I saw one there too, was shocked nobody made this pun

Your Trainer is my favourite  :P I've yet to play Rift Mage, let us know how you like it please?

I tested it out right away after wiping my other skill points, and it's lots of fun! Solas doesn't do it right, but my Mage is good at it. Lol I like Stonefist, it was a fav of mine as a Mage in DAO, and Pull of the Abyss is lots of fun, but Firestorm is amazingly OP! Took out all the Gurguts in the Plains in one shot!  :o

And here I thought Firestorm was bugged to be less effective :o

I think pretty much all of mages use their specializations wrong  I liked Stonefist a lot, too. Pull of the Abyss should make some pretty amazing combos too (mines and things) and yet....I'm not even sure what Solas does. Elf-y stuff, I guess?

My next mage game will be with a rift mage. Just because of my trainer :D

I'll also have to play as a Rift Mage Inquisitor sometime. First played as Solas for a while and it was loads of fun combining it with fire/lightning spells. And yes, the trainer. "It's.. INCREDIBLE!!!"

Not for me, but maybe it was fixed? I was shocked at how OP it was.

I think the one thing Solas does without my asking is revive the fallen and protect us. Other than that, I have to make certain attacks preferred attacks. He used to do a good job with Frost Step, now even preferred he never uses it. There's been some odd stuff since patch 7, especially characters freezing or not joining the fight like they did before.

I'll stick with Knight Enchanter. I like to get up close and personal with the enemy. I want to see the look on their face as the life is drained from them as my spirit blade cuts them down. Hahahaha. Fear the enchanter

Your Trainer is hilarious. I haven't done rift mage yet (I keep getting distracted by the light saber spirit blade) but force mage in DA2 was loads of fun. Have you gotten Bull's conversations straightened out in your current game? I don't think you can get the romance going officially until after the Chargers mission.

I know what you mean. When I played through the DLC, I went with my first inquisitor, and I'd kinda forgotten how much fun it was being a jedi knight-enchanter, but I can't pass up on your trainer again.

I kinda did. I went from the Forbidden Oasis to the Black Emporium -- changed Kubrie's appearance a bit -- and then back to Skyhold, and Bull was still standing out in the courtyard. D'oh! So I ignored him ^_^ and went about all my other Skyhold business, including sitting in judgement on a couple people -- Movran (recruited and exiled to Tevinter) and Alexius (recruited and sentenced to a lifetime of magical research. Oh, the humanity). Then when I went back out into the courtyard, everyone was in their proper places yay! So I went to the tavern and talked with Bull ...and met the Chargers anyway.

Speaking of the Chargers.....yes, I saved them again. I just adore how Bull treats them all like they're his children. ^_^ Gatt can just go gatt himself. :P

This is kinda why I was delaying meeting them, because I plan on sacrificing them this time  Only so that I can remove that particular "what if..." from my brain and never sacrifice them again.

Now Kubrie and the gang are in Crestwood solving Crestwood problems. Turns out you don't need Solas to recruit Jana; all you need is the Noble knowledge perk (or something) and you can talk her out of joining the wardens. I dunno if Dorian I'm tempted to call him Doorian from now on is happy that I didn't send him back to Skyhold, or disappointed that I didn't send him back to Skyhold. :P

This is why I always invest a few points in the double daggers skill tree, even when I go archer. At the Winter Palace, fools are gonna get an ass full of enchanted blades.

Lol that was months ago. That was a fateful day. It was the day I also discovered Solas' room equals a pit into the Void where a musical box fruitcake plays and everything floats. So far patch 7 only broke Cullen's, Cole's and my Inquisitor's necks and freezes my companions in tactics mode.

I never tried that with my tempest archer, but i did spend a fair bit of time backflipping away from people when they got too close, and I remember thinking, "Boy, it sure would be nice if I had some grenades daggers..." I keep a bow for my current DW rogue for those times when I don't want to get too close, but I haven't put any points in the archer tree yet.

Cassandra does this to me. Frequently. It's rather amusing, watching her beat Bull with a stick while another Cassandra is attacking training dummies :P

Edit: That music box! It's not just me?! That happened to me back in November, on PS3. Went to talk to Varric, fell through the stairs and...so weird.

Not since I got patch 7. I stopped after the BE arrived. I am not quite sure why they can't lift their heads, but it's funny! Lol other than that, the game is great, but the companions freezing is a common issue it seems and was mentioned in the Help section, as well as Solas' hidden room. LOL

Yeah the Void is pretty famous. Lol I was running really fast and made a quick turn into Solas' room and suddenly I was falling into nothing. Then the music began...

Cool. Didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up. I already have that perk. Haven't been to Crestwood yet, so I will be sure not to have Solas with me.

I like keeping my options open, since rogues are pretty much the only ones, save Knight-Enchanter, that allows you to go back and forth between proper ranged and melee attacks. Plus, with the hefty attribute bonuses you can get in masterwork crafted gear you don't really have to worry about unlocking a lot of passives. I only used the daggers during Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts so far, because it just seemed appropriate that my assassin was going to be in closed quarters this time around, and that dual-blade slicer mat you get from the dwarven tomb makes a fantastic pair of weapons.

Shadow strike is a good melee ability for both though. No matter what, I always have that. It's always good fun to sneak up on an enemy and give him/her a face full of spiked knuckles.

I don't remember exactly how it plays out, but I think it kinda looks like nothing happens, making you think you failed to convince her... but at the end of the conversation you should get an 'agent acquired' notice. I'd save the game just before going into her hut, just to be safe.

I noticed that unless you want companion approval (Cole never counts, since he's always there even when he's not lol), if you get all the perks related to History, the Chantry, the Underworld, the Fade and Nobility you can recruit without aid from anyone, or be of a certain class.

Agreed, I'm enjoying Shadow Strike with my DW in my current game. Things are dying very quickly B)

This

As a Mage, I usually go with Knight Enchanter, because I can easily switch from defence to melee during combat. But I like to change things up and try other classes/specializations.
