I put points in Reaver spec only if there's nothing more I want xD He can handle himself quite well with 2h + Vanguard (I do that for almost all my pts).

If I take multiple mages, I like to have mixed elements. I think I prefer fire staves, only because there's a chance for burn o 3o

I played dw in both DAO and DA2... and getting DAI dw may be a shock. Although I really enjoyed that sneaking part and with proper skills you can actually be in Stealth almost whole fight. Sneak, attack, stealth, run away and leave rest to Cass xD

That gif is perfect!

Thanks xD I'm in a middle of IYHSB, so wooho

 About MP... I'm strange one and from time to time I play it solo. I have yet to complete it once, but who cares. I like characters there.

Good idea xD I put points there in my first PT, because it was Bull's spec and I wanted to try it, but I wasn't really useful.  <_<

That's what I mostly do too, just when the enemy's a fire dragon, two ice staves make more sense xD I love the Virulent Staff, it has a 10% chance to apply Walking Bomb. Freeze your enemies and watch them explode  :D

Aha  :o well, it sounds cool (especially the leave the rest to Cass part  :D )

Yes!

Good~

 As long as you have fun

@Gilli-chan - if you decide to risk a virtual itchy beard, you might get a cute reference to it.  I like his romance best of any of them, but I haven't tried Sera's, and it might not be your taste.

BTW, does anyone know what the deal is with the giant human skeletons outside Var Bellenaris and near the Emerald Graves' dragon?  I just found the sack of loot next to the one in the Graves and remembered the ones in the jars by the gate, and noted that since it was holding a maul, and the giants use their arms, it wasn't a giant.  Is there any connection?  Is it the "lost race?"

Maybe I'll do, tho it'll take some time to get there. (I've already romanced Josie and am now romancing Cassandra. Next will be Solas, Cullen, Dorian in that order  :D ) I love cute references, so Blackwall isn't entirely off the stove.

You can also find them in JoH, idk what they are/were tho.

making a new char, and trying to decide what i should choose. doing this cos my x-box is having trouble connecting atm, need to carry it to the main building on my property where it likes to connect. problem with that is that its almost 10pm and we are sitting at - 4 degrees C' tonight.  yeah thats not much compared to many places but bare in mind that South Africa average at 25 degrees C' or higher during summer. and winter had 16 during the day and down to - 6 or less at night during winter. i remember one year it was 40 degrees C' at night so its pretty hot so the cold is not comforting for us lot.

anyway, probably going to be a 2-hander  see what thats like.

Gatataar Adaar surpassed himself by killing a dragon with Sera, Solas and THE Iron Bull. He got roaring drunk with Bull afterwards and woke up with the hangover from hell. He wants to kill more dragons and is tying up all loose ends before starting his attack on the wilds. Then, The Elder One will die by his hand and then, he shall take a well earned break.

This demo made me so jelly.... I remembered watching the beginning part before I was ever interested in Inquisition which was like early last year. OMG! Everything about it is amazing. So much better than the final product. I hate that the more meaningful decisions and gameplay are only for personal quests and story missions that progress the game. Everything else is just grind.

I know right! It looked so cool and different from the final version. The story itself had more meaning. There were higher stakes, a sense of urgency in each quest and the enemy has a threatening presence throughout. The Crestwood example they showed forced the Inquisitor to make a choice. Either save the townspeople or save the soldiers at the keep, and the player is timed on it. The outcome of it is a major turning point and impact on the Inquisitor. It's too bad this version didn't make it into the final, however, I'd love to see something like this in a future Dragon Age game.

They did do it, but differently.  There's a lot being introduced in Crestwood, and pieces of the idea show up everywhere, just not all at once.  Instead, there's a chance to learn the controls, because I know I didn't read them as they flashed past, make a decision with minimal impact to get a feel for how approval works, then start increasing the pressure with things like timed quests or virtual lives at stake.  The game is really big, and they didn't want to bunch too much intensity in one place if it was going to be able to be sustained.  At Crestwood, it's right at the beginning of the 2nd act.  There's a whole lot of information on quests and background information that was given fairly quickly, and springing a timer like that at that point in the game is too soon.  Let people settle in and explore their new surrroundings, then let them take it in smaller pieces.  It would be too easy to dislike the whole game because of a mistaken decision early on.  Later on, you can weather the storm if it turns out you made a doozy.

Marcus has once again done something no other quizzy before him has accomplished: he found all the seeds for his garden. The final holdout was dawn lotus, so he made a special trip back to the Fallow Mire just for that. MIsson accomplished. :D

Spoiler

Before heading back to Emprise for some dragon hunting, there were a couple of personal missions to complete. First, a trip north to an old temple of Dumat that Samson was using for his headquarters. On the way there, Marcus and team stopped in Val Royeaux for some shopping and a wedding, but came across a much more sobering event: a man about to be hanged. [Marcus didn't go see Blackwall before he disappeared, so he had no idea BW would be in the city. Though Dorian did somehow. <_<].

