So real life's decided it's more important than gaming again. *dramatic sigh* Jo Trev went to meet Varric's friend, I spent way longer than necessary in Hawke's CC, then...had to scrap it all so I could deal with real life  Isabela (...or Merrill? I don't know which Hawke this is  ) is going to be so upset that the big dumb Champion is off dealing with earth-shattering matters on her own again.

@Melbella - Glad to hear you've found a (temporary?) fix. Being your own tech support is a bummer, but I bought a new computer last time and not only was it weaker, it's kind of a pain to spend hours on the phone, only for tech support to tell you to send it in or take it in wherever you bought it from to see what they can do about it. It's like a constant loop of "go ask your mother" but then nobody actually knows what the problem is or how to fix it :P  If you've got the know-how, I think you and Spork have the right idea.

Sorry to hear that. RL can be its own bummer sometimes. That's why we play games, right? :)

I hear you on tech support. I haven't had many good experiences with them either, but even if you build the pc yourself you still need tech support on the components. It's kind of a lose-lose. I got in about an hour with no funny noises, so I think I'm good for the moment. I'd still like to be able to get the fan out and clean it though. It could probably use it.

I put Mesh Quality on High, but still no scars. What's the other graphic option that needs to be at a higher setting for me to be able to see scars? Seriously, all of this just for scars. :'(

Is it the new one they added? Shader, or something like that? I think it's the last one in the list.

Just finished doing the fade quest. Stroud wanted to stay behind and get more demon autographs

I am over level 27. With what I have left, I doubt I will get close to level 28. I did make a save before starting the adamant quest. I will use the save and character when the next dlc comes out

So now I go and see Celene.

So, I started a second run of the DLC featuring my DW Assassin lady Inquisitor, Natalia Trevelyan (she's the lady in my avatar pic). Best friend Cassandra aka. Divine Victoria, Grand Enchanter Vivienne and Dorian accompany my heroine into the Frostback Basin.

Haha.. I'm having way too much fun this time. Every enemy encounter gets a dose of shock and awe lightning/fire show; followed by a whirlwind of hidden blades and dance of dual bladed death; and getting finished off by the heavenly ham/cheese combo. B)

Natalia clears most of the quests in record breaking time, but still manages to stay jolly and crack jokes. However, Dorian warns her not to fall from tall trees. He doesn't want to suffer the wrath of her boyfriend, Commander Cully wully, if he hears the bad news...

At this rate, I may finish this run tomorrow!

So Inquisitor Levellan got a little bored, perhaps bloodthirsty and decided to take care of the rest of the dragons in one fell swoop...

Spoiler

Sorry Greater Mistral, Northern Hunter, Fereldan Frostback, Vinsomer, Hivernal, Kaltenzahn, Highland Ravager and Abyssal High Dragon but it had to be done.  B)

In between bouts of technical difficulties, Marcus had time to chat with a few people...ok, with Dorian. Oh, wait, and with Varric too! :D He also got the amulet for Cole which, as he warned Solas, didn't just work. <_< Between the two of them, plus Varric, they managed to get Cole to a place where he no longer needs to worry about being bound.

Hawke romanced Fenris, so she didn't get left in the Fade.

Spoiler

Dorian's post-Adamant freak-out is so cute.
Spoiler

Cole had a lot to say about Adamant after getting to go this time. After that convo, Marcus gave him the amulet.

Spoiler

Poor Cole. I'm pretty sure all my quizzies have decided to adopt him.

Marcus is now stuck in Valammar trying to figure out how much of Bianca's story is true and how much is bs. He's not going to like what he finds out. :pinched:

DAIMP on X1

Played a few matches with fellow BSN folks then once they got off ended up in some decent PUGs. Received the Virtuoso armor from a dragon fight.

been doing as many side quests and stuff as i can find before doing adamant fortress and I'm almost ready to do it. as i have Alistair and not stroud I've already decided to leave Hawke in the fade.

