A little bit of this:
Janet Hawke
Meredith: You will side with me?
me: Of course Meredith.
Meredith: You can deal with....your companion however you see fit
me: Ok. Everyone grab your favorite weapon to kill this clown
Varric: I got Bianca
Fenris: I'll stick with my giant greatsword
Aveline: I'll bash his skull in with my shield
Isabela: I will using a throwing knife
Sebastain: I'll stick with my bow
Merrill: I can't kill a fellow mage
me: I will use a pitchfork. Everyone ready? KILL
Orsino: Yes I hide Quentin from everyone.
Carver: Why?
me: He killed my mother.
Meredith: Wait. You've done a lot for this city Champion. I will have my templars take care of this...individual. Templars? Take him back to the courtyard and skin him alive. I want the whole city hear him screaming
me: Thank you Meredith
Meredith: Meet with me when you're done here
Meredith: I'm sorry Champion. For some reason I need to kill you. I can't do it. I will ask you to kill me before I can harm you
me: Wow. I'm not sure I can do that. You've been a good friend
Meredith: You have to before I can hurt you
me: Very well. You will be missed
I finished at level 29 about halfway to level 30. The highest level I've finished before was level 25 including all dlc.
I loaded a save for one of my character's from DAI to buy a few of the schematics from the Black Emporium. The schematics for armor is a little different in looks, but the specs are about the same depending on what material the player uses
The weapons would be where I would put my coin.
As folks are aware, the best weapons can be obtained by doing the Tomb of Fairel quest in the Hissing Wastes except a staff.
I found no one-handed schematic in the Black Emporium that is better than the Serpents Rage axe that can be obtained through the quest I mentioned above.
The Bow of the Beresaad is a very good bow and better than the bow schematic that can be collected from the quest mentioned above. It has a grip that can be added as well
The Perseverance Bow isn't bad, at least in looks, but has no grip, only a rune slot
The Greatsword schematc collected from the above quest isn't bad. It has room for a grip and pommel
The Sulevin Blade is stronger, but has no grip or pommel, only a rune slot
The dagger schematic found during that quest isn't bad
The Blade of Red Birth dagger schematic is really cool looking and has more damage than the schematic that can be obtained during the above quest
The shield of the Empress looks nice with the lion head on it. Its good for defense
Wntersbreath shield is good. Its good for offense
I don't know if these schematics are offered at the beginning of the game, but if they are, the player will have an advantage over any enemy even on nightmare mode. Just need enough coin to purchase the schematics

Ahem. Aud Cadash decided the Hinterlands was a waste of time, so after recruiting a few agents, she dragged Mother Giselle back to Haven and headed off to Val Royeaux...after spending about an hour talking to everyone. Jeez, what a group of characters. And she thought her...organization was bad. At least Varric's easy enough to relate to.
Anyway, when we arrive in Fake France's capital, we find the templars as well as the clerics we went there to meet. Aud wasn't too terribly bothered by Lord Seeker Loony turning on them (she said she was about to punch the cleric too. Bit of a temper, eh?) and tried to recruit them. That didn't work out so well. Then someone shot an arrow at us and someone else invited us to a party or something. Aud ignored that one, but went around town looking for red items with messages leading to a certain elven troublemaker (whom I failed to get a screenie of. Darn). She's the first person Aud's met in a while that didn't immediately call her the "Herald of Andraste" or "heretic" and Aud immediately appreciated that. Not so much the giggling about her height, but this Sera is already interesting so she can work with it.
Then we fought some guards without breaches, recruited this "Red Jenny" Sera, talked to Grand Enchanter Fiona, and next up we might be heading back to the Hinterlands (ugh) to talk to the mages. Aud thinks this is pointless, would rather go after the templars, but we might want to hear the mages out before we decide. We'll see.
Not that I have any plans already, or anything... ![]()
Marcus is re-exploring the Western Approach. He got about halfway done last time before going all speedy, but now he's exploring the entire region. Just need to track down Servis and then meet up with Hawke and Stroud. Oh, and see if Frederic knows what he's talking about re: luring a dragon. He got a preview of the target early on:
Loaded inquisition yesterday for the first time since i abandoned my second run through. Shianni my dalish dual wielding rogue was eventually created after several frustrating restarts due to encountering the intro bug. I'll see if i can find a way to enjoy the experience this time round.
TINY ADORABLE BEAR!!!

