Marcus had a big day in the Hinterlands. He picked a few bushels of elfroot and killed a bunch of rams (well, Varric did the killing part with his nifty crossbow). Ranged attack ftw! Also closed some rifts and found some weird glowy shard things that whispered creepily when he got near them. He was sure they were possessed but Solas assured him that wasn't the case. Whatever....next time the elf can look through the creepy skull eyes to find more.

He then went to Val Royeaux to have a nice, civilized meeting with the Chantry mothers. Lord Seeker Lucius crashed that party in spectacular fashion, then took his ball and went....somewhere?

His day ended by recruiting both Sera and Vivienne. He's not sure how long Sera will stick around, but this bee thing she mentioned sounds pretty useful.

Honestly i have been trying to do the same thing because like someone said I have been taking a garbage amount of pictures myself. Honestly Chasimess let alone has almost 300 pictures in my Chasimess folder. Lol. I have my folders literally organized by character (liliana, Cassandra, specific inquisitors, random people, etc). I honestly try to lump what happens per my characters and i try to show notable highlight moments or cinematics. I can go on forever with my posts but I just don't want to come across as being weird for just hogging a single page. Lol. It's just my personal feelings.

Ha, I know that feeling! I didn't take many pictures before DAI, since I was on Xbox 360 and had a crappy old TV. But now I have hundreds of DAI screenshots, and I've started taking photos of my ME PT, now I have a decent TV. I'll fill up my whole hard drive with them!

What's with this can't give a like since I met my quota deal? What's the point in letting a poster like a post if that person has met the quota? It's a conspiracy

Tell me about it. :pinched: I reached the like quota on p172, so now I have to stop reading, or I'll get confused when I come back later to like things. It's nearly impossible to catch up on both this thread and the ME one, and keep the likes flowing!

*Hides 500+ screenies of my Revas PT on PS4* Ha. Haha. Yeah. Screenshots. Nifty little things...that I totally don't overuse

Nice to see I'm not the only one that has a like problem. You'd think they'd just be happy we like posts, and just give us an unlimited number of likes to give  :P

Cleopatra Trevelyan - duel dagger

Update

This is my first playthrough using two daggers. Its going well. With my upgraded weapons and armor, I can deal a lot of damage

RANT TIME ---- I have completed 10 playthroughs so far with very few problems. In this playthrough, I've encountered numerous bugs/glitches/whatever and I still haven't been to Crestwood or seen the Empress yet. They are very annoying ------ END RANT TIME

I feel better. Do you feel better? Hahahaha

In this playthrough I decided to recruit Sera, Iron Bull, Viv and Blackwall after getting to Skyhold

I mentioned in another post that with Blackwall, different dialogue happens, but with Sera, Viv and Iron Bull, the dialogue isn't that different though I did receive some dissapproval from Sera when talking to her back at Skyhold for taking too long to recruit her

Because of the way I'm doing my playthrough I was able to save myself 4 power points. How did I do it you ask? Hahaha. I will tell you. Hahaha. I explored Emprise du LIon and did most quests. When I went to the war room I had the find red templars on th storm coast mission available for 4 power points. Since I haven't been to that location yet, I used the points to checkout the red templars. If I chose to go to the Storm coast without checking the red templars, I would have to use 4 more points to see the templars.

A couple things happened that never happen before. I was gathering materials when I received 2 fade-touched items instead of only one. Cool. And after I killed an enemy and looted him, I found 2 fade-touched items. Cool #2

I just beat Jade Empire yesterday and I've taken enough of a break to start all over on either Mass Effect or Dragon Age from Origins. Can't decide which yet.

It seems I got both Vivienne and Sera to hate my Inquisitor, with the latter being unintentional.

Well, that's an accomplishment.

There would be a third one (Blackwall), but then I did part of that quest where you collect Grey Warden artifacts to remedy that.

Well it's official....I BEAT NIGHTMARE DIFFICULTY....

Anyhoo before i go on I am going to split this into three posts: Where i left off plus Arbor Wilds, Final stretch and post comments.

Here we go!

So my mission for taking down Samson at his fort where Madox is is ready to go:

Spoiler

Afterwards i decided to head over to the forbidden Oasis and finsih the shards quest there.

