Okay, I'll do it.

Seriously good idea to use hidden blades masterworks on high DPS weapons.  My favorites are 2H axes (I'm an ax person) and daggers.  Send Bull and Cole to town and watch the bad guys fall.  It's a good idea, if you have one to spare, to put one on an ice staff for dragon fights, as well, but I usually like to give priority to the heaviest hitters.

High DPS weapons... Are you referring to tier 3, tier 4 crafted weapons?

Great Bears are hard for me to find and farm.

Send Leliana to gather leather once you've taken Suledin Keep and she will always bring back great bear hide. :D

Also, at least one great bear always hangs out by the bridge in Emerald Graves. I think it's a set spawn point or something.

DAO's dialogue system still is too confusing to me. I can't tell which options carry the conversation forward to the next main part and which allow me to linger and ask more questions.

Sometimes I ask a character something expecting to be able to explore the other options afterwards, but then it immediately leads to the end of the cutscene.

It's place in the narrative.

There's literally no setup for it, it doesn't follow logically from what has happened previously in the plot, it's just "Oh BTW Corypheus is almost toast and all his dudes are in the Arbor Wilds so let's just march in with no idea what we're walking into and finish him." It comes absolutely out of nowhere, and is the nail int he coffin for having Corypheus be an intimidating villain. He's completely and entirely useless, you run circles around him even though you don't even know where you're going or why exactly you're there or what you're supposed to do, AND you got there AFTER he did.

WPHW neuters the villain, the pacing and the narrative. The actual mission is ok I guess, but it's what it does to the story that's the problem.

Not to mention the climax isn't at Skyhold, violating Chekov's Gun.

Now that I understand that you are talking about story and not gameplay, I agree with your assessment, except for one thing: you mark the point where the story went off the rails much later than I would. That happened for me right after the induction of the Inquisitor, about the time that Hawke shows up. I did Abyss before WEWH, which had a lot to do with my earlier disappointment.

Somewhere at Bioware, there is an engineer with a twisted sense of humor.  He's the guy who keeps adding in metal nodes we can't collect and flowers that are completely underground.  Like this one.  Well played, engineer, well played.

You and I need to start a support group. I couldn't agree more! I'm going to start collecting screenshots of everything that is detectable by search/highlighting, but is unreachable. I'll call it the, "How To Drive A Completionist Nuts" collection.

There's also that spot at Nazaire's Pass Camp in the Western Approach where you can see through the wall of stone into this vast unexplored area, but can't get in there. I tried everything, including the usual horse and jump tricks, nothing. I'd pay money for instructions on how to get into that OOB area. That one goes in the, "How To Drive An Explorer Nuts" collection.

Brin had an interesting day you could say.

First she explored the rest of the Hinterlands and took care of a bandit fortress where she killed the leader and hopefully stopped the looting going on. But she also found a key to a passage of the Deep Roads. It has her interest peeked but she has decided to visit it later for the issues the Chantry in Val Royeaux could no longer be ignored. And since the Chantry was denying her being the Herald of Andraste, Brin decided not to dress for the occasion... and apparently frightened the poor sheltered city folk with her appearance.

Spoiler

But Brin did not care. After all she believes in her heart to be chosen regardless of what others think. However news that the templars had returned to the chantry did cause her to pause for a moment. After all her little band of merry friends would be no match for templars. However it was a fear that was left without any ground for the templars wasted no time in revealing they're true intentions. Like a punch to the back of the head, the templars openly abandoned the chantry, stunning those that watched. The Lord Seeker who lead the templars even denounced Brin as the Herald and told her she was not impressing him. Something she was not trying to do. And were it not for being so outnumbered by his troops, she would have challenged him to the death right there for insulting the clerics and assaulting the Sisters.

Spoiler

After the templars had left, Brin made her assurances to the chantry that she would do what she could to bring peace. And the actions of the templars actually played in her favor as without them, the chantry seemed more accepting of her.

But her trip to Val Royeaux did not come to an end there. Some new friends were made with the introductions of a quirky rogue named Sera, and a powerful mage named Vivienne.

