I'm a cheapskate....I wait until I've added at least one of the discount perks before buying it.
Same here! I love a sale!
Yup, six. After the third I thought maybe my game had glitched and they weren't gonna stop
Haha.. Those bears probably love your Inquisitor more than mine
Ended up soloing a dragon in MP so I could get my SP dragon items.
My poor teammates wiped out like 4-5 minutes into the fight so Isabela strapped her boots up tight, got her daggers out and went to work. OAN, I quite like the dragon decor.
Also changed the color of my rift mage's hair. For her story, I'm RPing that between the anchor and learning the rift mage specialization, her hair changed from dark brown to dark gray.
That's awesome! Too bad one of the other companions couldn't ride alongside you.
I wish it were so :'D
I kinda thought the last one or two would've seen the fate of their buddies and said to themselves, "The hell with this crap" and left me alone, heh.Haha.. Those bears probably love your Inquisitor more than mine
No kidding, that would make for some fantastic screenies.I wish it were so :'D
I just tried to join a random game, and the lag was so bad I had to leave. I started way on the other side of the map and although I could run around in it, i couldn't do anything. Yeah it's been a rough few days for MP. I've been encountering issues too lately which has stopped me from playing as much.

Thankfully it wasn't bad yesterday when we went after the new Skyhold decor, but that was a private match. Dunno if that makes a difference.

I wish I could have kept going. I guess I had reached the quota for bear hide or something. Rats. That was a fun fight. Maybe next time I'll turn up the difficulty again. And I wish I'd find that enhanced grenades belt.
Bruce just finished the Elven Rituals (screenies come later, I'm on mobile
) and I got a weird notification.
Bull disapproved...
Dear Bull, you're not even here....
It can't be an all team mates approval thing, because I only got three notifications:
Solas +, Cassandra -, Bull -. The last one should've been Cole.

Nice to harvest that Great Bear Hide for sure.... do you use a lot of grenades in combat? I never do, never think of them
Health potions and that's it, and if I run out of those, then the regen potion. I think I've only even unlocked the third potion slot in my first game. Oh wait, i unlocked it right at the end of my last game.
But then, I play on casual
The companions are all telepathic... either that, or they're physical representations of different aspects of the Inquisitor's psyche, manifested through her time in the Fade at the Temple of Sacred Ashes. If their approval is low enough*, every time the Inquisitor tries to talk with them, they'll slap her across the face and say, "what is the first rule of The Fade?" before proceeding normally with the conversation.Bruce just finished the Elven Rituals (screenies come later, I'm on mobile

Today I resumed Meghan's journey back in the Hinterlands, after Val Royeaux. No screenies because I forgot to turn FRAPS on
but the magequisition is tremendously fun so far. if anyone hasn't tried rolling out a party full of mages when they go exploring, I highly recommend it. I haven't recruited Dorian yet, so I'm only 3/4 of the way there, but Cassie makes a good tank for the three mages for now. The only hitch I've noticed is that the others are somewhat stingy with their barriers, and I'm not high enough level -- not enough skill points -- to do much to reduce cooldowns, so there are times when Meghan is vulnerable and squishy waiting for her barrier to recharge.
We have just cleared out the Templar camp and found the FT-Ironwood stash by the waterfall. So, I'm standing there next to the waterfall, looking down the length of the river -- we all know what's down there at the other end, right? -- and I'm imagining Meghan with a thoughtful expression on her face. She looks at Cassie, the question in her eyes. Cassie only nods and unsheathes her brand new Sweetish Fingers blade. Then she looks at Vivienne, who merely affects a bored expression and tuts-tuts over some mud on her shoes. Finally, she looks at Solas, who gives her that smug little smirk of his. You all know the one; it says, "If you think you're up for it, shemlen, let's see what you have... and if you were an elf I would rock your world."
Then she gives a determined nod. Forget getting Druffy's help, which I've never gotten to work anyway. Forget only being level seven, and so probably not ready for this. Forget coming back later.
"Pssshhh," She says. "We're going for it."
And we did.

