Finished playthrough #14.

Now I will prepare for my speedrun. I will have to do some meditating and some strength training to master this speedrun. Hahaha. I have done a playthrough in 17 hours, so I should be able to beat that time easily.

Can Bruce join? Tho I think he'll only borrow Solas's tea, he tries to steer clear of alcohol after Bull's weird drink made him wake up below the table...

Sure! Although I'm pretty sure with all of us drunk Bruce will give up and drink as well. No one can stay sober and sane at the same time with all of us royally drunk.

-snip-

Dis mabari looks strange... o.O

But lets be serious, your Lavellan could use this wolf as a mount.

-sniiiiip-

You took unbearable option! I love you! >u<

No need to sell Skyhold! Liam has Trevelyan money backing him. He's willing to give to a friend (especially a heartbroken one). First round is on him!

He will not be buying Sun Blonde Vint for everyone though. He pays for that for himself alone (again long story about memories).

OnT: I'll be back later with actual goings-on from Liam's PT.

Well, I was asked to buy second round and since I see everyone picking expensive drinks... I'm getting kinda scared. My Lavellan isn't really wealthy elf o 3o

I know! I'll ask Bull about that drink of his! Everyone will be knocked out after first sip. *evil laugh*

-snip-

Those loot containers >.> Some time ago I was walking around Oasis and found one when jumping from waterfall, just above entrance to Solasan Temple. I was shocked o.o

Lurkers... ugh... Good that your Adaar looks strong. 'Oh, a bee stung me'... Sorry.

You're not alone. I'm a completionist. I have one completed playthrough, one that's about 2/3 done and another that I started and got to Skyhold. I don't envisage a playthrough lasting less than 200 hours. Reading things like "I have to get X power in order to advance the story" and "I have done a playthrough in 17 hours" makes no sense to my mind. It just goes to show how many ways there are of playing this game...

Meh I am not a completionist and a lot of the reason I did not do more play throughs then 2 so far is because I was without the game or a means to play it for like 2 months, I would probably be on my third, or maybe 4th playthrough now if that were the case, but still....14?! I love Inquisition to death but that does sound a little extreme, especially in under a year.

That just reinforces my point. There's a whole spectrum of ways to play the game. It seems that themikefest and I are at opposite ends of that spectrum and you are somewhere in between. :)

Really it depends on the character, I am trying to role play more and more the more I experience the genre.   :P  Not do what want but do what is right for the character.  Like romancing Cullen instead of Bull.

Edit:  And other things that I established throughout the game and backstory.  Like Kara's exploration habits, her want to hunt, and help out people and thus do quests all flows naturally from her character arc.  She was big into hunting, liked playing in the outdoors to escape her oppressive family, which also led to a dislike of nobility and a preference for the plight of the common man.  Thus she will do those quests.  Ben did not care as much, sure he would stop to help, but he would not always go out of his way.  And did not much like hunting at all.

In another way too I have mentioned I really love this game.  Though sometimes its hard for me to quantify exactly why I love it so much.  Its like ME 2 in that way, they both have some serious flaws and some serious annoyances yet the whole complete package is hella enjoyable.

I think I'm RPing more myself in this game than I have previously. It's the first one where I really considered each of my characters' backstories before starting. Tressa Lavellan was quite like me but Aidan Trevellyan is a believing Andrastian and that's not going to waver. I can't bring myself not to explore everywhere and do all the quests, though! :D

Agreed. I can pick plenty of holes in the game but somehow I am finding it the most satisfying DA game yet.

To all

I am retired, so doing that number of playthroughs is not hard with all the extra time I have. The longest playthrough I've done was 132 hours. That was my first playthrough and I didn't do everything. The playthrough that I did complete everything including the dlc took about 122 hours.

To put the one playthrough that I did in 17 hours into perspective, I've done the ME trilogy in about the same amount of time. I have played these games enough times to know some short cuts, for ME anyways.

Everything I've done is on a ps3.

Just retired my dwarf archer Alexis from playthrough 6 & after around 140 hours. She has probably been the most enjoyable character I've played & will be a tough act to follow!

See Kara is a atheist.  :P  But yeah, I have grown more used to and more loving the power of role playing as I have gone on.  Though granted I really do love the arc I created for Abigail Shepard.  But yeah, Kara was supposed to fall for Dorian, and then go running to Bull...she ended up running to Cullen instead.

