'Honey, I want a nosejob'
Err, this might've been a bad idea ![]()
I keep putting off the Winter Palace. Don't know why. Possibly because that will get the ball rolling (hehe, "ball rolling") on the story, and part of me likes messing around in the world? ![]()
Also, continuing the plot means I'll probably have finished Trev by May. Possibly the next guy too! Probably not though.
Anywho, somewhere we seem to have picked up this weird armour.
I want more! I'll grab any vaguely unique outfits I can! ![]()
Then it was onto the personal quests of Trev's three favourite people: Sera, Dorian and Cassandra. Trev tends to humour Sera's strange behaviour, even when he doesn't know what she's on about. Definitely an odd little friendship.
She wanted to kick the ever-living snot out of Lord Harmond, but Trev pressed him into the Inquisition instead. He's determined to be the recruiter-Inky. He's already got Alexius working on magical whatsits, much to Dorian's glee.
There was a quick drink with Bull to celebrate their victory over the Frostback. Maybe you'll have to come on another outing, Bull. Though not if you ever say that again. Cassandra will spank you for that naughty behaviour. Or... maybe not, since Bull might like it. ![]()
One day, I will make a character that lures Dorian to meet his father. But... Trev is not that guy. He doesn't owe Dorian's family anything, why would he want to trick his friend when he knows barely anything about the situation?
Trev encouraged them to patch things up, since Papa Pavus seemed like a friendly - and remorseful - man. After hearing a bit more about his father's actions, Trev was less sympathetic. Still, it seems like a good thing for them to get over it. Maybe he should even get in touch with his own power-hungry relatives.
He told Dorian that he thinks he's brave. Moustache man just said "Brave?" and gave Trev the biggest puppy eyes I've ever seen. Well, except for Fenris.
Finally, Cassandra of course. This should be the last step before romance time. ![]()
Trev has discovered the wonder that is...
Cass is saying "If you cast that spell one more time, I will give you fire." ![]()
Everytime she turns around things are alight. Wall of Fire is just marvellous though! Just lay it in the enemes' path and bam! Barbequed baddies! ![]()
Had to reload once. That courtyard key always seems to be a bugger. Trev stood on a stable roof to take down enemies at range. Once the fight was over, he dropped down and went to find the quest-marked loot. Only... the loot is back on the roof. The inaccessible roof. It had teleported to him.
So I had to reload!
Cassandra is made of steel! She encountered her old apprentice, who had been implanted with a demon. She was clearly very upset, but didn't want to do the touchy-feely thing. She's right. Let's beat Lucius to pulp instead!
Really love the way she says "Lord Seeker Lucius". That accent. When it was over, Cass was dismayed by what was in her book, but she still has her ideals. Trev said that he would support her no matter what. Honestly, she could propose moving the Inquisition into the Korcari Wilds and counting rocks for the rest of their lives, and Trev would start checking the paper for huts they could live in. The guy's smitten! Good thing too, because now he's got a list of items to get for Cassandra's 'ideal romance'. You and your ideals, Cass. ![]()
Is there something specifically wrong with Intel products? I know that they're not the best manufacturers when it comes "wanting the best glorious PC gaming rig."
Here's a way to see the performance differences pretty easily:
http://gpu.userbench...-GHz/2576vs2168
You can compare different models and check the stats. There's nothing "wrong" with the Intel HD graphics per se; the issue is that the integrated graphics processors generally share the system memory. Instead of having a lot of dedicated memory of its own (for example, each of my cards has 3 GB of dedicated memory because they're discrete GPUs). The way it works is that the Intel integrated graphics processor will use your system RAM when they try to run games. So if you only have 4 GB RAM to start out with, you will probably take a fairly big hit in performance.
I guess the easy way to put this is that it's like they're memory vampires (hah!). As I understand it, newer iterations of the Intel HD graphics do have some onboard memory (but usually only a small amount), which helps a bit. But it sounds like you have an older model (some of this depends on the architecture of your processor; you should probably check on that, too). Anyhow, you can try reading page 3 of this article and focus on the graphics processor stuff (might be too technical for you, but I seem to be having a tough time finding articles/reviews that do a good job of explaining things...):