This PT Dalish Archer.

Origins PT for this game Dalish Archer - Romanced Alistair - made Anora Queen - Alistair stayed with Wardens and his love.

(I could never separate them by leaving Alistair and there by hurting another Dalish elf.)

also this PT i am romancing Cullen, he and Alistair are my all time Favourite romances.

but i am wondering what companions i should take with me. i usually have Cassandra because she's Cassandra and i could never leave her behind (usually).

So my team is almost always Cassandra, Iron Bull and Solas, for this PT but i don't mind swapping out. like having Blackwall instead of Iron Bull. but i can't decide who to take lol. any  pointers :)

They're easier on the graphic card? idk  :D (tho since I set Mesh to Ultra, my game lags whenever I go back to Haven and walk up the stairs  )

Lavellan collected the remaining Inquisition volunteers before heading to the Breach. He wasn't pleased to learn that the leader of the Chargers was a Qunari spy, so he threatened Bull with Cassandra. They cleared up everything they needed to do on the Storm Coast (Dorian was kind enough to provide barriers so Lavellan didn't hurt himself jumping off... everything :P ). I think the Blades of Hessarian quest would've benefitted from a cutscene or two. Just to get a little tension going when you walk into an enemy camp and confront the leader. Anyway, Lavellan's gang took the guy down and then collected all the Warden items. They stopped to rest for the night on a pebble beach (oh yeah, Blackwall, this is a "good place for a camp" indeed :P ). Lavellan's back was protesting for all of the following day.

They recruited Vivienne, who instantly dropped two "Greatly Disapproves" followed by one "Slightly". Jeez. I don't know why I'm recruiting her when I know she'll hate Lavellan, but I just can't resist getting all the companions. ^_^ Then it was Sera, who isn't pleased at seeing another elf. Or two.

Lavellan sealed the Breach (or slapped a bandage on it), but the festivities at Haven were rudely interupted by red templars. The Inquisition fired off some trebuchets, and started a mini-avalanche. I noticed that the cutscene doesn't work quite as well without Varric. He's clearly supposed to be there to clap Inky on the shoulder and then look shocked when the dragon arrives. If he's not there, then Inky reacts to nothing and then there's a random shot of the empty space where Varric should be.

Solas was rather alarmed and distraught about the arrival of the 'archdemon'. The group rushed back to Haven, trying to save all the villagers. It was a little tricky this time, partly because of the templars standing rudely out of range.

Spoiler

And partly because Dorian kept standing in the way when Lavellan tried to revive Adan. Clearly Dorian has some vendetta against the poor guy. :P I find it pretty interesting that the only companions who ever give approval for this are Varric and Vivienne.

Lavellan and friends decided to make a last stand against Coryfish. Well, Lavellan did, he was very keen to give himself up to spare Haven. Blackwall approved, Solas really didn't. They managed to defeat Knight Captain Denam, which really took everyone by surprise. They were barely holding themselves together, but they killed all the templars and got the loot as a fine reward.

Dorian almost got squashed because he was so distracted by the dragon, but thankfully all three of them got away. Lavellan wasn't so lucky, but he did get to have a one-liner at the baddie before making a narrow escape from death. That's as much as any hero could hope for, right?

Half-battered, Lavellan made his way into the blizzard, following the sounds of wolves howling. Maybe it's just a trick of Fen Harel, but anything alive in this blizzard has to be a sign of nearby shelter, right? It's either that or sit down and freeze to death. He was on the verge of passing out when his allies arrived to save him. When he awoke, the mood of the camp was grim, but Giselle lightened their spirits with some singing. Lavellan stood awkwardly watching them. He doesn't know the words to this song, and besides, is he supposed to be singing now? Or are they just singing at him? Humans are so odd.  :P

Solas called him away for a heart-to-heart elfy-to-elfy, before telling Lavellan of a new stronghold for the Inquisition. Forget Haven, they should've grabbed Skyhold from the start! Of course, with every good thing, comes a bad one. And this was in the shape of skintight beige. Damn, I thought that looked bad on my other Inkys, but male elves take the prize.  :?

