Yep, me too. I'm only on my fourth PT, but I've played something different each time: Knight-Enchanter, Tempest archer, 2H Templar, and now DW rogue/eventual Assassin. Next game will be a rift mage, and after that I'm thinking SnS Champion. As a Mage, I usually go with Knight Enchanter, because I can easily switch from defence to melee during combat. But I like to change things up and try other classes/specializations.
What Did You Do Today (in the DA 'verse) ? .... oops ;)

I played a 2H Champion and it was too much fun! Lol I love Assassin Archer best though because I can do both archery and knife throwing attacks.

Let's see....I've done:
DW Assassin (elf)
KE (human)
S/S Champion (dwarf)
KE (elf)
Archer Tempest (qunari)
2H Templar (human)
I'm not sure what I will do next. Rift mage maybe. I also want to do DW again since my first PT was in slo-mo due to low graphics capability. When I upgraded my video card mid-way through that game, I basically had to relearn how to play at normal speed.

I've played all classes on nightmare except sword and shield. I found Knight Enchanter the easiest when playing nightmare

Agreed, I'm enjoying Shadow Strike with my DW in my current game. Things are dying very quickly
That's still too slow. Hahaha
When I did my dual dagger playthrough, I added fade-touched Plushed Fustian Velvet on both daggers. It gives me 10% chance to use hidden blades on hit, with 5 added hits. My kills are beyond quickly. Hahaha. They're at ftl speed. Or maybe ludicrous speed. Hahaha

I'm still out of likes. I haven't gotten far enough into the game yet to find any plush faustian velvet, or any really good high DPS dagger schematics, but when I do get some, I'm definitely going for the extra hits. I put the plush velvet on my 2h warrior's sword and it's deadly.

Haha.. I used that too for my DW with mighty offence tonic. She went on a killing spree on everything. Corypheus and his red lyrium dragon never stood a chance during the final battle. Jaws of Hakkon are her next victims. ![]()

I noticed that unless you want companion approval (Cole never counts, since he's always there even when he's not lol), if you get all the perks related to History, the Chantry, the Underworld, the Fade and Nobility you can recruit without aid from anyone, or be of a certain class.
This is why I wish there was a "First RP Playthrough For Dummies" guide in every game. I usually focus on story for the first PT, but I had no idea my noble lady Trevelyan should pick up a Nobility perk. I mean, I figured she already knew all that stuff, right? Why waste a perk point? Grrrr.
I did have her pick up the Underworld perk pretty early though. She was always a bit on the sketchy side, hanging out with all those knife ears, tripping out on Deep Mushrooms and really bad Antivan red. I was kind of disappointed in the dialogue options, though. Nothing really shady happened or got talked about.

I use Nobility when siding with the Templars, and History for the Mages. Both have added conversations. I try and get Deft Hands/Tools and the 12 healing potions as earlier as possible and I get the Fade perk so I can break the binding pillars for Solas' friend with them at half health, and for Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, I make sure I have both Nobility and Underworld so I can dance with the Dowager and recruit Gaspard's mercenary.

I think we should get one of those perks for free, depending on which background we choose. Why doesn't a mage already have "magic knowledge"? Or, like you say, why doesn't a noble already have "nobility knowledge"? A rogue (or maybe even just Carta dwarf) should get the underworld perk and, if you aren't any of those, then you get the history perk instead. If more than one applies, then you have to choose which one you want.

I divvied those fade-touched hidden blades things among a few weapons. "Nimble" which is my dex-based dagger has that hidden blades thing, with the superb corrupting rune applied, and "Quick" which is the cunning-based weapon has a superb lightning rune and fade-touched silverite so my rogue can shrug off more damage with guard. I gave the other hidden blades crafting material to Sera's bow "Sera's Many Stingers".
It was fun attacking an enemy with all this stuff with Dorian in my team, and since I maxed out his storm skills everything was dying in a flurry of lightning and blades flying everywhere and suddenly thousand cuts made the scene. I'm not all that big on Dorian's necromancer spec, but I find that with my assassin, Sera's Tempest abilities and Cassandra's Templar powers it makes for a really potent mix. Keen would cry from how beautiful it was.

