I'm trying to decide to start another playthrough using Sera, Blackwall and Vivienne for the whole game for the dialogue or start a DAO playthrough that I haven't played in a long time

I agree with Spork. Do both :)

Of course you should post your screenies! Silly question ;)

If you say so xD

Sentinel versus templar.

Spoiler

More sentinels. I really feel like I stalked them.

Spoiler

But I never summarised my trip to Arbor Wilds. Rogue with party passives plus three (four, if you count Morrigan) mages... It was massacre. All enemies gathered in one place with PotA. Then... Boom.

Thanks for the compliments on the screens.  I tend to be very physically involved with gaming (hitting buttons too hard, leaning forward to climb hills, craning my neck to see hidden things, etc.)  I like to pause and zoom around, and composing screens and editing them in game for use helps break up the intensity of the fights.  I go for lots of visuals, and spacing them out like this helps me a lot, and my chiropractor would agree.

She still looks like an asari to me though :D

Um, what is the red templar doing there?

Wow, your Lavellan looks gorgeous!

They appear at random during all stages of the fight, since it's their mining operation the dragon is destroying.  The horror in the foreground was doing something to the dragon, that's why her eyes were glowing red.  A couple foot soldiers showed up earlier as well, in the first wave.

Thanks!

I want to see your screenies... and I hope there'll be addictional commentary

I'm going to sound like an idiot, but what's FRAPS?

Battle with Frostback: "Fireballs, fireballs everywhere..."

Shameful me had to check how asari looks like...

Well, from time to time they appear during/after fight with Frostback.

Fraps is a really cool program, and perfect for a lot of players.  I usually pause and zoom around so much, it would just be wasted on me, but it is a way to catch screens that you'd otherwise miss in cutscenes.

Yeah, Bruce had just used Immolate. The bear was on fire, took a step and woop~ it was in the air.

I always get a kick out of Varric's upgraded spike trap for that.  Watching random huge monsters flying through the air is awesome.

Now Mira's off to Crestwood and the Fallow Mire.

They can be thrown into the air with Fade Step's evolution. Giants receive so much damage when they're thrown into the air.

Oh cool.  :o Tho I think it was a glitch with my bear, idk why, but sometimes the pathfinding of the enemies makes them walk into the air when they want to fight someone who's standing a bit more far away.

Like the Redbull commercial "Fire gives you wings!"

Hmnmn... I'm also the type to pause and zoom/play with angles, so from what you wrote it would be wasted on me as well.

Giants do like to fly. I once threw one into air at the beginning of our fight in Emerald Graves... It landed on another Giant... It was instant death for first one. I really wish I had screenshot for that, but I wasn't doing any at that time.

So Bruce finally went to Emprise du Lion, together with Varric, Cassandra and Blackwall. They closed some Rifts, claimed two Templar camps and just entered Valeska's Watch.

Yes, they're random. The one next to the second Templar camp, which you have to claim, spawned first a Pride and a Despair Demon and in the second wave only weak Wraiths. It was weird. (Tho I did use Dispel with Bruce and Spell Purge with Cassandra  )

Well, yesterday I closed the same rift. First wave - 5 Despair Demons... Ugh... Second wave... 5 Despair Demons... ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I've never been so glad to be Rift Mage. With PotA I could at least keep them in place for melee companions.

So, concerning grey wardens...

The Fade turned out to be so much easier that Halamshiral for sweet little Lavellan. Everything in the Fade made sense! Weird sense sometimes, sure, but still more comprehensible than Orlesian politics. Sweet little Lavellan almost liked it there. If it weren't for demons trying to kill her, the place would've felt rather... peaceful.
Regaining her memories was nice, too. Sweet little Lavellan never believed she was saved by Andraste, in fact, she doesn't believe in the Maker at all, so learning it was the Divine who rescued her didn't come as a surprise at all.
The Nightmare was... impressive. Scary somewhat, but impressive more. Sweet little Lavellan would love to study it, but then it showed up and ate the grey warden Alistair. :( Plans change! "Less studying, more running, boss!" (as per the Iron Bull)
And so they ran.
Out of the Fade and back at Skyhold, sweet little Lavellan had to judge lord Livius Erimond of Vyrantium, the Venatori directly responsible for the human sacrifices and demon summoning at Adamant. Apparently, it was too much to hope he'd perished during the battle there. Sweet little Lavellan sentenced him to death and executed him herself - the hardest thing she's ever done.

