Adventures in Hightown, with Malia Hawke.

Varric heard that Bartrand was back in the city, so he and Malia paid a visit.

Spoiler

Other than guards who attacked on sight and the suspicious cheese wheel, they found nothing until they went upstairs. Apparently the idol that Bartrand ran off with drove him mad and he took out his crazies on the staff. :o Malia convinced Varric to get Bartrand some help. [Forgot to bring Anders for this one....oops.]

Next, Malia went to see Fenris, who was celebrating a different sort of victory, and defeat.
Spoiler

 Melts

Malia then followed up on the Templar Emeric's lead, and dragged Aveline along this time just in case they found something. Well, they found something all right.

Spoiler

Malia decided she didn't believe a word duPuis said, and chased him around the house until finally she was able to kill him. [I do like Varric's reaction later if you let duPuis go and then use him later to find the foundry; I just wanted to hug Varric after that. But, better dead than...er, red? Ok, nevermind]

She also got in some shopping.
Spoiler

The last mansion belonged to the Harriman family, whom Sebastian had finally discovered was behind the murder of his family.

Last stop: the Chantry, for an encounter with an old not-really-a-friend. <_<

Last night I was flip flopping between DAO and DAI. i got roughly 120 more pictures to edit. I did start gagizing my prolog and will take time to do. Ullia in DAI I started hitting the Oasis and Mire pretty good. i tried another try with the DLC at the old Temple on NIGHTMARE and yet again no dice. Antivan fire seems useless, full charged inquisitor special does 15% damage unless i use it on cronies and MIGHTY OFFENCE doesn't help that much.

My limit for any gaming session is 3 hours.

Anything beyond that and my brain needs some time to recover and start working again.

I hit the 4 hours mark and my body felt like **** when I got up.

I have my limits myself. I have been feeling in a unplayful mood today for some random reason. My work has been putting me in the heat for to darn long. Maybe I'm starting to get sick?

 Dragons and Giants went to the same dance school? .... Yikes, if that's the case then who is the teacher

Yay! This is awesome! Thank you so much for this. :D Next game I'll have all 30 secrets, this I vow because there's no excuse not to now

That's one thing I haven't been able to do yet is have a bad relationship with any of the companions. Worst I've gotten is indifference.... well, maybe some dislike from Solas, but it's not as if that's difficult to attain, heh.

The only guy I really had a super bad relationship with is Solas. The Vollsans (Draven and Amolla) both punched Solas in the face for his hate for the wardens helping out as well as the templars and the fact that he keeps getting ignored. Vyre kind of started off a bit burned by Vivianne (Vivianne: "May i suggest you take a bath my dear") but ended on decent terms.

How to Lose an Elf in Ten Days

Day 1: Have a nice walk with your besties ruined by slavers who keep insisting someone in your party is a slave. Idiots.

Spoiler

Day 2: Track said slavers back to their base and plan your attack.

Day 3: Enter the base and free any slaves you find. Maybe even hire one of them.
Spoiler

Day 4: Kill the b*tch in charge, but not before she drops a bombshell on your sort-of-but-not-quite boyfriend. :pinched:
Spoiler

Day 5: Head straight for the bar since your not-boyfriend ran off in a fit of broody pique after insulting you and hurting your feelings. :(
Spoiler

Day 6: Distract yourself by agreeing to help your crazy blood mage friend try to fix a broken mirror that apparently once killed people.
Spoiler

Day 7: Take a very weak party to hunt a legendary elven creature. Have no trouble with the varterral but get wiped by friggin' spiders. <_< [Forgot to take screenshots of this fight ]

Day 8: Back to the bar for another round.

Day 9: Finally head home only to find
Spoiler

Day 10:  :crying:

Another Dragon Hunter's Challenge mounted in the trophy room!

Kaltenzahn was tougher than I expected. I ended up reloading at least half a dozen times, one where I had her all the way down to less than 5% health, but all my party was napping except my KE IQ and I had already blown Resurgence. I was holding my own against three dragonlings and big mama solo, but then she one-shotted me with a bite attack and that was it.

I got a few nice screenies out of it, like this one, with wings raised and that minty clean breath:

xmk9af.png

Came out as Level 17 and about half of the XP to the next level. Barring any XP mishaps, the final battle with the Ravager should put me into level 18 plus about 5000. A full level below my first run, not too bad.

