Spoiler

I'm going to spend the next hour on this, I just know it.

Nightingale Approves +15 <3

I'm still waiting for real life to give me a chance to play JoH. Glad to hear everyone else is having so much fun with it ^_^

Archdemon died (again), first time I did that fight on Nightmare. Longest.Battle.Ever. Especially because Sten just got a fireball in his face after five seconds and went down, Loghain had to run around like a madman to keep that thing off of me and Morrigan. Old man got some moves

I never quite figured out how to make Sten combat-ready. He was always way too squishy for me to use him as anything but a sounding board. Kind of like Iron Bull.

I don't play 2H very often but when I do, I'm not squishy, so I don't get why they are. Bad AI?

Yeah, I think it is bad AI. They use their abilities stupidly and tend to just...walk into fire, AoEs, melee range of things they should leave to rangers, and have a habit of taunting big baddies away from the actual tank

Bull is actually okay with S&S, but Sten...He only gets the one specialization, I think? So you really need to be careful how you build him. It's easier to just bring Shale, Alistair/Loghain, etc. if you're not playing on a lower difficulty or just want banter. That said, Blackwall's a decent 2h warrior, so it is possible for the AI to cooperate. When it feels like it :P

Sten is okay, but I brought Loghain with me for the final battle. Sten defended the City and did a damn good job of it! People tend to say Loghain is a poor substitute for Alistair, but I never had problems with him in battle.

I like Blackwall best in DAI though. Maker bless Cass, but seriously, if she charges with her shield and knocks me off a cliff again, she's getting thrown off one next time! IB is okay, but he tends to fall fast if I don't watch him closely.

Bull was actually ok in my last game. I kept him as 2H but ignored the Reaver spec. I don't think he died once, which was definitely unusual for him. Of course, I was playing on casual....that may have helped. :P

Ryal Cousland helped Oghren reunite with Felsi and helped Shale find out a little more about her history. The Landsmeet is coming up soon.

I've never had that problem with Cassandra but then I'm always an archer or mage so for. i prefer that style of game play so she can charge all she wants, though i am absolutely certain that it swap her out pretty quick if she did that to me.

my only worry is using leap shot and falling off a cliff cos i wasn't watching where i was standing.

Took my female human mage through the fallow mire, killed some avar, killed some undead, closed a couple of rifts (the one with the damn revenant was a pain) and became a knight enchanter.

Sten I found to be quishy like Iron Bull. The same can be said for Oghren

The times I use Iron Bull he would die a lot. Once I gave him a sword and shield, he did well, even on nightmare

Cole dies a lot using daggers. I gave him a bow. He did very well even on nightmare

The couple of times I had Loghain, he did well. Hard to say if was better than Alistair. I would say they're about the same

It seems the only good two-handed warrior is the main character.

I did the same thing in my first PT (it's soo cute!  ) Also Cassandra somehow ended up in the cage, idk how she did that

She just wants the Inquisitor to show as much enthusiasm and adoration for her as they do for the nug.

Probably

Spoiler

Bruce finished the Hinterlands, except for the High Dragon. And I just remembered, that I have to talk to Corporal Vale again, to recruit him as an Agent.

Then he went to the Storm Coast and watched Vinsomer kill the Giant, IB loved it, Varric not so much. Cleared the Coast for the most part, just missing some Shards and the Rift on Morrin's Outlook. At the Moment he's in the middle of Keeping the Darkspawn Down and still has to get the War Table mission to start Red Water.

What I find annoying is, I haven't found a single Venatori yet. Except for the two groups in the Hinterlands during Dorian's One Less Venatori quest.  I don't get it, in Casual those places where swarmed with Venatori and now nothing.  <_< I want Bruce to be a Rift Mage, but how, if I can't find any Tomes?  :crying: *whines*

Have you tried Exalted Plains? There are 3 places where Venatori will spawn for this quest.

But on topic...

My human mage, Connie, finally cleared out Exalted Plains, had nice photosession in Hissing Wastes and accidentally bumped into Venatori Zealots while she was by herself (poor bastarts). Then she spent too much time in Val Royeaux eavesdropping (shame on you, Connie!).

Also something strange happened after starting new game. After reaching Haven I wanted to assign skill points... to learn that Solas had only one skill point assigned (Barrier) and Varric... had upgraded Flank Attack, nothing else. My Lavellan was quite suprised, to say the least

I went there, tho only to meet the Elves till now  I think I'll go into the other direction today, maybe there are some latin-mumbling idiots.  (I know they're supposed to speak Tevene, but it sounds like Latin  :D )

From what I know one place is really close to Dalish Camp and Venatori should respawn after leaving and entering Exalted Plains o 3o

I don't think so. It's the first time this happened and I started waaaaaaay too many games to not notice it before. Most of them lasted only to Haven, but stil.

