Restartitis struck! I can't play anything but a rogue... Dang it! Archery is just so convenient to hunt those bloody rams and fennecs and... everything. I might go with the assassin spec this time.

Ummmm... Staffs are also effective from range, and you can freeze stuff!
Today Aidan has been mostly trying to sort out the Wardens' screw-ups, getting out of the way of a Coryphy-dragon and falling into the fade.

Meh. I tried playing mage before. I hate that we are glued to the spot when casting. I just can't play anything other than rogue in this game. I have a natural affinity for them.

I know where you're coming from. I'm a natural rogue myself. I'm having a lot of fun playing as a KE this time, because you still have the range with spells, yet you can get up close and personal with the spirit blade, and even protect yourself with fade cloak. You can heal with the focus ability, but I find I don't really need it, so I didn't bother learning it. It might be fun to try some other time. If you want to give mage a shot, that might work for you.
BTW, assassin archers rock.

I must admit that an archer rogue is useful for hunting, but you can take Sera (or Cole if you re-spec him) for that.
I normally favour rogues and mages roughly equally, but this time I've enjoyed playing as all three classes. The combat feels suitably different for each, and though I do use tac cam and give orders to my squad, I mostly still control the Inquisitor. Aidan is dual wield assassin, though. I've yet to play as an archer.

Any game that allows for rogues, that's what I play. I start off with an archer, then respec to dual daggers because of the crazy DPS. I tried all the rogue specs before, but it's a tie between Tempest (Thousand Cuts is so OP) and Assassin (because Leliana approves.
)
I've been lurking in the Scuttlebutt section and apparently Corinne Kempa has been in the studio recording new lines...
Maybe they gave in and added a Leliana romance option? (jk) I suspect something to do with Divine Victoria. Or maybe we'll finally get to attend Josephine's tea party (so much WANT)

I don't know myself. I usually play a human mage in Origins. I'm playing an elf currently and I love her, but I still love my Amell most, and beat DAO the first time with her. First time I played DAI I romanced Cullen as a female human mage, but it didn't feel the same, but when I play DAI as Lavellan, I just adore it! The strong involvement with his/her past really adds to it, especially once you get to the Temple of Mythal, and if you romance Solas it's even more amazing! Haven't looked back since!
Well, my canon and favourite Warden is DW Rogue f.Cousland, so I guess it depends on the game. As for Cullen romance, you say Lavellan feels better with him? Hmm, interesting, I plan to do a Mage f.Trevelyan run for Cullen some time later, it will be fun to compare it to Lavellan pt ![]()

I like having Hawke related to the HOF in my games. Lol I think story-wise, a human noble is better suited for DAO though.
I think both Solas and Cullen look good with a Lavellen. My human mage was with Cullen romantically, but when I romanced Solas and became really close friends with Cullen as Lavellan that almost could have been a romance, it just looked so good too! It might be just how I played her, my Lavellen just seemed to mesh with everyone in her group. Even Viv adored her and gave her a lovely gift at the end of the game.

Another productive day for my super DW Tempest, Julian. Travelled to the Fallow Mire with Cassandra, Bull and Vivienne to rescue the missing Fereldan soldiers and defeat the Avvar leader. Skywatcher is now a part of the Inquisition. Then returned to Skyhold to judge Chief Movran, who was being nothing but a nuisance by catapulting innocent goats at the fortress walls. Julian was rather "nice" by sending the crazy man to Tevinter.
Julian sets out to the Hinterlands with Cassandra, Vivienne and Varric, where they left a messy trail of butchered mercenaries, bears and random Venatori (Oh my!) on the way to Valammar. Our heroes met up with Bianca and together, they bulldozed through the Carta and darkspawn to solve the red lyrium mystery. Turns out Bianca was the one, who made the mistake by providing a key to the wrong peeps. Julian and Varric were ticked off, but at least they managed to resolve things at present.
Back at Skyhold, Julian meets up with Varric and the gang for a long awaited game of Wicked Grace. Haha.. It's always amusing to see Cullen lose all of his armour to Josie.. ![]()
Next up, Julian goes on a "date" in the Western Approach...

Solas romance I'm doing now, and have mixed feelings about it... I mean, I love it so far, it feels so delicate and sweet, and really suits my character, as her personality turned out to match Solas' perfectly. But I know how it ends, of course, and every time they speak or interact otherwise, I get a little heartbreak (in advance, we might say). Also, I don't like angst and tragic love stories. I like sugar and happy endings!
But oh well... must be strong...

Try both! We can never get enough of Cullen imo. Lol
I found it to be pretty good despite the ending. I had gained high friendship with all my companions, so when my lone Lavellan headed to her room at the party after the final battle, she turned to see everyone bowing and bidding her goodnight. She smiled knowing she was not alone, woke up to a new day and her face held a determined look, like she WILL find him! Then I had her do Jaws of Hakkon with Cass, Cole and Dorian in place of Solas as her trusty mage, and it just felt so perfect as she focused on a new mission and tried to get past what happened! That's how I roleplayed it.

