gamer, have her way with the character creator.

Obviously, Asian as she is, she makes a white chick. lol.

With insanely big eyes, of course.

I'll snap some screenshots when if she ever finishes.

Me: 'Honey, those eyes... are really weird'

She: 'Shut up, it's a game, my fantasy'

This is gonna be hilarious.
