Frustrating because I was trying really hard to 100% the area. I wish BioWare had signposted it with a "2/3 slaves freed" kinda questlog deal. I don't want to go back to a save 20 hours ago before I killed the vint boss.

Unless anyone knows if they can still spawn? Or some way to force them to spawn (exploit)?

I haven't played in awhile, so just starting up again. Going through the ritual of farming schematics in Haven. I'm determined to get that Inquisitor Helm schematic in that little chest behind where Cassandra is fighting the practice dummies. It's taking longer than I thought it would.

I just went back to Haven so I could go to the war table and unlock the Black Emporium because there are things about Meghan's appearance that need adjustment now that I'm in-game, heh.

This is why there are no screenies yet :P

Thank the Maker for the BE, right? I don't know how many times I restarted the game because what looked great in the character creator was not so great in person. Oh, also the crashing at the first cutscene, that was a lot of restarts too.

I sat down last night with 2 hours free to start JoH using a save from my first completed PT, but instead I spent those two hours totally rebuilding everything.

I had no clue what I was doing in my first PT, but now that I know what's what, everyone needed an overhaul. I made all new skills and new gear for my canon Inquisitor, Maggie Trevelyan (Rift Mage, problem child of the family, elfophile, in a committed relationship with Sera), Cass, Sera and Dorian. I had to swap in Dorian for Solas, since that cat disappeared from the scene, for some reason ...

A lot of that time was getting stuff I needed to craft top quality gear. I didn't have to do too much farming for FT mats, but I made multiple trips to the BE -- don't you hate it when you need 8 Infused Vyrantium Samite, but you've only got 7, and you don't realize it until you are right there at the forge making something? You can just hear Master Harritt tsk-tsking in the background.

I ran out of time before I finished. Maggie needs some time in front of the do-over mirror in the BE -- that vallaslin that looked so cool when she was a rebel teen now is just something that Sera makes fun of, constantly, so it has got to come off.

Vivienne as Divine is actually quite interesting. I've gotten her in each if my last two games, and in the last I wasn't even trying, heh. I dunno what happened there.

I read in the DA wiki, that if you shouldn't do her personal quest Favors the First Enchanter, if you want someone else as Divine.

This quest is designed to support Vivienne as the new Divine Victoria, it's advised to avoid this quest if one wishes to support either Leliana or Cassandra.

So if you do her quest she will end up as Divine, no matter what. (which is the reason why I never ask her, if I can help her, except for the Wyvern heart  )

Actually it's not that. It seems to give you addictional 'points' toward her election, but does not make her Divine. I'm sure of that since I do this quest ("Favors the First Enchanter") every pt and still have to have her selected as Divine

Tho idk if Bruce would want to help her. When Bastien died, he felt genuinely sorry for her and then talked to the brother & sister of the dead, only to learn that she had used him for her own political schemes. Bruce is still angry at her.

On today's episode of Dragon Age Inquisition:  **** you Sandy Howler, **** you.

Oh man must have played nearly four hours tonight :/  *sigh*.  Started off in Skyhold and started off as trying to do some war table stuff.  And then I went to go craft some stuff, a dagger for Cole, and then I had a thought...went to the BE and got two Armor schematics for Sera and Varric.  Then crafted me up some armor for them.  Did shards in the Oasis, and Hissing Wastes...and I found a Fade Touched Serpentstone.  Which got me what I wanted so I crafted up my Dragon Slaying rune...

And then went off to kill the above mentioned howler.  'this will be a slaughter' I said coming up to the thing...four deaths later I guess it was a slaughther.   <_<   And I do not get why Iron Bull is just so squishy.  He was dying over and over, especially in these dragon battles...it was driving me up the wall! :o  And Just when I finally thought i had it both Solas and Dorian went down and then I went down leaving Cass so I just had to bear with it.  ANd killed the Dragon, but then still had to deal with two of her children.  :o  Still, I buggered through.

And then to the tomb.

And then I solved my first Astarium.

Bleck.

Ouch, poor guy. I may be late, but I'm gonna buy him a drink. It's never too early nor too late to get drunk.

I don't think it will be so hard. I don't trust that wicked witch - one possible reason to drink. If someone has to wield this ancient power it should be me - second reason. I don't want anyone else to risk in my place - third reason. I can think of some more ;)

Oh, I know she's interesting Divine. But I don't think I would like her. At least not in my canon playthrough. I did everything I could while not breaking out of character to get Leliana. We'll see what's the result soon.

For addictional judgment option it's worth to break from magequisition for this one quest. I don't mind the timer. Actually I kind of like it, just like in WEWH. If you don't plan to loot everything, you should be able to pick up everything Ser Barris is asking for in one go. And no problem :) I really liked Your Trainer before, but this pic made me love her!

By the way. Nice triple post. Is forum lagging for you as well?