As for Solas, we'll see. Idk how I will roleplay that part yet. First things first, get to it... not that I'm in a hurry ![]()
Anyway, back on topic... after closing the Breach and kissing Solas for the first time, sweet little Lavellan decided... and you'll never guess this... to go hunting silverite for her new armor! But every armor begins with a schematic, so first into the Hissing Wastes she went. There, quiet as a mouse, avoiding everything that moved, she made her way to the shop in the middle of the desert, and it all went nice and well until she was ambushed by two hungry gurns! Two lvl 16 gurns for my sweet little lvl 11 Lavellan on Hard!
Yeeeep.
Still, she made it out alive (if barely). Then she continued her journey, limping and bleeding all over the place. Then, in the shop, while she was browsing the wares, along came the spiders and tried to bite her head off. Her limping and bleeding intensified after that... Luckily, her mission accomplished, she could run straight back to Skyhold to safely tend to her wounds.
But, that was only the beginning! Now she needed that silverite, a lot of it! So she tried her luck in the Frostback Basin first. However, after encountering a lvl 20 lurker, it was decided that perhaps the idea of coming here was a bit rash... Emprise du Lion seemed like a better bet, and so on she went.
And so there she is now, establishing camps in Emprise du Lion at lvl 12! Limping and bleeding became a usual routine for her already... I also fear for her regarding her addiction to healing potions. Surely drinking so much of that stuff must be unhealthy! But, she is getting her silverite, oh yes. My sweet little Lavellan is nothing if not dedicated.
(I wonder if that's what a Nightmare playthrough would feel like. Somehow I suspect a Nightmare playthrough would be easier
)
Also, here are some pictures.

That happened to me after I reinstalled my computer. As long as you logged into the account that has the DLC, it should pick it up, and also you need to download the last patch they made for it, since it seems that without it, the DLC won't be recognized.
I am dl'ing the missing DLC's from my account on the old BSN site. What's the latest patch and how do I tell if I have it?

Re-edit: OMG! Now DAO won't open again, and the only "helpful" error message I get is, "You need to re-install." Yeah, I did that already and it still didn't work. This is getting ridiculous. Maybe I should just keep playing DAI and forget this crap.

Today I continued with my alternate timeline where I helped the Templars and disbanded them. Now in Skyhold, I talked to Vivienne. I tried to annoy her by telling her I didn't need her opinion because I didn't care what she thought. SHE APPROVED OF MY COMMENT, #WHAT.
I'm about to meet Hawke again. I wonder if this time it will be possible to make her look more like my Hawke (I have 2 Hawkes, one M, one F, but the one linked to this Inquisition playthrough is a female XD).
So, instead of going back to Skyhold we went to the Storm Coast instead and closed a few darkspawn holes... and then met up with Bull's qun'ari contact. This is the moment I've been dreading for the whole PT, and in the end I played the decision both ways to see which I liked better. Sacrificing the Chargers sucks. I don't see any merit in it at all.... okay, an alliance with the qun'ari. So what? it ain't worth it. Bull is unhappy, and then later he's not at all himself. And Rocky, Grim, Stitches, Skinner, Dalish and Krem are gone. How can anyone feel good about choosing this option? Blech.
I felt terrible when sacrificing the Chargers, but at the time, I felt that's I needed to do. I didn't want to anger the Qunari and start a war that could lead to even more chaos. And I thought maybe the Chargers would still survive or something. But it was sad, sad. And the Bull romance is bittersweet, something feels awkward when you let them die. Buuuh ![]()
My fav Inquisitor is a female Lavellan. Her story and romance actually adds to the main plot in a way that makes it feel canon to me, while the other romances are like breaks in the game for fun and fluff.
I'd like to try a female Lavellan Inquisitor for the sake of the story. Yes, some classes and romance options seem to add something special to the story and are better intertwined with it, they feel more natural, more meant to be.
In DAO I was a guy, flirted with Morrigan and Zevran but didn't care much for romance. I regretted having chosen to be a male mage, I spent half of the game wishing I were a female human noble for a chance to become Alistair's queen (I'm working on that on a new playthrough, ahem XD). My poor mage boy didn't have that chance ~unrequited love~
In DA2 I romanced Anders and I got that feeling that this time I had chosen the romance that had more to do with the actual story. It was great (also sad, terrible, tragic, frustrating, painful) and I didn't regret it.
In Inquisition I romanced Iron Bull. I loved it, it was a lot of fun, but I'm tempted to be a female Lavellan next time, because of the special things it can add to the main story.
I've never played an elf. I always play human mages. I feel awkward being a warrior in this human noble DAO playthrough I'm starting. WHERE IS MY STAFF, WHAT DO I DO.
Maybe I'll try not to make my Lavellan a mage. Just maybe. Not sure. Being a mage feels right for the story, too...
I know where you're coming from. I'm a natural rogue myself.
Oh, teach me. I can't play rogues T_T
In DAO I liked to control Leliana and got to understand the logic behind, but when trying to control other rogues in the other games, I feel very fragile and don't know how to move. Not born to be a rogue myself.

Yeah I consider my female Lavellan my canon Inquisitor. She romanced Solas, sided with the Mages and gave the Wardens a second chance.
For DAO, I was a sweet Amell who unintentionally attracted Alistair's attention, but had to tell him I was in love with Zevran. Later it wouldn't matter after I spared Loghain and talked Alistair and Anora into marrying each other. Zevran stayed by my side to the very end.
In DA2 my female Mage Hawke romanced Fenris and had Anders attracted to her too, though I never showed interest. I sided with the Templars after seeing too much blood magic and became Viscountess.
And I know what you mean. Being a Mage first makes the other classes feel awkward. I managed to beat DAO a second time as a Warrior Noblewoman who fell in love with Alistair. Then I tried an Female City Elf Rouge and she romanced no one after all she'd been through with men in her past. Hawke is always a Mage. Too many enemies to kill. AOE is quick and deadly! My Lavellen has been both a Mage and Rogue, but I fell madly in love with being an Assassin Archer and it's my new DAI fav!

Apparently I was already at 1.05 and double installing the patch broke the game....again.
So I have re-uninstalled but for some reason the file folders are still there. And I have two of them, one for DAO and another for DAO-UE. The config utility is missing the product key (which I have no way to add, as far as I can tell) and the updater service can't find itself and therefore doesn't work. This thing is really FUBAR'D and I don't even know why. I'm going to blame Origin. ![]()
