Cole was encouraged to return to his true nature and forgive the piece of sh*t guy who let the original Cole die. Something about the lighting in this area made everything so pretty.

I like both options for Cole but prefer the more human path. I don't see the sense of forgiving someone by making them (and yourself) forget what happened that needed to be forgiven. It makes it kind of moot and renders the forgiveness meaningless. Plus, trolling Solas is fun.  He may be ancient beyond imagining, but he's not always as smart as he thinks he is.

Have your main character run around a tree, column or in an empty area in circles watching what your companions do. They look confused as to which way they want to run. I do that for about 15-20 seconds. I know my Hawke enjoys running in circles from time to time

I was afraid I couldn't get Corporal Vale as an agent because I recruited the mages before completing all his sidequests, but it turns out I jut forgot where Whittle was.

 

As of now I've killed the Fereldan Frostback and the Northern Hunter, and I've given my human inquisitor In Death, Sacrifice. It's nice to find a replacement for the Superior armor I found as a random drop hours ago.

There's somrthing very cool about the Abyssal High Dragon quest. You really have to work to get that thing to show up.

Yeah, old Freddy is quite a character. It's cool that you can get him as an agent, also.

 

That said, I am a tiny bit annoyed by the quests, but only because I'm trying to avoid earning XP for my made-up, self-inflicted Dragon Hunter Challenge. I'm trying to kill all 10 dragons and finish with the lowest possible level + XP. On my first try I ended up with level 19 + 6868 XP, so that's the number to beat.

I know I haven't said this yet but this is definitely an intetesting challenge to read about. ;What if you waited until you were significantly higher level than the dragon before fighting her, so that you would actually get less experience? In my last game, my inquisitor was already level 22 or so when I went to Emprise du Lion and I don't believe she got any experience for fighting Hivernal. I could be wrong about that, but isn't it the case that if you're 3+ levels higher than the monster you're fighting you get no experience? Ehh, you're pretty knowledgeable about the game. I'm sure you've thought that through already.

I finally got the Superior Prowler Armor to show up. With this I have a shot at getting 100% critical chance.

Marcus finished his speed run today. Cass was named Divine.  I was hoping for Leliana, but I think I messed up when I picked the option of "You can do whatever you want" instead of "Rebuild the Seekers" when talking to Cassandra. Whoops. Well, all the more reason to go back in time and romance Dorian instead.  Marcus did tell Cass he had plans, after all.

 

Having so many undone quests in my journal was really weird, although not doing Inner Circle ones led to some different dialogue at the party. Bull is still a Ben-Hassrath without having sacrificed the Chargers; Cole feels safe enough with Cory dead to not worry about being bound anymore (he also refused to go to the final battle since binding was still possible); and Varric suggested a game of Wicked Grace so Marcus could finally learn how to bluff. Heh, that man is too honest for his own good (see above regarding the Divine selection). Dorian, his best friend, is staying put for now, as is Sera because.....reasons.

 

I took bucketloads of screen shots so I will try to pare them down and post some later. Got to get them uploaded first and that can sometimes take a while.

Whoops. Well, all the more reason to go back in time and romance Dorian instead.  Marcus did tell Cass he had plans, after all.

You may have been too subtle when trying to get Cass to step down from the Divine election; rebuilding the Seekers or not has no effect, as far as I know. Choosing the flirt option there ("you can do anything") only affects whether she rebuilds the Seekers, which she will always do unless told not to.

 

Interesting that so many things changed without doing the Inner Circle quests, though. Especially Cole refusing to go

How long did it take to finish the game?

Well, it wasn't a true speed run since I was doing everything up until Marcus' romance dilemma, which I have marked at 56 hrs. I finished at about 78 hrs, so 22 hrs to do Cass' romance quest, Adamant/Fade, WEWH, Before the Dawn, Arbor Wilds and the finale. There were a few side quests mixed in but not many. I did run around talking to people quite a bit, and I probably spent at least a couple of hours messing with inventory and crafting stuff. I didn't go to the Oasis or Hissing Wastes at all, and I have 4 regions with uncleared maps.

I got that scene last game ... Pretty cool. I didn't even know it would happen, I just went to Val Royeaux to check out bedroom furniture one last time and there it was.

I did a playthrough that took 17 hours. I might do another fast playthrough to see if I can lower my time

My Inquisitor has 100% critical chance thanks to Varric, who was 80% critical chance himself. I think Varric is staying in my party for the rest of the game.

Arbor Wilds and Temple of Mythal. I really like Abelas' armor. Me want. I also didn't realize how hideous the red templars are until seeing this one close-up. Eewwwww. Also, when did Samson learn how to turn into a giant??!

*ahem* Congrats on finishing another PT. Harold feels Marcus' pain and I feel your pain regarding the lighting in the finale party. Agreed, it's horrible!

That is absolutely correct. I've been looking for a way to exploit that, but so far haven't come up with any. By the time I'm high enough level to go hunting wild rams or wolves or whatever at 0 XP risk, I have enough gold to just go buy that stuff at the store, saves time.

Do you remember how many rezones? I got lucky in my last PT, only took two. I've read of people doing 50 rezones and still not getting it. That's probably going to be me in this PT.

 

BTW, I was hoping the Black Emporium would be a faster rezone than Val Royeaux, being a much smaller map, but if anything, it's a few seconds longer, go figure.

OMG! I very carefully set that up at the War Table, but could not find the wedding anywhere in Val Royeaux ...  but I only searched the ground level, doh! I ran around in circles on the ground level for like 20 minutes and finally gave up, figuring it was bugged.

So that's what it was! My favorite PT/IQ can't be used for the DLC, because I don't go anywhere without Cass and I accidentally made her Divine. All that softening of Leliana, for nothing!
