I think you can headcanon that, although playing that character might be hard with dialogue choices we have.

Oh, I didn't mean playing it. ^^; I was thinking about just writing it up using my Trevelyan's gameplay as reference for decisions, but switch the protagonist with someone more customised. Some side quests (Cole, Dorian, Calpernia) gave me boost of inspiration, but I'm still thinking about how to grasp all this to not just repeat the events of the game (because who would read the story then, right?) and not skip too much (to preserve the flow).

Oh. Then you surely can do that. Inquisitor's background is mysterious enough to headcanon a thing or two o 3o

Whatever you may think of the plotline of In Hushed Whispers, and opinions seem to vary wildly, I defy you not to be moved by the final scene. I personally rate it as one of the most emotionally affecting and memorable single moments in a BioWare game, and many people will never see it as it's in an optional quest.

Agreed. It's right up there with discovering Skyhold and induction into Spect ... er, I mean, becoming Inquisitor. (No sarcasm -- the ME1 induction into Spectre scene is one of my all-time favorites).

Wait...what? You can play in the arena even after the quest part is done??! :o

Yes. You get some kind of honorary award from the Avvar for doing it, too. I mean above and beyond the "impression" point of the hold. I don't remember what it's called, it flashed by in my notifications after my second run through the arena. I'll have to go check next time I'm on.

In terms of the ME games, I'd rate it with Mordin on Tuchanka in ME3. That scene really got me in the gut. The scenes you mention are great too, but in another way.

Actually one particularly memorable ME moment for me was just after the end of the first game with the credits rolling and M4 Part II by Faunts playing. I kind of sat there letting the mixed emotions of having defeated Saren but knowing that worse enemies were to come wash over me. The bittersweet nature of the song seemed to fit the moment perfectly, and it will stay with me for a long time...

I found the most frustrating thing in DAO. I have to go to soldiers peak to store or get items instead of having that chest at the camp

Crestwood's dragon was just a bit too easy, meh.  The Abyssal High Dragon, though...  :D

I'd love to share each of the 52 awesome pictures I took of the fight, but here are some highlights.

And a truly theatrical death that would make the actors in Val Royeaux blush.

Yeah... and all those 'why-no-dlc' cries that comes later are even worse when everyone's riling up everyone like that >.>

Well sorry I guess that might be me in this case.   <_<   Buuuuuuuuuuuuttt well it will roll off my back either side of the coin.  Though the timing will be rather amazing if they do give us more DLC now. :D

Anyways more Jaws.  I am loving it but it was getting a bit long in the tooth today.  Plllluuuuuusss just a lot of running around today.  Though there was that one good quest A Loss of a Friend.

Spoiler

Also the quest the 'Nox Morta' made me lol, but it was a clear reference to the loc ness monster.  And I have to whistle at all the good loot that is coming from those fade rifts up in there.

Oh, I didn't mean you! I... You see, you admitted yourself it'll not bother you, but there are those who won't stop nagging no matter what. It's waste of energy, seriously.

 It's not like I'm not hoping for DLC, but I'm doing it quietly, in my tiny, tiny room, not bothering anyone

While I have a minute, a quick installment of some of Aidan's exploits from yesterday. He started by talking to Cass about Divine issues.

Spoiler

And of course this meant that he went to chat with Leliana too.

Spoiler

An attempt to talk further on the matter triggered Leliana's quest led to news of a mysterious package left by Divine Justinia an a remote chantry...

Spoiler

More later...

I just hope that some of the rumors aren't true and they say 'and this is the last DLC for DA I' my heart will probably do. :D -_-

You know its on this note I got Jaws specifically for the final scenes involving Ameridan so I could experience them myself and interact, but I must say I am surprised how much fun I am having with it.  BW did a good job.

That would be a bummer. Even DA2 had more story DLCs (I'm counting Exiled Price, cause you know, quests o 3o).

Yeah, Jaws is really fun. It's funny how many people are disappoined with it.

Also big + for BW for Professor Kenric.

I think its all the gameplay and what they were trying to do with the world in DA I perfected so hopefully they can nail out the few story kinks that they still need to work on.

Yeah, I've seen it. Some folks here speculate that the size is a sign of DLC coming. I don't like guesses like that >.>

That could be true. Or it could have been 2.5 because they didn't compress the patch files.

Thinking about a fanfic - theoretically anyone who was at the Conclave, officially or not, could be the Herald, right? What about an assassin who was sent to kill the Divine, but Coryphreak was faster?

That would be an interesting story. If you're thinking of writing it, go for it!

Aaaaah! This was my first dragon fight in DA:I! I avoided all other dragons as I could, but this one just ambushed me and then the epic music started playing, while Iron Bull was shouting: "Boss, you're the best!", so I muttered Varric's favourite quote ("Well, sht.") and gave it a go. It was... awesome! Like... I mean... AWESOME! I normally hate fights, but I didn't want this one to end. Mostly because of the music and Bull's excitement!