Team Holden took on the Arbor Wilds yesterday. We jumped down the hole (this was my first time doing this). That made Morrigan crabby. But sometimes you need to make Morrigan crabby. We also used the rune on Sampson's armor and he was royally PO'ed about that. Tough noogies. Morrigan ended up stabbing Abelas in the back because he was going to destroy the well. Team Holden (Cass, Dorian and Cole) were all quite against Holden drinking from the well, so he grudgingly decided to let Morrigan do it. Holden would have liked to have destroy the thing and be done with it (but we all know that is not an option).
Afterward Holden touched base with all his companions. Dorian said he was going to go back to Teventer to try to change it. Holden wanted to be selfish about it and tell him he needed Dorian here, but decided to be a better person and tell Dorian to do what he needs to do. (I've never chosen than option before - usually I suggest that quizzy accompany him to Teventer).
Seems like its just about time to do it to it, no? Strictly end game stuff now...
Loving your screens, von uber! And that Sera one...
Thanks. It's something I did for Mass Effect and thought I would do the same here (although it is less cinematic than ME). Does massively slow down play through time though.
I started a new DAI playthrough
Jaclyn Trevelyn - mage
What's going on? Someone is trying to change my look. Hey. Stop that. Leave my lips alone. You changed the color of my eyes. How dare you. I will give you credit though. The red hair is a nice touch even the hair style. Now. No more messing with my looks.
Who are these two women? And what's with the sparkling thingy on/in my hand. I knew I shouldn't of joined those guys for a drinking game.
The scarred looking woman wants me to help close this green looking thing. She calls it a breach. I realize I don't like the color green. I just don't know why.
We run along enjoying the scenery. Look at that. Demons. And look at that. A staff located near me. How convenient.
Part of the river is frozen. Look. A pair of skates. Cool
scarred woman: What are you doing?
me: I'm going to do some figure skating.
scarred woman: WHAT? You can't be serious?
me: Yes. I was a figure skater before I became a mage
scarred woman: Really? You're full of crap. You just don't become a mage, you're born as a mage.
me: I studied magic. I'm pretty good at it.
scarred woman: Keep believing that. Now stop whatever you're doing so we can deal with the breach.
me: Fine. You're a real party pooper. By the way, what is your name?
scarred woman: You may call me Cassandra. Lets get going.
As i move forward I see a little man and a thin man fighting demons. The litte guy is Varric who has a nice looking crossbow he calls Bianca. And the skinny guy is an elf named Solus. He grabbed my hand and the whatever is gone. Hmm. I have power. The power to close this breach thing. That gives me an idea. I'll refuse to help them unless they give me a 1 000 pounds of gold. Nah. Lets make it 100 pounds of gold. I don't want to appear as a greedy person. Haha
Oh boy did that Cassandra woman have a hissy fit when I said that. She needs to find a guy or something.
Ok. There's the giant looking breach. I like to know why I don't like the color green. Hopefully I get my memory back to know how why all this happened
Hey look. Its a big demon. I put on the figure skates. I do figure eights around the demon while casting spells on the thing. Its dead. I close the breach and pass out.
I wake up to see an elf girl. She tells me the Cassandra woman wants to see me. Fine.
A little bit of this:
Gorgeous. You have a great eye.
I have to know the technical details. What platform is this on? How do you free cam? How do set up the shots: pause, and then free cam to frame each? Also, how do you play with no HUD!?!
Honestly, EA marketing ought to use your shots. You'd double their sales and get even the most "I hate RPG" gamers to buy.
I left Stroud in the Fade so male Hawke could return to Isabela, then recruited the Grey Wardens. When I returned to skyhold I carried out the following judgements:
Magister Livius Erimond: Execution
Ser Ruth: Divine Forgiveness
Mayor Gregory Dedrick: Give him to the Grey Wardens
Mistress Poulin: Released
Next, I decided to max out my healing potions, lyrium potions, restoration potions, and mighty offence tonic.
After I reached 100% critical chance on my own, I benched Varric for Cassandra and crafted her Tier 3 weapons that gave her +5 and +3 guard.
Right now I'm hunting down Cassandra's rouge Templars, one of which requires me to investigate the Darkspawn in the Western Approach.