I dunno what happened, the forum lagged like crazy, kicked me out, and I couldn't sign in again from my mobile. :pinched:

Thousand Cuts is for taking out a single target with loads of HP very quickly. It's therefore very useful for bosses and Dragons. Fully upgraded Mighty Offense Tonic gives a damage boost and crucially if you score a critical hit it doubles the damage. If you combine Thousand Cuts with an Assassin's "Mark of Death" ability which also doubles damage you can literally take out high dragons with one attack. So you put Mark of Death on an enemy, pause and switch to Sera, have her attack with Thousand Cuts and then when she's done switch back to your Assassin and detonate Mark of Death. It's worth saying that I have Mark of Death set up so that the AI does not use it. I find that it's an ability that you need to trigger manually at the right tactical  moment. (Same with spell purge and dispel, actually...)

Just wanted to add support to the use of "Mark of Death" ... I never joined it with Thousand Cuts in my last game, or not very often because Sera didn't accompany us very often, but I found it incredibly deadly paired with Hidden Blades. What a great skill it is.

Today, sweet little Lavellan abandoned all her world-saving duties and run off on a dragon-hunting spree! She went ahead and killed five four dragons in a row! That took her two levels up right away, she is 21 now - not so little anymore, I guess ^_^
Anyway. The first to go was the dreaded Vinsomer. 8 levels higher than the regular enemies on the Coast, terrorizing giants, lurking on the island of zappy death... well, not anymore! Storm Coast is officially zappity-free! The battle went pretty good, except for the last part, when the dreaded Vinsomer covered the whole battlefield with electricity circles upon her death... almost took us with her! Luckily, we had a lot of healing potions.
After that, we proceeded to the Emerald Graves. We didn't care about pesky distractions - wildlife, bandits, red templars and such, all were ignored at the moment - we hunted the dragon! The Greater Mistral, oh yes... there she was, in the farthest corner of the forest, of course... hiding! Sweet little Lavellan, while keeping her distance, diligently took notes on her behavior for professor Frederic of Serault, then went ahead and slew the beast. The Greater Mistral was not much of a challenge. The dreaded Vinsomer put up a better fight.
And thus two high dragons were slain. But sweet little Lavellan was not satisfied yet! (Where did this murderous mood come from, I swear I have no idea). Anyway, the only surviving dragons were spotted in the Emprise du Lion and the Hissing Wastes. Sweet little Lavellan decided to go to the Emprise first, since there was not just one beast but three!
There she carefully weighted her options and picked her prey. First, she went after the Hivernal.
The Hivernal was not happy. Not happy at all.

Spoiler
Ouch

Apparently, Bull and Cole finished the Hivernal off, then spent quite some time thawing out the frozen elves. Cole must've made a lot of cryptic references to Disney...
However, if you think that the icicle experience discouraged sweet little Lavellan somehow, you are in the wrong! If anything, she enjoyed it! I see no other explanation for her going straight after the Kaltenzahn next...
The Kaltenzahn, ooh, that was a tough one. Still a level above sweet little Lavellan, with a horde of dragon babies at her call... But guess who had all three bars of Focus filled by then B) Fully charged Mark of the Rift over the Mark of Death truly did wonders. It took Kaltenzahn from 75% to 25% health in one click! :police: Poor thing didn't even had the chance to bring in reinforcements. No, the babies came, but by the time they did, The Kaltenzahn already lay slain. Victorius again!
But it was not over yet. The Highland Ravager still drew breath, and sweet little Lavellan just couldn't let that be. She restocked her potions, changed her resistance tonics from cold to fire. Professor Frederic of Serault sent her a note, warning her that the Highland Ravager was considered the most fierce and dangerous beast in Orlais, but she heeded his words not. She was level 21 after all! So what if the Highland Ravager was still two levels higher. Didn't she just slay four dragons in a row? She could do this!
And so on she went, weapons blazing.
The Highland Ravager... lol'd. I can assume she did, because in ten minutes it took us to make a small dent in her health bar, she jumped around like crazy and put her full Guard up four or five times. Apparently, then she got bored and one-shot both Bull and Cole with a fireball. Sweet little Lavellan called for a tactical retreat.
The second attempt was... faster. Also, with less Guard. Couple of minutes into the fight, the Highland Ravager just totally bbq'd Bull with a single breath of fire. Extra crispy!
Defeated and humbled, sweet little Lavellan retreated to camp again. It was time to return to her world-saving duties anyway. Stupid Highland Ravager. Ruined such a perfect score. I'll be back, you stupid overgrown lizard. Grumble-grumble.

Sneaky Vinny  ... and the Highland Ravager has thrown down the gauntlet. You can't let this aggression stand B)

Yup when I went through JoH I took my first inquisitor through, and I had to make all new gear, respec skills, slight appearance change but only slight, just to take advantage of everythign I'd learned since that first PT

I'm not really sure how that operation works.  I've heard reports that it's even possible to obtain it once Cory's banished, so if you feel like wandering around in the Wastes post game, you might still get it.  The way I figure it is that with the Venatori demand for slaves gone and as stability improves, the slaves will be free anyway.  All the war table operation is is making the observation formal.

