Well I decided to Toss Qwahilin and replace him for a elf male bow rouge named Malaioniss for another NIGHTMARE run.

R.I.P.

Aloha!
It took me some time to make the guy and I kind oopsed on a few things on the way he looks but i'm happy. I kind of wanted to do another NIGHTMARE run but as a bow rouge because when I played Sera....I mean Draven (80% was Sera though) I felt playing as Sera....I mean Draven on NORMAL was almost to easy because Draven was a human 2H warrior who would pwn basic guys like nothing and I would only need to use tactics for portal busting or manually use him against high dragons. At least when I played as Sera I had a challenge. However when I play as Lylia On (elf bow rouge on NORMAL) I seem to make the game seem to easy since Iron Bull would pwn, I would pwn, and Sera (as a DWK instead of bow) would pwn. Hopefully Malaioniss would be a decent challenge. So far I am at the Hinderlands with him so it's to early to tell.
I am pretty sure there is no issue with all the tiles showing up for that one. I did have 1 tile that was missing on the wall for another though (the one next to the door leading to the garden). I think the community patch fixed that but I don't have it installed anymore. Or maybe it only glitches out sometimes.
Here's a pic I took in Olinar's game showing all 3 complete on the first floor:Spoiler
Edit: Hey, Spork, I forgot to mention earlier....last game I took Bull with me everywhere (all 10 dragons, the Fade, etc) and he did just fine. He needed very little babysitting and survived just about everything the game threw at us.
SpoilerI completely ignored his specialization, maxxed out 2H and loaded up on Vanguard and Battlemaster passives. I was also playing on casual/easy mode.
I was tempted to ignore his specialization but after I played as Draven I felt getting Iron Bull his REAVER specialization it would help me beat high dragons easier. Sure enough it did on NIGHTMARE difficulty.
Gotta love how you can freely move the camera around while using combat tactics.
This is my Dalish rogue in a color customized prowler armor and using... well, I don't remember the name. The strongest archery attack, the one with the yellow heart icon.
Nice pic. I may try that myself. Also I liked how some of the custom armors looked. I liked how Cole came out in my last custom armor that I made for Chasimess before I found the one better and last armor I got to beat NIGHTMARE difficulty.

