Just talked to all companions before preventing the doom upon the world. I noticed that I forgot to do Leliana's quest. It's OK now, although she almost lost herself.

I hope Cassandra will be chosen as the Devine. I'll know tomorrow when I do the end game. Not sure why, but no matter which side I have chosen she'll end up being the Devine anyway. Only in my first run I got Leliana and in one other I got Vivienne.

Varric does pop up to say 'Where's Hawke? Where's Hawke?' if he/she was left in the fade.

Hmm, that would be just as annoying. I think I had him in my party both times I left Hawke behind though, so it didn't matter. Unless it's clear ahead of time everyone is going, no one not in the party should have a cameo. Let the player decide who makes up the peanut gallery.

Wait, about Varric...

Just not so long ago I watched video from this quest and Cassandra was the one asking about Hawke, since Varric wasn't in a party.

I'm also going to leave Varric this time since I'm planning to leave Hawke. I'll have first hand proof of what's happening.

I was going to do the dlc with an archer Inquisitor when I realized I deleted the character because the ps3 only allows so many saves. Oh well

I started a playthrough as an archer. Maxine Trevelyan is her name.  Not sure what I will do in this playthrough.

Funny you mention this.  I've been putting off supporting Cass, and finally decided to do so, even though I'd planned Leliana, because for me, she just seems to make sense.  I guess, since the chantry will survive in one way or another regardless, I'd rather go with Faith than Ambition or Deception.  Both have their places, and others can and do interpret it differently, but it does seem the least harmful option.  I got Lel first time, and was so caught up in still playing DAO that I wasn't happy with it.  I don't know how to describe the logic, but I blamed the string of wrongnesses that led to having to choose whether Al survived or not on the fact that she was going to survive regardless.  I got Viv once, and immediately reloaded, because I didn't think the same spark that lit the fire should sustain it, and that all that would happen if she were elected was that she would achieve her goal of power while the rest of the world could find a way to work around it.  It's OK if you're the one holding the strings is all I've got to say about that decision.

;)  :D

Oh cool  :o

My canon Warden is Kita Mahariel (rogue) who romanced Alistair and told him to marry Anora (sadly, I didn't harden him, so they broke up ), then Sabrina Hawke (also rogue) romanced Anders, made Bethany a Warden and sided with the Mages. That's the Word State I'm currently playing in with Bruce.

(with Haya Adaar I made a Keep import mistake and had to play with the default World State, so I count her more as a "Test-Inquisitor").

Awesome! And yeah I always harden Alistair and Leliana. It especially makes sense for her based on what she turns into in DAI. A softened Leliana can seem like she lost herself in the shadows, but it still feels less connected to DAI then if my Warden already started her on that path.

I find it funny that if you side with the Mages in DAI, you get cameos from other DA games, but if you side with the Templars, you meet new people. I do have trouble choosing between Fiona and Barris though.

I used to have trouble finding a canon Inquisitor for DAI until JOH. That's when I got sold on a Dalish Elf because it looks like she's following in Ameridan's footsteps. Lol

Could be; it's just not really clear that is the case. Kind of like the first time I did the finale without Cass in my party. She came out of nowhere to whack one of the demons and I was like: where the **** did you come from?!

It's not like ME where radios let everyone know what's going on, whether they're on the ground or back on the ship.

here i am wondering how the hell they got the giant mirror of Morrigans in the door?

Through the hole in the wall (every wall has a big hole in it in Skyhold, it's a ruin!) Then they patched up the hole and everything looks fine by the time Morrigan takes you in there. :)

Iron Bull: "Owl you doing?"

Dorian: *Sigh*.

:D

Anyhoo I feel like I can either jump ship over to the DLC (which apparently can be done before games end?) or head over to arbor woods because I completed these two bad boys for Maliaoniss:

Clip_%2020_zpsvode0gq9.jpg

Clip_%2018_zpsq1tksqp6.jpg

I defeated the high dragons in a different order this time around. i usually have the Storm Coast dragon last but the Storm Coast dragon this time around was number six while Hissing Wastes was number seven then the final two Du Lion dragons were nine and ten. I still feel the Forbidden Oasis collect all shards shrine boss is a pludjin pushoever if you research level 2 and level 3 focus. With a full charged meter of your inquisitor spell it's bye bye shrine boss in ONE ^%$$# HIT!!!

