Been away from the game for a while, but now I'm back into it. My female human inquisitor, Lucetta, is busy settling into Skyhold, exploring the Western Approach, and the Exalted Plains. It's been a busy time working on her inner circle's personal quests. This was the first time that when I talked to Cassandra about Swords and Shields that Cole walked by and said he doesn't like the knight commander either. That was fun. And it never happened on my last two play-throughs. I'm guessing because I didn't talk enough with Cole before having this conversation with Cassandra in the past?
She's also just begun a new budding romance with Cullen. Sweet kisses on the battlements.
Still currently finishing the Exalted Plains. Was going to go after the soldiers' letters, but I got bored trying to find them all. The search area is just too big for each little letter. I was running in circles on the first one and decided that my Inquisitor had more pressing things to do... like reclaiming the Riverside Garrison.
And here she is:

For the first time ever, I crafted a level 25 item.
I bought the superior battlemage coat. I used dragon webbing for armor, dragon webbing for fire resistance, dales cotton for raising my magic, lurker scales for ranged defense and fade touched silverite. That's my level 25 armor. Looks good.

Guess what I just started? Dragon Age Inquisition.
It is so awesome being back and able to enjoy the world again. A bit too awesome.
Though it was my fault for looking around for that darn requisitions instead f checking the clock. ANyways started the game and sort of restarted the game.
I was just having issues at first with the PSN thingy ma bobber. But no worries. I prevailed.
Also it was so fun being a Rogue again. I missed it so much.
sneaking around the battlefield, picking targets then...wa bam! Mind you probably going to go into the Subterfuge tree before the Archery...hope there is enough levels for me to do all the skills I want...early enough in the game to make them good.
And, on a last note. The game is positively gorgeous on the PS4. Yes I have watched comparison videos. Yes I have played the game on PS3, and seen Lets Plays on PS4. But nothing could prepare me for just how good this game looks on the next gen systems. So worth it.

Team Purple is heading out to an unsuspecting world of Thedas.
Spoiler
Wow.. Solas looks good in pink. He's fashionable instead of being an apostate hobo. Maybe Dorian and Vivienne's influences finally rubbed off on him. But yes, he has to match with everyone's purpleness.

That happened with my lady assassin Inquisitor in my last PT. I wanted her to romance Blackwall from start to finish, but when I saw her with Cullen, they made the perfect pair.
That happened in my first PT.
I was all set to romance Blackwall. Even made it as far as the balcony scene with him and it was like yeah no. Cullen happened to her and next thing I know she's on top of his desk ![]()

I haven't metagamed how to influence the Divine choice yet but I'm interested to see how my 6 playthroughs turn out.
So far I only have a hardened Leliana as Divine under my belt.
I'm really hoping Liam isn't left heartbroken with Cass as Divine but I've an inkling it's headed that way. Plus if she expresses a desire to want the role, he'd move the earth to make it happen for her.
Is it too late to go back and romance Dorian?![]()

One thing I've noticed during my playthroughs, is that when an enemy is in range, my companions will not attack them until I attack them first or one of the enemies hit me.
Jaclyn Trevelyan
Things are moving along. Making good progress. Making sure to collect all mosaic pieces and shards. The Western Approach is similiar to the Hissing Wastes. Lots of sand. We attack the keep and claim it for the Inquisition. It was a brutal fight, that is, it was for the bad guys, which we kicked their backsides very easily. I like to say thanks to Dorian, Cassandra and Sera for helping me.
We are currently helping a guy hunt a dragon. Right now I will head back to Skyhold for dinner. After dinner, I might have a few drinks with everyone and then turn in for a goodnights sleep. Leliana is pestering me about recruiting some Warden. Yeah. Yeah. I'll get to it when I have the time.

Hey I noticed that in my playthrough too, pissed me right off. Since I wanted to go into stealth and have my party take the aggro and damage 'looking at you Cass Cass' but that did not happen...so I took the aggro since I am already using Long Shot effectively.

Inquisitor: Let's face Hakkon Wintersbreath.
Dorian: Uhm, shouldn't we first change our weapons? You and me, we use both ice staves.
Inquisitor: Nah, why? We're good to go.
Cassandra: I don't like to agree with Dorian, but he's right. You both won't du much damage with your current weapons.
Dorian: See? Even Cassandra agrees with me and that never happens!
Inquisitor: *sighs* Alright. *goes to the Crypta*
Dorian: YES! Let's craft some new dragon slaying armor!
Inquisitor: *changes the colors of the Vestments of the Dragon Hunter* So, now my armor matches the color of the Vitaar of the Dragon Hunter.
Dorian: I'm too pretty to die!
Cole: Look on the bright side Dorian, at least you'll die trying to kill a dragon who wants to hurt others. Helping is good.
Dorian: Thank you, Cole, Now I feel much better. *sarcasm*
Cole: You're welcome.