Tressa started as a wavering believer in the Dalish gods and was an atheist by the end. She's the one who is like me, except that I never really believed... Aidan is an Andrastian as it seemed wrong to make a character to romance Cassandra who didn't share her faith. I'm having fun having him say things about religion that I personally wouldn't say normally.

I wasn't saying anything bad. I was just letting folks know how I'm able to have many playthroughs. I do enjoy DAI and all the other Bioware games I play. They have replay value which is a big plus for me.

Another reason is that there aren't any games at the moment that catch my interest. I have preordered the Uncharted Trilogy for the ps4 and will preorder Fallout 4.

Agh I still need to edit pictures. Lol. I'm commenting again.

Redcliffe Castle was a blast, but, like the typical tourist, I took way too many pictures.  Ummmh, up to 25 and here's this

71SHkfd.png

Working backwards down the list, I think I owe the developer.  Right.  Off to make some loot.

Here's target practice before I left home

Spoiler

Two things:

1: Liliana looks more creepy in the PC version. She looks okishly detailed for the 360 version but I can still tell she was ****ed with. It did sound like they did cruel **** to her too by injecting stuff in her.

2:I....ehhhh....never been there. I still have Ulliah Mint Tooth in Haven so I can see what's there. It's hard to figure out what will take you where at times in the game. Last time I took a random gander was in the Arbor Wilds with Malaioniss. This was my result:

DAImov_95_zpsozmzlh99.gif?t=1435272326

I mean seriously what the heck? It makes me wonder if this "elven magic" is everywhere in the game. Lol.

Do you mean Nightmare in SP, or Perilous in MP? I haven't played on Nightmare yet (I'm playing on Hard with Bruce, the next PT will be Nightmare) but I went twice into Perilous, didn't survive a single run.  v___v *needs more training*

I apologize for not being specific. I probably should of said "the people I have teamed up with on MP on Perlious and the second difficulty probably never played single player on NIGHTMARE difficulty and probably played the single player mode on it's easiest difficulty setting when I played single player on NIGHTMARE being the single player modes hardest difficulty". I have noticed that on Perlious and the second difficulty you really need to play smart and effective and not rush through everything. I have survived a couple games of perlious and roughly five to ten games of the second difficulty setting. Frankly i feel like I would survive more on both modes if I get people with better connections and people not rushing through everything. Like one game I had a Isabella player constantly rushing through everything on the games second difficulty and got herself downed repeatedly while I stuck close to my team-mates being a Keeper and a Katari I believe while I was playing my templar. On one game of Perlious I had a Katari constantly rushing through things and saying "COME HERE" or "FOLLOW ME!" He kept running by archers and other guys when I was playing my archer I kept getting downed by people he was running by. It made me mad. I was surprised we won.

Guess who also has a mirror that looks like that?

Spoiler

More like insanity defense.   Though nothing is more annoying than when she cuts off banter.

I know Xenon had that mirror since DA 2. I myself hate the inquisition officer interupting banter too. It's like I was in the middle of a good conversation between Cassandra and Dorian about Trevnitir life and opinions on tevintir life and how Dorian sees tevintirs being similar to the seekers but it gets cut off by "Nothing to report sir". I am like damn.

Speaking of cool conversations I still wish I could of figured out the outcome of that chess match between Solas and Iron Bull. Iron Bull was starting to make a comeback by taking a-lot of Solas's pieces with his queen but Solas realized Iron Bull is using his queen as his main pice which was getting Iron Bull a bit nervous but Iron Bull retorted by saying "we shall see" because at times as he proved and dictated to Solas "looks can be decieveing".

Wait....so I'm recovering Xenon's stuff?  Why do Merrill and Xenon have the same mirror?

If you ever played the dalish prologe in DAO you will know that eluvians can be cursed. If I remember DA 2 Xenon himself does mention he got a cursed eluvian as well which made him immortal. However unlike your warden or Merril Xenon is a happy camper about being a cursed demon old guy and jokes about that fact. And yes there are more than one eluvian mirrors. Morrigan doesn't have the only one. I am surprised we haven't met any more eluvian owners yet besides Merril, Morrigan, and Xenon.

So, I finally finished my guy's play through. A recap in photos.

The Frostback Basin:

Spoiler

A stop in Val Royeaux.

Spoiler

Marching on to the Arbor Wilds.

Spoiler

The final battle and victory!

