Kubrie wrapped things up on the Storm Coast today... well, as much as possible before advancing the story a bit. She recruited the Blades of Hessarian, closed a few rifts, found an astrarium cave, and a baker's dozen shards. She killed some demons, some deep stalkers, some spiders, a few mabari, and even a couple of bears. Once the Blades are recruited, though, there isn't a great deal of fighting to do there (until later). Oh, also slayed a half dozen or so dragonlings on the way to one of those astrariums too. Bet Momma will be unhappy about that someday

 

Recruited the Bull, which is the reason we went out there in the first place. This romance is going to be tough, because in three PTs I have never been able to see Bull as someone to be romanced. He's an unfailingly loyal friend with a mostly positive outlook, who enjoys a good fight and good **** cask afterwards, and never gets down about anything for long -- or so I assume. I haven't sacrificed the chargers yet. But a LI? I just can't imagine Kubrie finding anything attractive about his man-boobs and his tiny head. 

 

Trouble is I've bypassed a couple early flirty dialogues already with both Sera and Josie, and so who does that leave? Cullen, Dorian and Solas are out of the running, as is Cassie. That leaves Blackwall, and I just finished his romance PT. 

 

Sigh.

 

Oh well. I haven't even spoken to Bull in Haven yet. Maybe I'm condemning him too quickly.

She still hasn't really started the main questline, though she did finally make it to the Avvar hold and is working on gaining their friendship. Mostly she's just been running around finding random stuff.

Found both blobs of veil quartz this time. Combined with what I've recovered from closing the rifts, I think I have about 50 or so now. Pretty armor is in Jaega's near future.

I wanted to do In Hushed Whispers, but then I wouldn't get Dorito Dorian's Corruption Staff and I wouldn't get a good start out dagger, Audacity. I could only benefit from the Templar quest. Also, I would be forfeiting the Masterwork Seeker Shield if I went to recruit the Mages. I'd end up with a stupid sword that would be of no use to me once I complete What Pride Had Wrought.

So i picked up Chasimess again and I decided to pick up where I left off in Skyhold. So I conversed with Blackwall:

 

 

So i had that conversation about "The dog" Chasimess seemed like Blackwall should of blamed other people for their actions equally and not just his own but Blackwall was like "NO! I'm MORE at fault then everyone else because I DID NOTHING!"

 

So that conversation ends and I was planning to head out to do some dragon bashing then...

 

 

Scout: "We're sorry, this member of the inquisition ("Blackwall") cannot be called upon as dialed. Please try again later."

So I had no other bloody choice to go to Val Riyoux to do the whole Val Riyoux thing for Blackwall.

 

 

I still feel this moment was Blackwall's/Thorin's second moment of awesome. his first being around the grey wardens. Anyhoo he exposes himself to be Thorin not Blackwall.

 

 

I kind of had Chasimess scold the crap out of him but it seemed like she was down with him a bit. So Cullen comes out and wonders about Blackwall's/Thiorin's fate. Since Blackwall has been helping me pwn high dragons on NIGHTMARE NO WAY AM I GOING TO LET HIM ROT. So I picked "Get him out".

 

 

To make things worse...

 

 

Liliana: "Trying to free Blackwall isn't important right now. I think talking about what we should do next is more important."

So Morrigan comes out....Wait a sec...

Anyhoo so Morrigan comes out and converses about what needs to be done and why it needs to be done.

Morrigan mentions that the eluvian works as it's own dimension between our world and the rift world and how Corypheus may try to gain some form of control of it. I personally feel if he did gain control of it it kind of would of been like the conduit in ME 1 where Corypheus can sack nations by surprise by using the eluvian to go from point A to point B in a jiffy.

 

anyway when the whole talk about the Elvian was done I smooched Josephine which took me straight to Morrigan.

 

 

Chasimess met Kerian (Son from Alsitar and Morrigan. Warden was Moonphase Demoir (female human mage). I kind of conversed with Morrigan and played the "I am unsure if I trust you" type angle with the conversation (HINT on what I may do later on).

