Pics from Marcus' second...er, fourth?...trip through the Fade. You'd think he wouldn't be surprised to learn the truth this time around, but alas....that time magic is tricky.

First up, the new armor. I don't really like this style but it still looks pretty good on him.

Spoiler

"Break it down!"

Things start to get dicey

And then everything goes to hel....the Fade....in a handbasket

"Upside down, boy you turn me...."

He's baaaack. B) And wearing some scary-looking gauntlets.

Next up is to run around and talk to everyone about this latest adventure. Then finally head to the Oasis to pick some blasted witherstalk! :pinched:

Just finished in the western approach.  and about to start the next map and I'm wondering, (and no i don't think it is) but is it possible to have the warden commander survive at the end of the fight or does she have to die in order for you to get thrown into the fade "by accident"

I finished the dlc last night. Not bad

The Gurd Harofsen boss fight was very tough. I died a few times before I decided to change powers for myself. I equipped mark of the rift. When the boss's health was low, I used the mark of the rift killing the guy and its minions.

If ever there was a time to be able to use more than the 8 powers, that was it. I like to see this change for the next game.

The dragon wasn't too hard. The dragonlings it called were funny looking. What's nice is receiving a 20% cooldown amulet. Very helpful for a mage. I took it for myself and gave Dorian the 15% cooldown amulet I was wearing

With the dlc completed, I went from part of level 23 to nearly reaching level 27. I still have a few missions left of the main story to do.

If I decide to play the dlc again, I would probably play it after reaching skyhold. Only the main story part to get the goodies from the old temple and the dragon

I haven't.  I only have 33. Most likely it will never be used. If I was to do the dlc earlier in the game, I would probably use the material and gather more

If you saved the green goo from the closed rifts you can farm them. They give you so much crap and they give you unique weapons that you can sell. Very easy money. I have been buying some schematics from the Emporium. Green goo stuff usually gives a small amount of Veil Quartz but they always leave Pure Essence for Ice and Lightning along with some Fade Touched materials.

EDIT: The Essence thing is random, but they always leave Pure Essence. I was glad that the DLC had Revenant Hearts for sale.

Got my Stargazer trophy. Now for the last one. I've found all the shards in The Hinterlands, Exhaulted Plains, Emerald Graves, Crestwood, and The Storm Coast so far.

I do agree that the rifts have some nice goodies. Like to see that in the next dlc.

Anyways. When I started the dlc, I had all the weapons and armor I needed for myself and companions that the added schematics and materials didn't make enough of a difference for me to use them. That's why I mentioned I would most likely do this dlc or at least the main story part after arriving at skyhold for the first time.

The DLC does state 20 as the minimum level. They aren't stopping you from going there, but I reckon that the DLC will not be very easy. Minimum of level 20 might mean that enemies don't scale under level 20.

This may have been stupid of me but i was looking for the last little while anyway. you all (who every played DA 1&2) know that there was the approval/disapproval bar that you could gage how much someone liked you or not. well i can't find it in inquisition am i looking in the wrong place or is there not one? (and yes thats what I've been doing) :(

At least it will be challenging. Haha.

The giant in the dlc was harder to kill than the dragon. It had lots of nice goodies.

I just killed the dragon in the hissing Wastes. When I looked in the journal, it says I have killed 10 when I still have the one in Crestwood left. It seems the one in the dlc counts, but Bioware forgot to change the number from 10 to 11

I just recruited Blackwall and got all the Grey Warden stuff for him. Now I'm searching for Hawke and her Warden friend

If the Fallow Mire is completed after the dlc, does the skywatcher have different or added dialogue when talking with him?

There isn't an approval gauge this time, but you can guess how much they like/dislike you by how they greet you, when you talk to them. These links will bring you to their approval pages on the DA Wikia (I use them frequently myself  ;) )

Cleared most of the Hissing Wastes (even fought Sandy Howler), did some inventory cleaning, and visited the Frostback Basin.

Yeah, I think Clarel always dies. She got munched on by the dragon, then fell from the bridge when it exploded; she's probably not gonna survive all that. But, you never know with Bioware!

Marcus update: he hasn't gotten much done since coming back from Adamant. Clicky sounds are driving me nuts. It's got to be mechanical, or something catching somewhere, but I can't see what it is. No performance issues....just bloody awful noise. Dang it, I need my Dorian fix! :pinched:

Augh, spoilers, spoilers ... eh, nevermind. Now that it's on console, I think it's going to be too hard to avoid spoilers from JoH. I'll get to it someday.

Took a break from DAI and finally conquered DAO and... wow! I did it in 3 days! Archdemon was easy to beat, but the final battle was epic, especially thanks to my Warden Amell and Loghain (they shared the finishing blow to end the battle, though Amell did the final final blow lol. Just too perfect after they became close friends)! Just beat Awakening (Alistair still holds a grudge about Loghain lol and I saved both the City and the Keep) and now I'm playing DA2 again. I find many things in DAI connecting now. Loving this!

Seeing Haven as it was, and even recognizing the area though it was more built up in DAI was fun! I saw what Josie's office looked like 10 years earlier and the room where the  Brother is, became a bedroom in DAI. Redcliffe too had similarities between games.

Also I think I met Sera... or heard her I should say. Gave a painted wooden box to a Red Jenny home, and heard a child giggle. She did say she was 10 in DAO (and the Red Jenny note had doodles on it like she does in DAI). And Justice not only opened my eyes to DA2 more, but also helped me see Cole differently, Wynne too helped me gain a better perspective on spirits. Cole is definitely unique.

I really recommend playing DAO and DA2 again if you haven't in a long time. It makes DAI even more sweeter, and gives you a different perspective than you might have had last time you played. I know for me it did.

Played Jaws of Hakkon and cleared most of the quests in the Frostback Basin. The fights so far aren't bad, but they gradually get a bit challenging as I progress through the story. I ended off where my Knight Enchanter lady Inquisitor, Cassandra, Varric and Dorian are about to face off against the boss.

Just for fun, I equipped my lady Inquisitor's bestie, Cassandra, with a cheese wheel and ham. It was badass seeing her fight enemies with food.  :D

Did some minor quests in the Hinterlands (killing the Templars & Mages) and decided against siding with the Templars. I thought about it and as much as I'd like too, it wouldn't suit my chara. He would never side with the Templars. (I think I'm doing that, when I do my Cullen!romance PT  :D )