I met some Despair Demons too, near Valeska's Watch, it was interesting to watch Cassandra using Grappling Chain to pull them near, when they had just flown away to get away from her.  :D

Every so often I turn off the HUD and quest tracker and try to take come cool screens with the tac cam. One of these days I'll install the flycam mod and really go to town, but I'm too busy actually playing. A while back I got this one of Sera wearing the complete Superior Prowler Mail set including arms and legs which gives her full "armoured down one side" alternate appearance.

Being a weirdo I disable Origin In-Game and launch it from Steam. That way I can grab screenshots using the Steam overlay. It works pretty well, actually...

Just personal taste but I can't stand those massive bows. They look too ridiculously huge and detract from the grace of archery in my eyes. Grunsmann's Bow schematic (which she is using in that pic) is my current favourite.

Edit: But yes that's my favourite look for Sera too. I wish they'd found a way to include the collapsible bow that you see in her concept art. That was a ridiculous concept when you actually think about the practicalities of it but cool as hell.

I was speaking for myself  :P

I prefer them to be larger, most likely because of sentiment I have for large bows. The only 'smaller' bow I really like (and use whenever I play archer myself) is Bow of the Beresaad. Now we have schematic in BE, so I'm happy archer.

What is flycam?  Is it something I can access with my PC (Windows 7)?  I'd love to be able to zoom around during cutscenes, which it seems able to do.

That shot of Sera is really awesome, with the fire just starting from her hand.  The expression she has of focus is pretty cool, too.

I love little Lavellan's armor.  I never thought to use those materials together, but they work.  And I just bought the schematic to make some!  :)

I checked it out and I would love if she had that bow. Levelling one, just like Bianca o 3o

I must admit Grunsmann's Bow looks nice on elves. Seriously, that's a bow that Dalish could and would make.

I personally use DAI Cinematic Tools for flycam. It's easy to learn how to use it and it lets you zoom in/out, move camera wherever you want. There are also visual options available, switch blur on/off (useful during cutscenes), correct colors, etc. I'm also on PC (Windows 7), so it would definitely work for you.

I would probably play as a warrior since I can use a bow and dual swords. I'm also thinking of doing a kill all playthrough since I never did one  in DAO.

Well that was rather awesome. :D  But I am rather tuckered out by the whole thing.

So today in Dragon Age Inquisition...exploration and Shard collecting in Thedas.  Went to the Emprise to effect this.  And well...ahem...cleare dou the first bit of shards.  And then repaired the bridge to Judacael's crossing so that I could hunt the rest down and other things.  Did not want to get into a Dragon fight, but....

Well I got into a Dragon fight.  I was trying to find the occularum skull thingy and I put a custom locator on it.  Well it was on top of a Colluseum.  And I know what that means.  And sure enough.  There was a Dragon there...so I saved the game and went into stealth...snuck past the Dragon...went to the ocularum...AND IT WOULD NOT LET ME ACCESS IT! :o  'ah well must be because I am in stealth so it won't let me use it...let me wait...' and so I waited, came out of stealth...and still it would not let me access it! :o  'must be because I am in combat.'  So I spun around and went.  'well yolo, it can kill me and I will just come back for it.'

EXCEPT I KILLED THE BUGGER!  :D   It was one of the most intense fights of my life.  Given that I had almost NO preparation fo it.  Kara had only 4 of the extra potions, the party only had like 4 potions of health in total...and several other things.  But I still got it.  It was intense though, it had a very bad habbit of flying around and launching its projectiles at near point blank range.  And well I was blasting the thing and wailing on it with the Longbow I have and well, didn't notice the projectile till it was right on top of me 'Jesus!' I yelled as I dove out of the way of the thing.

And then the kids showed up.  But I still got them.

Anyways a little earlier too it was funny, I whistled for the horse to the bridge, and well, there was the gate...and I thought 'meh I can still get through it'...sadly...nope...no such thing.