 

 

So after all of that bloody nonsense was done I can finally act on Blackwall's fate.

Well first thing I did was pick (connections) to get him out. Since I did this it revealed a unique dialog apparently:

 

Blackwall: "By the way how did you manage to get me out?"

Chasimess: "Josephine had some connections with the royal orlisian court so she managed to get you out".

 

I found this kind of cool because I think this may win points if your are not in a relationship with either to get the two to hook up maybe.

 

Anyway I had Chasimess rip Blackwall a new one and Blackwall was sounding like he was ready to be executed but by lol fashion Chasimess said "your free to go and to be your own person from now on." Honestly if I was blackwall i wound of been shocked but he took the decision like "Ok cool thank you." Lol.

 

So i got Blackwall back.

 

 

So I hit the graves and di that one cave being investigated by the elves.

 

 

I hit some portals in the Hissing Wastes and tried my hands on the dragon there (no luck) then completed the one fort zone area in Exalted Planes and started taking Emprise Du Lion seriously and hit the two key camps and got the broken bridge marked. I did finish Liliana's mission:

I forgot I spared the spy because Chasimess personality is that type of person to gather information and not write off people. Or as Liliana and Chasimess said: "Whatever it takes".

 

 

So after conversing with Liliana at Skyhold I took Blackwall, Vivianne and ironbull to dragon bash and wyvern bash at the exalted plains. Both were a succsess.

So Vivianne's husband drinks the poison and dies. Chasimess felt bad for Vivianne isntead of "Oh sh**" ted.

 

 

Chasimess is close to hitting level 21 while everyone else is close to hitting 20. I am trying to see what I can do in Emprsie Du Lion but at some point I got to finish up Hissing Wastes. I'm getting close to ending this. I should over power the last few stages easy at the rate I am going despite some hiccups like heat seeking poison spider barrages, templar instant killers, and dark spawn archer pelters of death.

I think I should break this post up into two, because it feels frigging huge! Aaaaaand I'm out of likes again.

 

Before setting out today, Trev decided to judge the next unlucky soul.

I think that throne definitely looks like one of the comfier ones. Just look at that padding! Anywho, there were only three options for the mayor: death, imprisonment and exile. The first is far too severe for Trev, the second seems wasteful, so that means exile it is. The mayor seemed pretty displeased all the same. Cheer up, it won’t be so bad leaving Ferelden. Unless you go to Kirkwall. That’s a definite step down. 

 

The team stopped by the Western Approach just long enough to capture a keep and complete jobs for the soldiers stationed there. Trev followed in the footsteps of Anjali Adaar, by climbing up the well into the centre of the keep. What a terrible structural weakness! Not only can enemies get right into the middle of your fortress, they can easily poison your water supply! Fail.  Trev will consult Cass and Cullen on how to fix these problems later. Sera believed their first priority should be spitting over the side of the battlements. 

 

On the way to deal with bandits and varghrests, we saw another bird council meeting in progress. This time with a motivational speaker!

Next, the dreaded Exhalted Plains. It wasn’t so bad though, because the group mainly stayed where the Dalish are. They have fewer corpses, some trees, a river, lots of halla. Still, if I were the Dalish, I’d move on. Gaining their favour was a pain, but understandable for a human (what’s annoying is gaining their favour as a fellow Dalish  ). The golden halla proved to be a complete troll again, and that quest took about 20mins. Stupid halla. "I will fong you, until your insides are your outsides, your entrails are your extrails!" On the plus side, we got to watch the halla Olympics.

I’ve noticed that so far, my two Lavellans and Adaar got so much Fade-Touched material. Cadash and Trev? Not so much. One connection I’ve noticed is that the first three took Cole everywhere, while the latter too didn’t. Do I need a spirit to Fade-touch my materials for me? 

 

Trev moved onto the Emerald graves to take on the Greater Mistral. This is one of my favourite dragon fight locations, plus some of the best music for it. She’s a pretty one!