@Spork - as far as I know, it's fine if you complete a mosaic before talking to the guy. It's just actually completing them that was bugged
I tend to go back and forth, forget where I was, and just start a new playthrough so I don't mess up whatever I was working on. Terrible idea. Think maybe I should just stick with one game at a time, for now
I never use mounts either. This last PT was the first time I really used one and even then it was only in the Wastes. At least you've a practical excuse, though; I'm just in it for the banter And the elfroot.
Finding mosiacs are a pain to me. I keep almost finishing "The Fallen" (Hissing Wastes ones) but can never finish it. I still have no bloody clue where any and all are. I hate to dive in for a help guide for something like that.
I am the same way about mounts myself. I only use mounts for Du Lions bridge and Hissing Wastes.
Thank you both
@Melbella: You know, I actually did the same with Bull in my last game: ignored the ravager skill tree altogether and went into the vanguard tree instead, and I agree; he was totally not (so) squishy. Maybe it's just because I'm still early levels yet, and in fairness to the big guy, those last two despair demons both focused their cold beams on him until he went down. Tough for anyone to stay on their feet in that situation! And it was good too, because it allowed Kubrie to sneak around and get behind the demons for better attacks.
Well the upside about BATTLEMASTER and VANGAURD being maxed is his defence is through the roof and can dish out decent damage. However what i realized when I played as Sera....i mean Draven Vollsa was Draven was carrying the team by playing meatshield. I kind of got that same feeling from Blackwall on Chasimess's NIGHTMARE run where if I needed someone to absorb damage Blackwall was my guy. Iron Bull was my pain disher because of him having DRAGON'S RAGE +UPGRADE
I never got all of the Mosaic pieces. :'( Notice me, Gatsi! NOTICE ME!!!!
Same here!
Trying (is the word, very trying) to get to the shard on top of that rocky tower the Ferelden Frostback sat on. Is there a secret way or is it just lots of jumping? because B'wall (LI), IB and Dorian think Utha has taken as much lichen ale as is good for her.
Nice man
nice pic! Steamy too.
Today I tried to get Celene and Briala back together. Instead the latter got exiled. Opps.
That seems to happen. This happened to me for my Chasimess run. I told both about the locket but Briala got exiled instead and Celene ruled alone. I think i accidentally told all three about Briala...Actually nah....i kept Celene's agent tied up. Lol. Doh.
More Dragon Hunter Challenge: How low can you go?
Took on the Fereldan Frostback (L12) on Nightmare with my level 7 KE, Cass, Sera and Solas. Despite having fire resistance up the wazoo and plenty of upgraded fire resistance tonics, this battle was a lot harder than my first run with a level 9 KE. I was feeling the lack of those 2 skill points. Solas didn't have dispel to use for fire fighting and Sera only had Exploding Shot, not Leaping Shot -- all the rest of her points were in Tempest. I also didn't have any perk points to spend on focus upgrades; Thousand Cuts with only one focus bar is pretty pathetic. No one expired on my first run, but this time I think everyone expired more than once, except for Solas, thanks to the one point I put into Guardian Spirit.
I was also a bit light on tier 2 materials, due to all the running away from engagements to avoid XP. Tier 2 armor with tier 1 materials is pretty good, but isn't enough to stop those one-shot kills from the dragon's melee attacks.
Long, ugly, bloody battle, but successful in the end. One down, nine more to go.
Ohhhhhhhhhh Ok. Lol. Previously I thought you were having difficulty reach the Storm Coast High dragon. I realized now you just want to sack the High Dragons like how the SKYRIM top speedrunner beat the game at level 1.

Apparently I couldn't lump everything in one post but whatever...
Just an observation - the guards who had their breeches stolen by Sera. I was wondering what they had on instead and then it hit me!!
Spoiler
I cannot think of the proper term off hand but I swear it's something the japanese wear? Fukamaru? Grrr....not coming to me. Lol.
Better late than never. Yesterday I discovered that my warrior can smash open a lot of the doors that require a rogue to open
wait wait WHAT???? o.O
Completed Nightmare mode and scored the Platinum trophy. MY FIRST EVER ONE!!! BOOYA!!!!
GRATZ! I completely totally utterly know the feeling.
When i recorded this moment with my camera...
It just felt satisfying as hell to know I beaten the top difficulty of this game.
As far as getting full completion I just need the "get 50 herbs from Skyhold" and something else then i am done for now until the DLC comes out for the 360 version.
When I do get all of the other achievements truthfully it wouldn't be the first time I got all of the achievements for a DA game. My first was DAO until some of the DLC"s after DAA I think.

While waiting for the mages to get themselves sorted, Marcus headed to the lovely bog known as the Fallow Mire. The goal was to rescue some Inquisition soldiers captured by Avvar, but really he just wanted to see how Dorian would deal with the cold and wet. Marcus was quite shocked that he didn't hear the man complain even once. In fact, Marcus did most of the complaining when Varric told him he couldn't open the locked door they found because....reasons. Stupid perk requirement. ![]()
The mages still weren't quite ready yet so Marcus decided to check out that last valley in the Hinterlands. He'd heard there was a dragon there but he wanted to see for himself.
Yep, that's definitely a dragon.
And that's definitely a dragon flying around. Look, it's heading our way....wait, what's it...? Run! Owowowowo....getting set on fire is not the goal here!
Yes, yes; killing the dragon is the goal. Preferably without the party dying in the process. Cass' comment about that last blast nearly roasting us was right on the mark this time.
Then the devs have to go and spoil the surprise:
Sigh. It would be really nice if they didn't just assume you don't kill the first dragon until after you get to Skyhold.
I'm beginning to think the "Playing With Fire" quest just doesn't like my male quizzies. I thought it was bugged due to mods before but it won't work again now and I don't have any mods installed. Had no problem last game with a female IQ. Weird. So, other than that and the one I need felandaris for, everything in the Hinterlands is done. Fallow Mire is done except for the locked door (grrr) and BW's Warden goodies. Haven't been to either Storm Coast or Oasis yet. I think I'm going to hold off recruiting Iron Bull until after I get to Skyhold. Up next: In Your Heart Shall Burn.