Nice shots! :)

The music is really good when fighting the dragons. At times I've dragged out the fight to hear more of the music

What rumors are these? This is the first I've heard of that. If true, I would be very curious as to why. I won't worry until Bioware says that the next dlc is the last one for DAI

I do like the Jaws of Hakkon dlc. Very challenging even on casual mode. Looking forward to the next dlc whenever it's released

Victoria Cousland

I sent Morrigan in the fade to deal with the demon

she told me that they both sat down and had tea and crumpets. They had a nice chat, but Morrigan had to kill the demon. The fight was one of the best fought in the fade or at least in the history of the fade. Morrigan felt bad for killing the demon since they became friends in the short time they knew each other

Connor is ok. mommy is happy

someone get the ashes. Let me guess? Me. Its always me. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia

Haven is a creepy town. It would be a good place to film a movie here

killed  a lot of lunatics

killed the high dragon. cool

I took off my clothes and walked through fire. Now that's cool. No burn marks. So why was I burning when fighting the dragon? I smell an inconsistency.

the brother went back to Dererim. I went back to camp

the redhead likes me. Lets go to the pearl where we can be liked more. Hahaha

stopped in Denerim and paid Wade a visit. There I go again with the rhyming storytelling. Paid. Wade

the armor looks good. come at me darkspawn

I went back to camp to rest before going to Redcliffe to heal the Arl

I think Raz got her final tweaks. The only thing that may change with time is hairstyle. Now just to get around to playing her. Someday. I hope soon.

Spoiler

Blackwall, Solas and Sera. That's the party that accompanied Inquisitor Connie Trevelyan in her quest to retake Suledin Keep. Of course there must have been a demon. Or maybe THE demon. Imshael is was not a small fry.

Sera was highly suspicious.

Spoiler

After beating Imshael Suledin Keep ofically became one of Inquisitions outposts.

Spoiler

Quick trip to Skyhold. Bridge to repair, troubles to come. After returning to Emprise it turned out more trouble appeared. Red Templars and, guess what, DRAGONS. Time to slay some beasts! Cole, Sera and Bull were more than eager to help Inquisitor get rid of her 'small' problems.

But before that, some dragon pics.

Spoiler

Decision was made that whole new area should be cleared in one go. There were some groans, but no one dared to oppose Inqusitor when large qunari was standing right beside her, swinging his new sword. After closing rifts and getting rid of Red Templars, party went after first dragon.

Unconventionally, first was Highland Ravager. I listened to some advice here and decided to go with Mark of Rift + Mark of Death + Thousand Cuts + some addictional attacks in a middle.

Poor girl had no time to stand up.

Spoiler

Then came the time for Hivernal. Of course Bull and Cole had to freeze all the time. And no, not because of Hivernal's freezing breath. I mean, they stood in place, doing nothing. I hate switching to other companions to make them move again.

They were totally not posing.

Spoiler

Her last smile before she dropped dead.

Spoiler

Last one was Kaltenzahn. I feared she would summon Dragonlings on regular basis, but somehow she didn't do that. Not even once. Lucky!

Of course Cole had to freeze in the most inappropriate moment.

Spoiler

Then, while she was dying, she decided to pull off Sandy Howler, which means... she became invisible.

Spoiler

With Kaltenzahn dead last Ocularum was available. After gathering uncovered shards, Connie, Dorian, Varric and Blackwall visited Forbidden Oasis one last time. Last room.

Spoiler
Spoiler
Spoiler

At this point all side quests were done, all areas were cleared. Except for Frostback Basin, which I want to play after main game. So it was time for Doom Upon All the World.

False Archdemon turned out to be more badass that actual baddie.

Spoiler

The Breach is pretty. No matter what.

Spoiler

One last look at merry company before going back to Skyhold.

Spoiler

I can't get over how Cullen looks at Inquisitor in this cutscene.

Spoiler

In the future Connie will learn about certain god being ressurected as a dragon, but now... Deserved rest.

During my playthrough, I haven't used Alistair. After healing the Arl, I got some dialogue I never heard before. Eamon revealing Alistair tis Cailins half-brother and heir to the throne. Alistair tried to talk his way out of it of why he didn't tell me earlier. Cool

Damn. I hope you'll be able to fix it soon!

For now I'll give you mine.

[snip]

Sorry about your computer woes. :( It sounds trite, but really, be glad you caught it in time. One of my kids used a top-notch computer with the fan out (for upgrade, ironically enough,) and we wound up with a very expensive piece of wall art to remind us what happens when jobs are left half finished and no one is informed. That's all a motherboard is good for when the CPU is melted to it. A fan costs, what $20? CPU + motherboard = big bucks. Now you can swing by and pick up a new fan (think about those cooling towers instead - I highly recommend them) and have it installed in about 1/2 hour, and the expense is tolerable if you think of what a new system would cost.

Thanks! It's been bloody hot here, so I need all the fans I can get. For my pc, too. :P After much coaxing, cajoling, and cussing, I got the fan to start running again. I really need to figure out a way to get it out so I can replace it. I already have the parts I need, I just can't get this fan unattached from its housing.  <_< My build is 4+ yrs old, so my next upgrade is most likely going to be a new MB/CPU, and a new cooler as well. I just don't want to do that now.

I love the music for In Hushed Whispers. It's so quiet and, not creepy, but more like mysterious. That sequence and Western Approach/Siege of Adamant/Adamant Fortress (aka dragon music) are my favorites on the soundtrack.

Aidan has yet to properly meet Calpernia, but she already seems much more interesting than Samson. I'm looking forward to it.

But, Samson is voiced by Gideon Emery.  Calpurnia.....is not. :P

Nice! Next time I get to that part I will have to remember to go back in for more fun.

Got the update, whatever it was, downloaded and installed. Alas, no new mystery achievements showing in Origin. :(

But why/ how can they do this and not give us 'new game plus'?! (or a way to at least import your old facial characteristics on a new character) :pinched:
