@spork: Yeah, I played on normal at first just to get through the story because I didn't want to drive myself insane. Figured since I have done just about everything I can do, it was time for a challenge - hehe. And yeah, I totally trashed my very first character after seeing that she looked like a bit of a disaster in the actual game, so I understand starting over (except I'd put in a fair bit of time before I decided I couldn't stand it anymore).
What Did You Do Today (in the DA 'verse) ? .... oops ;)

@Atreiya: It took... Maker, I don't even know how many runs of ME3 before I tried insanity, and actually it ended up being wayyyyy more fun than frustrating. i had a blast with it, now that i think about it... except for the Rannoch finale and those three geth primes. Like the three great bears in the Hinterlands, but magnified, heh. And yeah, I'm much happier making goofy-looking elves than somewhat-not-goofy-looking humans. They seem to turn out better for some reason.

@spork: Great bears - hahaha. Yes, that reminds me of how I seemed to be a bear magnet the other day. Actually, it was more like a bear-and-mabari magnet. I have no idea where all the critters came from, but several bears and mabaris made a beeline for my group for whatever reason.

Lyell took Dorian to meet his dad. What people can do to their kids. All Lyell can do is shake his head and thank the Maker for his own shifty, whacked-out family. But seeing Dorian like that, all fired up made his pulse pound and he had to go stand behind a table.
Back at Skyhold and we had kisses. Sweet little ones, except for that I don't think the lips touched at all. Come on Bioware - if Spork can have Cole's hat then I want sexy back. (Not a sexy back but bring sexy back to the game).
Anyway, Dorian's cooking something up in that scheming, gorgeous head of his for future fun and shenanigans. Can't wait

@atreiya: Oh those mabari. Everywhere! Too bad we couldn't capture one, and have a war table mission to find a trainer
... and yet, I remember going back to the storm coast -- which was, last time I was there, filled with bears: as in, take two steps meet a bear -- on a quest to impress some dalish elves, and they disappeared. I think the game just toys with us, heh.

Never found any fade-touched silverite. Fade-touched obsidian (3 guard on hit) yes, but not silverite. Maybe this time, for my archer.

Silverite only shows up in Emprise du Lion. There are a couple of nodes in Alphonse's passage. I'm still trying to get it. Silverite, regular or fade touched, is really an awesome material. It removes the class restrictions on armor. Warrior armor on a rogue? Yes please! Silverite is the mythril of dragon age. (it's probably the inspiration for it anyway.)
Edit: fade touched obsidian has two garanteed spots, both in Hinterlands. FT silverite is random.

Wow I didn't know that about silverite.
I had a crapload of it in my last game too. Does that work on the dragon armor, too?

Probably. Looks like you have some testing to do! ![]()

Heh, indeed
...thanks for the info, though. I'll go check it out right now.
EDIT: Okay, so it appears that the silverite has to be in the primary armor slot to remove class restrictions. It will not remove race restrictions, such as dwarf-only armor, nor it will it remove the inquisitor-only restriction on dragon-armor.... but it was pretty cool, I can make a "sturdy vanguard mail" -- which is a heavy armor -- set for my little elf mage, and it looks badass. Sleeveless leather mage-type-long-coat over silverite mail armor. Sweet. Now I wanna play a mage again, heh.

Arrgh! The 'nursery seeds' quest is bugged. Over three games I am always missing the third common herb. It's either crystal grace or deathroot, but crystal grace is rare. This is annoying. That quest is cluttering my journal.

Got the fade touched silverite! Woot! There are two variations of it: one gives 5 guard and the other has a 10% chance of chain lightning. Sweet! I got both!

Having taken a rare trip back to Skyhold, Sullastine was persuaded by her advisors that the Western Approach was stable enough to begin the assault on Adamant. Tired of fishing for corpses and finding water in the desert, she agreed that laying siege to a giant old keep full of brainwashed Wardens and a demon army sounded like challenge far more worth her time and efforts. So ready or not, the Inquisition marched!
As you may or may not recall, Sullastine and her team had previously uncovered that Cory had sent Captain Bialar Crais into the desert to con the Wardens into summoning and binding demons for him. The catch was that the summoned Wardens also made themselves mind slaves to Cory. So it was like a two armies for the price of one deal. Great for Cory, not so great for the Wardens who slaughtered half their number in the ritual and lost the other half to mind slavery. Obviously, Crais missed his calling as used car salesman.
Well, Josie was great! She managed to wrangle some excellent trebuchets out of the local potentate and we used them to stick some big fiery balls up Blightey's Taint. We also punched some holes in the keep's walls and rammed through the gates. That's when the all the excitement began with a big fight all over the walls with lots of demons. Did I mention the demons? It culminated in a big scene with Crais and the Warden Commander Claret who made a big fuss about the lemon deal she had been sold.
That's when it all started to go so wrong.
See Cory seemed to have anticipated things might be made a muck of and let Crais bring in the pet Archdemonling ... and summon a real big pride demon and the battle was on ... and off ... and on as various members of the crew got sprayed with red dragonfire and flayed with electric boogaloo demon whips. In the end, they were a pretty shabby looking bunch, but Sullastine was worst off with her guts hanging out all over the battlements. Cass tried to stitch her spleen back in with some elfroot, but that's when Sullastine got her big idea! She decided to try a riff on the little dragon researcher's lure. She told Cass to let her guts hang out and stuck that extra Phoenix feather into her cap ... she did not call it macaroni. Then she ran off along the battlements screaming like a madwoman while the others followed.
It worked beautifully! The dragon followed her all the way up and ignored everyone else. Of course, once they lured it up there ... they had no idea how to actually kill it, but with things like these, you take it one step at a time. It was too bad there was no hidden supply cache of healing potions up there, but Sullastine squared herself to lose several other major internal organs in the battle to come. But that's when the dragon threw out a curveball and stopped for a drink of Claret instead. Then it spat her out and went looking for the cheese course. This caused the already overstressed battlements to collapse under everyone's weight. And as they all fell headlong toward the ground, Sullastine did A THING with her mark and they fell out of space/time instead.
(Does anyone else find the difficulty to be somewhat uneven at times? I am the last one to claim to be a video game virtuoso, but after sleepwalking through Normal, I am playing this game on Hard. 90% of the time, I sleepwalk through this too and think maybe I should be playing tougher. Then, I hit isolated scenarios that just seem ramped up if difficulty all out of proportion to everything else.)

Yep. I found one after killing the Frostback dragon at the dock and the other one I forget where. Never got the fade-touched silverite one.
I started a 5th playthrough yesterday. At the moment, I can't come up with what to post about the playthrough to make it...enjoyable. Hahaha. I might later. I have the whole playthrough planned out. I will try to post something later before the football games start at 1'oclock

The other fade touched obsidian is in a house with a locked door in Redcliffe. You need the deft hands, fine tools perk to get it.
FT silverite is awesome! One gives 5 guard, the other gives a 10% chance of chain lightning. It's pretty brutal. Makes weapons and armor look gorgeous too. Combine with great bear hide and you get a sweet black and silver look. Goes well with the Helm of the Inquisitor.

I used the fade-touched obsidian for my weapon when I did my nightmare run as a knight enchanter. The +3 guard made a world of difference

This game really needs a character remake option ala Fallout New Vegas. Play with your character a bit, then when you leave the starting area you get a chance to make adjustments/changes.
