I like to take direct control of my companions and I do use Tac Cam from time to time, but I don't (or didn't should be proper form now) invest skill points in Focus Skills, so I had no idea they had separate bars o.O

Ah right. Again it just underlines how many different ways there are to play this game...

So anyway, I didn't have much gaming time last night so I thought that Aidan would go and see what personal quests he could get talk to his friends.

He helped Cullen to break his lyrium addiction.

Spoiler

Had a chat with Blackwall where he further revealed his lack of actual knowledge of the Grey Wardens. It's so obvious when you know! :D

Spoiler

Talked to Cole and Solas about being bound and searching for an amulet to stop unwanted mages from doing so. Aidan's final act of the evening was to set Leliana off looking for one at the War Table.

Uhhh, of course I meant to say the ... Err, that is, didn't the Exalted March in the Dales involve templars and elves? And please let me preface this by saying I don't really know the lore that well.

Remember those two kids learning from Aldous in the Highever castle library, in the human noble Origin story of DA:O? I'm like those kids when it comes to codex entries.

Don't worry, I'm not that good either. It could be a templar, but from what Mother Giselle tells you about Exalted March on Dales it seems only Orlesian nobles were involved in that. It's true they could draw Orlesian templars into that too... But... I think those paintings were created by elves of the Dales when they got that land. How would they know Exalted March was coming when they drew it? xD

I remember them very well. I always stopped by to help with teaching them (and freeing them from boring old geezer) xD

Much dwarfy goodness! I just wish they had written more special dialogue for a dwarf IQ.

I agree. When I did my dwarf playthrough, I was hoping for more dialogue related to dwarfs especially if Varric in is your party. I was also disappointed my dwarf said nothing while doing the Tomb of Fairel quest

But... Each character has their own focus meter. Using one doesn't stop you from using the others!

I've used my Inquisitor's focus and a couple others while fighting dragons.

Have you played Jaws of Hakkon as a dwarf? I was pleasantly surprised by how many times Tressa was rererred to as an elf in that compared to the vanilla game. I took it as a sign of what happens when they know for the whole development time of a story that there will be multiple races, as opposed to the main game where they incorporated it half-way through. I wonder if Dwarves and Qunari also get more recognition in the DLC.

Yeah. It's also useful to use more than one focus power while fighting Coryphy-t!t.

I haven't as a dwarf yet. I still got the save so I might try it later

As people have read, I'm playing DAO. The best thing by far that DAO does better than DAI is the ability to use all powers without being limited to only 8. The other thing is my Warden doesn't sway her backside like in DA2 and DAI. I'm ok with that.

Good, good. I still have Emprise dragons to take down. I feel that they're screwed now that I know about separate focus bars... Mwahahaha!

Don't mind me, it's too hot and I'm getting idiotic ideas.

When JoH came out I started new pt with elf just to see the difference. It was worth it. Now I feel like playing dwarf or qunari just to see if there are any special dialogue.

On this episode of Dragon Age Inquistion:  What Pride Had Wrought ft. Claudia Black as 'Morrigan the crazy witch lady who wants all da powa...unlimted POWER...'  ahem got a little carried away there....also going near deaf due to new headphones and Dragon Fights.

Lets see.  Started off in the Western Approach, solved one more Astarium but sort of went '**** it' because I realized I did not have enough Pure Fire Essences to make it work.  Off to Skyhold, and had a chat with all my companions...crafted something new...and then off to the Emprise Du Lion to wrap up the last two Dragon fights.  Hehehehehe.

So off to the Emprise.  And then this time made sure to do all the preparations.  Team Dorian, Sera, and Cass...I tihink.  Hivernal.  What a freaking whimp.  Now that was a slaughter, think I only used like three potions and the guy just stood there taking it.  Erm...girl.  Anyways, defeated her and traded out parties for Cassandra, Varric, Solas.  Highland Ravager was much tougher, aided by the fact used up a lot of focus during the last fight, and she had children, and she had guards to protect her.  Still got through it pretty easily.  Though the worse problem was THE THING'S FREAKING SCREACHING HURT MY EARS IN MY NEW HEADPHONES.  Ahem.

So then after that back to Skyhold to talk to everyone.  But I had run most of them out of dialog, so very short comments.  And then off to the actual Temple itself.  Of Mythal.  Took Morrigan.  Got lost at first, got lost again, but I eventually made my way through.  And man this quest is a lot cooler then I remembered it being the first time.  I found a new appreciation for it and it was pretty high on my list to begin with.  Kicked a lot of butt, have the screncaptures and vid to prove it, and bull rushed through the Rituals :(.  But at least I got Cal to back off thanks to the AMAZING TEMPLE OF DUMAT QUEST OMG BACK UP.

