Spork! You're back! :D I was beginning to wonder if you fell into the hole beneath Skyhold and couldn't find your way out again. :P

:D If only!

Just kidding maybe Nah, it was just life, popping up and saying "howdy" like it does now and then. It's good to be back, realizing how much I missed this place, even after just a few days. And good to be back in Thedas too.

*sighs* I had an unhappy MP expirience today.

-snip-

Ouch. How rude.

--

On topic... continued Kubrie's adventure today by going to the Storm Coast to close some darkspawn holes. Oh Oh Oh, forgot to add... in my tour around Skyhold yesterday, I also realized I'd acquired everything I needed for the Assassin specialization, so that's what Kubrie is now. There was no notification or anything on the screen but Leliana seemed to greatly approve of this. First skill point spent on Hidden Blades which I haven't really noticed in combat yet.

Anyway, the gang -- Kubrie, Cassandra, Varric and Dorian -- left Skyhold to wander around the Hinterlands for a bit, so Cassie could find and kill one of the five outlaws on her seeker hit-list, and Dorian wanted to do some venatori hunting. So we did. Afterwards we traveled to the camp closest to the Fereldan Frostback's lair, and I sent Cassie and Dorian home and called out Bull and Viv instead. Bull because we were going to fight a dragon and he really enjoys that, and Viv because Dorian's specializing in fire magic this time, and Frosty would just laugh at his feeble attempts to hurt her.

So... we ran as fast as we could to the middle of the valley, so that Frosty couldn't shoot too many fireballs at us before the fight started, and it was then that I realized I still hadn't re-installed FRAPS yet, and after fully intending to do so when I was getting that screenie of the painting on Kubrie's wall last night. D'OH. So, no screenies of the dragon fight this time.  <_<

Not much to tell. It was probably the easiest time killing Frosty that I've had yet, even if Viv was incredibly squishy and used up almost all the healing potions, and even if we were interrupted halfway through the fight by a random group of red templars who decided to join the fray. This is my fourth PT and in three previous fights with Frosty, I've never seen that. It was kinda their fault that Viv was so squishy because they seemed to focus on her, and I had no idea for awhile that they were even there. I thought it was just some of Frosty's kids attacking her. I thought that Viv was a knight-enchanter, she could handle herself against dragonlings, and then everyone started shouting, "help Vivienne!" ...Sigh. okay. Wait, wha? The hell did the red templars come from?

Yeesh.

Despite all that, Frosty kinda whimpered quietly all the way into my new trophy room  It was really kinda unexpectedly easy, so that I almost forgot to collect that one piece of FT-Obsidian. But I didn't B)

So, instead of going back to Skyhold we went to the Storm Coast instead and closed a few darkspawn holes... and then met up with Bull's qun'ari contact. This is the moment I've been dreading for the whole PT, and in the end I played the decision both ways to see which I liked better. Sacrificing the Chargers sucks. I don't see any merit in it at all.... okay, an alliance with the qun'ari. So what? it ain't worth it. Bull is unhappy, and then later he's not at all himself. And Rocky, Grim, Stitches, Skinner, Dalish and Krem are gone. How can anyone feel good about choosing this option? Blech.

So I played it the only way it should be played. The chargers are alive and Bull is happier.... so much so that when we got back to Skyhold, he wanted to get drunk and celebrate slaying Frosty too. By that I mean, the entire "taarsidath-an halsaam" cutscene repeated. Weird. Not complaining, but I'm wondering it it's gonna happen every time we kill a dragon? Also the budding romance seems to begin a little better when the Chargers are not sacrificed.

Now the group is off to the Western Approach next.

Today I started my third playthrough after a break from DAI and spent well over an hour in the character creator getting my Marcus Trevelyn to look perfect and sexy for Dorian. Shame he's gonna be a jerk to pretty much everyone else ;-)

The only way I could make it work would be to play the ultimate pragmatist who cares more about results than people. I don't really like people like that and, since I want to like my characters, it's probably not gonna happen. Even my renegade and anti-social Shepards were nice to their crewmates (except for Ashley :P).