Computer seems less problematic which is good. I forgot to take off my DAI pictures off my 3DS but did today. Expalin "man love" pictures to 5 to 10 year old kids if they try to steal my 3DS at work.. Lol. 0.o.
A helpful tip for folks that may not know about that I just found out about.
When fighting the high dragon, The Hiveral, I used dispel when it used its icy wind barrier. It worked and I wasn't frozen and neither were my companions. Dispel will not work on its cold breath
Dispel will not work on the other high dragon, The Kaltenzahn, since it only uses its cold breath
If folks didn't know, the above dragons are found in Emprise du Lion.
I....try to use DISPEL on the dragons when they get the armor on and I am 100% unsure if this works. I swear it does but I may be tripping. i know POISON WEAPONS in the rouge pool helps big time on the high dragons because none of the high dragons are immune to it and it even depletes armor/health points when they are flying so it helps. I had it when I played as Sera....I mean Draven.
With enough power to finally hit the Tevinter guys where they live (so to speak), Jo Trev volunteered as
tributebait for the Venatori. Leliana's people are sneaking in a back door that hopefully actually exists (shame there wasn't one of those in the Ostwick Circle. Place got boring, some adventure now and then could've been nice. Though, perhaps not this much adventure...) and they're disarming the trap set for us. Of course, things never go as planned, since when Joanna offered nothing ("I'm just going to take the mages and go, 'kay? :'D"), she and the helpful mustachioed Tevinter with us got thrown into a rift. And...the future?
Well. Alexius has done some redecorating. Jo and Dorian agree that as bad as the Ferelden motif was before, this isn't exactly an improvement. Jo will have to remember not to have him in charge of aesthetic design when we move to Skyhold.
Moving right along as if some weird sci-fi thing hadn't just happened and the world wasn't literally falling apart around us, we find Lyses, the elf from Redcliffe who seems to have lost it a bit (poor kid
), and Fiona. She's turning into Red Lyrium. Apparently it's a disease now. Lovely. She tells us about Leliana, so we set off to find her too. Along the way we stumble upon Sera and Blackwall. Sera's terrified, obviously, and rather than joking, Jo tries to comfort her for a change. It doesn't really work, but she agrees to come along to kill Alexius.
Spoiler
Blackwall's not much better off. Jo's not sure why they bothered to keep the mouthy elf and fake Warden - I mean, if he's experimenting with the Blight, you'd think Alexius would figure that out and...dispose, of him
- but Jo's relieved. Also, good thing they're here; she'd make a terrible tank and Dorian would probably just complain about blood on his outfit if she threw him in front of her as a shield.
Anyway, we're off to see Leliana. She's in even worse condition than the others and yet still manages to snap a guy's neck with her thighs. Jo's impressed, Dorian's flippant, and Leliana's mad. So, the usual. With an apology and a promise to make things right, Jo leads the merry band of misfits out into courtyard.
And the Breach has taken over everything.
Rifts appear left and right and demons keep swooping down upon us. We hurry through, back into the castle. Inside, we find a Shard Door that is a complete mystery to us all
and open it with some Red Lyrium. Because why wouldn't we just pick up random shards of the stuff off people we've killed in hopes that it'll somehow be useful later?
Past the door, we find Alexius. And Felix. Felix is basically a zombie, so Leliana kills him while Jo tries to bargain with Alexius. That goes over about as well as expected, and we end up having to fight him. Fun!
Spoiler
Once he's dealt with, we start working on the spell to get us back to
the futureour own time. We run out of time, however, and Sera, Blackwall and Leliana give their lives to give us a chance, much to Joanna's disapproval - she argued but nooo, why listen to the lady with the glowy hand?
When we jump out of another rift, we're back in the originally terribly decorated, not at all end-of-the-world-ish Redcliffe Castle. Joanna's a bit smug ("oh, is that all?") but that doesn't last long. Queen Anora (minus King Alistair, so I guess he's a wandering drunk? Oops
) demands the mages get the hell out of Ferelden. Jo decides to anger her family and half the Inquisition - and, y'know, Thedas - further by offering them a full alliance.
So with our goal accomplished and our new allies in tow, we return to Haven. Predictably, everyone's arguing. Dorian drops by to say hello and join up, and Jo's happy to let him. At least somebody sees how amusingly bizarre all of this is. The Advisors invite Joanna to join them in the War Room when ready. She sighs, "there goes my nap." We're to deal with the Breach next.
Oh! And there's this, a painting that looks weirdly like Blackwall:
Spoiler
Just me? Does Alexius make a habit of having portraits done of his prisoners? Is that a Tevinter thing?
What i picked up is Alexius is a very vain guy. I am unsure if anyone noticed or posted a picture on this thread but Alexius has a floating giant statue of himself floating out and about in one section (the area with the two fade portals with a open celeing). I never paid attention to the pictures but honestly no surprise there. It seemed he wanted more that to keep his son alive.
Thanks for the advice.
I made it to Skyhold in 4 hours and 34 minutes. I took time to grind for the power I needed and recruited all the companions. Now I'm just cleaning up the Hinterlands quests.
Impressive. I think it takes me more because I like to level hound due to what difficulty I play. That's what eats up my game time. Not to mention I like to subquestmania.
Happy Monday guys and gals. Marian Hawke's mom is dead. How she dies still bothers me personally, after all these years and all these play throughs.
Fenris STILL won't love on me. Jerk. Isabela took the Qunari book and left me. LEFT. ME. I thought we were cool, but I guess we weren't THAT cool. I fear that with the way things are going with Fenris he is going to leave me too. I have no Sebastian since I didn't pay to get his add on content. Bethany is still locked up in the mage prison. Merrill is not my friend, and Anders is getting more unstable. At least I prevented him from killing that mage girl Ser Alrik was messing with. At least I have Aveline and my bestie Varric. But two rogues do not a party make. Although two Rogues did take out the Arishok after Aveline and Anders were rendered unconscious.
Hawke clearly has abandonment issues. LOL.
How ubber friendly were you with Isabella? I usually am ubber friendly with her. i think only once I sold her out by handing her over to the arishock but i do not remember who i did that with. I didn't play DA 2 that often and I think I finished it under 10 times while DAO/DAA was a wee bit more. Besides Fenris can be rather meh even in the romance department. I still couldn't believe my Kelbaton playthrough with the man love triangle I had with Kelbaton, fenris and Anders:
Intense....and steamy...depending on how look at it. Lol. I don't really do homosexual story lines but I must say Kelbaton wasn't half bad and probably one of my best DA 2 playthroughs because of situations like that and the political and religious discussions Kelbaton, Fenris, Sebastian, and Anders all have.
It's Victoria Day for me, so it's a holiday! Lol
Wow... leave your Hawke in the Fade. It'll be kindest to all.
But.. I love Hawke! She keeps on keeping on, despite personal tragedy. I will admit that the events of this PT are not close to what I consider personally satisfying and or/canon. It's been years though, so this is as close to not meta-gaming as I can get with a game I've played as many times as this.
Really I think everyone just needs to leave Hawke alone so she can hang out with Bethany and her Mabari in her hightown house once the mages rebel.
Lol it's always so hard to make that choice. I see it at a logical POV. If I want to keep the Wardens, Hawke dies so they can rebuild with Stroud/Alistair/Loghain leading them. If I kick them out of Orlais, I kill the Warden too. Hawke lives.
Well i intend to keep Kelbaton in the fade for my Malaioniss playthrough. I think I would be doing the DA worl a favor since he supported Anders's act of terrorism and kept Anders alive. However Fenris will be madder than **** when he hears about that though. Lol. 0.o.

