Back when the DLC was released, I started up my first game again and went to the Emprise du Lion to farm for FT-silverite since I'd never gotten any in three complete PTs. Mahalie -- my first inquisitor -- was a level 24 mage when I started the DLC and the main game had already been completed. It still took over an hour of farming to get what I set out for. On the plus side, I now had a crapload of regular silverite too, heh.

I should count myself lucky then. I ended up with 3 FT silverite (guard) and 4 FT obsidian (guard) in my very 1st PT without farming [didn't even know what that meant then]. I haven't had such luck for my nightmare PT [it's been 1 obsidian only without farming]  but I have experienced it.

 That's enough to make guard generating gear for everybody.. or almost, anyway. Think I managed three pieces of FT obsidian in my first game. Maybe I should be asking you for some lottery numbers :P

Always been there as far as I know, or at least a very early patch. I got quite a few of them in my first game.

Janet Hawke

Look at that? Its a redhead fighting the darkspawn and a templar is helping her. Guess what?  They're married. He's injured. Doesn't look good. Lets go people.

BETHANY!!!!!! NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Die ogre. Just die. DIE. DIE.  Mother is in a lot of pain. My sister is gone.

ROOOOOAAAARRRR. What? A dragon kills the darkspawn for us. Cool. Can you bring my sister back to life? No. She will help us get to Kirkwall. Aveline kills her husband. Not sure if I could do that. This has been a really bad day.

There's my Uncle. Ok. I kill someone for a mercenary to get in the city and work for the guy for the next year.

All bow before the Honorable Knight-Commander Meredith who graces us with her beauty and awesomeness. You may rise now.

I meet Varric. He wants 50 sovereigns. Yeah. No. I will collect the coin that is needed to be a partner.

Who wants to see how much trouble I can cause? Me. Me too. I want to see. Stop crowding me. Let me get settled in and then you can watch the mayhem begin. Hahaha.

There is also fade touched onyx  that gives 2 guard on hit.  And fade touched lambswool which also gives 2 guard on hit.  I've only ever gotten the cloth once.  Usually I get onyx and obsidian though. Only ever gotten the silverite once.  It is seriously the holy grail.  But I'll take any material that generates guard on hit since I like to make my  inquisitor mages KE tanks. :)

FT Iron? Interesting, I've got sooo much iron, and yet I've only managed to get guard-generating FT silverite, obsidian and onyx thus far.

Anyway, can never have too much silverite! It's shiny and lets squishy mages don heavy plate armour - always a reason to celebrate that; Wynne in Juggernaut armour is truly something to behold  :P

And yeah, the throne accessories were always obtainable through resource-gathering War Table missions.

Edit: FT lambswool. Now that's...different  Shame the poor dears don't actually generate guard themselves, the number of times the Inquisition has gone out and accidentally slaughtered the wildlife...

I've NEVER seen FT onyx in any of my 7 PTs! And here I thought some of the cloths and leathers I'm coming across were unicorns.

Now I feel like hunting for onyx just to see if I can find it.

I seem to be finding a lot of the FT materials that heal you over time or on death. I'm dying for the ones that cast chain lightning or hidden blades though.

Is it sick that I got all excited when the very first iron nodule I mined in Haven dropped FT Iron? This was in my current PT. I didn't think FT drops kicked in until after Skyhold ...

Been dry ever since. That one FT iron has been the only FT item I've gotten from collecting, period, and not for lack of trying. Thank the Maker for the FT Obsidian that is readily available in Redcliffe Village.

In my second PT, I mined over 50 nodules before I got my first FT Silverite (the good kind, not the icky kind) in EdL. RNG hates me.

It is a Blight upon the world! :pinched:

I've never gotten the good FT silverite. I hope Bioware does... something... to increase the odds, or guarantee one of each FT material per playthrough. I'm sure I've said that before. But I'll beat that dead horse until it gets up and beats me right back. :P

Last night Team Holden (or :Team Ginger bro!") completed Adamant and the fade.  Holden decided to exile the Grey Wardens after all that hot mess.  Cole accompanied the team into the fade (my first time ever taking him in there.. his reactions were interesting.  He freaked out almost at the level that Sera did..).  Sadly Stroud and his epic mustache did not make it out.  Holden is still deciding on whether to support Cassandra or Leliana for Divine (no Viv as she was not recruited this game).

Not sure if I'll get any play time tonight since I take a 7pm weight class at my gym.. but, we'll see :)

Well, last I played (about a week ago) I had a weekend to play. So Aedan, Sera, Cass, and Vivienne went to Emprise du Lion to go find some Fade-touched silverite to generate guard. Well, they did, and then Aedan realized he never fixed that bridge. So they returned to Skyhold, fixed the bridge and crafted some new armor to generate guard for the Inquisitor and various weapons for everyone.

