Resist the mustache, Melbella! You can do it!  :P

Today I learned you can't trust milestone save files.

Before starting the Adamant quest, I was torn about which companions I should take with me. Solas was an obvious choice, because of the Fade. I also picked Vivienne because someone mentioned she freaks out in that place.

And then there's Blackwall. Halfway through this quest I realized there was no point in bringing him because A: I was gonna exile the wardens anyway and B: His presence isn't necessary to reason with them.

So it was decided that I'd reload the previous save file and start this quest again, but I kept going just to see Vivienne's reaction to the Fade. It was disappointing, as she was completely unaffected.

And to make everything worse, that milestone save file I was counting on was automatically overwritten by a new one.

I can't sodding believe this.

Oh, that's horrible. I've had that happen, too. Doesn't seem to matter what system you're on, the autosaving is just a tad unreliable. Might want to keep a manual save for things like that, then just delete it when you've done what you wanted to go back for, or just keep overwriting it, in case something like that happens. Again  <_<

You know not what you ask! ;) Luckily I don't have to worry about it while Jaega is dealing with JoH.

I'm super paranoid about saving and deleting saves ever since I accidentally deleted my first Origins character. I still have a save file from the end of Awakening (I think) but everything else is gone. :(  Since there's a limit in DAI,  I've been [cringe] deleting my in-between saves, keeping the first and last ones from each area I go to (each time I go there) and then moving them all to another folder on my hard drive once I'm done with that playthrough. I even uploaded my original and final saves for each character to an online account. So, yes, I'm a compulsive saver. :P

Saving the best for last, eh, Spork?  ;)

Not, erm, that I'm...biased or anything...

Heh, well...to my mind, the best of my remaining options ;) It's gonna be hard to top Cassie's romance, and Sera's too. But in my first game, romancing Sera, when i first met Josie I was this close to changing my plan and chase after Josie instead.

Cassandra is the plan. I created a male Trevelyan 2H warrior just for her. However, Dorian might prove too distracting.....

Oooh, stay with the Cassie romance. It is totally worth seeing through all the way at least once.

EDIT: Forgot to add. In my own game, Kubrie found out they weren't going to let her into the Village of Redcliffe until she went to Val Royeaux first  <_< . So she did. Then, after some adventuring and spending way too much to buy some armour schematics that I don't even have enough materials for, she met Sera. Oh, Sera's reaction to meeting Kubrie has almost got me re-thinking my plans to romance Bull.... so I totally know how both of you feel, heh.

Oh, that sounds good! It's been ages since I last played it. I'm not sure I could do Closed Fist these days though. I'm too much of a softie to make that big choice near the end! I really should get around to trying Dawn Star's romance too.

Well. I've been spending quite some time modding the crap out of DAI to fix the issues I have with the game, and now I can finally enjoy playing the game.

In my recent playthrough I've been romancing Solas. I've been able to keep myself from getting that part of the game spoiled, mostly because I never was really interested in doing his romance, or even viewing it on youtube. Of course I knew about the endgame with Solas leaving, and I just assumed the romance was gonna be open-ended with him suddenly gone. I have been a bit prejudiced against his romance. Always assumed it was just going to be another Alistair/Cullen type of thing: "I love you, you love me, and happily ever after," Yeah, yeah, it was a nice little romance. But I was wrong about this one.

I really loved doing Solas romance with my sweet little warrior elf.  Even the small flirty comments were nice. Going in to the Fade dream with him was great. Then finally at the end things got a lot more interesting: dealing with the vallaslin, and then Solas ending it suddenly. Though it hurt it was still a very lovely romance, and I'm happy it was different instead of some typical happy joy joy Hollywood love story.

The choice to keep or remove the vallaslin is the hardest choice I've ever done in this game. My elf was never very elfy. She likes her people, and traditional stuff, but not going all religious on worshipping old gods and such. She never viewed the vallaslin as being anything more than basic tattoos. They have always been an important part of her character. And thanks to Bioware for giving me the dialogue option to actually tell Solas that "I'm not sure if I want to remove them." But she trusts Solas and allowed him to remove them, and it was a truly wonderful gift, and at the same time it became an incredible farewell gift. A memory of their time together

Romancing Solas really reminded me of the time when I romanced Fenris, and how that ended in a terrible disaster   I don't see this ending as a disaster, but it was a beautiful what-the-hell moment, and it may never fully heal but she is a strong warrior who knows how to bear her scars :)

"As you are to me."

Normally go for Silk Fox?

And yeah. I did the Closed Fist ending once, and I could barely stomach it. Kind of made me feel dirty. Not even playing darkside in KOTOR or KOTOR 2 made me feel as evil as Closed Fist spirit monk did.

Heh, I do the same. I usually have one before the big decision stuff (mages or templars, Here Lies the Abyss, Halamshiral, and before the final boss, just in case), then back it up to a USB and delete all but the first and last, too.

I just wish we could turn off autosaving. Or can we?

That'd be nice. Alas, I don't think we can this time around

Contrasting Thegrath and Dagon. At first, I thought they looked a bit too much alike, but looking at them both in separate pics actually reveals they look nothing alike, but it's probably the way I morphed both of their faces. High cheekbones... :S

I've taken notice on their eyes and eye brows. Thegrath's eyes give him a sadder look and when he smiles he looks adorable, and Dagon's are a bit more fierce and maybe aggressive probably 'cause of the eyebrows giving it that sort of shape and feel. Still, Thegrath's eyes look too real at times(probably not in this photo, but like my profile pic of him <3)

I'm honestly going to cut my posting in half. This is my thread following up so I want to follow up with some comments frist before i post where I am at:

So before I continue my Dagon Cadash playthrough, I'd like to debate on who he should romance. I'm leaning towards Josephine or Dorian.

