So yeah another busy, busy, busy day in the DA universe for me. Busy but productive. Lets see started off by selling off all my crap from Adamant then went off to buy an amulet of cunning for myself because....well with my new hat I need more cunning. Then went to do two judgements, set some war table missions to run and did my thing in the universe. Then off to the Black Emporium. Changed up Kara's look a bit. ( ) Gave her the scar, and well it looks painful and I am wincing a bit. Ma change it, and did up her hair a little. Also took pictures of all the sliders and positions and stuff to recreate, maybe for later.
After all that was done. Off to the Storm Coast to shut down the Templars and destroy some Lyrium. Then decided to try going one round with Vinsomar. Thought he was level 17 (I'm 16)....and he was 19. *wince* Did surpsingly well all things considered. Was not instantly killed and actually did some damage. But, had to stop and run away. Or well...erm...reload. After that went to seal more Darkspawn tunnels, and then collect more Shards.
Next time finish with the tunnels, then off to the Western Approach...eventually.
Oh, man. With you on that Vinsomer. I think he might better if I wait until after the Abyssal high dragon next time. For some reason, Vinsomer seems a lot tougher. Anyone ever try taking V with 3 warriors and a mage? With him, it might work better just to slug him out and let the mage cover them.
Yeah. I'll phone them in the morning. It's after midnight where I live.
To be fair, one should not buy it for its quality. The game offers better armor. For RP it is fine. One of the hands clips through the Stone-Bear Armor, though. So I guess the forums will riot.
Buying something like this is like saying thank you for the good times. Mind you, I don't think the game is perfect. Far from it, but I have spend a silly amount of time in this game.
The uncrafted armor you get is on Level 3, but you get three schematics too, so you can craft a better armor yourself =)
(I'm soo gonna craft the Avvar Armor for Bruce as soon as I get the Tier 3 schematics )
Standard superior armor has Item Level 24. The "superb" DLC armors have Item Level 19. I did craft them before posting.
Ah~ then I said nothing
I think they didn't want to outplay the "of the Dragon Hunter" schematics from JoH. (tho I haven't crafted that one myself yet, only used the one you can loot)

I was a bit surprised by the Before the Dawn chain when I resumed playing last night. It's the first time I got to Maddox and the Shrine of Dumat and heard more about Samson's story (I guess the guy wasn't a total jerk...). After clearing out the red templars and making Dagna happy by getting those lyrium-crafting tools, I dragged my lazy Inquisitor's butt to the Arbor Wilds. I should be getting around to the Temple of Mythal itself at some point (but my Inquisitor will probably continue to be lazy today because I'm trying to finish reading The Scarlet Gospels).
I've decided I like Samson a whole lot more since I learned he is voiced by Gideon Emery. I actually heard a little bit of Fenris in his voice when Marcus was talking to him at the Well.
Just bought the Spoils of the Avvar DLC
Me too....what can I say? I have no willpower.

According to Origin, I have 972 hours invested in DAI, which is a lot, but only about half of what I have for ME3 ( ::cough:: 1806 hrs ::cough:: ). That's why I am staying far away from DAMP.

Some interesting stuff happened. Story and pics under the cut.
Spoiler
While wandering the Avvar camp, this little squeaker decided to follow my lady Inquisitor and company around. Leliana's going to be delighted that Schmooples will have a new friend.
Since Natalia gained full approval and friendship of the Avvar at Stone Bear Hold, she was rewarded with many perks. The Frostback dracolisk became her new trusted steed.
On a different note, one can't explore different regions without having fun. Sera believes she can fly in the Storm Coast and it's rubbing off on Natalia. Cassandra groans as she watches her bestie get into reckless behaviour again....
Back in Skyhold, Natalia decides to chill with the Templars in their watchtower. Umm.. She needs to talk to her Knight Commander about the new recruits. They seem to be hollow.... Good grief do these guys have skeletons instead of floating eyeballs and teeth when you take their x-rays?!

Am in the process of uploading my screenshots from Temple of Mythal through end game. There are.....a few . By the time I'm done I'm going to be too worn out to post or to play.

Great screenshots all! I especially like the first one Mlady posted. I never thought to take one of finishing the ogre from ground level. Me, I wandered around the Frostback Basin, killed the giant, rescued Collette and found the ruins again, then claimed a few camps and two of the 3.5 fade creatures. The extra one+ is the spider, since I'm sure that thing brings itself back from the dead. I'm saving it until I get some new armor and health potions. I think I'll sell some of the weapons I found, but the guard dagger is for Cole, and the staff's got Dorian's name all over it. Inq has a refined schematic, but Varric still needs one. Isn't one a standard drop somewhere? Maybe the one with the sleeveless tunic and breastplate, sans coat (love that look on him )

Glad you liked it! It was a brief pause to get a coffee and then I thought it looked good, so I fixed the camera angle and snapped the pic, then unpaused and paused again to snap the final one.
I regret not catching the same killing blow with Loghain and my Amell against the Archdemon. It was a perfect scene of teamwork between two unlikely people who had become good friends.
I never thought Varric could look so buff until I had him wear that sleeveless tunic.