This is just OT but i think from a "computer guy" i know I think told me once that gaming on a laptop is the suck. I don't know why personally, I always had zero luck with PC gaming so I prefer console gaming. It's like I either don't have a up to specced comp or get a game no one will play online EVER.
People who are self-professed computer experts usually seem to have this irrational bias against laptops. I don't know what it is, but you always see comments in laptop reviews by desktop gamers who just can't seem to understand that some of their fellow gamers need a mobile system because they have to travel or just like to play DA:I in bed, etc.
The elite desktop gamers generally go "Laptops are expensive and suck and can't run anything - go learn to build a tower system!" - all while ignoring the fact that you can't drag a tower and a monitor with you on a plane (unless you're insane enough to actually try that), or that it would be pretty annoying to move a tower (and a monitor...and a keyboard...) from your bedroom to your living room and back again, etc. And this is where I have to again point out that I can run DA:I with everything on ultra at 1920 x 1080 on my gaming laptop (the max resolution for my laptop's screen) - lol.
Laptops are more expensive, and there are other tradeoffs like potentially high temps if you go thin, but some laptops are the equivalent of desktop replacements or have more than enough graphical oomph to play things like BF4, etc.
Well, DAI was on sale for half-price on Origins, so I bought it for a friend of mine. I couldn't get her into DAO ("slow" she called it!), but I figured the updated combat (read: sped up) would be more to her liking, and I was right, she loves the game. She's so funny, though - always wanting the best gear, she will grind forever in an area, but then totally gloss over the 'who is going to help close the breach' question. Since Champions of the Just showed up on her war table first, she went with the templars, not realizing that mages were even an option lol ![]()
Oh, and we ventured into MP - just the two of us...she is awesome at these things, me, not so much, but we actually cleared one whole room lol
She'd do so much better without my dead weight. Her reaction to her first giant was priceless "where the hell did the troll come from?!? run away, now...gooooo, fassstttteeeerrrrrrrr!!!!!" ![]()
Not much doing yesterday. Cleared the rest of the Emerald Graves except for Din'an Hanin. I don't think that opens up until after the ball? Anyway, Jaega found the bear monument so everyone stopped to pose for a picture. ![]()
Notice how everyone looks so grim at the bear monument...everyone but Cass, that is - I'd swear she is smirking! ![]()
Inquisitor Adaar has been VERY busy today, especially since it was my day off and I did some binge gaming.
He cleared out the Western Approach, killed the High Dragon, dealt with the Darkspawn there, found and tried Sernis, found out about Blackwall, kidnapped him from his prison cell in the dark of night and tried him, went to Adamant with Blackwall, Cassandra and Varric where Hawke stayed behind in the Fade and Alistair came out with me, much to Varric's great emotional turmoil, met Bianca, had a card game, gave Vivienne the Circle tomes, met Bastien and saw him die, sentenced that magister who manipulated the wardens to tranquility, went into an eluvian with Morrigan, sent Leliana off to look for the Hero of Ferelden, tracked down an amulet for Cole, he became more like a spirit and watched him help people throughout Val Royeaux unnoticed.
All he has left is Emprise Du Lion, Hissing Wastes, the DLC and the Arbor Wilds.
Still can't find a full set of mosaics though.
, went to Adamant with Blackwall, Cassandra and Varric where Hawke stayed behind in the Fade and Alistair came out with me
that why i play with the defaut world , alister is a king , and in the fade i have to choose between stroud and hawk , so the poor stroud always stay in the fade

Well pooh. I have 2 completed this run so far, but "The Archdemon" bugged out and is only showing 11 pcs on the wall. Not sure why since it showed properly before.
Here is a list of where all the pieces can be found:

That was my first playthrough. My second had Loghain and Hawke, and Loghain stayed in the Fade.
I wanted at least one playthrough where Hawke stayed behind, if only to witness the emotions with Varric just once.

i couldn"t do that to varic it's so cruel ,
i couldn"t do that to varic it's so cruel ,
I nearly couldn't either.
It was kind of weird seeing a Qunari hug him though.
I've fallen into a Mass Effect hole and can't seem to dig myself out. Anyone have a shovel? No? Ah well, guess I'll just have to stay here!
i couldn"t do that to varic it's so cruel ,
My first playthrough was between Hawke and Alistair. I would've left Alistair behind anyway, but Varric being with me just ensured Hawke's survival ![]()
Inquisitor Adaar has just fought through Emprise du Lion (not all the way) up to the Tower of Bone. After work tomorrow I'll be hitting the Quarry and the Keep.
Disabling the Origin in-game overlay thing stabilized the CTDs for me. Was getting them fairly often in the vanilla game after the DLC and patch updates. IIRC, only had a couple CTDs before that, back in my first PT.Brilliant. Game consistently crashes after character creation now.
Brilliant Bioware, brilliant.

I like Loghain, but I will never leave my femHawke in the fade.

Left male Hawke in the fade. Didn't hug Varric. Ended up with 2 greatly disapproves. Excellent
i couldn"t do that to varic it's so cruel ,
I have no problem having my Inquisitor being cruel.
Finished the first draft for Chapter 7. Looks good at least so far. But reason I bring this up is because yesterday I poured over the map of Orlais in preparation for my potential next fic. And the thought struck me. I rarely, maybe once, did reserch on the Mass Effect wiki when working on my many Mass Effect fics...well maybe a couple of times to look up character names. But I am spending a lot more time trying to research Thedas to make sure my fics are right in their fidelity with the geogra0hy, setting, political situation, names of any OC.
Totally not a profiteer . . .
Spoiler
Benjamin did this and I felt so bad afterwards. Lol. I think this is the only time that every single companion will dissaprove of a choice...and I think it was a matter of I didn't like any of the choices...so I went with that one. And that happened. I felt bad. Especially when I found out what you could do instead.
Andrastian inquisitors get special options for dealing with her and others.
