Is it just me, or does the Winter Palace mission take really long? Sweet little Lavellan went to Halamshiral today to save the empress, and spent, like, ages there.

I suppose it's possible to rush through the whole thing, but if you do it the way you're supposed to it takes a few hours.

I got all secrets and all coins this time! *is very proud*

Meanwhile, Cullen in Skyhold is busy calibrating the trebuchet. Again.

I'm waiting until Saturday to do that mission precisely because I want to get all of those. I want to know if Leliana says anything special if we get all the dirt we can (I suspect no, but don't tell me!). :D

Woot what a blast!  Love the Emprise Du Lion.  Love love love.  Anyways part two of 'collecting materials for crafting in the Emprise plus doing quests on the way.'.  And...well did more of the quests I would have wanted to do later then I was wanting to.   <_<   Buuuuuuuuttt still started the Prisoner quest, the wiping out the Templar Lieutenants, the 'taking back the Lion' quest and mama's ring.  Anyways my bow...is effective to varrying degrees...but I do need a new one.  Fortanatly though I found a Behemouth killing method.  Haste + Mark of the Rift + Mark of Death.  Boom.

Anyways in the end my final count for tier 3 metals is 96 Dawnstone.  42 Silverrite.  36 Everite.  And 4 Nevarite...you think I have enough? :P

Something funny did happen though.  When I was fighting the Red Templars had two Archers in a bunch, and I used Mark of the Rift on them.  Well they were killed quite rapidly and I was like 'well that was a waste of a Mark' and then suddenly I hear a gloating, snearing, highly aristocratic voice, going 'Nextime maybe you should use tactics!'  now it wasn't my party, there were no Red Templars left...my only conflusion is that the miners were taunting me.  Oh well.

Anyways up next...may go off and kill a Dragon, and then talking to people, and then crafting...lots and lots of crafting.  Also I need to fing a tier 3 Sword Schematic for Cassandra, and then I also need more Spider glands I think.  Hmmm.

The other amusing thing that happened today (hope people don't mind the second post) but I was outside...trying to ind Blackwall's Grey Warden Momentos and led to that one 'watcher place'  Well I get the key and it was all like...well wait...what is that.  is this the...oh yeah this is that one place...nope not doing this now.  *starts running away*  'after all that place is full of Darkspawn, and they have gone on steroids since the fifth blight...******* of Darkspawn...yes ****** is now an official measurement!'

First I played a little MP, trying to level up my Keeper, but after some runs I got a headache, so I changed to SP.

Bruce tried to kill the Stormrider again. First try didn't go well.

Spoiler

Annoyed, Bruce went back to Skyhold, to get the stuff from the last few war tabe missions. He saved Clan Lavellan and got a new mount~.

Then he talked to Leliana, who just had gotten a letter from the late Divine. So they traveled to Valance, where Bruce had to stop Leliana from killing a sister. Fortunately Leliana listened to him and let the sister go. Back in Skyhold they talked about it and Leli is finally at peace with herself.  :)

Then he tought about judging Florianne, but he couldn't decide a fate for her, because either Cole will disapprove and Solas approve, or the other way around, but it's impossible to make them both happy. (Bruce is a non-believer, so sending her to the monastery isn't possible  )

He tought about going to Emprise du Lion, but first he wanted to get that Dragon skull in the Exalted Plains, so back to the Stormrider on his new mount.

Sadly, that fight didn't go well either.

Stormy: You look yummy~

Try using electrical resistance potions, rock armor, mighty offence tonic for Bull, upgrade regeneration and equip in on 1 mage (or archer rogue) and 1 dd rogue (or warrior), the idea being that those in close combat usually stick together so regeneration will work on both (same for mages/archers). Watch your staffs, don't bring them if they deal electrical dmg. Also, barrier and fade step are your friends :)

I spot Viv, Bull and Dorian... Hmnmn...