Lol! Male Inquisitor - Blackwall Romance(not mine):

Frankly I think this was done VIA a mod. I followed a couple random threads and one was how apparently one mod you can have multiple relationships and have male Inq's have female inq's romances and vice versa apparently and how apparently these two mods ARE combinable. I swear this keeps me thinking that if I was running Chasimess with these two mods i would make Iron Bull the most luckiest qunari around where not only would he boink Chasimess but Sera and Josephine two in a three women one guy thing. :-p----

In my current playthrough. I'm going to each region to close all rifts before going to the Arbor wilds

Remember fighting the Geth in ME3 and their missles hit you no matter what? Apparently the spiders that spit their poison at you have the same effect. On nightmare they really hurt. Hopefully in the next patch, Bioware adds spider poison resistance

I agree this is meh to me too. I swear even if I use EVADE 7 times out of 10 it heat seeks and I get splooched. And yes on NIGHTMARE I'm like "OWIE!"

The regular dagger techniques are disabled, but everything from the assassin and subterfuge trees is unaffected, even if some skills technically are melee based.

True apprently. I remembered this from DA 2 where i couldn't use TWIN FANG with the bow equipped but still could use my cloak stuff from SUBTERFUGE.

So now that I've finished all the male romances, here's my completely unscientific ranking of the 5 options:

1. Dorian

2. Cullen

3. Blackwall

4. Iron Bull

5. Solas

Pseudo-explanations spoilered for those who haven't finished all of them yet.

Spoiler

Well so far I romanced Sera, Cassandra, Cullen, and practically Josephine. So far my picks are Cassandra, Cullen, Josephine then Sera in that order. I do intend to have Melltelwin (male human sw/sh warrior) romance Vivianne but i got waaaaaaaaays to go to get that far (still in prolog). Qwahilin (male elf DWK rouge) i intend to romance Dorian since I haven't fully seen it from Draven since I cancelled it and went for Cassandra. Lylia On and Azul Hwallo i intend to go for Sera again..

Unfortunately you can't romance Vivienne. I always imagine that as she turns me down, she has the same expression as someone who just stepped in nug poop whenever I attempt to flirt with her.

Now off to posting:

So I decided to play Chasimess again (female human DWK rouge). I decided to take spirit Cole out to Val Riyoux:

Spoiler

Afterward i wound up going over to the graves and beating the dragon there (Iron Bull's DRAGON RAGE +UPGRADE FTW). That's my third dragon now (WESTERN APPROACH, CRESTWOOD now the GRAVES) not to mention i went from level 18 to level 20. I also did some portal bashing and some quest hunting in the HISSING WASTES:

Chasim_165_zpsui60vta5.jpg?t=1429089978

I had some ups and downs there. Then afterwards I wound up doing WICKED MINDS WICKED HEARTS since I was way past the level quota (level 15)

Spoiler

Spoiler

I had to got to Skyhold and get more crap...

Pretty much was talks about who will be the next divine. Since i am having Chasimess on bad terms with Cassandra i kpet telling her to not gun for the position. I kept telling Liliana to pursue it and opened her "chantry sister" mission which determines her personality. And I got Vivianne's dragon mission where she wants me to

Started a nightmare PT with Dhreya Trev.

She's a mage who hated the Circle as a child and was very angry with having to be there. Now she's a woman in her mid-30s who's just jaded. Ms. Cranky went to the Conclave with the free mages. She figured she should get out and see a little more than the Circle for once.

And then some craziness happened and she was taken prisoner and forced to help thanks to this weird green thing on her hand.

Spoiler

After fighting through a few demons, they met up with an elf and a dwarf. There's something about that elf. She can't put her finger on it...

Spoiler

They reached a camp and needed to figure out how to get to a rift so she could close it. They decided on the mountain path.

Spoiler

They reached the rift and it was on

Spoiler

After closing the rift, she woke up in a town called Haven. People were calling her the Herald of Andraste. She tells them she is not the Herald of Andraste.

Spoiler

Then the ladies who threatened to kill her were now wanting her help with their movement. She reluctantly agreed. These people are something else.

Spoiler

She traveled with them to meet someone called Mother Giselle. She was calling her the Herald of Andraste too. What don't these folks understand?

Spoiler

By the time she finished meeting all these people, she'd had enough of them. She might have gone to the Conclave with the free mages but she was actually pining for the Circle now. At least there she could be grumpy in peace.

Back in Haven Inky's friendship starts off rather rocky with Blackwall.

BW: What do you want?

I: I want to hear more about you.

BW: Where I'm from, talking about yourself with strangers is considered rude. I'll have to decline.

I: How do people over there get to know each other then?

BW: Well.. uhm.. It's an ancient secret tradition. Can say no more.

I: Uh huh. So what do you think of the Inquisition?

BW: I'm not very impressed by its leadership.

I: What do you think of my advisors?

BW: I respect them enough to not speak behind their backs.

I: You must have some feelings about our friends.

BW: I'm sure I do. I'm also sure it's none of your business.

I: So, you like my advisors and my friends, but not me. Then what do you think of the Inquisition's cause?

BW: Restoring order is a goal I support wholeheartedly. Supporting you, however, is another matter.

I: You seem to have a problem with me.

BW: I don't like you. It's as simple as that.

I: I should've left him in the woods.
