Great pics! You inspired Kubrie to make a contribution to the art-history appreciation thing. As you'll see, she's very enthused. Also, I don't think these are elven. In fact, I'm not quite sure what they are.
EDIT: Update ... turns out the wyvern cave had some actual elfy-art at the end of it. Yay! I say that because the third pic I'm posting shows people with long pointy ears riding animals. I'm assuming elves.

Thanks! It's been kinda fun looking at the art as something more than just scenery.
That second pic kinda looks a bit like Kubrie.... ![]()
Is it like almost impossible to reach level 30? I can hardly get past 24.
The character max level after JoH is 27 (hit it with Jaega). Inquisition max level is 20. Hopefully they will raise both when the next DLC hits.
I've left Hawke in the fade twice in 8 PTs. Each time I felt like an ass for doing it. Loghain is always dead - I never liked him and always killed him off, and Alistair is king. So that leaves me with Stroud and I have zero connection with him. And the look on poor Varric's face after I did it almost made me reload the game. Usually when I play, I try not to decide on keeping/banishing the wardens until the decision is upon me.
I left Hawke behind twice: my first PT (Hawke romanced Anders, Stroud was the Warden) and my NM game, where I created a fake Hawke I'd never played (he romanced no one since he had a thing for Aveline
) and Alistair was the Warden. All my other Hawkes made it back out. I actually like Fenris more than Hawke, so if he's romanced, Hawke is guaranteed to survive. ![]()
Well, this truly ruined my day.
After a Two. ******. Hour. Long. fight against Kaltenzahn, my team got killed when I was finally close to finishing it.
Look, I had everything. Powerful skills, great equipment for everyone and constant use of the tactical camera to move them out of ice blasts and such.
I also made sure to focus on the dragonlings whenever they spawned.
My team was Dorian (mastered fire spells), Cassandra and Bull.
(Shudder) That's the Fereldan Frostback for me like a dozen times. And always when I'm capping video. If I don't cap video, I waltz through the battle without a scratch.
DAIMP on X1...trying to pace myself on The Witcher 3 (especially since I spent 8 hours playing it yesterday
)
Is it by developer choice to have Sera be categorized as a human and not an elf? She can't wear elf stuff.
What the ... ? I thought that was just a glitch. You think it might have been intentional??

Yep. When they specify "elf-trained" they really mean Dalish-trained.
Why another person couldn't put on the Keeper Robes (or what have you) really makes no sense though. Unless they just don't fit??? Elves are kinda skinny.....

How is the FemElf Inquisitor compared to the FemHuman Inquisitor? Is she skinnier or are they the same?

elf is skinnier, by a lot... like, waifish.

Yep, I agree, and admittedly I haven't taken a lot of time to appreciate the art much when I come across it on a rock wall like that, but I do enjoy it.... as for that similarity with Kubrie? that's just the lighting, and she was in a foul mood taking those pictures while soaked in the rain, and... yeah ![]()

I just watched a bear take out Cassandra's target in the Hinterlands for her personal mission AGAIN! Now I want to make this happen for as many of her targets for Unfinished Business as possible.
Hopefully I can get the wyvern and phoenix to go along with my plan in the Exalted Plains and Western Approach... ![]()

Then I guess I should stick with a Female Human. "Too skinny" - Match maker from Mulan.
But... but... elf armorThen I guess I should stick with a Female Human. "Too skinny" - Match maker from Mulan.
Whenever I saw a bear fighting that guy in the Hinterlands I always ran and got right in the middle of the battle, actually teaming up with the bad guys to fight the bear first. My concern was I wouldn't get proper credit for the quest, heh. It has nothing to do with a vendetta against bears in this game.I just watched a bear take out Cassandra's target in the Hinterlands for her personal mission AGAIN! But you lose the big bum like the female human inquisitors have. ![]()
But you lose the big bum like the female human inquisitors have.
But... I... nope, I can't dispute that.
Kubrie and the three men in her life are just about to enter the Flooded Caves in Crestwood, having accomplished everything else there is to do in Crestwood except fighting the dragon, when I heard this exchange, brief but perfect.
Dorian: You know, Varric, I went to Kirkwall once.
Varric *interested*: Yeah?
Dorian: Bit of a sh** hole.
Varric *sighing*: Yeah.
I'm one of the few who actually loves DA2 but in terms of imagining being a Kirkwallian... er, Kirkwaller? Kirkwallie? From Kirkwall *ahem*... it really kinda was a sh** hole, now that I think about it.
Crestwood.
Sight of a huge rift in a lake, causing all kinds of undead and demons to harass a tiny village of rain-soaked villagers. Now that they were leaving the place to return to Skyhold, Kubrie thought back to the night they arrived. After receiving Harding's report, she turned to Varric, the question of, "Why did your warden friend and the Champion of Kirkwall want to meet here?" on her lips.
She recalled snapping her jaw shut at the sight of him, cursing the rain. Thinking there was no worse sight in Thedas than a wet dwarf, she almost laughed. Almost. He probably would have liked that even less than he liked being there in the first place. Even Dorian didn't seem quite as annoyed.
Now, they were done here. The villagers were saved and grateful for it. The rift was closed, never ceasing to amaze Kubrie a little bit at how good it felt to close those things. Maybe there was an addictive component to this anchor-thing? Maybe it's just that closing the rifts was the right thing to do.
They also met with Hawke and Alistair, who was a companion of the Hero of Fereldan, and played a part in ending the blight. He seemed a bitter fellow and it didn't surprise Kubrie in the slightest that he didn't seem to have many friends among the wardens. He had an interesting story to tell though, and she agreed to meet with him later in the Western Approach.
So, all of that accomplished, there is only thing left to tell you about before we close the Crestwood chapter of Kubrie journey. It seems that releasing the floodgates on the Crestwood dam had ... unforeseen consequences. They awoke...
The Northern Hunter.