To make DAI more challenging I play with friendly fire lol and she knocks me on my ass everytime she using the Charging Bull attack.

Yeah Leap Shot has doomed me a few times if I'm not careful. Never use it against a dragon!

I like Blackwall better as a tank.  The champion tree works pretty well for the way I play, but Cass is great to have along for demons and spellcasters.  For melee, I tend to avoid her entirely for that reason alone.  Wow, for her size, she packs a punch.  I also tend to forget fade shield is there.  Applying it at the moment of impact would allow Inq to ignore Cass' collateral damage completely.  I just can't get the AI with companions.  I can understand whether friendly fire is enabled or not, a shield bash is going to send you flying.  What I can't understand is why if two characters can't occupy the same space, why is it always the controlled character that gets bumped off the cliff?

Hey, that's something else I forgot to mention about the giant fight.  Fade shield was made for flying boulders, just don't stand next to anyone.  And Dorian's power of the dead ability really is pretty cool.  Sorry I scrapped that character now.  I'll save it for the one who's going to try to annoy everyone.

The same has happened to me and I've seen it happen to Sera as well. I use it against dragon a lot with success.

One good thing about leaping shot, is that I use it to reach a shard in the Exalted Plains. Either myself or Sera have our back to the spot and then use leaping shot to get up to the shard. The shard is near the two towers that require the deft hands perk to open near Fort Revasan

I tend to lean a lot toward Champions in my games. I find them better than Templars, though Carver was amazing in the final fight against Meredith! That was the one time a Templar was one of my main fighters.

Friendly fire can be tricky. I must say if I shock myself one more time with my own lightning attack, my Inquisitor will start sporting afro hair. And I noticed that. It's always the controlled one.

I love when Dorian revives the dead. It's my fav attack, and he likes to use it without my setting it to preferred.

I managed to make Cole a killing machine that never falls in battle after specing him just right. He and Blackwall and almost invincible atm.

I never thought of doing that! Lol I collect the shards the old fashioned way. I nearly quit when I collected them in the Oasis. I love how the tracker shows their location is right where you are standing, but it's not there because it's either above or below and you have to figure it out yourself.

That sounds like it's really worth trying for the one by the wolf statue that gives me grief.  One thing I've found helps triangulating shards is noting the intesity of the quest marker.  Marking it with a star and moving up and down vertically, parallel to it, noting where it's brightest, will let you pinpoint pretty well which ledge to aim for.

Found the ones next to the Dalish Camp and got a Tome, thanks  :kissing:  Then I went to the Hinterlands and back, but they didn't respawn  hmmm.....  I decided to go to the last Venatori for Dorian's quest, maybe they spawn later again.

Really weird Õ__ô tho I wonder why Bruce (as an elf) is as tall as a Qunari.  :? He's taller than Cullen  :crying:

Yeah it's a matter of knowing the quest marker is right, but not accurate. The shard IS nearby, just not exactly where it's glowing. I turn up the volume at that point and listen for the voices. I also try and climb to the highest point and see if I can make out the marker.

No problem :) I'm sure you'll finally find those Tomes (there are two more places in Exalted Plains where those Venatori spawn, but I can't tell you exatly where, since I got my last Tome from Vints near Dalish Camp).

I made a few tests. It seems if you save your game just after sealing first rift (and before you jump to join Cass, Solas and Varric), then leave the game and reload said save, that thing can happen. I reproduced it on two charries (with the one when it first happened it makes three), but I think it's still too little to make some serious assumptions.

Why you cry? It's cool your Bruce is so tall! o 3o

so, I've had some problems with the war table since i got the game. it was not so much the games fault as it was/is the country i am in.

rather often the power goes out which causes everything to go down the drain. if i have a 45 min op going on the war table it will now take 14 hours and stuff like that all because the power went out while i was playing. i really annoys me it get to the point of one of them threatening to take 8808 hours and 8 min. for a single thing. this also occurs if the game crashes while i am playing.

so i asked about it in a thread a few weeks ago and (warden-something) helped me out. said i needed to reset the x-box clock. it had to do with me playing offline. anyway. i don't know how to reset the clock but the guy said it auto resets along as your online. so on i went and yay the timers reset. i was rather happy cos i was waiting on a 3 hour operation.

its not that i wasn't willing to play/wait for the 14 hours to finish except that i have only just come off a 14 hour shift in the game as it is, so I'm a little tired now lol.

anyway heres the kicker. for some unknown reason the things i had going on the war table were all finished when i got back into the game.

so recap. it went set war table 3.5 hours., play 5 mi, game crash. turn of then on with the x-box. get into game one noooooo threatens a 14 hour time things on stuff. turn off, set up internet, log into thing in game. load game and  YAY all stuff finished,

so yeah I'm kinda happy now.

(sorry if no one cares but i thought it was worth mentioning incase other people had the same problem on occasion.)