An approach that's been working for me is to pick something else I want to check out, then look for things that look promising.  The slaves are near red templar bases, usually near camp, but sometimes near Venatori digs or landmarks.  If you're actively looking for them, they almost never appear, I think.  IDK, it just seems like whenever I develop an interest in comparing differences in colossus statues in Valammar and the Wastes, a wounded ram leads me to a templar encampment, and there's a slave to be freed.

I decided Mira needed some mighty offense before the Western Approach, so to the cabin in the woods it was.

Emerald Graves. Cleared out from the beginning till the end. In a meantime I collected all "Invasion" mosaic pieces, finished Patron of the Arts, Nursery Seeds and Banners. I'm more and more certain that once again I got my Thrones bugged >.> But what happened during my trip?

I started with Solas, Blackwall and Cole. Met with refugees, Fairbanks, off to kill Freeman idiots bosses. Nothing special. I ended up spamming upgraded Fade Step.

Here...

Spoiler

...here...

Spoiler

...and here.

Spoiler

I ended up one shoting... or stepping Behemoth, when I managed to run in circles.

Of course it wouldn't be proper field trip if Connie didn't end up in strange place.

Spoiler

Villa Maurel is way too beautiful...

Spoiler

...for thugs like Freeman. Although I almost felt sorry for Maliphat at that moment.

Spoiler

Then, on a way to Argon's Lodge, we established new camp. Good, good. There's that huge, and I mean huge, stature nearby. I went to check it and do a picture. Why not?

I laughed way too much about it. 'To your room!'

Spoiler

Then I zoomed... It holds cheese wheel in its hand! What the hell is wrong with cheese in Thedas?!

Spoiler

Our happy little party cleared out Emerald Graves up to the river. In a meantime Cullen managed to lure out Red Templar Lieutenant.

Connie bravely stood against him...

Spoiler

...and Cole finished him off.

Spoiler

Obligatory photo with the greatest thing in Emerald Graves.

Spoiler

After that I swapped party, since there was harder part coming. Cassandra, Sera and Vivienne. I wasn't planning to switch parties for the rest of the Graves. So they went with me to Chateau d'Onterre. I love Sera's reaction for this place.

Of course before we entered we had to be attacked by Giant. What was it doing there?

Spoiler

In Chateau dragon looked so peaceful...

Spoiler

...and Connie decided that stairs are overrated.

Spoiler

After Chateau we headed toward dragon. Mostly because we heard her flying around and Sera was nagging Inquisitor to go take a look.

That smile is almost charming.

Spoiler

The best moment to use Mark of Rift. Poor Cassandra was useless for a moment.

Spoiler

At this point big lady got really offended.

Spoiler

Charming smile is not enough to stop Inquisitor from slaying you. Just saying.

Spoiler

Trip to refugees camp. Party had way too much loot to go to Din'an Hanin. After selling everything that was useless party went to Knights' Tomb.

If not for swarming Venatori this place would be so beautiful and peaceful.

Spoiler

Nope, nope, nope, nope... *DA2 flashbacks*

Spoiler

During all this walking in this beautiful place I had one question in mind...

What the hell is that thing?

Spoiler

And that's what I did in DA 'verse today. Thank you for your attention.

Well, it was lagging terribly for quite a while, so I'm not suprised something like that could happen.

There seems to be some sort of points system. With decisions you make and sometimes during dialogue with certain characters you can gain those 'points'. Similary to approval system. Is it true? I don't know, but that seems reasonable.

Magdalena thanks for the feedback. With those reports I'll head back and have another look when I can muster up the beans for more Hissing Wastes (altho maybe it's possible post-Cory so long as you didn't kill the Vint boss during the game, it could be the Vint boss's that's the trigger for the spawning to stop). You're right of course that with them wiped out it's easy to headcanon/figure the slaves are free and lead improved lives anyway, I'm just frustrated because I'm currently doing a completionist run where I'm trying to do as much of the ops and collecting etc as possible. :)

I spent today so far collecting all the **** in Fallow Mire & Hinterlands, including codex entries. I'm like 70 hours into this playthrough and haven't even started Halamshiral or The Nightmare questlines, save me.

In one of my pts I was able to free slavers even after Cory was defeated. I can't tell if killing Vint's boss makes it impossible to finish this mission since I always finish it before that.

After Brenna's short sojourn in Haven she was back on the road again. First up was a trip to the Forbidden Oasis where she explored some lower levels of the mines. Also spent ages trying to find the miner to return her key, eventually spied her on an upper rocky ledge (white circle in pic). Not seen her there before! Then it was a brief return to the Hinterlands to tie up some loose ends including a visit to Valammar, one of my favourite locations:

3_zpsdd7qpyhg.jpg

After returning to Haven things began in earnest with the assault by Corypheus & his minions where she ultimately faced him down:

4_zpsarut52ly.jpg

5_zpsuhqvyvqa.jpg

After surviving the attack she had to fight her way through the demons & freezing winds to reach her companions. After catching her breath the small group finally made it to Skyhold heeding Solas's guidance:

Finally after her inauguration as the Inquistor she was able to inspect the fortifications, meet Hawke & enjoy some of the views:
