As far as my own game goes, Aud finally dragged her sorry behind out of bed in Haven. She scared a poor servant half to death the other day, demanding to know where she was. And when the little elf told her to meet with Cassandra? She decided to just stay in that little cabin while the Overlord did other things So today she wandered around Haven while people gawked. She's used to being watched, but usually it's by guards - Threnn's the only one that seemed to realise she's just a lyrium smuggler and not this "Herald of Andraste" everyone else seems to be calling her.

 

When she finally makes her way to the Chantry to meet with Cassandra, that bureaucrat tried to have Aud arrested. Cassandra stopped him and kicked him out. Ha!

 

Then proceeded to start up some holy war with Leliana and dragged Aud into it. Ugh.

 

On the bright side, it can't be much worse than how things have been, right? And because they need her, maybe she'll actually be able to call the shots. In the meantime, she's just run a bunch of errands; making armour, potions, filling requisitions, killing nugs, etc. We're off to the Hinterlands now that everything one can do in Haven is done, so, uh, guess nobody's gonna be hearing from us for a few months

Just got done judging Duchess Florianne as my Snarky Qunari. I really wish I killed her. Judging her as a box was so much better when I played my Snarky Dwarf.

Bad news folks

 

I was about to start Act 3 when I realized I forgot a quest back in Act 2 that I didn't do. So to calm my nerves, I just came back from the store with a beer in hand so I can do this quest in Act 2 and replay the Qunari fighting. Cheers.

My first PT I didn't know the cutoff for the quest, so that was the only time I did it like that, but I still don't recommend it I was on hard and I spent the entire fight running up the stairs, taking potshots, jumping down, rinse and repeat with the rest of my team dead. I sided with the elves and they weren't much help, either. If you've already got the power/areas unlocked, I'd say just do Before the Dawn quickly so you don't have to deal with it later. If not, it shouldn't be a big deal. I think you've done a NM PT? You should be fine either way.

Hmm....I bought enough power to do Arbor Wilds, but Marcus is actually still level 16, about 10K points away from level 17. Not sure I want to tackle that beast just yet, so I may do Before the Dawn like you suggest. I have both Graves and Lion unlocked already. I just have to force myself to not stop to look at/pick up Every. Single. Thing.

 

Wasn't that kinda the same bug that happened with the "Present For Bianca" war table mission? Except there, the advisor was free to do other things, but the mission would never complete. I think they patched that one. I've noticed since getting to Skyhold that a couple missions involving Qun'ari have come up. Maybe I'll make sure I'm not doing anything in their mission chains when it comes time to go back to the Storm Coast.

No, this was my whoops. I had a Chargers mission active but for some reason they can't complete it if they're all dead.  If the advisor hadn't gotten stuck in limbo I probably would have left it alone.

In Olinar's game, he didn't talk to Dorian about the amulet ahead of time. He just went and got it as a surprise. Marcus will make sure to do all the extra chats with Dorian first. Ahem....after he goes back in time.
 
 

I think it's almost impossible to craft a Superb Cleansing Rune if you do not grind for Revenant Hearts 'cause they're only in specific rifts and most of the Revenants you fight do not drop anything because they are mission or side quest related. I believe if you don't grind, you'll only end up with 5/6 Revenant Hearts total towards the end.

Hmmm.....I seem to usually have enough for at least one, sometimes two. I think that means I fight too many Revenants! My favorite is the Superb Spirit Rune for the mages though.
 
 

I just made it to level 22 with still a lot of stuff left to do in Act 2. If I had to guess I might end up at level 25 by the time I start Act 3
 
I do agree fighting that horror and its minions at the altar was a pain. I used crushing prison on the thing while my sidekicks took care of the low lifes.

I miss Crushing Prison. But I don't miss enemies casting it on me.

 

Marcus spent yesterday running around Skyhold talking to people. He subtly tried to persuade Cassandra that her becoming Divine was a bad idea. Maybe he'll chat a bit more with Leliana about it to see if she's more interested in the job than Cass is. Not that he's biased or anything.....

