I decided to play with the CC after a couple of hours of MP. Wanted to see if I could make a female dwarf - a proper dwarf, not just a small human. I also set myself the challenge of using that horrid hair - the one with the bangs? - and she was turning out rather nicely, to the point that I thought I might actually name her and take her into the prologue. Alas, my computer decided it was done Dragon Aging, and that it wasn't going to talk to Origin anymore, either. Screen completely frozen...3 or 4 steps from my picture perfect dwarf-y dwarf...another day, future D-Quizzy, another day... *insert 'deep sigh' emoticon*
Has happened to all of us at least twice. Curse you BW for no autosave after completing CC!

I swear I've gotten some random items that produce guard!
I have as well. Most of the Masterwork procs are also available in looted weapons and armor. I think I picked up Gain Guard or Walking Fortress in a fancy chest near Cassandra's practice dummies in Haven one time. Felt like winning the lottery for a noob level 4 IQ.

After spending all of yesterday running around the newly discovered Skyhold talking to everyone he could (and to some people multiple times
) Marcus today headed to the Storm Coast to meet The Iron Bull. Despite some misgivings about the merc actually being a Qunari spy, he went ahead and hired him on. He just made sure Bull knew Leliana would have veto power over any reports he wanted to send out. That settled, he went in search of some missing soldiers and found the Blades of Hessarian instead. He defeated their somewhat misguided leader and recruited the rest of the Blades as agents.
Then, after much fruitless searching and wringing of hands, Marcus found the one thing that had eluded all Inquisitors before him: the legen-wait for it-dary Mighty Offense Tonic recipe!
He discovered the secret hideout of the potion keeper and not much later happened upon the mage himself, battling several of the Blades. Marcus and squad joined the fight, and they were finally able to wrest the golden key from the now-dead man's grip. Apparently the guy made a hobby out of killing people and leaving their bodies in his basement
so Marcus wasn't sad to have aided in his demise. He was also able to scrounge up some blood lotus seeds, so once he gets back to Skyhold he can begin his new career as a blood lotus master gardener. ![]()
Dorian still hasn't complained about the weather, or the sea, while traipsing about the coast for hours and hours. I'm beginning to think he might be broken?
He has talked quite a bit with Cole, however, though not about anything too serious yet. Cass stayed back at Skyhold to re-read all of Varric's Swords and Shields series so she's all up to speed once she gets her hands on the latest (currently unpublished) chapter. ![]()

He is just randomly out there in the Apostate's Landing area of the Storm coast. I usually run into him when I am not actively looking for anyone to kill. Tough as a mother to beat even when you are significantly higher than his level.
Last night after I went to the gym I did manage to get in a bit of gaming. Team Ginger Bro cleared out the rest of the quests in the Western Approach and finished off a tile mosaic set. After that we went back to Skyhold and employed Servis as a smuggler and beat Iron Bull with his pain stick (side note, the whole Qunari fear ritual reminds me an awful lot of Klingons and their pain stick from Star Trek.. I digress). Holden had a drink with Blackwall and listened to his sad dog story, when all he wanted to do was give him one of the memories of the grey items. Oh well...

Ooh, you've never found it? Mighty Offense potions are fun! Would not recommend using it with Thousand Cuts if you want a fair fight, though...
There's a nasty little mage wandering around the Apostate's Landing area of the Storm Coast. He drops a key that opens a door in the house at the top of the hill, with some random loot and the Mighty Offense Tonic schematic. My first few playthroughs, he found me or I stumbled upon him and didn't even realise he was a (sort of) random encounter for this. The last playthrough, Revas couldn't figure out how to open the door...then the mage found her wandering around, and, uh, DW rogues on NM at a much lower level than mean mages do not work out well in the whole not-dying department ![]()
If you'd like a look at the map for the room itself, I can dust off Revas for a screenie, but you'll pretty much just need to wander around looking for trouble if you want the mage. Just ask Hawke, mages are always trouble ![]()

Each time I saw the rebel mage I encountered them closest to the first camp established on the Storm Coast. They were walking near or up that hill towards the abandoned cabins where you find the Mercy's Crest schematic & map of the BoH hideout. Once they were alone and the other time they were following some BoH.
I'm going to fire up my other PTs and see if I find the mage closer to their cabin.