When you go straight down the river towards that rift, there is quite a drop in the landscape, which you don't notice so much if you go around and approach the rift while escorting Druffy. So the magequisition and the Seeker stood on an overhang, looking a long way down at that rift, as two level 12 terrors and one level 12 despair demon appeared out of it. We enabled our barriers and started shooting our staff attacks at them, while they shrieked up at us. Unfortunately for Cassie, there was no easy way down to the river from that overhang, so all she could do was stand beside Meghan and watch.
I thought to myself, this will be easy.
People, let me tell ya. Don't mock the Maker like that.
The terrors can teleport. We all know this. Meghan and Cassie were prepared for it on one side of the river. Viv and Solas ready on the other. The terrors chose Viv and Solas, over Cassie and Meghan.
Viv and Solas both have passive threat-reduction skills. Cassie has been yelling her throat raw, challenging the demons to come and fight her, the threat-heightened Seeker.
Can't tell me the demons are dumb.
We got through the first wave, and nobody died, but it was a close thing. Solas was badly hurt and yet refused a healing potion, even though he had to be below the health threshold to auto-drink one. Well I couldn't pay attention to that now. Baldy was on his own. the second wave was pouring through the rift. Now we had two terrors and two despair demons, all level 12, to deal with. The despair demons chose to focus on Viv and Solas -- who are my cold and electric specialists
-- and the Terrors chose Meghan and Cassie.
Nope, demons aren't dumb at all.
One Terror teleported right up under Meghan and Cassie, knocking them both off their feet, and Cassie right off the overhang
Whaaa...??? Crap. The second Terror attacked her down below. Quick check on everyone's status showed all were still alive. Solas and Viv had even managed somehow to do away with one despair demon. Yay team!
Solas was in dire straits again, health-wise, but that couldn't be helped, because now Meghan is by her squishy little level seven self against a full-health level 12 terror demon...
I wish I could say she survived the fight. ![]()
She did well, and actually did a fair amount of damage to the terror, and yet... ![]()
Switch control to Solas. it seems the other terror and one despair demon had turned their attention to Cassie. They froze away her guard and removed her from the fight in short order, but not before the three survivors took out both terrors. Yay team again!
So all that remained was one despair demon at about half-health against two fairly seriously harmed, but determined, mages. Despite Viv's relative ineffectiveness against a cold-attacking despair demon, those two mages did not disappoint. they killed the demon and sent him packing back through the rift.
They had done it. Bloody but unbowed, Solas and Viv went over and got Cassie back on her feet while they waited for Meghan to wake up and come down off that overhang -- since there was no way up to get her -- to join them and close the rift.
Which she did.

slavers in the alienage
I hate slavers. kill the scum
lets go to the landsmeet. Isn't there always a landsmeet if the land is always one big piece of land? Get it. Neither did I.
I killed Loghain.
Too bad he and Alistair be companions at the sametime. It would require a perfect playthrough for that to happen. But that time has come and gone
Anora and Alistair will rule together
the darkspawn are heading to Denerim. so why I'm I stuck in Redcliffe? Lets go. We got some darkspawn to kill
the king cheats on Anora. Nice.
lots of darkspawn. plenty to go around
its the archdemon.
I killed it
I'm a hero. Big deal. I want to rule Fereldon with my trusty redhead at my side. That would be cool. She could sing to me everyday
Now I'm deciding whether or not to play Awakening or not
Yes! That's the place. it was there we found the single pack of wolves and then the six bears, one after another
:shudder:
I don't think I ever want to meet six Emprise bears... those... four(?) that came at me in a row in Hinterlands were quite enough. They should add a war table operation "extinct all bears"...
"what is the first rule of The Fade?"
"Stay the hell out of it?" O:)
The despair demons chose to focus on Viv and Solas -- who are my cold and electric specialists
I will never forget the moment when I maxed out Dorian's lightning tree, gave him awesome lightning staff (because lightning staff has the prettiest effects!) and then with him as the only mage in group encountered a pack of Pride Demons. I believe I cried. >.<

War table operation or no, we can still try our best
... truly, by the time I'd arrived at Emprise du Lion in that game, the gang was already pretty powerful and handled the bears without too much trouble. It was just a bizarre occurrence, heh. I've never seen that many live bears in one spot. At least they didn't all attack at once ![]()

Ouch... yet another fine example of why one should bring extra, and different, staves for the mage(s). ![]()

Nice. Congrats on another PT. I've just recently gotten Origins fully installed on my system again, and I'm thinking about starting up a game. It's been awhile. I was saying to someone that I'd like to play Awakenings too because I've only ever completed it once. Started it several times, but only finished it once, so it'd be a fairly new experience.

Which I'll never use in the future.

But war table operation would allow me to do other (and more exciting) stuff while Josephine would diplomatically convince the bears it's much better to go harass Tevinter or Qunari than south of Thedas.