Spoiler

There you have it! I enjoyed Julian's story and guiding him through his leadership. Plus he was easy on the eyes, especially during his romance with Cassandra. Speaking of Cassandra, she was elected Divine. Bittersweet!. However, when Jules talked to Cassandra later in Skyhold, she begged to go adventuring with him. He was more than happy to have her at his side again.

I'm taking a break from playing DAI, but I'll still be around reading and posting.

Congrats on finishing the playthrough. I admit I have been following your playthrough for quite a while because I always read the spoilers and like the pictures and your inquisitor. I just cannot remember what difficulty the playthrough was on. What difficulty were you playing on with Julian?

I'm outta likes again and of course can't multiquote on my phone.... But I was gonna say something about how Cassie is just crushing her inquisitors

Well you can always send a text version. Lol. Just say "Sporkfu likes this post" or something. Lol. j/k. Anyway I am sure anyone would be happy to know you tried to like something Sporkfu. It's the though that counts.

Ah, yeah, probably.
I agree that you have to play "smart" in Threatening and Perilous. I went there with my Lvl 20 Virtuoso and didn't survive a single run. In the run I lived the longest, it was only because I kept spamming Barrier like an idiot. Didn't even have the time to use Battle of the Bands (increases attack speed) or Sing-Along (gives HoK for the party). And the team I went with was good and didn't rush. We cleared everything before we proceeded to another zone. (but Inferno dragons are not easy enemies...)

I did. The Dalish Origin is my first and till now only finished DAO PT (I didn't want to wait any longer to play DA2 and DAI  ) As far as I know, Xenon made a deal with a witch, who gave him immortality, but he forgot to ask for eternal youth, which is why he looks how he looks.

Oh! and I just noticed something.

Guess who also has a mirror that looks like that?

Uq2HzNB.jpg

Xenon's Eluvian has Red Lyrium growing out of it. So wouldn't that mean, we recover Merrill's Eluvian? (her Eluvian is corrupted, but doesn't have Red Lyrium)

----

Edit: Bruce is still in the Emerald Graves. He talked to Fairbanks about the Freemen and told him that they're dead. Then Clara told Bruce, that Fairbanks may be of noble birth, so went to investigate that. He did found stuff supporting her claims, but he gave the evidence to Fairbanks, because he doesn't want Fairbanks to have to deal with all that Orlaisan mask stuff.

After that he went on bear hunt.

tumblr_nqkrathfLv1rr7n8lo2_1280.png

And when the forest was safe again, he went to Chateau D'Onterre, together with Sera, Cassandra and Cole. They're still inside, looking for clues of what happened in the villa.

Please let Cabot know what your favorite Bottle of Thedas is anyway, just in case. We'll keep a stool on hand for you.

Marcus, being a Templar, will start with Aqua Magus (Fine spirits infused with a bit of refined lyrium. Potentially fatal if ingested in quantity) but will soon switch over to the Antivan Sip-Sip (Careful, this one's mean. Attic-raised mean. Popular among highborn who wish to seem dangerous, but more at home grasped by the neck by those who actually are).

But... but... Solas romance, then Cas romance... I don't know if my heart can take it.
I... I think I'll need to get myself royally drunk after that.

I sort of ended up switching between angsty and fluffy bunny. It helps in the heartbreak dept if you don't get the angsty ones back to back.  In order: Solas, Cullen, Blackwall, Dorian, Bull, Cass, Dorian again. Next up is Solas (probably) again, then I don't know who. Maybe Cullen again (for fluffy bunniness after Solas heartbreak). :P

That's the one you get if you forgive her in Andraste's name, right? I don't know what happens with the other options but I pick Leliana for that one. I like that it gives her time to really think about what she did and what she might do in the future to atone/make up for it. Dying/suiciding just seems like the easy way out.

Malia Hawke update. She finally met the Grey Warden that Varric told her about. In exchange for his Wardeny maps, he wants her to help him break someone out of the Circle. Yay. Just what she doesn't need, so she's been avoiding him since that initial meeting. In the meantime, she killed a bunch of Tal'Vashoth and met the Arishok; explored a ruin in search of an escaped killer (who happened to be a magistrate's son <_<) and killed him too; she turned in a bunch of special crafting supplies to Sol in the Gallows; and she tracked down a half-elf boy named Feynriel and helped him make his way to the Dalish. She's also been spending a lot of time with the broody elf who, it turns out, speaks a mean qunari.