Switching between Aud Cadash and Jo Trevelyan was a terrible idea. I spent nearly an hour wandering and trying to figure out why I couldn't do a certain quest in the Hinterlands that I was sure I hadn't done yet...only to realise, Aud has finished with the Hinterlands and I am a doofus
If it's this confusing just at the start, maybe I should hold off of Aud's PT entirely. My dialogue choices are likely to be such a mess otherwise...
Speaking of, Jo's just finished talking to everyone before sealing the Breach. She and Viv get along surprisingly well, which is...nice? I guess? Doesn't really bode well for end-game, but I don't really care how things end up with regards to the Divine this time around ![]()

This concludes today's elfy-art history lesson.![]()
Great pics!
You inspired Kubrie to make a contribution to the art-history appreciation thing. As you'll see, she's very enthused. Also, I don't think these are elven. In fact, I'm not quite sure what they are. ![]()
Uhh, anyway, the gang has moved from the arid heat of the Forbidden Oasis to the damp, rainy Crestwood area of Fereldan, and has been thoroughly enjoying getting soaked, battling demons, bandits, wolves, red templars, more bandits, undead, one Druffalo, awoken from his grass-munching daze by some not-so-friendly fire. Oops. It was Dorian's fault.
And there you have it. The gang will now continue on towards their date with a pair of heroes wyvern.
EDIT: Update ... turns out the wyvern cave had some actual elfy-art at the end of it. Yay! I say that because the third pic I'm posting shows people with long pointy ears riding animals. I'm assuming elves.

SO yeah...what didn't I do. Started exploring the Hinterlands finally. Mostly focused on founding new camps and helping out Dennet and his farmers. went back and forth to Haven a bunch of times. But yeah. Formed Watchtowers, escorted Druffy home (groan), dealt with wolves and looters, started a few war table operations. Picked up the armored mount. Got Dennet. Almost forgot about Solas. But now he is fine. Got my first approval with Cassandra. Got my Dragon Bow. And the Dragon armor...the latter I do not quite like yet.
And last but certainly not least, actually first but for this argument's purposes really last. Visited the Black Emporium and adjusted Kara's appearance.

I've left Hawke in the fade twice in 8 PTs. Each time I felt like an ass for doing it. Loghain is always dead - I never liked him and always killed him off, and Alistair is king. So that leaves me with Stroud and I have zero connection with him. And the look on poor Varric's face after I did it almost made me reload the game. Usually when I play, I try not to decide on keeping/banishing the wardens until the decision is upon me.