Dorian and Sera kept getting too close, so their health dropped a bit. Healing mist time! Dorian was nearby, but I used the tac-cam to find Sera. What I found... is that maybe Sera doesn’t like Trev that much after all.

We took care of Carroll, and I got to enjoy being a ranged fighter. Ah, the three of us just sat on this ledge and fired projectiles, while Cass and the templars ran around below like frenzied ants. Then Trev reached level 19! Once the others catch up, we can all enjoy some flower crowns.

 

 Marvelled at levitating birds while we made our way to Chateau d’Haunterre.

Maybe Trev just ate some bad mushrooms?   The trippy experience continued into the chateau, which was clearly beautiful once, but was now gloomy, filled with corpses, strange noises and spontaneous combustion. Sera was glued to Cassandra the whole time. Dorian didn’t say much, except to voice his displeasure at the ‘cures for magic’ they found. I’ve done this quest several times, but it always makes me uneasy. Like the Collector Ship or the Ardat-Yakshi Monastery in ME. The whole team were pretty glad to wrap that up and call it a day.

 

Edit: Huh. I swear this post looked bigger on the post preview. Maybe Trev isn't the only one eating bad mushrooms.

Me too. Bull was pretty excited. It was a bit of a surprise given how he felt about Tal-Vashoth at the time. I'd been hesitant to even make a qun'ari inquisitor, but that made it all worth it. I do like Bull despite what i said about romancing him earlier, heh.

After running around doing every side quest she happened upon, Jaega decided it was time to get cracking on her main mission to find the last Inquisitor. She took a boat out to a nearby island the professor had mentioned might be relevant. She scouted every inch of shore first to make sure no Hakkonites had followed them and came across what appeared to be an old pirate treasure. Of course it was cursed.  As soon as she touched the first chest, four super-powered despair demons popped out of nowhere.  [These are the level 30 baddies I've seen mentioned elsewhere. They were tough on casual; I'm glad I didn't find them on NM! Then again, Olinar probably would have just laughed at them as he waved his Spirit Blade in their faces. No pictures of the fight since I was too busy button-mashing health potions. ]
 
Afterwards, they finally found what they were looking for: a spirit (ghost?) of Telana, mage companion and lover to Ameridan. Preserved with her for 800 years? Orders from Emperor Drakon sending Ameridan here to deal with another threat while he dealt with the Blight. Quite the find, according to the professor. The spirit also hinted at where Ameridan had gone afterwards, and told them to follow the river and something about spires.

So, follow the river they did, back the way they had come, fighting even more spiders every step of the way. Seriously, how do the things breed so darn quickly?! The place was cleared out just a few days ago. The trail led them back to the old Tevinter outpost, except now there was a passage open that hadn't been before. Hmmm. Inside they found a shrine to both Andraste and the Elven god Ghilan'nain. The mystery of Ameridan deepens. They also found the keys to activating all those strange metal spire things they'd seen all over the area. Apparently this was the way past the ice wall that Thane Sun-Hair was looking for. Good thing, since it otherwise appeared impenetrable.




Poof! No more ice wall! They then ran away headed back to Stone-Bear Hold to plan the assault.

Dorian was most excited that Storvacker was included in this plan:

The fight with Gurd was so ridiculously easy I almost missed it. I used a Tier 1 (maybe 1-1/2) Thousand Cuts and it looked like he just melted before I even had a chance to register what was happening. Soooo different from NM last game, which took me at least 4 attempts, maybe more.

I really like the conversation with Ameridan, so I'm pretty much mashing print screen at every line. What struck me the most this time, since I wasn't reeling from the fact he looked like an older version of Olinar, was just how weary, how incredibly tired, he appears. I guess keeping a dragon in stasis for 800 years will do that to a person. He's also pretty hot.



















He had some pretty good advice for Jaega and then, in the blink of an eye, he was gone. Jaega was determined to finish what he started.
