Well, I was gonna ask for some opinions on whether I should do the Emerald graves or the Exalted Plains next, but I think now I'll put off the giants and the brontos for awhile, so...thanks

But yeah. It seemed to me that the Emerald Graves was meant to be among the last maps to be explored, what with the potential of getting mobbed by giants in every turn in that one area.

Fought a giant or two in the Western Approach, and (accidentally) a couple of those bronto things. Was really surprised to see a giant in the Forbidden Oasis after I'd collected a few more shards and went back to the Temple of Pride to unlock another door. Had enough of giants for now.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I wanted to blame it on a million things, from patch 2, to being grief-stricken over my little elf mage's old age, to the weather, to those three bears that I remember very well...but in the end, it's all down to operator error. 

 

I know your elf's old age was tragic/sad but secretly I found it funny . It was like a reverse immortality spell. Since your elf is a mage, you could craft a staff and rename it 'a walking stick' (that was so bad, I'm terrible ).

 

On topic, I am still in the Hissing Wastes looking for key fragments. I went to the Oasis area (I think that is what it was called) and there was a green wyvern. I killed it and got a lot of influence (about 300) so I don't know if it was special or not. Maybe it was part of a quest. Then I closed a few rifts.

LOL. The walking stick. Not bad at all   ... the real tragedy was in how far I'd come in the game and whether I'd have to start over. I mean, I am going to play the game at least a few times but I want to finish it before I start over again.

Just lost 2 hours of gameplay due to a bug in In Hushed Whispers that left my (vital) red lyrium shard in the top of an archway of a door. Brilliant. It's almost as though doing this playthrough on a higher difficulty setting wasnt hard enough for me already. I think I'm going to need cake.

No autosave for 2 hours? I can't live without quick-saving every 5 seconds for some reason. Sorry though.

Only autosave accessible was after the point when the bug must have occurred (like an idiot I continued collecting the rest of the shards, assuming that I was wrong about finding one in the main hall area last time) and my only option was a milestone from before accepting the mission at all.

Good thing the milestone was there otherwise I'd have needed to start a whole new playthrough, I've got a bit lax with manual saves.

Oh- did I mention I was having a bad day? Defeated Alexius, game closes down in the middle of the cutscene back at the castle. Reload to find- yup, need to beat him again! Delightful. If I was allowed I'd be getting myself a very strong drink at this point. Either way I certainly won't be doing the lottery this week

My little elf mage and her merry band of travelers have been wandering the Exalted Plains. What a demon-filled maze this place is! So many switchbacks and climbing (and falling) just to get anywhere. It's bleak and desolate in places, and beautifully green in others. I've been swapping out the members of the band as quest needs arrive. I started with Sera, Vivienne and Cassandra until we found the last of the books Vivienne wanted, then I sent her back to Skyhold to read for awhile. In future playthroughs, when I'm not playing a mage, I'll be taking her along on more quests; she's definitely a deadly knight-enchanter. Now that I've found all her books, she calls me darling all the time, and yet still won't even consider a simple afternoon's dalliance in my chambers. Sigh... Hmm, hope Sera doesn't have any Red Jenny friends spying on me in my own castle. 

 

Cassandra, Dorian, and Varric accompanied me back out to the Plains this time. I really thought Dorian might say something about Varric's chest hair, but maybe he's too discerning for that, heh. Oh well. We killed a Venatori in the midst of finding several shards and closing the occasional fade rift, and that made Dorian happy. When i talked to him back at the castle, he told me not to die, because he would definitely notice if I was gone. Charmer. 

 

Left Varric back at Skyhold this time, too. I dunno why, but I thought for sure there was some red lyrium for us to destroy out here, but apparently not. So... Cassandra and Sera and I brought Solas out with us. He's been spending so much time cooped up in his room, and he looked like he could use some fresh air. As we were out wandering, collecting the last letters from some soldiers who aren't gonna make it home   Solas started talking with Sera about her Red Jenny organization, offering her the benefits of his wisdom, so to speak. I wasn't looking directly at them, but from the tone of her voice, I imagined lots of exasperated sighs and eye-rolling on her part. 

 

I can tell it's gonna be a real hoot walking around with these two, heh.

 

Right. Back to the Plains. Solas wants me to find one of his spirit friends, and we have a knight to dispatch for Cassandra, then I think I'll give her a day off, too. Maybe bring Blackwall out for a spell. He's been spending too much time out in the stables with the barmaids.

 Gawd, Here Lies the Abyss is exponentially more fun with custom Hawke, even if the transition between games was rough on his/her face.

By the way, here's what happens if you make Knight-Commander Whatshisname 2nd-In-Command to Lord-Seeker Lucius join the Inquisition (in Judgment post-Templar recruitment mission)...

You get an operation on the war-table where he tips you off to some Red Templars. I tasked Leliana with it. In the end, the tip was true, but there were more of them than he let on and you lose many soldiers. Oh, and he disappears afterwards.

 

Heh, locking him away on my first run was a good call. Normally I am open to making my enemies work for me, but I had a bad feeling about this guy.

I'm having SO much fun with Big Tex. He's slightly cocky, fake humble, VERY into this Herald of Andraste business, and I've gotten the most approval from Cass ever with him, so thinking he will be the man of her dreams~~~ 

 

Also, this is the PT I'm using to try to get the Hard achievement.

 

Also, still leveling my Cadash so I can get that Keeper Robe schematic for Solas.
