Holy crap, I'm looking back over the thread and there is so much awesomeness -- screenshots, stories, discussions -- and that's in just two days
I think you're all conspiring to make sure I never get caught up on likes .... Does that mean you should stop? Oh. Hell. No.
Gottaloveme is being a ninja don't think I didn't notice
At the moment however I've been taking part in my first ever MP weekend event -- with Rascoth's help I've unlocked the assassin and katari characters! In describing my contribution to the slaying of 500,000 undead across the entire community I will just say that size doesn't matter ... Uh, so to speak
If I missed anyone I apologizeI'm kinda reminded of Flemeth saying, "someday someone will summarize the events of your life so quickly"
Keep it going all you wonderful people

The Big Finish, Part 3
A Final Confrontation
PS Entropy spells are awesome! I don't think I ever used any of them before (on my characters) so doing so this time was an eye opener.

A Final Confrontation
Spoiler
1) Cullen doesn't look good, does he get enough sleep? I guess not, with the mages and templars going crazier and crazier every day.
2) That lyrium sword looks much scarier than I remember!
Well, that's it, finally! I really enjoyed the game this time around. It had been a while since I played and my last one was with a Hawke I didn't like very much. This time was a lot more fun. Plus getting to share the adventure was fun (and exhausting!
) as well. Thanks for coming along on Malia's journey.

Happy you enjoyed it! And thanks for the tip with the Entropy spells, I might give them try next time I'll play a mage Hawke.

Thanks! And you're welcome.
Now it's back to DAI where Entropy is sort of included with the Necromancy specialty (my plan is for Rift Mage) and Crushing Prison is no longer available.
Not that I won't mind it not being cast on me..... ![]()
Edit: Having to relearn DAI's key bindings is so not fun. I keep trying to attack with the right mouse button instead of the left.
Oddly enough, nothing happens. And I really miss auto-looting by hitting the R key non-stop. Why u take these options away, Bioware?

Ack. Me too! I started up a game of DA2 just to see if it was working properly after installing all the DLC, etc. and played through the intro. It was ... confusing.
Mira visited some stunning places. Always stop to admire the view.
Wow, this is a really beautiful screenshot! I like the rest you posted too, both, greeney and icey, but this one is... stunning!

Everyone has been chugging away lately! It's been nice catching up.
I started a DA2 mage Hawke PT and then kinda abandoned it (temporarily) because I got wrapped up in Mass Effect.
Hope to be back in here sharing my adventures soon.

Tell me about it. My new mouse has a slightly defective optical sensor and right mouse button, so I had to swap mouse buttons to get it to work at all. What a pain. I can attack and I can move, but if I try to do both with the right mouse button, nothing happens at all.
@Shienis - Love your avatar!
Miri Trevelyan visited Therinfal Redoubt. At first the templars couldn't decide what to do (=the game was stuck on loading screen for half an hour before I gave up and restarted computer), but then Knight-Captain Denam appeared and everything went as normal. Well, except the red lyrium being everywhere and the Envy Demon nightmare, but Miri managed to save many templars and kill the demon. She was a bit sad when she glimpsed Cole leaving the fortress, but fortunately he appeared in Haven. Her advisors don't like him much, but she's sure that will change.
I also tried multiplayer. I had no idea what the hell was going on. Not for me, I guess... also I can't use this name there, someone else snatched it before me.