Do you have Cole? Does he have Mark of Death? It's really useful when you're fighting troublesome dragons (quick death means less damage to party).

AND STAY OUT OF WATER. Sorry, I had to caps lock this one, even though I'm pretty sure you already know that xD

Sera rocks Leaping Shot. She's also nice screenshot material o 3o

I went through prologue with Deo remake. I named her Dao, why not *looks at her DAO slowly downloading*

Yeah... I'm installing DAO. I'm pissed since Origin wants me to pay for Stone Prisoner and Leliana's Song... which I already have. At least I can download those from BSN. Ugh...

Also I slowly make sliders' library of my characters. Boring job, but I know it can come usful *speaks from experience*

Just completed the Hissing Wastes and Emprise du Lion. A quick recap.

Julian barely used a mount while running a marathon the vast nightly desert with Cassandra, Vivienne and Bull. But they were productive in clearing out the Venatori, discovering the Dwarven tombs and slaying the Sandy Howler. However, in one of the tombs, Julian lit the wrong veilfire pillars twice causing a few angry demons to emerge. Vivienne and Bull weren't impressed, and Cassandra smacked some sense onto her boyfriend's head after the ordeal was done.

Moving onto Emprise du Lion, Julian successfully liberated the area from the red Templars, saved the townspeople and defeated all three high dragons with Cassandra, Bull and Solas. Michel de Chevin was appointed as an agent and Mistress Poulin makes up for her mistakes by rebuilding the town.

Right now, Julian is exploring the Frostback Basin. So far, the battles are fun and crazy. Stacking Solas' firestorm and lightning cage with Vivienne's wall of fire and topping it with Julian's mark of the rift makes one heck of a light show! The hakkonites never saw this storm coming...  B)

Hmm~ that means I have to send Bruce to the Hissing Wastes. (I need Amrita Vein and Felandaris to upgrade Regeneration & Electrical Restiance). Bruce uses a staff with electrical damage, but it has a Superb Sprit Rune equiped.  (I wished it would be possible to craft a staff that deals spirit damage  :? ) The only one with Fade Step is Dorian and the only one with Barrier is Vivienne.

Yeah, Dorian because Horror deals spirit damage, Viv for her healing Focus skill, Bull because....DRAGONS!

Surely I have Cole (my baby), but I'm not sure if I gave him Mark of Death (I unlocked it, but idk if it's on his skill bar).

BRUCE DOES! THE OTHERS DON'T! xDD

Hmm, so Cole, Viv and Bull? (Blackwall's defense is so much better, but Bull gets approval  <_< )

I prefer to use Mark of Rift at the beginning of my dragon fights since it slows her down and deals nice damage if combined with MoD. Well, addictional spirit damage is nice (talking about Dorian now), but maybe someone with Dragon Slaying Rune would be more effective? I don't know what builds you use so those talks are seriously based only on my guesses.

MoD is... well, instant death, but only if you're the one to use it. I don't think AI is able to handle this skill >.>

So... Bruce, Cole, Viv and Bull? Might be nice, if you keep them out of water o 3o I know Bull's approval is important, but let's be serious, at this point you most likely have it maxed out xD

I'd suggest keeping Dorian and giving him Barrier too. BTW yes, dragon-slaying runes are great! Oh, and make sure Bull has skills that give him guard.

Dwarf Warrior on nightmare...

Started in the Hinterlands with the team of Varric, Vivienne and Iron Bull with the same strategy as before consisting of weaving between enemies and picking the fights that they know they can win. Derek decided to do an all out assault on the Templar base. Everyone was fully equipped with rock potions and ventured out to destroy the Templar base and protect the refugees. And it worked! ^_^ so they all decided to follow the road to the farm. Dennet wasn't giving much assistance and refused to give horses until some favours were done. Derek wasn't too pleased with this and decided to do a bit of horse racing instead. It turns out Derek is a natural rider as he is undefeated in 3 races :D. Derek decided to retire from the jockey profession while his luck holds out but at least he has something to fall back on if the herald thing doesn't work out.