Yeah, I love collecting things, but I imagine the mosaics are a tad annoying if you don't search every square inch of every map anyway
I think I've completed all of them now, just, uh, not all in one playthrough. Maybe that should be my next goal...
In the meantime, I've decided to go back to DAO. The Reapers are probably off destroying a galaxy far, far away, but there's an unfortunate elf in Thedas that decided to wander around an old ruin and get sick, so obviously he gets priority. Obviously. Also, I only have 3 trophies left before I have them all for DAO again and it's the last DA/ME game that I haven't got all the achievements/trophies for on PS...
So Rielen Mahariel's journey begins! No screenies this time, since I'm playing on ps3, but I actually like how he turned out. I've always had trouble making decent-looking male elves in DAO, for some reason, so this was a pleasant surprise. Anyway, he and his bff Jill Tamlen were hunting when they stumbled across a couple shems. Tamlen wanted to kill them and Rielen considered it but decided to let them go when it looked as if they'd wet their pants. He didn't want to have to deal with the smell. As thanks - or perhaps a bribe to get the scary Dalish elves to let them go - the humans told us about some ruins with elf-y stuff. Off we went.
Rielen was uncomfortable about the whole thing, wanted to get the Keeper, but Tamlen insisted, and into the ruin we went. There were some weird beasties inside that needed to be put down, and then we found this big, amazing, creepy mirror. Tamlen touched it and, in true DA fashion, sh*t got weird. Rielen passed out, woke up back in camp with everyone coddling him and Tamlen nowhere to be found.
Wandering around camp, we unlocked a lot of codex entries for glorious xp found that Rielen was sick and Tamlen was gone when Duncan, something called an Off-White Warder or something, found us. Rielen was eager to go search for Tamlen and was only too happy to drag Merrill through the woods with him. They stumble upon a fresh camp, more weird monster things and finally, find Duncan. He insists we'll never find Tamlen, that even if we did, he was beyond saving. Rielen refused to believe this, wanted to keep searching, but apparently his life depends on this bloody human and time is of the essence. He eventually gives up and they break the mirror before heading back to the clan.
Grey Warden. That's what Duncan is. And he wants Rielen to become one, too. It's the only way to save him, but he doesn't want to leave his clan. Duncan is forced to conscript him, but allows him to stay for Tamlen's funeral and to say goodbye. Then he drags a surly elf boy off to war.
And that's where I am. Ostagar should be interesting, what with me trying to jump (and use biotics) and end up clicking on incorrect things instead
I honestly just started a Dalish elf because one of the trophies I need is romancing Morrigan and I quite like that the story can end as it began, with walking through an Eluvian, but now I'm thinking it'll be interesting with what we know now from DAI.
Also:

Just completed my 11th playthrough. It will be a playthrough I will try to forget since I had all kinds of bugs/glitches/whatever. Its odd that I didn't have any problems with my previous playthroughs and only this one. I did enjoy playing as a dual dagger rogue. I romanced no one.
When I decide to do another playthrough, I like to have no bugs or whatever to worry about.