I've not done the DLC on nightmare yet but on hard Sera one-shotted the Gurd Harofsen Revenant with Mighty Offence and level three Thousand Cuts...

I'd say it is a bear.

A bear that's on fire

Since my last post I managed to finish Hissing Wastes. After that, I went to Emprise. Cleared it out up to first established camp.

Then... Arbor Wilds! Of course I spent far too much time taking screenshots. Damn. 'Only' 141... Ekhm... I think I'll share some, just let me check them. *scrolls thru her screenshots*

--snip--

Nice pics! :D ...some great camera angles there. i just played through this part in my game, but still have all the screenies to go through yet.

Maybe Mythal's getting a new body somewhere?  That might be interesting....

Ahem, yes, the dragon.  Is no more.  B)  Once again, I have 50 screens, but here are some.

 --snip--

Ahhh, Frosty :D ... I didn't have FRAPS installed when i went through the battle with her this time, but she remains one of the top fights for me.... probably because I failed the first two times i tried to kill her, and the first of those was epically bad, heh. I don't think i even got her down to half health before everyone was dead. I didn't really know what I was doing either and whenever she threw a fireball at us, everyone just scattered. We were barbecued and nearly dead before she even landed the first time.

Second time, Cassandra alone -- cuz everyone else was dead, heh -- almost won the day and proved her Pentaghast legacy, but Frosty was too much.

More running with the wolves (game life and real life are merging, it seems!):

photobombed by wolves  ... had plenty of crows/ravens do that, but never wolves.

Awww, I miss DA2. I'm gonna have to try and get back into it at some point. Soooo many games. ... Wow that Fenris romance is tough. I played it once, but it waws years ago, and i didn't really like him that much, so i don't recall how my game went, but... jeez. ...Actually in the game I'd started playing just before Inquisition arrived, My Hawke and Fenris were getting along pretty good... no romance because Merrill  ... but they were becoming friends. i found i didn't dislike Fenris so much this time :P

I just finished up at the Temple of Mythal in my current game and Kubrie is starting to gather disapproval from just about everyone  I knew I shouldn't have gone for one last conversation, heh.

I'm going to sound like an idiot, but what's FRAPS?

Well, from time to time they appear during/after fight with Frostback.

You're very welcome. You got some fantastic camera angles with your shots! :D

and yep I'll put some screenies up in my next post.

FRAPS is a program for taking videos and screenshots while you're gaming. It's not a very sophisticated program, but I like it. I've got it set to take a screenie every second, so I end up with quite a few, even in a relatively short gaming session, like a dragon battle. Most are unusable, but you do get some good ones too.

They can be thrown into the air with Fade Step's evolution. Giants receive so much damage when they're thrown into the air.

In the fade:

--snip--

I love that scene at the beginning of the Fade sequence, with Hawke and the warden and the Inquisitor all standing at different angles, figuring out what was going on. Would have been kinda cool if they had to stay that way for awhile; you know, do some demon and spider fighting while at different angles. It'd be like, "hey stop dripping spider blood on my head, dammit!"

I would probably play as a warrior since I can use a bow and dual swords. I'm also thinking of doing a kill all playthrough since I never did one  in DAO.

Reminds me of Simpson's Spider Pig. T'is a shame the spiders weren't hungry when the Inquisitor and the team arrived. Maybe some complaints of too much spider blood dripping down would have made some notable dialogues.

Are we talking companions or everyone? Obviously there are times when you have to choose, like mages or templars, Harrowmont or Bhelen, the Urn of Sacred Ashes.... but, for companions.. well, for most I think you can just choose not to recruit them, but that's not quite the same as killing them later, heh.

Everyone.

Companions aren't too hard to kill. Leliana dies in front of the ashes. Oghren can be killed at camp if very low approval. rock girl can be killed when wanting to use the anvil. Zevran can easily be killed if not friendly with him. Wynne can be killed in the circle tower. Morrigan can't be killed and Alistair can be killed off screen.

What would be cruel is sleeping with either the female or male elf  in the clan and then choose the wolves killing all the elves. Hahaha

Someone did a playthrough with only the dog left. Like I said. I'm not sure if I will do a playthrough like that.