Back in Haven, Brin has decided to continue her goals of bringing peace to the lands as promised. Inquisition soldiers have been kidnapped in the marshlands by an Avvar group. So Brin is going to rescue them but since they are not from the same tribe she calls family, the task might not be so simple. And then there are raids going on along the coastland. Also there are the strange findings of stones that might unlock some temple in the oasis. So exploration and getting to know her new friends while solving problems is next on her list. But Brin plans to show those upstart templars just who she really is. And how powerful she is but some preperations need to be made first.

I knew Ostagar smelled like Haven. I thought I could take my sweet time there and only do the side quests when I felt like it but noooo, the place got burned down sooner than expected.

I just wish I had explored it more. There's a lot going on with the npcs there, including the chance to ****** off a priestess who's got the ol' prejudice against elves.

How do I know? Because I've got a save file from one hour and a half ago, right before the Joining. But it's my very first run and while it pains me to do so I'd rather move forward than over an hour back.

While this does suck, a few things went right for me. I did get to recruit the mabari dog, and he's gonna be called Falon (friend).

Ohh, and I finally got the chance to take a decent picture of my Warden.

I've never used that.

I really enjoyed using it once I got used to how it works. You have to prime it then trigger it. One you prime it, you have 8 seconds to do as much damage as you want, then it triggers. Once it does, a portion of the damage you did to the target during those 8 seconds is re-applied as additional damage -- I dunno what the percentage is, though. I just know it seems like a lot. :P Also, you can manually trigger MoD early for bonus damage. The upgrade -- Mark of Doom --  gives a 20% Armor reduction bonus, which means you do even more damage during those 8 seconds. It's a good skill.

Alright, you're playing Awakening. Cool.

Thousand cuts are hidden blades on crack.

I love using upgraded spinning blades on my DWs along with skirmisher, twin fangs and death blow.

Swap out Spinning Blades for mark of Death and that's how I played my assassin too.

Mere words cannot express how annoyed I am, once again, today, to be thwarted at every turn.  The garage overbooked and didn't have time to fix my muffler, even though I made the appointment last week!  They printed out a note to give to the cops in case I get pulled over.  Again.  At this point, the thing I'm afraid of is running out of routes to take that I haven't been pulled over yet on.  No matter how many estimates I have, if the same cop pulls me over twice, I'm out of luck.  Argh.

And now, after taking Suledin keep, I find that once again, the internet's too unreliable to even upload a single picture.  Again.

Oh no, that sounds terrible. Hope you can get to the garage soon.

The lack of dialogue wheel. Yeah. I'm gonna start a game of DA:O soon, and it's been long enough since I played that the dialogues are gonna be a little bit unfamiliar, heh. I'll probably do this myself a few times.

I like that Avvar armor... mud... warpaint... on a human Inquisitor way more than on a dwarf, elf or qun'ari. It loos properly proportioned, heh. Brin looks great, and it's got me considering using that Avvar armor for my magequisition group. I wonder how Vivienne will feel about that

Challenge accepted. :D It's gonna have to wait until I accumulate enough crafting materials though. I don't have enough for four suits of armor yet.

Crap, i just remembered that it's medium armor, and  mages won't be able to wear it.  <_<  unless.... There is one of each kind of primary crafting material  -- metal, cloth, and leather -- that removes class restrictions from the armor. For Avvar armor the primary crafting material is leather, so I'll need some snofleur skins. I think the earliest i can get some of that is in the Storm Coast? If not there, then the Forbidden Oasis... Unless I can buy some in the Black Emporium. Hmm, I'll have to do some checking.

For preference and devastation, yes.  Even ring velvet with 4 extra hits can wind up finishing a lieutenant in a single round.  I start being lavish when the DPS gets in the 250+ range, but my Inqs do a lot of damage too, so it's always a tough call.

The rain finally came and went, so here's what Mira's been up to.  She and Sera had an awkward conversation, but now Sera has a really impish new tarot card.

I like to put FT-Plush Fustian Velvet FT-Silverite in my armor, for the generate guard on hit bonus. It's fun to play a knight-enchanter and wade into combat with a lightsaber Spirit Blade and have full guard plus barriers. Look out bad guys, death's a-comin' B)