Since we're talking about it...
I've done Knight-Enchanter three times (once on hard, twice on NM but one of them was a quick run just to romance Cass), Templar (NM), Archer Assassin (NM, but I never actually finished because I switched to PS4 and didn't feel like restarting that character), and DW Tempest (again on NM). DW Tempest was absolutely my favourite. Between Flask of Lightning and DW, Flask of Ice with a shattering combo attack, and Flask of Fire with Throwing Knives, FT Silverite and FT Hidden Blades...
I was a bit sad when I finished everything, I just really loved both the character and the gameplay.
And now I'm thinking of abandoning poor Aud Cadash for a while to try Rift Mage or Necromancer...

My PTs have gone-
1st: DW assassin
2nd: KE storm mage
3rd: SnS champion
4th: artificer archer
5th: SnS reaver (hard)
6th: spirit rift mage (nightmare)
7th: 2H champion
I plan to do one as a DW tempest dwarf (hard) too at some point. I've never considered the templar or necromancer specializations. I've only found Rally and the Last Stand passive to be useful from Cassandra. And I lurvs me some Dorian so I'm fine with him being the only necromancer in the crew ![]()

Mine:
1st: Human Fem Rift Mage, Normal
2nd: Elf Male DW Tempest Rogue, Hard
3rd: Elf Fem KE, Nightmare (first Dragon Hunter run)
4th: Human Fem KE, Nightmare (second Dragon Hunter run) - current
Next will be an SnS or 2H Champion, can't make up my mind. Probably 2H, since I controlled Blackwall quite a bit in the first two runs. On Nightmare, with no crafting other than potions/tonics/grenades. Just for the challenge.
I've got to fit my first run at JoH DLC in someplace, either in the 2H run or going back to my 1st run.

Completed WEWH. Used statues to open the door in the garden since I brought Varric and that is where he hangs out. I'd never bothered with it before so I thought it would just be one room but there's a lot more down the stairs. The nobles questioning Varric about his books are typical fanboys, pointing out inconsistencies, etc.
Decided to skip using statues on the vault and Celene's room so I would have enough for at least one of the two rooms you find after closing the rift. Why they couldn't make the stupid statues re-usable or have enough hidden to open everything is beyond me. It's just an exercise in frustration to make sure you don't use too many too soon. Gaspard was executed, Florianne publicly humiliated, and Briala...well, who cares about Briala? Maybe I'd like her more if I hadn't read TME but she portrays herself in the game as a victim when she really isn't. Yes, Celene had her arrested, but she conveniently forgets to mention that the war has been dragging on for 2 years (or whatever) because of her betrayal of Celene.
Now, I did have a bit of a light bulb go off at the end of it. Celene, it seemed to me, was kind of giving Marcus quite an appraising look
and he is, technically, single. Dorian would sh*t a brick, of course, but it could be glorious (said in Cailan's voice).

Poor Aud Cadash. She dealt with all those bears, and still gets left behind in favour of Joanna Trevelyan, the Inky I, uh, "accidentally" created a couple days ago.
So far, she's laid back and sarcastic. I'm leaning more towards Rift Mage at the moment, but we'll see how things go. I'd like to try Necromancer at some point, too. So far I've rather quickly run through the Hinterlands for Mother Giselle and enough power to get to Val Royeaux, and recruited Sera and Blackwall. I'll need 15 power, so she's dragging the beard, the dwarf and Red Jenny to meet with the Grand Enchanter in the meantime (at least one of my current 'quizzies will meet with her
). I'm probably going to be switching back and forth between her and Aud, so this likely won't be a super in-depth PT.
Speaking of Aud, she's getting along swimmingly with Mr. Warden. She finds him "strangely charming"
They'll be off to recruit some templars and seal the Breach soon. Probably. Maybe. Hopefully?