Then a little later Kara fell off a mountain and Sera decided it would be a good idea to join her, and then there were Templars...and then Kara and Sera would not come up the mountain.  So faught them off with Cass and Solas.  I had a gate, and Solas used his fire storm...it all worked out.

Ugh  :pinched:

He already noticed, whenever he's a little near the fight, Cass is there to save him.

Also  it was a bad idea to give Blackwall the Templar armor. In the fight for Drakon's Rise I wondered why I wasn't able to target that one Templar..... It was Blackwall  His armor is purple, I should notice that he doesn't belong to the Red Templars.  But he looks so good in it.

This one's cool. Good I'm not playing archer now or in near future. Because this whole 'bow' discussion I would end up picking a bow itself for hours >.<

So, I went through companion talks and The Final Piece.

This screenshot is funny. Well, not screenshot itself, but story behind it. It was made during cutscene.

Everything looked fine in game, but when I went to check it... I found this.

My Inquisitor's derp face in this picture beats any other derp face I've ever captured.

Spoiler

"Forced to obey your mother? Ouch."

As for companion and advisor talks... This screenshot is my favourite.

Spoiler

Also there are some easy challenges up in multiplayer, so I went to play solo-multiplayer. I ended up getting bow with heal on hit... It's like universe tells me to play with other people properly o.O

Before starting WEWH, Cathair Lavellan took care of Cole's personal problem. He elected to make Cole more spirit because meta-gaming he trusts Solas. I like both paths, so I'm alternating (currently at 3 human and now, 3 spirit). Varric said "He could have been a person" in this wistful voice. Excuse you, ser, Cole is still a person and always has been.  -_-  You dwarves are all racist.  :P

Unfortunately, I clearly didn't remember how to save clan Lavellan properly, because Cullen reported that every single member was dead, and the Inquisition isn't welcome in the Marches.  That is by far the worst result. Rhiannon's PT had the best outcome, everyone lives. Elariel's PT had the clan 'scattered' and mostly dead. Jeez.

With that kind of bad news, going to the bigot capital of South Thedas probably wasn't a great idea, but Lavellan did it anyway. Originally he would pick Celene/Briala, to help the elves. Now he wants to help elves while doing as much damage to Orlais as possible (he's not thinking clearly, it's the grief). So now it's Gaspard/Briala. Some people just want to watch the world burn.  :P

I wonder how Blackwall feels when all those fancy titles are read out? Guilty? Motivated? Who knows, he was pretty surly when Lavellan asked what the 'Silverite Wings of Valour' were for.

Blackwall: For... valour.

Terrible.

In other news, Lavellan needs to find 10 silken scarves for Dorian ASAP. It's for important reasons, I swear.

When the party caught up with Briala in the servants quarters, she said: "Inquisitor Lavellan, slumming it with the rest of your people, for once." Bit rich, coming from you, Ambassador. When's the last time you scrubbed a chamber pot?  <_< She's not exactly skilled at winning allies, is she? Lavellan came to the rescue of an elf with some thrilling heroics.

Spoiler

Plus he learned that Briala is every bit the Orlesian weasel. Well, now he won't feel bad when her plans to manipulate Gaspard backfire on her personally.

I've discovered 9 halla statues, my highest total yet, I think (found a couple of new areas). Lavellan was pretty amused to find the Empress' dirty little secret (maybe it was cold?)  :P

Spoiler

The amusement was short-lived, since the Empress was assassinated, and some good Inquisition soldiers killed in the ensuing violence. Florianne was killed for her crime (hello, end table for orphans), and Gaspard's victory spoiled by Briala's. Really though, if he wanted Lavellan's help, he shouldn't go around calling elves 'rabbit'. Bit of a cheek, considering the size of Gaspard's ears.

Luckily, the night wasn't a complete waste. Lavellan got to dance with a dashing Tevinter mage.

Spoiler

I think my favourite romances are Dorian/Cass > Josie/Solas > Sera > Bull. Haven't tried the other two. It's difficult to judge. In some ways, Josephine and Solas' are my faves. And I love Sera's a lot more than 5th place would suggest. This game is just too full of wonderful romances.  ^_^

Sidenote: Is it just me, or does Josie look beautiful at the ball?