The schematic for that greatsword can be obtained by doing the Tomb of Fairel quest in the Hissing Wastes. Its in one of the tombs. A very good sword
In Your Heart Shall Burn...
After completing everything in Haven, Joanna Tevelyan and co. went off to close the Breach.
Naturally, our celebration was cut short when someone decided to attack us.
But we met a new...friend? He has a fantastic hat.
Taking inspiration from Mulan, we set a trebuchet on the baddies.
But, uh, they had a dragon...
And here we have everyone back in the Chantry (saved everyone again
), with Cole's fantastic hat clipping everywhere and more people blinking...
After a surprisingly easier than normal fight with Denam, on NM and underleveled so I was expecting it to take an hour or more and I somehow managed in one shot, we finally met the one responsible for this whole mess:
Jo's guessing he's not exactly going to talk it over and explain everything...
So with the flare finally going up, we drop a mountain on the guy. Jo managed to conveniently trip down a mineshaft and wakes up alone in the cold. But hey, new ability! When she finally stumbles upon the rest of her group (read: Cassandra and Cullen found her and Cassandra hauled her back down the mountain to camp), they had a sing-along and Solas dropped the bomb that the orb was elven. Great. Well, it's freezing and we're lost, so who cares?
He does. He gives us a castle for it. Well, tells Jo where to find one and she leads everyone there.
When we finally get there, "Skyhold," they name Jo the Inquisitor. Weird, but she'll go with it. Since I think we were talking about the dialogue options at this point on this thread, here's what I got:
She chose because it's right and I accidentally got a good screenshot of Cassandra for it ![]()
Then we went inside to argue a bit more.
Rather than the headache they gave Jo back in the wilderness before the random musical number, however, they're now looking to her for answers. Not exactly the position she wanted, but if it gets them to stop fighting, she's all for it. And Varric has a helpful lead. The others are suspicious, but Jo likes the dwarf so she agrees to meet with this friend of his.
Phew. That's it, for now.
Going to talk to everyone and start on the specialization next. Maybe head to Black Emporium, too, check out the schematics and change a few things about Jo's face that I'm not really fond of.
I don't know how I did it but I beat Gurd Harofsen on my 2nd attempt despite screwing up constantly and 3/4 of my party being dead half the time. I just went stealth, deathblowed a bruiser, roll dodged away then stealthed again, revived Cassandra who can take punishment without full health (thanks Cass, you're the best!), then ran away and rinse/repeated with a deathblow to Gurd himself every now and then until he just sort of died while I was busy looking for potions. ![]()
Well clearing out the Hinterlands one...quest...at...a...time. Man I do not think during my first playthough I appreciated how taxing that are was, or jsut plain forgot...or maybe I am just tired and not feeling well and need a drink, which is all true. I mean Ben was hopping around all over the place in his first playthrough at this point, and Kara is just slogging through. Don't get me wrong a lot of it has been fun and maybe it is my own mental mindset. But...I have virtually done everything of note in there except for the higher level stuff, the dragon fight, the three level 12 Rifts. Though I can appreciate both sides of the 'get out of the hinterlands' argument a lot more. THough, for role playing reasons I figure I have to go slog through it. Though I do remember even playing Ben I was not satisfied till In Hushed Whispers-In Your Heart Shall Burn.
Speaking of role playing though I do wonder if its going to be too much of a slog trying to collect all the Shards and if the gameplay rewards will be satisfying enough to try and get them all....I am saying though a lot. ![]()
Anyways met the Iron Bull, and recruited him. Kara is a little smitten (wait till she meets Dorian lol).
And she had the fascinating 'the spirits are people' argument with Solas. Now I know it annoys a lot of people and...well I am in that group in all honesty. From a meta out of universe perspective...not sure the direction BioWare wants to take that but I do enjoy the philosophical arguments more from Solas and he argues his point really well. I went with the 'SPirits lack free will argument' because that is all what Kara is into...Free Will...and Solas made a rather mind blowing point, and I chuckled with the Inquisitor's response 'you have thought about this haven't you?'
Last but not least played chicken with the Ferelden Frostback, went into stealth to get at the Red lyrium shard near her layer. Dodging her young and fire balls. It was as fun as doing it with Ben.
THings should be picking up soon as I decided to quit it on the way to meet with the rebels...

I just finished collecting all the shards. I have to open the last spirit door and then the main door to collect all the goodies. Collecting the shards aren't bad. My only complaint about them is when looking through the skull for the shards, I have to go back to an area I already was at a moment ago to get that shard

Just dreading that one in the hinterlands.
Yesterday I posted that I received no experience points for killing a high dragon, but a short time ago I defeated The Gamordan Stormrider, a level 13 dragon, with my level 22 Inquisitor and got the experience points for slaying it. Go figure I guess.