I just finished up with Marcus Trevelyan myself, and Dorian liked him just fine.  He was nice to pretty much everyone though. Except the bad guys.

So, I put the DAO re-download on pause for a couple of hours and ran around Haven with Tanith for a bit. She found the mana potion notes for Adan, and enough wood and iron for Threnn's requisition. She didn't flirt with Cullen (yet ) but she did with Solas. No one has commented on her odd choice of (lack of?) armor but Varric looks like a little Eskimo decked out in the Stone Bear gear. She also made some new threads for Solas and modded some of her other items. Also re-spec'd to trade out Flashfire/Chain Lightning for Immolate/Energy Barrage.

The most renegade shep I played was the kinda guy who would have sacrificed the Chargers. In fact, he'd have left Bull back at Skyhold for the mission, promising the whole time that nothing bad was going to happen, betrayed the Chargers, lied about it afterwards in such a way that Bull would feel sorry for him, and then hired Gatt to assassinate Bull so the betrayal would remain a secret. Yeah, that shep was an a**hole. He wouldn't have hesitated to choose the qun'ari alliance.

Ehhh, the goodbye scene with the Chargers back in Skyhold was well done, and I'm curious to see the rest of Bull's character development... if there is any. Maybe in a future PT when I'm not trying to romance him I'll stay with the plan to sacrifice the Chargers. But not this time.

My fav Inquisitor is a female Lavellan. Her story and romance actually adds to the main plot in a way that makes it feel canon to me, while the other romances are like breaks in the game for fun and fluff.

Mine too, so far. My very first pt was as a f.Lavellan with Blackwall/Cullen romance, then, for a second run, I made a m.Trevelyan and romanced Dorian. And I must admit, I liked the 1st pt more. Trevelyan often seemed dull in comparison, I went through his story (dragged myself, rather) mostly for the sake of completing the romance, all the time thinking of my Lavellan and missing my Lavellan  Now I'm playing as Lavellan again, and whoo, this is so much better! :D
I just wonder is it IQ's sex or origin (or both) that clicks with me.

Well, Ivy (my first IQ) did sacrifice the Chargers. Felt very sorry for them (and Bull) too, but for her the mission always came first. And the mission was to get Qunari support, so... Also, strategically, an alliance with Qunari was more important for her than one group of her soldiers. In her defense, she would just as readily sacrifice her own life for the cause. She's not evil or renegade, she's just very driven and capable of making hard decisions. Cullen (her LI) is MUCH softer than her, heh.

I don't know myself. I usually play a human mage in Origins. I'm playing an elf currently and I love her, but I still love my Amell most, and beat DAO the first time with her. First time I played DAI I romanced Cullen as a female human mage, but it didn't feel the same, but when I play DAI as Lavellan, I just adore it! The strong involvement with his/her past really adds to it, especially once you get to the Temple of Mythal, and if you romance Solas it's even more amazing! Haven't looked back since!

Ha! German here, hello neighbour!  :D I'll just take this opportunity to excuse myself for my playstyle should we ever run into each other again, sometimes I get reaaally bad lag and playing MP still makes me nervous as hell from time to time because I never did this before Dragon Age, so I end up running around like a headless chicken if things get too overwhelming

I do this every time! (Well, the two times I've fought a dragon in this game, I thought over a thousand hours in Skyrim made me quite an experienced dragon slayer but damn, I got my ass handed to me multiple times)

Anyway, Ghilio went to Redcliffe to save the mages and offer them an alliance. And to get Dorian. And now he's going to see how badly he can ****** off Vivienne (being a Dalish elf, Ghilio is very much against mage circles). I want to see if I can get her to leave.

Hi :D Haha I noticed your hopping against the lagging. Don't worry, MP makes me nervous too. The only MP experience I had before DA (which I started 3-4 days ago) was playing Mario Kart and that was only with people in the same room.   :D