It's always fun with Dragon Age's lack of understanding what death is. DAO-Awakening is totally fine with loading a post-campaign save and let my Warden play Awakening even in death.
Oh, well. I'm gonna skip it and pretend the Warden really is dead

Hex, a new character, has arrived at Haven. I really dislike the rift at the temple. There is a bug there, where a mouse set to a high DPI can only close or disrupt it when you are at a specific spot, which makes it nearly impossible. Even though my mouse can switch DPI on the fly, it is still way too hard. Nope, using the KB is no workaround. BW knows about this bug, but refuses to fix it. Sigh. Hex died way too many times because of it.

But cool stats on your other armor (I need to craft more, I'm too easy satisfied with the stuff I can loot )
I know. The image also showed the clipping of her right hand, which I mentioned before. That's why the image was there. For a payed DLC one would expect better. They could have gone for a different design that prevents clipping altogether.
Comments and random stuff first before posting Arbor Wilds.
As a hypocrite as i tend to be I finished my first EVER mosiac 'SACRIFICE' (Hissing Wastes). I always seem to always get down to one no matter who I play (except for Vyre and Amolla). I found the last piece here:
You need to go to that one big venetori camp ground in the northeast (It's part of a side quest BTW) then I remember finding a route of some sort leading me to a campsite with venetori guys around which has isn't important BUt after you sack them and search around you'll find a piece of SACRIFICE there. Usually i keep finding all of the other pieces in the tomes and I know there is one in a weird tree zone west(?) somewhere which has some ruins and i believe has wyverns too. Anyhoo...
These don't feel like their worth it. Heck, the bloody dwarf guy doesn't even give you a cinematic story about the bloody thing. He just puts it in the bloody CODEX. ><. What's the point? I know I said I don't ever plan on finsihing any of these but I decided to do just one to see what you get out of it. It turns out nothing.
How did you do your renegade/evil PT in DAI? I ask without sarcasm, because I always try to do at least one "Jerk Shep" PT. In DAO I defiled the sacred ashes, let Alistair turn into a drunk, etc. ME* is easy -- though killing everyone killable so that your final ship memorial is full is a challenge (haven't finished that one myself).
In DAI I guess you could acquire all companions and get them all to quit the Inquisition through disapproval? That's a challenge, since few things gain disapproval across the board. You'd really have to work at it.
Frankly I agree. Way back in DAO I made a mage named Moonphase Demoir
and boy was she a *****. I had her kill, shag, deceive, betray and sway to the dark side. However Chasimess (DAO Moonphase ->DA 2 Lightwind -> DAI Chasimess) seemed to be in the middle. She's anti religion, spares wrong doers, and sided with Imshael. Up side was she was faithful to Josephine and those in her group.
Honestly I have yet to do anything as evil as Moonphase where I had her shag that dalish elf guy, tell the dalish elf girl the truth, break them up, then waltz in with werewolves later on, and kill the two.
I wondered about why Varric couldn't open the doors, then remembered that Cass tells us later that Varric would never set foot in a chantry. He seemed pretty comfortable in Kirkwall's. I wonder if what happened there changed his opinion. Idle speculation, but it's as good a reason as any.
I just had a similar coincidental connection in the Hissing Wastes. We settled Varric's filial sentiments at the burial grounds tomb, then went north and rescued the chantry sister (found her, YES!) from the spiders at the Field of Bones. I probably would have gotten fewer giant spider glands if the stupid Venatori didn't keep interrupting my killing spree with, well, more, plus tasty Tier 3 silk and cotton to play with later. I didn't realize those spiders keep spawning and coming back if you wander too far off in combat. It was a fun break from listening to everybody gripe about sand in their shoes.
1: Might be a possible explanation. Frankly I was just wild guessing because I know DAO/DAA and DA 2 run on a 'cunning' system (even though on DAO/DAA you would need to research the LOCKPICK tree too) where the higher the cunning the better your unique chats (get Dupre to side with you) and lockpicking (unlock master locks).
2: I....think i did that quest once...I remember dealing with a swarm of spiders once in Hissing Wastes for some reason. I think because I spared the rival chantry sister in Liliana's personal mission? Anyway there is a limited amount but like in Forbidden Oasis there's a spit ton of them.
Today I finally beat Jaws of Hakkon after having my a** handed to me by Gurd Harofsen more times than I care to mention. Eat that Hakkonites!
That guy is a tough guy to crack. Kicker was he puts out torches.
Just decided to craft a new staff, only to see that I don't have enough Everite/Stormheart for an Electro-staff -__-
*send Leliana to gather metals*
Welllllll....I am unsure if your as far as me but in the Arbor Wilds mission you can collect Stonehearts there in almost everywhere. However...I do not know if you can come back to the location.
As far as everite I think i commonly get them from either HISSING WASTES or CHAMPAIGN DU LION.
It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it.

