Finished up in Western Approach, then bit the bullet and headed to the Winter Palace for a night of intrigue and possible mayhem. Dragged Cassandra (bodyguard), Solas (boyfriend), and Vivienne (etiquette coach) with me, along with all 3 advisors. Don't we all look special in our matching outfits? The place is a maze, and all the doors are locked. Yay. And why am I on a timer when I go where people can't see me? Why did I bring cohorts if they can't cover up my absence of trying to get into the blasted library?! Ugh, I'd much rather be fighting dragons than playing word games with the local buffoonery. And what's worse is, I have to make them like me. Can't wait till this night is over with but for now, it's back to looking for halla statuettes and blackmail material.

So Cassandra, Vivienne, Solas, and I left Skyhold for the Hinterlands to look for more Elfroot, and while we were there I decided I'd try to climb that basalt again to get to that shard. That damned dragon singed my hair again. Ooooo.... she made me so mad, and her kids started coming out after us, too. So I ran into the other part where it looked like it was her lair. What good are these vermin anyway? I'll bet they have some great scales for some really good armor!

 

And so it began. The big fight. Now this was a fight. She breathed fire at us. She clawed at us. She flapped her wings at us. And she screamed at us. Vivienne went down, but Solas used Life Ward, and we were back at full strength. I was running around in steath and shadow striking. We were down to our last healing potion, and I used it because I was the biggest damage dealer. She was hurting, and she retreated to a smaller area. Cassandra kept taunting it. I love that woman. I led the charge up the hill and we finished her off. She had some really nice loot she'd stolen while she was growing up. Then I mined some obsidian, and searched the area and found some more chests.

 

I sent Cassandra back to Skyhold to check on things. Warden Blackwell was waiting at the camp and had something to tell me. He said there were some Warden maps in the area that we could use. So he led us to them, and we're now a little better off. I sent a raven to Skyhold to tell Cassandra to meet us at the Emerald Graves and sent Blackwell with the maps back to Skyhold.

 

When we arrived at the camp, they complained about a great bear that had been terrorizing the camp. Yeah, right. We'd taken care of a few of these already. How hard could it be? And we'd just killed a dragon. So off we go into the woods, and a momma bear and two young bears come out after us. It was a fight for our lives, but our camp is now safe. (and SGJ is p*ssed at Bioware for not putting at least some crafting material with the bears. What is it with the PC crap? Just because it was a bear family and we're supposed to have feelz? I used 8 healing potions. I have no feelz. I want my crafting materials.) Oh, did I mention that I closed a rift there, too? I forgot to mention that.

 

Then we went up to another mansion. Apparently if you have money you need to hire a private army otherwise your manor gets taken over by mercs selling red lyrium. So another mess to clean up. But a hidden treasure room, and more nice treasure for the squad.

These are my Christmas wishes to everyone - or if not Christmas, then whatever it is you do. If your'e in the northern hemisphere then take your mittens kittens, it'll be cold outside. Cleared Crestwood today and completed Cass' book quest for 100th time.

It just seems too quiet after closing the breach. Even Cassandra agrees that we should not be relaxed because the breach is closed. We, I, need to find out who or what did this.

 

DING, DING. Whats going on?

 

Were under attack by the Templars. Lots of them. Good. It will make me stronger. Yes. I feel the power flow through me once again. These pesky little motarls are no match. 

 

No way. I haven't seen that dragon in a millenia. Now I know who caused this mess. There he is, Corypheus. My Lord will be most upset about this. He knew we don't mess with this world. You will pay dearly. I'm surprised he hasn't detected who I am. My powers are not up to par to take him on my own. This will work. How about some snow?

 

I find the others and eventually find a place called Skyhold. Impressive. I like my castle better though. I miss it.

 

Once we get settled, they make me their leader. I am now known as, The Inquisitor. They have no idea what they've done. Not to worry. I'm not here to hurt them. I'm here to bring Corypheus back to my Lord for punishment. I can feel the fire burn inside. 

 

Who is this Cole thing? A spirit? I don't trust it. I don't care what Solas says, the spirit is gone. Don't what to scare the people anymore than they are especially so soon after what happened at Haven.

 

I bring in some specialists and a arcanist. Dagna is her name. Very good at masterworks for armor and weapons. I also receive my knight enchanter specialization. Hopefully Elizabeth Nancy approves.