Ok. Missed quest done.

 

The quest was going to the Bone Pit and checking on the miners. I got rid of the spiders and the undead. I went back a third time, something I've never done before, and to my surprised was another quest. It was to get them new pickaxes.  For doing all that I received over 4 000 experience points. It made a difference.

This is going to change my Dragon Hunter plan a bit. Gold is easier to farm than schematics and there are some very nice Tier 3's for sale in the BE. Even so, I'd only have the patience to save up enough for maybe a couple of the most expensive schematics, but a single staff schema will make gear for my IQ and for Solas, a two-fer!

 

I played around with the mirror a bit, but ultimately, decided to leave be.

 

Speaking of gold, I'd be able to mint real money if I could sell a mod that turns the little pets into companions. Who wouldn't want a mini polar bear?

Ah okay. Still... good to know when the time comes to sacrifice the chargers in my game. Note to self: Make sure no war table missions involving the chargers are running.

Marcus is still working on Before the Dawn. One more war table mission and then he can head to the Temple of Dumat. Between chasing down letters in the Emerald Graves (and running from a giant after grabbing the last one) and getting lost in the mine maze of Emprise du Lion, he somehow found time to meet with an Orlesian judge to finalize the du Parawhoevers getting noble-ized and also accompanied Leliana to Velance where she didn't kill Sister Natalie. He also squeezed in some private time with Cassandra, again trying to convince her that she doesn't want to be Divine. The scuttlebutt in Val Royeaux seems to say otherwise, though.  Stupid gossip-mongers.

 

I did pretty good with the not getting distracted thing today, though I did gather enough dawnstone to make a new sword and some armor (which I then tinted with dragon bone). I figure if I'm going into the finale somewhat underleveled (as opposed to ridiculously overleveled) I will need all the help I can get.

The Hat is sad. To the surprise of everyone who isn’t Trev, this didn’t work. Varric thinks it’s because Cole is too human now, and Solas thinks this is stupid. Solas dear, please try to explain your point of view without being incredibly condescending.  Varric might not know much about spirits or the Fade, but he does know people.

 

They headed out to Redcliffe and heard a disturbing tale about the original Cole. Trev wonders if Vivienne knew about this sort of thing occurring at the White Spire. What would she say if she knew? Was it the reason she was so eager to elevate herself? It’s certainly giving Trev second thoughts about the Circle system. It would need a complete overhaul – more power to mages and more controls on templars. Of course, he’s already thrown his Divine card in Viv’s direction, so it’s pretty moot now.

 

Cole was encouraged to return to his true nature and forgive the piece of sh*t guy who let the original Cole die. Something about the lighting in this area made everything so pretty.

The group headed to Valammar to meet Bianca. They’ve already been through this place, so there isn’t much left to see. Bianca and Varric were flirting so much, Trev was starting to feel like a third wheel. With Cass and Dorian as the fourth and fifth wheels respectively. It’s some freaky looking car.  The revelation that Bianca was to blame for Coryfish accessing red lyrium led to sad faces all round. Somehow, Trev is certain they’ll make up later.

Leliana met Trev at Valance. I hope someone’s covering the rookery while you’re out. The birds might feel neglected and plop all over Solas’ desk in revenge.

Note to self: don’t hug Leliana. She will make a scary face. And then try to slit your throat. Look, even that painting is alarmed! 

Fortunately, This is a Nice!Leliana PT, so she abstained from the murdering and was content to head back to Skyhold with an empty box and shoulders free of burdens. 

 

In a bit of remarkably bad timing, a letter from the Hero of Ferelden arrived. The bugs continue! My female Warden asked Trev to look after her family – Morrigan and Kieran – because she couldn’t bear the thought of them being hurt. The kicker? This is a Warden who stabbed Morrigan in Witch Hunt.  It was followed up with a note about Cousland’s actual lover – Leliana. She implored Trev to keep Leliana on the right path. Job done! I’m still laughing about that though. My God, that’s silly. It even says Cousland is female in the HoF codex.