I've finished all companion quests. Blackwall's fate will be determined by the wardens once Corypheus is dead. Left Hawke in the fade this time. The Inquisitor followed Hawke's suggestion that Loghain should rebuild the wardens.

Bruce finished In Hushed Whisper yesterday and then flirted with Dorian and Cassandra.

I still don't know who he should romance, but omg did he giggle when he pointed out to Cassandra that she was blushing.

Nice work with the screenshots. You only have about 5 seconds before the dragon corpse evaporates. That's not a lot of time to get positioned and perfectly framed like that.

That gives me an idea. You ought to get a dragon's head in the loot pile, and in your room in Haven/Skyhold, you can mount the heads. The Dragon Hunter is in Collections after all. Mosaics are boring, dragon heads FTW!

After helping Fenris fight Hadriana, I couldn't help but smile when she tells him he has a sister who serves a Magister named "Erimond" because I remember what I did to him in DAI. Sweet revenge!

Speaking of dragons, update on my Dragon Hunter Challenge: How low can you go?

I might have blown it in The Storm Coast. Even though I tried to manage XP carefully, I still gained too much. I tried to compensate by skipping all but the Tower Camp in EdL and only closed the two river rifts and Drakon's rift. That saved a lot of XP, but not enough, apparently.

So in EdL, I faced Hivernal, level 19, at just over the limit for level 15. Now I only have a 4 level gap instead of a 5 level gap going forward. The remaining dragons all have enough XP to level me up a whole level each, so I'm on track to finish at a hair over level 19, instead of the level 18 I was shooting for. Sad faced clown. :(

On the bright side, I now have Tier 3 schematics and a few Tier 3 mats (though I'd kill for more Great Bear Skins) and these battles are getting shorter and shorter. I finished off Hivernal without using a single focus ability.

Now I have a decision to make. In my first run, to prepare for the Sandy Howler in the Hissing Waste, I farmed Poison Spider glands to gear up weapons with Master Dragon-Slaying Runes. Even with that, the Howler was a tough fight the first time around. I used all my focus abilities and still had to face multiple waves of dragonlings. I think both Sera and Solas were unconscious for the last quarter of the battle.

I might forego that this time, in order to save on XP. I'm not sure it will make that much difference, given that I'm already over limit on XP, but I don't seem to need the extra damage and more XP can only make things worse. I also have to decide whether it makes more sense to make better weapons for Sera and Cass and forego even the first level Dragon-Slaying runes, since I have no mats left to make any kind of weapon runes, or stick with what I've got. The weapons they have are pretty decent, Cass has a mid-level Tier 3 axe with some Tier 3 mats, Sera has a top-of-the-line Tier 3 bow with some Tier 3 mats. I did a comparison build of the bow and Sera would gain about another 45 DPS (255 vs 300), but lose 20 due to the lack of a rune, for a net +25. She'd gain another 5% in crit chance (41 to 46). So might be worth it, at least for Sera.

So I think its been a while since I posted in here...but I have been playing hte game I think every day since then.  And having a lot of trouble filling out my requisition for the Assassin Specialization. :/  Been up and down Crestwood, scouring the Western Approach with a Comb...and then now onto the Hinterlands.  Nearly...over 3 hours spent hunting for those weapon things and have not gotten a single one of them.  But, I am still having a lot of fun in the search. :D  More worried I will be overleveled for the campaign at this point and some of my other plans may be put on an interesting hold.

The third "squillback" or whatever, who give you the third "alpha back spine" is in the north on the map. You must take the fort and do the two war table operations allowing you to pass the green smoke to get there.

Something similar happened to me in the Western Approach for the dragon side-quests. I ended up reloading to a point before the quest was given and magically the loot items started appearing! It might work for you.