Upon seeing Blackwall speak up for the condemned man, Marcus thought he might be going to invoke the Right of Conscription (though why, he wasn't sure; the guy didn't look like he'd be much use in a fight). But no, that would have made things too easy. Turns out Blackwall wasn't Blackwall but instead some former Orlesian soldier-turned-mercenary who let his men take the blame for orders he issued. Wonderful. So now what? Cullen, who had accompanied them for the trip to the temple, told Marcus they could try to get Black....Rainier released to the Inquisition but Marcus told him he'd have to think about it. They needed to get moving on the temple before it was too late. He'd worry about Blackwhateverhisnameis later.

Spoiler

Before leaving the city, there was the wedding to attend. Poor kids didn't even have their families present :crying: so Marcus hoped his appearance and advice would do them some good. He'd never say it aloud, but he really enjoyed out-maneuvering that bi-atch of a matchmaker. :P
Spoiler

He also bought the mystery box.

Finally, they made it to the temple or, what was left of it. The whole place was on fire and a few red templars were stationed to block their entry. Cullen struck a few poses along the way. <_< Showoff. They found what they needed, luckily, and gave poor Maddox a funeral.
Spoiler

Marcus sent the others back to Skyhold without him, and he headed to Velance to meet Leliana. They found an interesting message left for her by Justinia, as well as evidence of Xena: Warrior Princess impersonating a historical Chantry figure.
Spoiler

Now, for some fun!

Well, Crestwood is accessible right after talking to Hawke in Skyhold. It's not too soon to introduce it at that part of the game, because it would actually give hope to the players that they could expect something more or even better in the later missions. I think it would have brought the intensity Dragon Age: Inquisition actually needed. There wasn't really anything too intense aside from the storyline missions and personal quests. I would say that the game offers too many side quests while trying to get players to explore the large maps. The side quests technically drown the fun of exploration, because it's too excessive and repetitive. The only motivation to explore is to complete most of the pointless side quests for the majority. Many of those side quests and missions had opportunities to be more in depth and meaningful to the gameplay and story. Inquisition needed those choices that needed to be made hastily and on the spot to actually give the game that intensity and sense of rush to feel alive. Most players may go for the choices that show much compassion, but if they could see that their choices had a larger impact on the world they are exploring they will be pulled into the atmosphere of the game. It's not too soon when you've practically poured more than 10 hours of your time into the beginning of the game. Basically, Act 1 by itself is more than 10 hours if grinded to the point where you must proceed on with the story missions. By that point, I need something to keep me going. Something like this demo.

Gatataar Adaar wiped out the Venatori in the Western Approach. He was an unstoppable force of rampaging Qunari and smited them with his Greatsword along with Bull and Sera. He burst into the still ruins and killed everything before retreving some very low quality loot. Then he returned supplies to the Scholar and dealt with the rifts. And i'm starting to dislike the loot system as it's seem to be a bit crap in certain regions just because i'm high level. Oh and i'm hoping that i've not caused a glitch by doing Bull's quest whilst a 16 hour Ben Hassarath operation was in progress.

Love me like you do - Josephine Montilyet & Lady Trevelyan

Been wanting to do something a little different for Josephine & Trevelyan. The pictures are kinda large so they got their own spoiler tags. Dialogue is based on the lyrics from Ellie Goulding's song Love me like you do.

I need a DAI musical right now. One song isn't enough. Couple of tavern songs aren't enough. Need a proper romance singing musical in the next game  :P

While what you're saying is true, the concept in the video that was causing trouble was one that was too big for that part of the game.  With so much stuff still being processed from exposition, it was a bit of a waste to put it all the fun tension in one place, if it helps to look at it like that.  You get to enjoy the suspense and the impact and the fun that makes you want more, but for a longer period of time without burning out and hating the game because you chose the wrong line of dialogue or didn't have the right staff equipped.  There's enough there for the game to be really immersive, and sometimes it's better to break the immersion with a pause here and there.

It's good to want more.  If you're finding that grinding for 10 hours doing story missions tedious, skip em'.  Nearly all will solve themselves if you don't want to deal with them.  Focus on getting to the good stuff.  It will be harder to get there, because doing the story missions is what gets you the loot and power to reach those points, but that's also what makes it a good game.  The challenge is how to optimize what you find to be able to face the challenges like you want to.  If you want to rush to the good stuff, you can, but it might be harder, and that's what you want, right?