Ironiclly I had the same thing happen for Chasimess. Chasimess was a female human DWK rouge and i thought I would of wound up with Josephine but it turned out I romanced no one too which made me like mumble muffle.
I had issues with mine however. Liliana's assistant was a no show and I didn't do the Skyhold book mission because of that and Sutherland seemed to be a problem where after I did the "TEST OF METTLE AND STEEL" WAR TABLE mission I got zero Sutherland quests after that which made me like wtf. I completed "TROUBLE WITH DARKSPAWN" properly but when I got back to Skyhold I couldn't socialize with anyone and had to judge Servius because if I tried to socialize with anyone instead of judging Servius I get a stupid game crash which happened five times in a row. I noticed if you go from like Storm Coast to Skyhold, not move anywhere then save your game Skyhold takes forever to load up. The red templar groups very close to Imshael don't respawn anymore which I am glad about because in Draven's playthrough when I reach Imshael I want to resupply but when i do the giant and some red templars respawn so I wind up losing my supplies then need to resupply over and over again. animals and my allies seem to have more gravity issues than I had before. HIDDEN DAGGER from the assassin pool goes through Great Bears. Using TWIN FANGS on a bears back can get me killed because bears somehow TWIN FANGS from behind counts as a front attack even when I am behind it.

I kind of did notice Josephine's face being a little different but I do agree it's barely noticeable. I still prefer Liliana in the blue but I don't understand why her hair was dyed red. I guess who ever did the mod wanted Iron Bull's "I am a sucker for red heads" to be more literal but to me honestly Liliana's hair has been that color for years (DAO). It only looks for reddish if you play DAO'S LILIANA"S SONG.

Its to be more inline with the old sacred ashes promo from back in origins day. For me its been modded to match throughout the series so it gives her some continuity in my playthroughs.

Marcus just had the best conversation with Dorian. OMG, I was so shocked that I didn't even notice the "Inquisitor" spoiler (yes, another one) until after the fact.
I reloaded so he can have this convo "for the first time" at Skyhold instead. (
not that I didn't already replay it multiple times or anything)
I thought it very amusing that Dorian didn't bother mentioning this little tidbit of family history to his very distant cousin Julia in her game. And poor Marcus, totally caught off guard and trying to pretend it's not awkward. Dorian's right: he's not a nice man.

Nightmare PT has been a pain in the bum!
Dhreya has been leaning on her teammates a lot lately. Vivienne and Cassandra had to kill the Northern Hunter while she was unconscious on the ground with Sera. Cole singlehandedly saved the whole team in the lost temple of Dirthamen when the entire party (Cassandra, Blackwall, and Dhreya) was initially wiped out by The Highest One [Stealth, Mark of Death, and Hidden Blades FTW]. It's been rough going for Dhreya lately.
She has had one bright spot though. Apparently her flirting hadn't gone unnoticed. Iron Bull showed up in her quarters to help her relieve some stress. She wasn't even cranky the whole time he was there! To be frank though, she did fall asleep immediately after they were done ![]()
One more bright spot- she only had to threaten to send the caravan back to Skyhold twice while she was exploring the Exalted Plains with Cole, Sera, and Cassandra [Team Don't Make Me Turn This Inquisition Around].

Didn't get much chance to resume Kubrie's journey from where I left her in the Hinterlands, until today. Recruited Blackwall, who seems to be falling all over himself to and gain Kubrie's attention. He's very.... insistent. I don't remember him being that way in my first game, and there Mahalie did flirt with him, even if it would've gone nowhere eventually... but then, she flirted with everyone. Dofni, of course, was attracted to the beard warden man, and so welcomed his attention.
Kubrie may simply have to drop him off a battlement somewhere if he doesn't ease up. I was gonna say she'll have to beat him off with a stick, but he's not the one who enjoys that sort of thing ![]()
Anyway, the gang -- Bull, Varric and Solas -- pretty much did all that they could do in the Hinterlands. Leaving aside the Dragon of course, and all the little things in her area of the map. I know there are shards up there, and one piece of fade-touched obsidian, and also one chunk of red lyrium to dispose of, but I dunno if they're ready for a Dragon yet. Kubrie is level 10, but we haven't really amassed any super fine dragonslaying gear yet. Haven't even recruited the mages, or gone to the Fallow Mire, liked I'd planned to do days ago.
So now I've just begun In Hushed Whispers and gained control of Dorian and Kubrie ten years a year from now. Since I had to bring Dorian, it means Solas gets left behind this time, but I still brought Varric and Bull along. I can't remember if I brought Bull along or not last time I picked the mages -- in Harold's game -- but I think i did, which is kinda lame, because i should have brought someone new. Ah well, at least Varric will be new to all this. Maker, he will love all that red lyrium around in the future ![]()
Once we're done this part, I'm thinking it'll be finally time for the Fallow Mire, and I'll be able to bring Dorian along. I do love to hear him complain about all the lovely places he gets to travel to, heh. By then the gang should be ready to fight Frosty ![]()
EDIT: I thought Dorian and the Inquisitor got sent ten years into the future but it's only one. Oops.