So the whole 'brand new warden' thing is a lie? I swear I remember long ago reading somewhere even if your warden died in DAO you would be a 'new warden' or something in DAA.

Malaioniss discussed with the team and Morrigan on what they should be doing in the arbor Wilds. There was a big disagreement but Malaioniss told everyone to work as a team to hurt Corypheus where it hurts.
After the massive assault a inqisition soldier and Morrigan brought Malaioniss up to speed on what to expect. The soldier told Malaioniss to watch out for Corypheus's troops while Morrigan told Malaioniss to watch out for 'elven magic'.
My thoughts exactly Morrigan.
Anyway after enough plowing Malaioniss got within visible range of Capernia at a temple.
(Why does this look familiar?)
.
Anyhoo...After they left Morrigan told Malaioniss that Capernia and Corypheus are after a well. Even though Malaioniss was partially irate for Morrigan being a bit secretive he was still willing to help her. After completeing rituals to give chase to Capernia Malaioniss came across the leader of the ancient elves.
This was actually very interesting. Malaioniss tried putting the commonalities of the leader and Malaioniss into play that they are elves but the leader said "We are nothing alike" and "You are a shemlen to me". Since then he starts calling Malaioniss a shemlen. Talk about mean. Despite this fact Malaioniss treated him with respect and told him that he was after a real evil group of people and will stop at nothing to defeat them. The ancient elf leader accepted and was willing to help as long as Malaioniss was willing to never return there. Malaioniss accepted. However this didn't sit with with Morrigan because the leader did mention that he may even try to destroy the well to stop the other invaders so Morrigan turned into a bird and gave chase to the leader. Cole captain obvious's this by the way. Lol. So after following a elven guide to reach the well Malaioniss was able to reach near the well.
In there Malaioniss witnessed Corypheus's death and revival and was then stopped by Capernia who was steps closer to the well then Malaioniss.
Through some convincing Malaioniss provided proof to Capernia is being manipulated by Corypheus and is to be taken over by him when she out lives her usefulness. Malaioniss told Capernia she would make a better leader for Tevintir than a servant to Corypheus.
Dorian joked about it. Typical him. Lol.
Capernia accepted the offer as long as she is to be spared. Malaioniss spared her. Capernia left but told Malaioniss to claim the well to deal serious damage to Corypheus's plan.
Malaioniss reached the well to find the leader and Morrigan there to decide the wells fate. The elven leader felt his people outlived their usefulness since people have reached the well now and as time passed many of his people died in the process. Morrigan found his people stupid for fighting a lost cause and should allow her to gain the well. The elf leader is willing to give a peaceful choice to Malaioniss for the wells fate.
CHOICE TIME!
After Morrigan woke up she started speaking elvish but then english.
Corypheus was to late. Morrigan gave Malaioniss and his allies a way to escape. While escaping a unknown being halted Corypheus. Back at Skyhold the team discussed on what to do now since Corypheus has lost everything and gained nothing from the Arbor Wilds.

@naclynE - congrats on completing your collection. I don't think any decisions in DAO affect the appearance of the chantry sister in the Wastes. I think she's somehow tied in with Those Across the Water, that kinda weird operation that doesn't answer any questions but has a pretty decent reward.
I was going to start the dlc when I decided to go to the Hissing Wastes and do the Tomb of Fairel quest. Doing that quest put me at level 12. I crafted better items so that should at least let me live for a few seconds longer when I play the dlc.

Sounds like a good idea, themikefest. Worst thing that happens is you wander around camp and pick up some everite and silverite. Also, there are some level 19 gurguts outside camp and bogfishers for leather that you can probably tackle with advance preparation, if you want some nice leather. If you see a giant, turn around. It's lethal, but it's half-blind and slow.

Ah, yeah, now I see it. (I was too tired for that last night =.=) At least it looks like there could be a pocket, with the Apprentice Mail the Inquisitor's hand goes through a book.

I'm not far enough to go to the Arbor Wilds (I haven't finished Here Lies the Abyss yet) but you can also get Stormheart in the Flooded Cave in Crestwood. (I wasn't in the mood to walk through that again ) and no, you can't go back to the Arbor Wilds.

Bruce tried to kill the Northern Hunter, but died. Twice. First with Blackwall, Vivienne and Bull, then with Dorian, Vivienne and Bull. Tho the second group lasted a little longer. He then went to the Exalted Plains to train a little, do some quests and close some Rifts. Maybe when he's done there he'll try the Northern Hunter again. We'll see.
Oh, and I got the best banter between Dorian and Vivienne
Spoiler
Dorian: (Sighs.) What I wouldn't give for some proper wine.
Vivienne: Skyhold's steward is a sadistic little man who is trying to kill us.
Dorian: Perhaps he found a bargain is couldn't pass up, on vats of vinegar?
Vivienne: (Chuckles.) It could be worse, darling. It could be an Anders vintage.
Dorian: Egad. We'd be forced to retaliate.