Collecting shards was the next job where Varric and Vivienne decided to talk about Orlesian dining etiquette (the farm environment must have made them think about food, I guess).  Vivienne told Varric that using the wrong fork could have drastic consequences in Orlais like getting stabbed. Derek wasn't sure if this was sarcastic hyperbole but it could be possible as it is Orlais after all. Varric was in talkative mood today as he then had conversation with Iron Bull about the Ben Hassrath immediately after.

Killed some demon wolves in the hills and finally located the elusive mosaic piece (first time I've seen this so it must've been fixed with one of the patches. Hopefully I should get the full collection this playthrough). Derek also guided Druffy back to the farm but avoided the rift on the way back. He was only level 6 so I thought it was best to avoid it altogether. Went to the farmer for a reward and he gave... nothing <_<. It's a prize winning druffalo and the farmer didn't even offer gold or items, what a cheapskate!

Varric was his chatty self again and talked to Vivienne about Free March cities. Then the crew found a Carta coat not too far away which brought back nostalgic memories for Derek. He would have equipped the coat straight away but it was rogue restricted so Varric is currently playing the Carta dwarf role.

Derek decided to go kill the High Dragon that was patrolling the Hinterlands next (Okay maybe not but he wanted to :P). All the bandits at the entrance of the dragon area was cleared and this boosted Derek's level to 7. Varric stealthily walked by the dragon to collect some items but in particular the fade touched obsidian.

Derek's still got a lot to do in the Hinterlands before attempted to do anything else. Mages, Rifts, Shards and Mercenaries are still on the checklist.

Still haven't died yet although Varric is making up for it. Probably give Varric the fade-touched gear to give him better survival odds. At the moment, seeing Varric standing in a fight has been a rarity so far -_-

Decided to take care of some Venatori in the Hinterlands. Easy Peasy, right? We get there and find that the Venatori have been attacked by an Elite Bear. So I figure, ok, guys, let's kill the bear, then mop up these Venatori. Another Elite Bear decides to come along and kill two of the three remaining Venatori. We kill one of the bears, and the last Venatori (Venatorus?) is hanging on with an almost empty health bar, when a regular bear joins the fray and wipes him out. The Iron Bull takes out the bears with backup from two mages and my archer Inquisitor.

Spoiler

For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain because today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic!

The only time I had serious fail on dragon slaying was the first one (Frosty) I went up against on NM. Once I added Cass though, she was all I needed. B) Not sure what level I was, probably 13-14. I was KE, and also had Dorian and I don't remember who else. Plus Cass. :D  I had another one on Hard where everyone but Blackwall wiped while fighting the Ravager, and he had about 2 hit points left at the end. For some reason, she was a lot easier on NM (probably due to KE'ing).

I still have not found the Mighty Offense potion...

I found that one for the first time my last game. There is a cabin on one of the cliffs on the Storm Coast that you need to find a locked door in. After that, random mage guy (tough fight!) will appear (randomly) and you can loot his key after you kill him. The recipe is behind the locked door.

I went through prologue with Deo remake. I named her Dao, why not *looks at her DAO slowly downloading*

Me too. I had to manually install Witch Hunt, Golems, Leliana's Song, and Darkspawn Chronicles. Not so much because I wanted to play them, but because I needed the reward items in my game. :P

A few screen caps of Julian's adventures in the Frostback Basin so far.

Spoiler

I'll be taking more pics of his adventures soon, including his snazzy Templar armour. B)

One thing while later visiting Val Royeaux, I heard a few nobles gossiping about the clerics leaning towards Cassandra to be elected Divine. Cassandra was startled and quickly walked away pretending she didn't hear the rumours. Then another noble couple mentioned about Leliana being strongly considered. I still have to finish the main story, but I'm a bit surprised at hearing this tie breaker. It'll be interesting to see who gets elected in the end.