Last night Holden killed the Abyssal High Dragon. I took Cole with me for the first time on a dragon kill ever (I tend to not play with him). He held his own up in there - we crafted him a dagger that generates guard on hit, as well as one that shoots off daggers. Team Holden also did some farming. Lots of farming, really. Still having issues with fade touched metals/materials dropping (not sure why this game has been so crabby about them.. Even my nightmare run dropped a lot of fade touched items. This normal one.. not so much. Frankly I hate that I have to spend so much of Holden's time farming. Also I'm level 17 and for some reason I'm only getting one or two of some tier 2 metals per drop - like Paragon's Luster. This game has just been.. odd. I'm going to place blame on both Sony and EA). Tonight.. Holden and team will take on Adamant/the fade.

When I was farming materials at Emprise du Lion, I only got 1 everite and 1 silverite, both tier 3 metals. When I reached level 16, I was able to get more instead of just one.
The fade touch items is a toss up for me. At times I'm able to get a few within a couple minutes and at times it would take a lot longer.

My nightmare run has been quite stingy with the FT items BUT the ones I've picked up have been FT items I never picked up before in my normal PTs.
I've gotten a lot more cloth and leather FT items VS. FT metal items. I'm hoping now that I've reached level 16 the drops will be a bit less stingy.

My first few playthroughs, I never managed to get any FT Silverite. Revas (DW rogue on NM) somehow managed to get four without even trying to get any. So yeah, a bit of consistency might've been nice ![]()
Rielen Mahariel had an eventful day. He and Duncan arrived in Ostagar, where Rielen met the King (he's very disrespectful), a mage grandma, Anders in a cage, a sick puppy, Ash Warriors (not actually made of ash. Go figure), a few more Warden recruits, a crazy old dragon elvhen god witch, and her...intriguing daughter - also a Witch of the Wilds. Oh, and some darkspawn. He'll be seeing a lot more of those in the days to come. Oh joy ![]()
Then he drank some darkspawn blood, choked, passed out and woke up to find everything going to hell.
The horde arrived and he and Alistair got put on torch-lighting duty. Naturally, things did not work out as planned. Darkspawn had claimed the tower and by the time we reached the top to light the signal, it was too late. Loghain abandoned the King and army, pulling back his reinforcements and leaving them to die. Or worse.
Rielen seems to have a terrible problem with fainting, since he got hit and blacked out again. He woke up in Morrigan's shack (he should probably be more concerned about that) and she explains what happened, tells him that her mother saved him and Alistair and they're the only ones left.

The drops change from one or two to multiple at level 16. But what I find odd is that I'm getting like 7 silverite but only ever one or two of lesser tier 2 metals like Paragon's Luster. It is downright bizarre.
I actually lied. My ginger bro Holden is level 18, so drop amounts for all metals should be random between 1 and 9. I think the game is just trolling me at this point, as if it is saying "OMG ANDREA YOU'VE PLAYED ENOUGH STAAAAAHP!". ![]()

Back when the DLC was released, I started up my first game again and went to the Emprise du Lion to farm for FT-silverite since I'd never gotten any in three complete PTs. Mahalie -- my first inquisitor -- was a level 24 mage when I started the DLC and the main game had already been completed. It still took over an hour of farming to get what I set out for. On the plus side, I now had a crapload of regular silverite too, heh.