They returned to Emprise du Lion, went east and north... where they found the dragon... that they were not prepared for... at all. But they succeeded, somehow using all but two health potions. And then they went south. And came upon another dragon. And killed it without using health potions. And then they encountered the third dragon, and used one health potion. Still trying to figure out how they survived that.

I had an old Zenith tube TV die a few years ago. If I am home the TV is on as background noise - I really hate silence.  So my whole morning ritual of getting ready while the news is on was disrupted and my entire day was wonky.  I stopped at Best Buy and brought a new flat screen TV home that evening.  Too bad the darn Zenith didn't last a few more years, I could have saved hundreds of dollars since flat panel TVs are pretty cheap these days.  As it was it lasted me from high school through college and well into my early 30s.  And it was $50 (was a used hotel TV) so I got my money's worth.  LOL!

So the moral of this story is that I feel your pain.  Hopefully you will get your TV situation sorted out soon!

I decided to play with the CC after a couple of hours of MP.  Wanted to see if I could make a female dwarf - a proper dwarf, not just a small human.  I also set myself the challenge of using that horrid hair - the one with the bangs? - and she was turning out rather nicely, to the point that I thought I might actually name her and take her into the prologue.  Alas, my computer decided it was done Dragon Aging, and that it wasn't going to talk to Origin anymore, either.  Screen completely frozen...3 or 4 steps from my picture perfect dwarf-y dwarf...another day, future D-Quizzy, another day...  *insert 'deep sigh' emoticon*

Its to be more inline with the old sacred ashes promo from back in origins day. For me its been modded to match throughout the series so it gives her some continuity in my playthroughs.

Ohhhh ok. However I felt from the one picture Liliana had darker than normal red hair. It's probably just me. I don't know if I have a chance I may hop into LILIANA'S SONG to kind of show what I mean I guess.

What? No love for Ruffles?

Well as far as "Ruffles" ("Curly" or Cullen) him in the greekish white and light blue looked ok to me.

Well I used to have this one for her outfit but I lost it when I cleaned the mods out before this go round, having a tough time finding it again

DragonAgeInquisition.exe_2015-04-27-20-0

Well the thing still still bugs me a tad about this mod to Josephine is her face just looks a bit...multeched. The first pic I felt her cheeks were a bit fatter than normal now this one she looks skull like. It's probably just me.

Just started a DA2 playthrough a short time ago.

Janet Hawke - mage - sarcastic

Nice. I hope your playthrough goes well. By the way what difficulty are you doing and are you intending to do LEGACY and MARK OF THE ASSASSIN?

Nightmare PT has been a pain in the bum!

Dhreya has been leaning on her teammates a lot lately. Vivienne and Cassandra had to kill the Northern Hunter while she was unconscious on the ground with Sera. Cole singlehandedly saved the whole team in the lost temple of Dirthamen when the entire party (Cassandra, Blackwall, and Dhreya) was initially wiped out by The Highest One [Stealth, Mark of Death, and Hidden Blades FTW]. It's been rough going for Dhreya lately.

She has had one bright spot though. Apparently her flirting hadn't gone unnoticed. Iron Bull showed up in her quarters to help her relieve some stress. She wasn't even cranky the whole time he was there! To be frank though, she did fall asleep immediately after they were done

One more bright spot- she only had to threaten to send the caravan back to Skyhold twice while she was exploring the Exalted Plains with Cole, Sera, and Cassandra [Team Don't Make Me Turn This Inquisition Around].

Dragon bashing on NIGHTMARE was quite something for Chasimess. I respecced Iron Bull (twice) to have him get DRAGON'S RAGE +UPGRADE and he took the Western Approach dragon like nothing then have been taking dragons down since then almost like nothing despite some hiccups.

I cannot remember which dragon the Northern Hunter was but I remembered after Chasimess and Iron Bull threw back some drinks Iron Bull did show up in Chasimess's room offering her to 'ride the bull'. At times Chasimess seemed ungreatful and this turned out to be one of those times because she gave a emphatic "No, i'm not interested" which made Iron Bull just walk out the room. Chasimess was quite something. Yes's now turn into no's later. Lol.

Finished inquisition a month ago.. so decided to play dragon age 2 and just finished recently... which left me feeling sad? i suppose >.> might do either inquisition or origins again though... oh and finally learned how to get helm of the fortress in legacy so yay! XD

I have been tempted to hop back into DAO myself. I kind of sort of did because I needed to recreate Moonphase for my Moonphase (fem human mage) on Hard->Lightwind (fem mage) on Normal->Chasimess (fem human DWK rouge) on Nightmare storyline. I deleted Moonphase like Novemberish for memory space reasons and noticed she hasn't vanished when I was working on my Kaetlissa A. (fem noble rouge) on normal) -> Kattie A. (fem rouge) on normal -> Amolla V. (fem human Sw/Sh warrior) on Easy (first playthrough). However I noticed like Januraryish while working on some other characters Moonphase was off my list in DRAGONS KEEP so i decided to recreate her just for that reason. It took a while for her to reshow but it came out. However I think I oopsed working on the consistantcy of the thing. I am sure I shood off Morrigan leaving Moonphase to be the only mage in the group (since I killed Wynne too) which made the final battle a pain but for DRAGONS KEEP I let her have an old child god. Honestly it's been way to darn long to remember everything about my Moonphase playthrough but I remember my notable BAAAAAAAAAAD warden moments like killing Wynne, killing the dalish elves, had a relationship with Liliana, spared Severen, burned Amarathine to the ground, shagged desire demon to keep Emon's son connor possessed and many more things.