Yes, after this I ensured I had enough supply of staves in my inventory and I gave each mage a staff of different element than their specialisation, so in case of surprise attacks either auto-attack or spells would hit.
Maybe we can combine the "Send all the great bears to Tevinter" operation with sitting in judgement of 'Movran the Under' and make him take all the bears to Tevinter. But war table operation would allow me to do other (and more exciting) stuff while Josephine would diplomatically convince the bears it's much better to go harass Tevinter or Qunari than south of Thedas.
I should do this. This, and what I said before too. I should do it. I see the wisdom of it, and yet I'm on my fifth playthrough and I still bring a cold-attack mage to fight an ice dragon, or a lightning-attack mage to fight a zap-dragon. One day I'll learn. Ooooh! Yes! Movran could unlock a "Bear training" operation then and we could use army of bears in Adamant or Arbor Wilds or at the magic rock! Bearquisition!

I know! I should learn to find out the dragon's element before going to hunt them. So far I did only one full playthrough and I kind of YOLO'd it, (except in Halamshiral, that quest isn't YOLO-friendly) so when I visited the Storm Coast dragon, I had Dorian in my party.
Dragon: "You call that a lightning? THIS is a lightning!"
Dorian: "Res, pls!"
Indeed! I'd go for that (spoiler in case you haven't played Jaws of Hakkon yet)Ooooh! Yes! Movran could unlock a "Bear training" operation then and we could use army of bears in Adamant or Arbor Wilds or at the magic rock! Bearquisition!

I haven't played that, though I was thinking about buying it. Is it good?
I haven't played that, though I was thinking about buying it. Is it good?
in my 100% unbiased opinion
...Yes. Absolutely. It is totally worth the money. It's huge, with it's own distinct look and feel. There is lots to do, and some pretty interesting characters and lore as well. There is new and good loot -- weapons, armor, schematics, crafting materials -- and new banters and comments from the party members.
I do agree about the whole Mp factor and yeah there are some MP games I haven't touched either. For the record I haven't even promoted a class once and I swear everyone I get with has and maybe even a crap ton of times and run level 19's or whatever and have exactly that "I am better than you are" mentality which is why they rush and die. At times I feel like this about ME 3 at times but it doesn't happen quite often but to be honest I feel like I don't have a choice to play MP on ME 3 because I want the 100% defence so I can get a good ending regardless of the fact that I got all the DLC's. Other MP's like RE ORC i tried three times and yeah was trash. I was better off sticking to single player. I do admit I have my faults on MP games but I try to play as a team member and not a "i'm god"ish type person.
I do agree with the fact that if you learn more than 8 or whatever amount of spells yeah your spirit tree spells at time seem to be forgotten starred or not. Like for instance When I had Vivianne as a dedicated spirit mage she would use the revive spell 95% of the time since it's starred. Now that I gave her the lightning spell that hits multiple people she now uses it 50%-75% for some random reason. If the revive spell wasn't starred and just check marked however with the lightning spell the revive spell will be used 15% to 25% of the time.
I got my first promotion after dragon fight Spork told everyone about a few pages ago, but I know what you mean. One look at MP forum and you know that either you'll be lucky and actually get someone nice or you'll get one of those 'pros'. Someone who tries to correct every step I take, every spell I use... I would most likely leave after first few minutes and never come back.
There was time when I thought about picking up ME, but then I've read about ME3 endings and how you can unlock one after playing MP. I was already unsure (because combat style in ME is not my cup of tea), but that ending thing decided everything. I have nothing against multiplayer. Before I got DAO, I was playing a lot of multiplayer RPGs. Most of the time I played alone, but there were some where I really enjoyed party dungeons. But I don't think mixing MP with SP is wise.
I'm at the end of my current playthrough, so I'll not be able to pay that much attention to it, but when I start my nightmare game, I'll pay more attention to how often they use revive with star or without it.

I really like it. Everything. New zone, sidequests, fights. But that's just my opinion. I'm gonna post some scenery screenshots from there, so if you like you can check them out ![]()
I officially made up my mind:
The game is good up until Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts and Here Lies the Abyss.
Then it falls apart and makes me not want to play it again.

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure that when they patched the ending they made it so that you no longer needed the extra "Galactic Readiness" from playing MP in order to get the "best" endings. If that is what's putting you off, don't let it. They are great games in my opinion.
Yeah here you are... You used to need 4000 EMS but they lowered it to 3100 which is achievable with the vanilla SP. With extra DLC it becomes even easier... http://masseffect.wi...wiki/War_Assets