Also got these zany quotes between Iron Bull and Cole. I think Cole's still a virgin. Read if you like.

Spoiler

PS to Gilli-chan:

I do agree about the whole spoiler thing. However I forgot to mention that I did appreciate the PC posters a month or two ago tag their DLC experiences as spoilers because I have been playing DAI on the XBOX 360 since launch and was bummed that a-lot of posters on many threads were posting stuff related to it because they got it when I haven't gotten it until recently and felt jipped by the wait. Worst part was people would start subjects i feel I can contribute like 'your thoughts on DA's elves' or something but when I start reading certain threads like that it starts saying stuff like: "so the first inquisitor was a elf and blah blah blah" I was like "WHAOW! WHAOW! WHAOW!....HEY NOW!!!" SOME OF US HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE DLC YET! WTF! I THOUGHT THIS WAS A SUBJECT PROTAINING TO THE DA UNIVERSE ON A WHOLE!"  I was furious. I hate when people just assume everyones got the bloody DLC. I understand this is the spoiler section but still I feel like people may need to tag a few things here and there a tad still here since A: There is no (DLC spoilers) section on this web site that I am aware of  and B: as you said some people are not as far as some of us.

PPS:  If anyone did read this far and didn't want to be spoiled I am sorry and you know how I felt on certain threads.

I find it weird that they all talk as though they were present for the final fight against Coryfish. Ha, as far as I'm aware, the only ones at the start of the battle are Cassandra and Harding - everyone else just shows up after he's defeated. If they wanted it to look like all the party is fighting there, they should've had something like in DAO/DA2/ME2 to reflect it.

The Inquisitor slammed Corypheus' ball into the hole in the sky. Cassandra became Devine and, for the time being, is helping the Inquisition with some kind of important "emergency". The epilogue mentioned that although there was some initial resistance against her reforms, she manages to restore the peace with the aid of the new Seekers, many of which are ex-templars, who now favor to protect the people. Celene, Gaspard and Briala are playing games again, but it looks like the empress' position is strong due to the Inquisition's "support". The Wardens are rebuilding. No word from Loghain, though. It looks like Blackwall will be joining them some time in the future. Dorian sticks around too and is ready to help his people. It looks like everyone else is doing fine, except Solas and those at Weisshaupt. I do hope we'll see Flemeth back. The story wouldn't be the same without her. At least we have Morrigan, wherever she may be. And chances are slim that Josephine leaves the Inquisitor's side.

I thought about this and to me Leliana is too unstable. She also tries to change the world too much in no time. Whereas Cassandra does a lot of good, by reforming the Chantry's structure in such a way that it will survive in the long run, finding a cure for tranquil mages, and make the Seekers an institution to protect her flock. If you talk to Leliana and ask her about what she thinks about the people who she should serve then she doesn't think highly of them. If feels like they are objects that she can control. That way she's still too much of a spymaster to me.

It doesn't mean that I will never want Leliana (or, the Fade forbid, Vivienne) to be a Divine in a future play through, though. I try to play each one differently. But I do have my preferences.

Well I am not 100% entirely sure but maybe Varric has lower cunning than Sera? I remember back in DAO/DAA and DA 2 that certain doors do require not just lockpick skill but a certain amount of cunning points. It really hard to say in DAI since most doors can be opened just by a thief character or is DEFT HANDS whatever is researched and taking a thief character. Varric does seem to open any lockpickable door for me.

Okay, I've finished with the renegade/evil playthroughs and decided to start a more moderate character. It's been about 3 months since I've started from the beginning so it's like starting anew as though it's the first time. Going to try and focus on new decisions which I haven't seen yet such as:

Spoiler

The world state is default and I'll be playing on nightmare for fun ^_^.

Decided to go for a Male, Dwarf Warrior called Derek with an American accent. He is going to focus on the sword and shield abilities although I am not too keen on playing as a warrior just because I prefer roguish tactics like backstab. Spent a lot of time with the character creation trying to get the ears and nose right. Then, I decided to give him a broken nose along with scars and a tattoo. The rationale behind this is that Derek has had a few scraps with the Carta underworld and the dangerous lyrium smuggler trade. Accepted Derek's face and it's already started to annoy me so a visit to the Black Emporium will be quicker than anticipated .