Clip_%2020_zpsvode0gq9.jpg?t=1429663685

i had a issue with the spirit door but the main door was a sinch. Since i must of researched focus MAX through Inquisition bonuses I sacked the boss in one swoop by nailing him with my Inquisitors portal skill after MARK OF DEATHing. Then I hopped into the Arbor Wilds for the next to the last mission:

@Naclyn: Congrats on NM! It definitely feels like an accomplishment. Now, will you play the DLC on NM too?? ;)

Question of the day:

Does anyone know how to get to this loot bag? Is it actually lootable, or just trolling me? I haven't been able to figure it out and, as this is my 6th game, I'm getting annoyed. This is in Redcliffe, down near where Tanner is found. You can see Marcus just standing there, pouting that the bag of 3 cotton and 2 spindleweed (just guessing at the contents) is beyond his grasp. :P

Chasimess Epilouge

Spoiler

In closing playing as a DWK rouge was pretty tricky on NIGHTMARE at first because the abilities I started with were just meh but once I got SHADOW STRIKE in SUBERTUFUGE and researched the ASSASSIN POOL NIGHTMARE became NORMAL DIFFICULTY here and there despite some hiccups like some portals are a pain and some bosses are one hit killers unlike weaker difficulties like Samson.

Ok off to comments.

Are you on console? If yes, which one?

I have been playing the XBOX 360 version. Frankly I wasn't sure how the data transfer system was going to work this time around and just assumed it would be like how DAO/DAA transfered via hard drive to DA 2 and not the whole DRAGON'S KEEP thing. i knew about the DRAGON'S KEEP thing when i first started playing DAI because of the one message saying so. As far as the pics are concerned I have been using a camera for the pics. I took film class so I try to get good pics. I do admit I have gotten some barfy pics or wierd pics though.

I just found my number one frustration.

When fighting despair demons at a rift, they have a habit of moving further away from the rift. If the Inquisitor moves too far from that rift chasing the demon, the rift resets itself and the Inquisitor has to start over. That just happened to me a few minutes ago.

Oh yeah. Those cold b****** will ballerina away and spray you with ice. I don't follow them if they go too far. Just disrupt the rift several times until she dies or your team kills her.

Despair demons are a pain in the hiney on any difficulty setting. It's like if you make them number one priority the other guys will get you. If you don't they'll freeze sap you to death in such a B.S> fashion. chasing them down at times is a mistake too. One time when i had a portal in the bag I had one left. One despair demon jumped out of bounds and it RESETTED THE WHOLE thing. I WAS FURIOUS! I reloaded my save since I lost a garbage ton of potions.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. Also thanks everyone for following my playthrough. I have been enjoying everyone's playthroughs. I'm sorry for losing track here and there. Also like some of you people I have been going crazy with taking picks. Chasimess let alone just hit 326 pictures lol. I would of had more but some just came out rather bleh, frazzled, blue or in motion.

I intend to hop into someone new shortly. I'll post when I can.

PS: Lootable bags like that one are a pain in the hiney. I was able to get the one in a storage room in Campaign Du Lion by jumping on the barrels and going platform to platform. I had to be precise. Hmmm. Maybe their might be a tree you can jump on to get to it from the other side or a way to get on the wall? Some things are hard to get to. I know a-lot of the shards in the Graves are like this thing your trying to grab where you really have to be persistant on jumping on things regardless of the game saying "It's to steep". I keep telling myself "I can climb that in real life stupid" and "GET THE F*** UP THERE!!!" Lol.

The joy of bugs or something. I checked my previous run in the DAKeep, and according to it I was not friends with Varric and did not do his quest with Bianca. The Keep forces you to be his friend in order to be able to do the quest. But the game did let me do his quest even with his approval being very low. This is the 2nd time I noticed there's something up with that. I'm gonna try and get Varric to hate me again and see if I still end up getting his quest in this playthrough, and kill off Hawke just to add some spice.

I wish I could play like a jerk.  I just can't.  I'm too programmed to be a people pleaser and I feel guilty when I am mean to them.  I can barely even get Vivienne to dislike my quizzy most of the time.  And  even when she dislikes me it is based on choices of main quests, not that I go in there and treat her like a jerk or give her the normal Wyvern heart or something.

Last night  my Inquisitor Holden cleared out the rift in the lake in Crestwood.  Killed that demon for Command, and finally.... finally got some fade touched crafting materials to drop.  In previous games I got fade touched stuff while I was still in Haven and couldn't use it until I got to Skyhold.  In this game.. not so much.  I was beginning to wonder if it was glitching out on me. I didn't have much time to play since I went to the gym after work, but I managed to squeeze in a couple hours last night.

It's the same with Vivienne. She didn't like my second Inky, but I still completed her quest, and gave her the snowy wyvern heart. She even had different dialogue to accompany it, like "I'm surprised you did this and didn't screw me over" instead of calling Inky a true friend. Seems pretty weird that the Keep doesn't allow for a distinction, or just track whether the quest was completed (and not the relationship with the Inquisitor).