 

I meet Varric's friend, Hawke. I already know what he will say. He sided with the mages in Kirkwall. His sister died a long time ago and his brother is a Grey Warden. He also is very sad losing his mother. Its constantly on his mind. He mentions about meeting a Grey Warden by the name of Alistair. Ah. Yes. After reading Leliana's mind, she was thinking about Alistair. He fought at the Hero of Fereldon's side about 10 years ago. I will meet him in Crestwood.

 

Josephine mentioned that we may want to go to Orlais to help Empress Celene who may be a target for assassination. I will go see her.

Apart from 3 rifts, and actually going to Redcliffe and the north east corner, I have done everything in the Hinterlands! Not bad if I do say so myself, and I'm now at level 8.

 

This Hard playthrough will see me definitely dropping Varric for Cole. Bianca might be a babe, but I'd rather a dual wielder's damage then a crossbow.

 

I am now on my way to Val Royeaux, to try to get some sense into the Chantry stuck ups. I think they're just mad they didn't get chosen to be the Herald of Andraste.

I used the "lets look at the Environment by doing a full 360, but in reality I just want to cast a look at Cassandra" technique. She did not suspect a thing.

 

 

See? By the time she glances at me, I've already looked away!

 

 

This Woman laid her eyes upon her, and because she was not trained to do so, was unable to resist my charm. I fear she is now pregnant from gazing upon me, and if thats the case, all my gold will be going to help raising the child.

 

All in all, a splendid Adventure so far!

I also brought a bunch of tier 2 Schematic stuff, Heavy armour, Medium and Light!

 

But now all my gold is gone. But I made a save so I can always go back and sell everything, but I'm sure with a bit of grinding, I can get the gold back.

Still trolling at the ball. I've got court approval to 100 but I'm sure it will drop next time I go investigate something interesting. Met Morrigan....why does she look so weird?....and killed some Venatori trying to cause trouble. Well, they have already caused some trouble by killing all the servants (no one has noticed there are no servants to wait on them?? really? that seems odd even for Orlesians). Then I danced with Lady Whatsherface and everyone oohed and aahed in the background. Some probably even fainted from the shock of a Dalish knowing a "civilized" form of entertainment. Would have rather danced with Solas but he's off hiding in the guest wing.    I might not like Orlais or their silly masks, but I do really like their musical theme. Hopefully I can finish this up tonight and then get back to killing stuff.

Snooping about in the Winter Palace. Collecting blackmail, picking up halla statues, chatting up the laaaaaaadies. Also I'm drunk. It makes this quest so much more fun.

And Leliana was announced as the mistress of the queen of Ferelden. That means my lady Cousland gets to bang both Leliana and Alistair. OT3!

Just finished interrogating talking to Dagna about my HoF Queen. Looking for a good bow. I have the Shadowhunter bow and I can't afford the Grunsman bow, whatever it's called. This is all prepatory to heading off to the winter palace. I think that the crafting materials I have at the moment are of no real consequence in crafting a better bow.

 

Also can anyone tell me where to find essence confinement jars? I need 3 so that Lyell can upgrade to tempest rogue.

I was finding them as random loot drops in different places. Not much help to you, I know. Sorry about that, but now I know their purpose.

Here's something helpful about finding a good bow. You can get a tier 3 schematic bow in one of the tombs when doing the Tomb of Fairel quest in the Hissing Waste. I've made a bow using that schematic in my last playthrough and it served me well.

So today I forgot to defrost my mince pies- twice, wrapped all my presents without labelling them and will now have to use guesswork to match them with the appropriate family member. Have what looks like the worlds largest ball of dough proving in my kitchen so I can't make my cake, and have guests coming round this evening and nowhere to put them. Merry Christmas to you all! (Well, it's actually tomorrow here)

My prettiful male elf (whom I keep accidentally referring to as Legolas) was on his way to seal the deal with lady Cassandra, buuut decided to help Dorian with his personal quest first and the rest is history. I can't resist the flirt option for the life of me. Gathered some power and strolled around the desert before resolving the situation with the wardens. Progress has been slow since I finally decided to properly read all the codex entries and this is my fifth playthrough... kind of trying to pick all choices I haven't yet and honestly it frustrates me to be a douchebag but then again it's really refreshing lmao

Today I got back from the Arbor Wilds to be dumped by my boyfriend. Okay but understand this I took a long time deciding on my vallaslin, thinking about their meaning and what traits I most wanted to strive for. Learning what they were once used for and the implications of it is troubling but that doesn't change what they mean now.  

 

I'm keeping my tattoos and if you want to dump me for that then good riddance jackass. 

 

And FYI I think you're loosing it there was no begging me not to drink from the well you didn't trust Morrigan with it any more than I did.