So the adventure begins (I do tend to ramble so bear with me :P) ...

Derek the Dwarf attended the conclave as a Carta scout looking for potential lyrium buyers. He approached both Mages and Templars alike negotiating deals because financial profit was all what mattered to him. Deals were made and it was looking promising until ... the explosion. Derek didn't know what happened but he was surrounded by a green mist that had the ability to alter his appearance. It was though it was a bad dream. However, dwarves don't dream so it was just unexplainable. Derek gained consciousness and realised he was shackled. An interrogation ensued but he couldn't disclose any useful information because he was still in a state of disorientation. Derek didn't know what was going on but at least they didn't uncover any evidence about the lyrium smuggling.

I am going to role-play this character as a repentant criminal and the conclave explosion is a chance for a new beginning. I will probably choose the sad/teary icon every time on the emotion wheel as well (another first for me as well). Derek walked outside to find the sky torn asunder and he was the only one who can stop it. He is going to travel the wilderness to test his new found power. There was contemplation of fleeing over the mountainous, snowy terrain to escape Cassandra but Derek thought it was best to comply and just progress forward.

I know this doesn't look a lot done today but I did spent most of the time in character creation. :)

Okay, I've finished with the renegade/evil playthroughs

How did you do your renegade/evil PT in DAI? I ask without sarcasm, because I always try to do at least one "Jerk Shep" PT. In DAO I defiled the sacred ashes, let Alistair turn into a drunk, etc. ME* is easy -- though killing everyone killable so that your final ship memorial is full is a challenge (haven't finished that one myself).

In DAI I guess you could acquire all companions and get them all to quit the Inquisition through disapproval? That's a challenge, since few things gain disapproval across the board. You'd really have to work at it.

I wondered about why Varric couldn't open the doors, then remembered that Cass tells us later that Varric would never set foot in a chantry.  He seemed pretty comfortable in Kirkwall's.  I wonder if what happened there changed his opinion.  Idle speculation, but it's as good a reason as any.

I just had a similar coincidental connection in the Hissing Wastes.  We settled Varric's filial sentiments at the burial grounds tomb, then went north and rescued the chantry sister (found her, YES!) from the spiders at the Field of Bones.  I probably would have gotten fewer giant spider glands if the stupid Venatori didn't keep interrupting my killing spree with, well, more, plus tasty Tier 3 silk and cotton to play with later.  I didn't realize those spiders keep spawning and coming back if you wander too far off in combat.  It was a fun break from listening to everybody gripe about sand in their shoes.

Started a new PT with a future Rift Mage lady Inquisitor, Demetria Trevelyan. So far, she's a bundle of fiery energy; became fast friends with Varric, Sera and Bull; and gets along with Cassandra, Vivienne, Solas and Blackwall. She's soon to head out to meet the Templars and Ser Barris. Because... Ser Barris.  B)

This girl very much likes change her hairstyle whenever she visits the Black Emporium. Xenon grudgingly has to give his opinion when she asks for it.

Demetria: *lets her golden blond hair down*

Xenon: No acquisition for taste! *grunts with disgust*

Demetria: What?! *changes her hair to reddish orange and wears it in a bun*

Xenon: You're going with that?!

Demetria: Fine! *changes to her natural dark red hair colour and ties her hair in a cute ponytail with bangs*

Xenon: Ehhh.. At least no one will point and laugh...

Demetria:  *zaps Xenon with lightning*

Xenon: Ack!! Urchin!! Bring me a moiiiissssstttt towelette!!! *dabs at his singed face*

I also revisited the Frostback Basin with two of my previous Inquisitors, Alessandra and Natalia.

Spoiler

Lastly, I rolled with my Tempest Archer, Julian, and explored the Emerald Graves. He defeated all of the Freemen with his girlfriend Cassandra, Bull and Vivienne. Helped out Fairbanks and the villagers, and reached level 16. Poor guy had to restyle his hair, because he ran around with a new military cut, but Cassandra hated it. So, he went back to his original 'do and Cassandra can once again run her fingers through his hair while they're smooching in her room.  ;)