I've collected a bunch of Silverites, but have not gotten that one in my last playthrough. I have no idea why. Dawnstone is at 985 at the moment and going up because it's so easy to get them in Emprise du Lion. I'd go there as a level 10, but obviously, the level scaling there is higher.
Dawnstone seems hard to find for me in Du Lion. I am shocked you found that many. Probably the reason why you got that many is because of the x9's. I noticed rare materials usually get the most x9's.
Don't worry, it'll get there. I have over 660 Elfroots. I believe it doesn't work on the rarest plants.
True. As i mention in a post I usually farm elfroots at Fort Callenhend in the Hinderlands since with the "10% to obtain more herbs" perk I usually get x6 or x9's there easy and wind up with 30 elfroots in a single trip there.
However about spindleweeds....they seemed quite common in Storm Coast. I mean seriously walk the coast line and your bound to find them easy. However it's just when I always pick one up I always get a spindleweed and never spindleweek x whatever.
Even though I'm not a console gamer, I say Yay! Can't wait to hear what those of you who have been waiting patiently to play think of it.
I can't wait either. I have been playing DAI on the XBOX360 since DAI came out. If I knew about the whole DRAGON'S KEEP thingy I may of took a different route. I just assumed it was going to be like how DAO/DAA carried over to DA 2.
Uggh, really? 26th of May? It's like they want their game to die or somethin'.
I doubt that. However like what's going on for MK X apparently XBOX 1 and PS4 get it first while apparently i would have to wait for it to come out in June-December.
Did my first full run through the hissing wastes....while I liked the dwarven ruins stuff, I do hope in future layouts they don't make sooo much empty space between places...desert or no..
And ya I'm using an increased fade touched mod and seeing way more then I even knew the game had
i always had that gripe about the hissing wastes. There really isn't to much of anything in Hissing Wastes other some some dwarven ruins, the ditch, the venetori base, mountains, wild life and open desert..

I should poke around Storm Coast again. I noticed i think that's the only potion I missed for Chasimess.

I always thought when you first get to storm Coast you get the MERCY'S CREST after conversing with Harding. Regardless as i said above i'll poke around the coast again.
"The magisters bred them. It's said the mabari defected during the Imperium's invasion of Ferelden. Merely a tale, but I rather like the idea they found the barbarians more... palatable than the mages."

Wow. I'm the kinda gamer who loots every possible little thing I can find, and I know that if i encountered this mage in any of my previous games I would have looted that key. I'm positive I've found the house, and I'm pretty sure I've found the locked door, couldn't open it, then put it out of my mind thinking I'd get the key somewhere later, then didn't get the key, and just never went back.
Gah. I wonder if I went back to the Coast now, maybe Kubrie would succeed where my other Inkys failed. She's already better than any of them for defeating the demons at the river rift while being underpowered.
And it wouldn't be too much of a detour on the way to the Fallow Mire I know it's in the opposite direction from Haven Shhh loot makes distance irrelevant. .
Thanks for the info everybody

"So one run of Nightmare wasn't good enough so you decide to play Nightmare again and reached the Hinderlands and Val Riyoux?"
Surprisingly with Malaioniss I survived the prolog easier than I did with Chasimess (Chasimess sole survived fighting the pride Demon). I made my first trip to Haven and completed what I needed there. Down point was I made a meh rouge armor ("nuggy nuggy coa") that quickly got replaced later on. I socialized with everyone (except for Solas). Then I took off for my first zone the Hinderlands.
In the Hinderlands the first order of business: reach mother Gizzelle. I found her and gained her help. Then I decided to head south and do a few things there after getting some quests in the one square. I did some portal bashing southward (bow seems easier than DWK) and completed what i needed to complete within reason (southeast portal is level 8). I did the "TEMPLARS to the West" which was a semi pain but got it done then i tried the "Apostates in Witchwood". It glitched (killed everyone there and got 0 confirmation for mission completion). I went back to Haven then went back to the Hinderlands and killed everyone there again and finally got the mission confirmed done (and as a added bonus got duplicate staves now ><).
I headed back to Hinderlands and sweet talked Cullen and Cassandra. Cassandra was kind of meh about the conversation but Cullen was appalled by Malaioniss's looks (must of been the teeth. lol. I should of took a pic). So i conversed with Gisselle and everyone in the war room so I was told to head to Val Riyoux.
So i went back to Haven to figure out what to do. I decided to hit Hinderlands and crash the far south portal in the Forbidden Oasis.
PS: Sorry Blackwall...Malaioniss only takes guys with no beards. Lol.

*raises hand* Yup, that's me as well. I dunno, it took me... hmm, somewhere between one and a very large number of Mass Effect 3 PTs to attempt an insanity difficulty run. It was a *ahem* challenge since I usually play on casual. I died, umm, more than once
but I have to say it was a very satisfying accomplishment to get that achievement. So...someday I will try a DA:I nightmare run maybe

SporkFu, Nightmare is honestly just a pain until you get to Skyhold. The pride demon at the beginning is terrible - it was basically me just running around to avoid it and cast barrier on myself and try to revive people. I went the mage path but Alexius is not too bad if you spec your team correctly - I've heard Envy is worse. The hardest battle after that is Haven. And put Jar of Bees on everyone and keep cranking the last trebuchet and it will all be okay. Don't even stop to kill Denam/Fiona. Goes right to the cutscene. And I was never one of those people who played on nightmare on any game before ![]()

Nightmare isn't that bad. Starting off is a bit of a pain with how much dmg they do and how little you do. Once you get a few levels and some gear it's just another faceroller difficulty ![]()