The trailer was really exciting, and with the game still in development, they decided it worked better somewhere else.

About a week later than planned, but I've finished JoH. The Inquisition will no doubt benefit greatly from Storvacker's cultural exchange. ;)

I've reached the level cap. I wish the next story DLC increases it. Leveling up at a high level won't change much, but it is fun to do.

Back to Morrigan and Corypheus.

I'm curious, not that I'm complaining but in some games you can have a fat character. i always play a thin one but still I'm curious why that option wasn't added.

I popped back to Harrit's to sell my loot and play "wheel of fortune" with my reading skills.  Read "Digital Remasterwork Prowler Armor" and chuckled.  Proceeded to assign equipment and check up with people I keep meaning to talk to, then found myself in front of Cole, who I always forget for some reason.  Next to him was the last Hard in Hightown I needed.  The amount of coincidence is a trifle unsettling, but also funny.  Do I still have what I meant to sell?  Check.  Am I standing in a bar?  Check.  Did I just find something I probably left the last time I was here?  Yep.

I'd love to craft a better/own staff, but I haven't gotten any good staff schematics yet. =/ (also I want one, where I can put my crafted grip & blade into, I love heal by death of enemy)

To be honest, when Bruce saw Cassandra in Haven, punishing those dummies, he thought he might be next. xDD

---

So, Bruce went against the Fereldan Frostback again. This time he did leave Cole at Skyhold and took Vivienne. At the first attempt they all died within minutes, because Bruce had forgotten to fill up his Regeneration Potions.

Okay, second attempt. This one went better, not only because of the potions, but also because three mages with Revival are better than two. While Bull and Vivienne worked on the Frostback's legs, Bruce and Dorian fought from afar with Winter's Grasp and Horror. Soon she was on 50% and sent her babies, which didn't live long enough to do much harm. It followed a heated battle, where she kept screaming that the parties ears started ringing. When she had lost enough health to fly up to her nest, Bull and Vivienne followed her at once and so did Dorian. Except for Bruce, who kept dying because he was lying in a circle of fire and whenever he got resurrected he caught fire and died again...

So Vivienne had to use her focus ability to bring everyone back to full health.

After that the fight was pretty much over for the Dragon and Bruce could claim her skull.

tumblr_npks6xF8pS1rr7n8lo9_1280.png

After that he celebrated with Bull. Whatever Bull's drink was, it was too strong for Bruce and he ended below the table.

When Bruce had slept off his hangover, he took Blackwall, Cole and Solas and went to Crestwood to meet Hawke's friend Stroud. Next stop: Western Approach.

I actually don't care about staff grip/blade, so I go for Black Emporium schematics. What's more, there's not a single T3 schematic for staff with grip and blade slot that I like *shrugs* Heal on Kill is good for me on lower levels, but who needs HoK on higher levels when enemies have no way to lower my health! *evil laugher* Ekhm... I just go for Guard on Hit.

Haha, yes. I kind of felt sorry for those dummies.

So, Deo was busy today. She helped Josie with family matters, got a few new agents, met with Loghain, totally ditched half of possible companions, found a dirty secret Corypheus was keeping from Calpernia... and a few other things. Really busy, but that's not all. After a heated 'debate' with lady ambasador ('You're Inquisitor! You can't go there like that!''No.''But Inquisitor!''No.''Inquisitor...''Alright, but it must also be practical. No Orlesian fashion, understood?'), Deo got a haircut before visiting Halamshiral. After outplaying everyone she's ready to have nice vacation at Western Approach.

The Qunari Staff Blade and Grip look the best and they probably have the best stats on them. Anything with Leather as Utility or Offensive is good for a mage.

Oh, yes indeed.  The staff blade has 11 cloth utility slots, split 8 & 3, iirc.  It's really good for tweaking attributes if you want to emphasize one build over another.  I don't remember seeing a staff grip.  Are you talking about the Qunari sword grip?  I'm more familiar with staffs and axes, and haven't used that one much.  If you're using a Qunari staff grip, was it for a sale or a loot drop, and do you remember what the slots were?  Some of the schematics do the same thing with different looks.  For staff grips, I like the thorny grip for the constitution bonus (lots of dawnstone to work with.)

When I add a blade or grip to my staff, I look for utility or offense that can increase my magic or attack and for defensive I usually have ranged defense. Once I get my knight enchanter specialization, I change my ranged defense to melee defense.

I doubt Calpernia survives her confrontation with Corypheus, but the Inquisitor let her go. Morrigan was more the thirsty than the Inquisitor this time. Now lets see if she can dream up something for that dragon.

I look for critical chance and critical damage for staffs, because that's what kills enemies faster especially with Energy Barrage. That power is probably the best power for any mage.