After visiting Redcliffe, Brin decided to act upon some information she had gotten from Leliana in regards to the Grey Wardens. Leliana's past with them and the sudden disappearance of the wardens seemed to alarm the spy master, so Brin decided to look into it. It was on the way anyway to the dwarven deep roads entrance of Valammar.
She found Warden Blackwall training a couple of young men when they were all suddenly attacked by bandits. It was a bold yet suicidal move on the part of the bandits. Attacking Brin and her inquisition plus Blackwall and his men. And when the dust settles shortly after, Brin watched as Blackwall looked over the dead bandits. "Warden Blackwall?" she called to him after he dismissed his men and sent them home. "May I have a word with you?"
It turned out that Blackwall had been away from the Wardens for so long that he had no idea where they had gone, or had even vanished. But he offered to join the inquisition to help in any way and who was Brin to turn down the help of a charming man with such a handsome beard. After all he had a pretty valid point. It only required one warden to end a blight.
With Blackwall agreeing to meet them back in Haven, Brin took Cassandra, Solas and Vivienne to Valammar. There they battled carta thugs although it was not much of a fair fight. Most of the dwarves never saw Brin or heard her arrows.
After dealing with the Carta and the couple of darkspawn that roamed the deep road, Brin and company rested by a campfire for a short time. It was sometimes hard to remember when sitting in such peaceful scenery that a war was going on out there and things were more dire then they seemed.
It was sometime later while chasing down more of Leliana's leads on the Wardens that Brin and company arrived at the Storm Coast. It was also here that she was to meet a group called "The Bull's Charges" as well as deal with a group of mercenaries that were killing inquisition troops. The Blades of Hessarian.
Brin found the Charges fighting a large group of Tevinter zealots and quickly joined the fight. It was a bloody mess but in the end none of the Tevinter survived and only a handfull of the Charges had injuries. It was not hard for Brin to pick out who Iron Bull was from the group. He was a giant of a man, qunari and with a set of horns the likes of which she had never seen before. Very impressive and at least a little frightening.
It was there under the stormy skies of the coast that an alliance was formed between Iron Bull and his Charges, and Brin with her inquisition. Even knowing that Iron Bull was a spy for the Qunari, his intentions seemed well enough. Plus more skilled fighters to the cause was most agreeable. It also seemed like Iron Bull had a thing for red heads so Brin decided to watch her back. He seemed like quite the charmer but she had her own interests. And he had a way of treating his men that she planned to learn from. He seemed laid back yet his men respected and listened to him. Even if the task was nearly impossible. Like closing up castes opened with axes.
With the Charges company now working for the Inquisition, Brin turned her attention to the Blades of Hessarian. Following clues left at at a trap which claimed the lives of her men, Brin discovered there was a way to challenge the leader of the Blades to a fight. Wearing an amulet she had crafted per the instructions on a note she found, Brin strode boldly up to the gates of the Hessarian fort. Seeing the amulet, the guards let her pass and as she did so, Brin heard them whisper exitedly that maybe she might be able to defeat the leader. It seemed they were not happy with his leadership. The challange was accepted by the leader of the Blades but he and his dogs were no match for Brin and her company of Blackwall, Solas and Vivienne. And with the Blades of Hessarian now under her leadership and reporting to Cullen, Brin turned her attention elsewhere.
"Your not afraid of undead... are you?"
Brin found herself in the Fallow Mire, an miserable place that a group of Avvar had come to call home. Brin knew of this group well for her own Avvar tribe had traded with this one. And now that she was Herald of Andraste, the chief's son was challenging her and her gods to a fight. But as Scout Harding pointed out there was a lot more here going on. Undead were coming out from the waters and trying to find the kidnapped Inquisition soldiers was proving difficult. But Brin was not afraid of undead. And neither was her band of merry companions consisting of Blackwall, Solas and Vivienne. And Brin throught it was funny when Blackwall began to make jokes at Vivienne's expence about the mud.
After exploring the area and lighting a set of four beacons to drive off the undead, Brin and company found themselves before a large strong hold. According to Sky Watcher, an Avvar tribesman who Brin knew from her past life with the Avvar, the inquisition soldiers were being held inside. There was one small problem and that was the hord of undead rushing towards them. Solas urged that they flee to the fort and close the gate. But Brin does not back down from a fight. The undead needed to be stopped. Not only for her own safety but for that of those who callled this place home. Nearly outnumbered fifteen to one, the battle raged on for some time. But in the end it was Brin and her company that remained standing amid the pile of rotting corpses.
"I've come for my men!"
Brin strode with purpose into the throne room of the old fort. There she accepted the challange made by the chief's son and there she proved the gods showed her more favor. In victory she not only freed her inquisition forces but also gained a new friend and ally. Sky Watcher had decided to join them.
With the inquisition forces growing and their influence spreading. Brin knew it was soon time to approach the Templars. But there was one last thing to do, a place to visit. And compared to the Storm Coast and Fallow Mire, this Oasis was a paradise.
"Welcome to the Oasis.... hope you don't mind sand."

Started doing my random playthrough of DAO, and of course the Goddess of RNG decided that I should play a Dalish dwarven mage. Right. Well, I went exploring mods and actually found one that let me play as a dalish dwarven mage.
This is her story:
Chapter 1 - Jade wood flower
During a late night when the crescent moon was unusually bright, a dwarf appeared out of nowhere in the Planasene forest. With no memory of who, or whence she came from, she wandered the forest for days. Tired and starving she was suddenly beset by a sylvan. Too tired to flee the dwarf panicked and fire burst forth from her fingers, igniting the sylvan. Some nearby elven scouts noticed the sudden fiery light in the dark forest and immediately went to investigate. What they witnessed was unheard of, a dwarf that seemingly possessed the ability to perform magic. The scouts knew their Keeper would want to hear of this, and apprehended the dwarf. Way too tired to fight off the elves, she had little choice but to let the elves bring her to their clan.
Upon arrival the dwarf fell unconscious of exhaustion, and the following six days kept the clan's healers busy trying to restore the dwarf to health. Although the healers said that they felt like something was hindering their attempts, the Keeper insisted the dwarf be mended. Another three days later and the dwarf began to stir. Yet it took two more days of careful nourishing before she was able to gather her wits.
The dwarven woman struggled with the Keeper's questions, having lost her memory and barely able to manage the common tongue. Many in the clan felt that the dwarf should be brought, or at least sent to Orzammar. Keeper Marethari was no stranger to magic and the fears of her clansmen. Perhaps it was her curiosity that kept her from sending the dwarf away, or was it something else? Nevertheless, Marethari didn't perceive the dwarven woman as a threat. She had done no harm and showed nothing but gratitude towards the clan that viewed her with suspicion and fear.
Several days passed as the mystery dwarf's health improved, but not her memory. She never experienced dreams, or felt the presence of spirits. Neither did she hear any voices. In turn this revelation became one more thing that fueled the Keeper's interest in the dwarf, so much that she allowed her to remain with the clan until she felt ready to leave.
The clan gathered around the campfire and together they dubbed the dwarf Rysae'or, the Jade Wood Flower. The name hailing partially of the dwarf's jade eye color, and from an ancient tale of a jade flower which only blooms in the night, in the very deep heart of some forests. On this evening, in the year 9:22 Dragon, for the first time in known history a dwarf became part of a Dalish clan.
Paivel, the clan's hahren, took Rysae'or under his wing as her caretaker and teacher. Through the years he would teach her their language and customs. Times would be hard and trying for Rysae'or and her new clan. Most of which came from her struggles with controlling her magic. Marethari remained ever kind and patient. Once Rysae'or managed to control her abilities, the elven clan slowly eased itself like a cool breeze flowing through the trees. Tensions fell away and Rysae'or found a loving home with the clan. Still her lost memories kept eluding her.
Years later the clan set camp within the Brecilian forest. On a scouting trip through the forest, Rysae'or and her friend Tamlen came across a couple of human strangers...