I was actually just on a thread about this one! I'll see if I can find a link for you, but it is possible to get. It's random junk loot and kind of a pain to get to, but if you're like me, it's still worth getting it just to make it stop showing up when you "scan"  :P

Edit: Here you go - fun little loot thread.

Congrats on your NM run, Naclyn!

And yeah, I'm still having trouble with the Keep, too. I've just got spoilers turned off so I don't have to bother with trying to get things to show up properly.

Well Dhreya's nightmare run had an eventful day. She kicked a darkspawn magister & his dragon in the nads and buried a town in the process, went to this huge castle that shifty bald headed elf knew about somehow, was made the Inquisitor despite her telling the people over and over she doesn't believe and isn't the Herald and then pissed off every follower she had because she told them the Inquisition would be shaping the world in her name and her power.

They will all bow in the name of Dhreya soon enough and anyone who doesn't will be tossed in a Fade rift. This anchor is turning out to be more fun that she originally thought!

Pictures coming soon.

I'm going to make a full party of only rogues then stand outside the cages in Emprise du Lion and laugh at that idiot yelling for me to open the cage.

It gets so damn annoying when he's always spamming.

"Yeah, I'm fighting fifty red monsters here! Are you f*cking blind?" No amount of xp or gold is worth saving them.

Yep. The near side has the invisi-wall that prevents you from jumping up there, even down by the stairs where there's a huge rock you could easily climb onto if the game allowed it. The dock side didn't let me get anywhere close.

The prisoner in Sister Cousteau's camp raving about the key is another one. Also Solas, going on about his precious artifacts when the team is hip deep in demon horde. It's not a priority right this second, ok?!

Kubrie has been continuing her adventurous wanderings through the Hinterlands, accompanied by Legolas and Gimli Solas and Varric, and the brash, spirited, and very large (even for a qun'ari) mercenary ben-hasserath (sp?) with the unlikely name of Iron Bull. They went to Redcliffe village and found out the first enchanter of the rebel mages not only had no recollection of ever meeting Kubrie in Val Royeaux, she had convinced the rebels to sign up to be servants of a Tevinter magister named Alexius. Wha? She thought the mages rebelled to get away from this kinda thing.

Sidenote: Are the mages the geth of the DA franchise... I mean, sort of?

Ah well, there was one Tevinter mage -- not a magister; he was very clear to make that distinction for all us non-Imperium barbarians -- who seemed to be not completely out of his mind and even offered to help the inquisition both in dealing with Alexius, and also with the larger problem of the big hole in the sky.... whenever we were ready, that is.

Later.

So, back to the Hinterlands to meet up with the master of Horses and kill some bandits, find some shards and another astrarium, and close a couple rifts. I had thought, since Kubrie was now outfitted with a cold-resistant deepstalker hide coat and some pretty fancy daggers, that I might try my luck at the rift by the river.

Almost.

I almost had it! Kubrie is level nine, and everyone else level eight, and as anyone who has played through that riverside rift fight before knows, the demons who pour out of the rift are level 12... so a tough fight ahead. The gang actually got through the first round without too much trouble, a fact which is causing my  for qun'ari inquisitors to increase. Solas took a lot of damage, though, and it was then that I realized I'd forgotten to swap out his cold-based staff for a fire-based one :pinched:  ...anyway  he died fairly early on in the second wave, and deprived the rest of the gang of any barrier help.

As the group ran out of health potions, Varric soon followed Solas on the sidelines and it was up to the qun'ari to get things done. I had respecced iron Bull to sword-and-shield so he had some moderate success generating guard against the demons and was able to stay alive a little longer. However once we were down to the two despair demons at the end, Bull's guard disappeared quickly because he had nothing to hit. The despair demons just kept floating away.

After Bull was knocked out of the fight, Kubrie took a deep breath, went into stealth mode and closed in on one of those floaty b******s. Almost. Couple more hits and there would've been just one left. I think I might've turned the tide. But the second one closed in and hit Kubrie with the cold beam. Deepstalker hide protects against damage (a bit) but doesn't stop the slowing of the movement. She tried to run and find Solas (figuring the barriers would help some), but there was no way to get to him and revive him in time, not without health potions.

Still, I am encouraged to try the fight again, with Solas properly outfitted and potions re-stocked. Whether I succeed or not, I'll be taking a bit of a break from the Hinterlands after this, and heading for the Fallow Mire next.