I almost forgot I did the Shrine of Dumat in this playthrough, tonight, and well I was surprised/ impressed in just how different it was then during the Mage Version.  Listening to Corypheus's memories, I heard they were fascinating but didn't expect them to be that fascinating.  Also the scene with the mage was one of the most powerful, chilling moments in the game.  The ambiance during the quest, the tone, the mood, was pitch perfect.  And the mention of Sampson was quite appreciative too.  I loved it, and I have vid of it...which I should post one day... I hope.

But yeah Cal backed off thanks to my knowledge from the Shrine and left the field of Battle to hold back her master.  I wonder if she survived?  Then Abelas committed suicide effectively but Kara got mighty pissed off at Morrigan because of it...and thus drank from the well.

Which leads us to the scene in 'the Final Pieces' which was...creepy for her, and a bit confusing.  First it seems 'Mytha' realeases the Inquisitor and then says "I have no commands for you...yet."  Uh...uh oh.  But it seems to have ended in a good way.  I mean Kara was just so pissed it wa slike, oh no, you aren't drinking from it...with Leliana and Morrigan killing defensless people she has gotten rather sensitive about the whole thing.

Wrapped up by talking to everyone again, going on to open the last piece in the Temple of Solassan, interesting, and then went off to upload pics onto USB, and soon they will be on computer.

Also, in other news I finally have gone back to writing 'Consequences of an Ordered World' hopefully that will be up soon.

Beating the Avaar boss was pretty easy when I activated each companion's focus in turn.  It's a real help having buffing focus abilities.

I've spent the last day deciding I take way too many pictures.  Working backwards from screen 3788, I've done 240.  Wow.

I'm just about to finish Here Lies the Abyss....

Time to get back to work, but here's a close call.

Hello.

Do you feel complemented? :P

You know the other thing that happened it was ironic I made this bow for Dragon hunting, called it Dumat's Bane...forgot to equip it for the last two Dragons.     Only used it for the Sandy Howler.

Don't you hate it when you have an entire headcanon scenario playing over and over in your head and then when you go to type it up, the blank screen intimidates you into forgetting everything you just thought of? :pinched:

Or does that only happen to me?

She's pissing me off and she's a nutcase... That... reminds me of someone *looks in the mirror*

Suddenly I feel like she's closer to my heart o 3o

I always forget to equip good stuff when I'm supposed to xD At least game is a tad harder.

I remember the time when I was active roleplayer. That happened every. Friggin. Time. Then, when you remembered plot, you wrote it down and felt like it wasn't that. Not what you thought. Then edit. And edit. And edit one more time. >.>

On a side note. I went to Emprise and decided to capture mysterious pyramid. Then I went up a bit with Flycam. You saw only legs... I saw it aaaaaaallllllll~~

Well no Inquisition has kind of eaten up my writing time really in a lot of ways, that and the will power.  But now I have the will a bit up some more.  And since Kara is almost finished, see most of my rescent posts, and since I may want to write one or two fics with her in it, I should really finish Ben's up.

Kinda xD

I've used my Inquisitor's focus and a couple others while fighting dragons.

A killer combo I use: Cass does Rally (boosts damage for the whole party), then immediately, Sera does Thousand Cuts.

I've seen videos of the IQ using Mark of The Rift as a sort of slow spell on a dragon, then Sera does Thousand Cuts.

I shared this a few pages back but it might be worth sharing again as we've been talking about it. This is the result of Mark of Death/Thousand Cuts (and one Hidden Blades because why not? I had time.) Check the health bars and potions. You'll have to take my word that Aidan's game is on nightmare, but it is. I'm going for that achievement. :) (Oh and see How Aidan's focus is still full)

I believe you. I was playing assassin myself when I went for nightmare achievement. No Thousand Cuts, yet I still could bring dragon's health down below half with one MoD usage. So yep, I believe you.

What you are not showing is that it only took 10 seconds to kill that dragon. :)

MoD + TC is awesome power, a speedkill versus bosses. It's a thing of beauty.

Here's a speedkill video of the Ravager with, get this, MoD, TC, Mark of the Rift, Earthshaking Strike, and Static Cage, all at the same time! The poor dragon doesn't even completely finish waking up before it's dead.