Cullen: Why is everyone sta----?
Cass: See for yourself Commander
Leliana: I'm at a loss for words
Cullen: Is that the Herald? What is she doing?
Cass: According to her its called figure skating. With the pond frozen she is able to enjoy her time skating.
Josephine: She looks very graceful. Ooooh. Did you see that? She jumped up and twirled around and landed smoothly on her feet.
Cass: Get a grip. We have to kill her after the breach is closed.
Leliana: Not so fast Cassandra. There are many rifts that need to be closed, so we don't want to get rid of her just yet.
Cullen: I have to admit she looks amazing.
Cass: I can't imagine why Commander. Alright Leliana. We'll keep her around for the time being
Josephine: I wonder if she will teach me to do what's she's doing? Even the crowd gives her an applause when she does something fancy on the ice. Ooooh. Look at that. Twirling around on one foot while the other is in the air.
Cass: I'm getting a drink.
me: What's going on?
Leliana: You need to talk with a Mother Giselle
me: Ok. Can I bring my skates?
Cass: What? Forget about those things. Bring your staff. I'm sure we will run into some baddies.
me: What's with all the negative waves Cassandra?
Cass: WHAT? Ah...I'm sorry. Lets go talk with the Mother.
TINY ADORABLE BEAR!!!
I won't lie, the cute little animals running around might be one of my favourite parts of the Emporium. That and Xenon saying "I liked your old nose better..." You old troll, you. ![]()
Told Cass to leave the Seekers behind, then I completed her romance arc. Some time later, I earned my Master Alchemist trophy!
EDIT: So you can see the VInsomer vs. Giant fight in the Storm Coast even after you kill her.

Ta - I learnt a lot from doing it for Mass Effect:
This is on PC with most setting on ultra. Someone has released a handy utility called DAI Cinematic tools. This enables freecam (and a lot of other options, like no HUD). I basically pause the game, then arrange the camera for the shot (I use FRAPS to take it).
Sadly haven't found a way to pause and freecam in cutscenes yet.
I thinky my current game might be broken. I just finished everything I could do in the Forbidden Oasis. Haven't completely unlocked the Temple of Pride because I'm not even halfway through collecting all the shards yet...but everything else i could do there is done. Varric and Bull had an interesting discussion about being a spy. I don't remember it word for word, but basically Varric wanted to know about all the cloak-and-dagger and secrecy stuff and how Bull got away with it, being so large obvious. Bull said the cloak and dagger stuff was all crap, and that drinking, fighting and occasionally writing about it was all there was to being a spy. Varric couldn't decide whether Bull was the worst qun'ari he'd ever seen, or the best.
... later, Bull wondered wherre all the bad guys came from in Varric's stories, and Varric went into an in-depth description of how sometimes they were from Tevinter, and sometimes from Orlais, but the best villains were the ones who were right next to the hero the whole time. Bull said that wasn't what he meant. He just wanted to know why sometimes they seemed to just drop out of the sky, and Varric said, "Oh, I like to leave some things up to the reader's imagination."
Nice little nod to DA2 there, I thought. I think i'm going to enjoy having Varric along on quests. Dialogues are starting to pick up anyway.
Anyway, after the Oasis was done, I returned to Skyhold for the first time since the battle of Haven. I proceeded to go around and talk to everyone, like I usually do in all my games, and Bull was standing outside the Tavern instead of sitting inside it, like he's supposed to, and the only dialogue I have with him is, "so you wanted to get drinks?"
...the last time Bull and Kubrie talked they were in disguise and found some random mercs to talk to, so that Bull could teach the new inquisitor a lesson in how her armies were made up of real people.... Is this "so you wanted to get drinks?" discussion the normal next dialogue with Bull? I can't remember.

Remember when first visiting Val Royeaux the woman is preaching to the people? That templar walks up and punches her in the head. Once you gain control of the Inquisitor and talk to her, she is holding her right side. Why? I would believe she would be rubbing her head after being punched.
I don't know. Its something I noticed a few minutes ago.

Everyone likes Ser Barris, but what nobody realizes is that he gave the Revered Mother a kick in the ribs after she went down. The scene was cut from the game as part of an anti-grey warden conspiracy to make the templars seem like misunderstood heroes.