When I was farming materials at Emprise du Lion, I only got 1 everite and 1 silverite, both tier 3 metals. When I reached level 16, I was able to get more instead of just one.

The fade touch items is a toss up for me. At times I'm able to get a few within a couple minutes and at times it would take a lot longer.

As far as FADE TOUCHED stuff it seems like usually FADE TOUCHED X are certain materials on obscure locations. Like if I so happen to have to climb on so many stupid things to get it apparently it's a FADE TOUCHED X.

My nightmare run has been quite stingy with the FT items BUT the ones I've picked up have been FT items I never picked up before in my normal PTs.

I've gotten a lot more cloth and leather FT items VS. FT metal items. I'm hoping now that I've reached level 16 the drops will be a bit less stingy.

I really don't remember getting material to be an issue for any level I had while playing NIGHTMARE. However I did research the "10% to get more herbs" inquisition perk which helped big time but at times was stingy liked I needed a garbage ton of SPINDLEWEED for one of my common potions I use for dragon bashing and no matter what spindleweed I picked up in STORM COAST it kept saying...

"Spindleweed obtained"

"Spindleweed obtained"

"Spindleweed obtained"

"Spindleweed obtained"

"Spindleweed obtained"

I'm like 'seriously? No spindleweed x6 or anything? just a spindleweed?'

Oh well I guess. Lol. It was still useful.

The drops change from one or two to multiple at level 16.  But what I find odd is that I'm getting like 7 silverite but only ever one or two of lesser tier 2 metals like Paragon's Luster.  It is downright bizarre.

I actually lied.  My ginger bro Holden is level 18, so drop amounts for all metals should be random between 1 and 9.  I think the game is just trolling me at this point, as if it is saying "OMG ANDREA YOU'VE PLAYED ENOUGH STAAAAAHP!".  :)

Odd. I never knew that.

Also I feel the same way about the game trolling me too. I am doing another NIGHTMARE run. Lol. Like one run wasn't good enough? Lol.

I am sure it's been like that since when the game first came out. I could of swore i got some parts for my Andraste throne for Amolla Vollsa (first playthrough). I remembered getting some other pieces since but don't remember how.

I didn't know about those.

I am sure I have gotten FADE TOUCHED everything but I cannot remember the exact locations. All I know is as i mention in a previous post I have had to work trying to get certain materials like climbing up something to get it or climbing so far up then on purpose fall my way to it to get it. It seems like the harder to get the material the better the chance it may be a fade touched X like Iron. I do agree FADE TOUCHED IRON is great material and great for warrior armors.

I lost the ability to play any of my dragon age games since I have them on the console and the tv died.

Damn. that sucks. Hopefully in time you do get a new TV or something. I did have two TVs burn out on me since I moved in to my APT. First one was a nice big one that burnt out sometime during while I was playing the tar out of ME 1. Second one just black screened years later around ME 3. Current TV is ok. I kind of wish it was bigger but my TV SETUP is distinct so I can only fit a certain size unfortunatly.

Just a quick update for today. Kubrie and her new friend from Tevinter saved Thedas from a horrible future with a little help from Varric and Iron Bull, who both looked terrible, and Leliana, who looked beyond terrible  No matter how many times I play this game, and side with the mages, I will never get used to seeing her like that. She still kicked some serious Venatori butt, though.

Afterwards, kubrie decided not to give the mages their freedom and conscripted them into the Inquisition's service instead. What I don't understand is why Blackwall disapproves of this. Solas I can understand, but Blackwall? He's a grey warden! *cough* They're all about conscripting people if necessary. At worst, he shouldn't react at all.

Ah well. Before continuing on to my favorite part of the game, the gang is going to the Fallow Mire to see if those poor Inquisition troops are still alive. Haven't decided whether to swap out Solas for Dorian. Kinda want to save Dorian for both the magequisition PT (next game) and the romance PT (sometime in the future). Maybe I should swap out Vivienne for Solas, since Solas will be LI in the magequisition game. Vivienne did like the idea of conscripting the mages. She and Kubrie are getting along quite well these days. Hmm...

I've collected a bunch of Silverites, but have not gotten that one in my last playthrough. I have no idea why. Dawnstone is at 985 at the moment and going up because it's so easy to get them in Emprise du Lion. I'd go there as a level 10, but obviously, the level scaling there is higher.
